Oracle Jdeveloper -- Please Reply
I currently have a small Oracle Jdeveloper JSF/ADFBC “stateful” application that runs on ONE Oracle application server and am in the process of creating an entire ERP system in Jdeveloper and want a way to deploy pieces at a time so I can make a change to the AP module without having to redeploy the entire ERP system.
Is it possible to setup multiple apps that pass login info from one app to the other OR what would you recommend when building an ERP with OrderEntry, AP, GL, Warehousing, Food Production Scheduling, etc ?
Also, how much will it cost for
you provide me steps on how to
1. deploy to multiple
app servers at one time
2. avoid killing logged in users during
redeploy, my MOST important issue
3. setup state replication so user gets
redirected to another server if their
server does down without having to
relogin in

Just installed New Oracle JDeveloper 11.1.1.2.0.
F8 key invokes SQL History window. It was hostorically assigned as Step Over function for Debugger.
Tryed to assign F8 key Tools+Preferences+Short keys. It is not working.
Does anyone know how to return "classic" F8 key function?
ThanksIn my case it always invoked the History. I even didn't run the SQL Worksheet.
I fixed it. Assigned F8 manually to the StepOver Debug and deleted F8 key from the History view (Tools + Pref. + Short keys)

Oracle JDeveloper 6i Registry?
Hi,
I am unable to install FORMS2JAVA Wizard that integrates with
Oracle JDeveloper 6i. When I execute the setup, it checks for
the regedit entry, but the JDeveloper installation is rather by
just unzipping the ZIP file provided by Oracle. How do I install
then? Please reply.
SteenieI am not sure which version of FormsWizard you are using, but newer versions ask you to provide a JDK/JRE bin path first. Then, a Swing-based installation program will guide you through the process of finding the right JDev installation.
Please download the latest release from http://www.forms2java.com.

Test oracles jdeveloper 10g claims
Hi,
I have a course assignment that I need help with from someone experienced with object orientation and JDeveloper.
Basically I am investigating the claim that oracle jdeveloper (most recent version 10g v9.0.5.2) is java enabled. Oracle say they have embedded with java. Im Looking at the extent to which this is true.
Questions and ideas that im looking to answer and include within the auctions web site below;
Have business logic actually embedded within the oracle database
To develop multi-tier software using JDeveloper
Does JDeveloper really offer lots of scope for multi tier java application development?
How does JDeveloper actually support jakarta struts?
Basically put together a database, where the logic of the system should be within the system. The business logic outside of the database. Put business logic into objects themselves in order to improve data independence have applications independent of each other with multiple programs accessing same files
object oriented business logic must sit within the database tier with middle tier the controller
thanks
andrewThanks for your reply Duncan
I am would be very interested in your detailed views on the following. Please provide as much details as possible. I would be very grateful for your view as a developer;

(i could only see Other operating systems with Sun-certified JDK 1.6 Update 24 or later is supported on certifiction matrix in addition to windows/linux/mac)
I don't find any installaer for thsi ? I could see only for windows/Linux and Generic. Do i ned to download generic one?
I don't find Installation Document for this?
Please provide me the same.
Regards,
DBHi,
don't know there is a certification for this platform. "Generic" however is the installer option for this platform. It requires you to have a certified Java SDK installed. JDeveloper runs on top of a JDK

Hi
I have Microsoft Windows Server 2003 R2 standard X64 Edition.I tried to install oracle 9i(9.2.0.1 32 bit for windows) on this server but installation was never successful. Do i need to go for a Oracle 9i(9.2.0.1 64bit for windows) or any other problem? Even i completely remove windows server and reinstall it completely but still problem is there. Please reply me ASAP as this is our production server.
Thanks.
Regards,
RJ.From Oracle:
32-bit Information
Currently this platform is ONLY certified 32-bit Oracle on a 32-bit operating system.
There is only 32bit 9i available for 32bit OS on this platform, even if hardware architecture is 64bit. So you need either Windows 32bit or you have to go for 10g.

SEVERE: Server exiting: ApplicationServer entered state FAILED_IN_CONFIG
Process exited with exit code 1.
Could you please somebody let me know is there any setups I need to do before I use the Jdeveloper?
Regards
KiranThe FAILED_IN_CONFIG may be caused because the JDEV project you are attempting to run is using an incompatible adf-config.xml file, I.e. one that was checked in from a previous jdev build.
I received this error after checking out from main and opening a project in build 28, that was checked in as working in build 27.
To solve the issue, you have to checkout into a new workspace, start the project in the build you want, delete and recreate the adf-config.xml file and re-check it in.
1. cd ~/jdevhome
2. scs makeworkspace workspace <newWorkingDir> rule latest --product <application>
3. Start JDEV
jdev fusiondrop5primeb28 <newWorkingDir>
4. connect to CVS
5. check out module
6. Close JDEV
7. Delete adf-config.xml
>find . –name adf-config.xml
>rm mywork/<yourapp>/<LBA>/.adf/META-INF/adf-config.xml
8. start jdev
9. re-add the Passwords to the database connection(s)
10. start your project
11. commit the new adf-config.xml and connections.xml files
12. merge into main -

Installing OMB Plus in Oracle JDeveloper
Hello
I have JDeveloper 11.1.1.3.0, and I like to enable the IDE for OMBPlus development.
I followed the guide at http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B28359_01/owb.111/b31279.pdf (appendix Installing OMB Plus in Oracle JDeveloper)
1. Drop shiphome/owb/lib/int/OMBPlus_jdev.jar in the JDeveloper
installation directory/lib/ext directory.
2. Start JDeveloper.
3. From the Tools menu, select Preferences, OMBPlus, and then OMBPlus
Installation to set the Warehouse Builder installation directory. For example,
c:\oracle\ora81. Do not include the Warehouse Builder directory at the end
of this path.
4. Restart JDeveloper.
Repeat steps 3 and 4 each time you change the Warehouse Builder installation
directory.
However I do not get a OMBPlus menu in the Preferences window.
Can you please help me?
/kasperkasper,
There is a bug report in support.oracle.com with the exact same symptoms - I could find no documentation about the version of JDev supported by OMBPlus, but I'm strongly guessing that JDev 11 isn't supported. In fact, I guarantee it.
I've cracked open OMBPlus.jar and had a look at the extension manifest - it's for JDev 9.0.x, which isn't available to download any more. Your best bet would probably be to file a support request to see what they have to say.

Hi,
I have installed Oracle Unified Directory 11.1.2.2.0 and WebSphere Application Server 7 with Fix Pack 37.
I am getting error while configuring WAS 7 Fix Pack 37 (7.0.0.37) with Oracle Application Development Framework (Oracle JDeveloper 11.1.1.7.0). While adding products to cell (Oracle Directory Services Manager for WebSphere - 11.1.2.2.0), I am getting below error:
CFGFWK-64069: The following prerequisites were found to be missing: Oracle WebCenter Composer Extension - 11.1.1.0
Also attached the screenshot of the error.
Please help.
Thanks,
Himanshu VermaHello,
ODSM has the following dependencies apart from ADF (both components depend also on ADF):
- UIShell (oracle.idm.uishell.war)
- Webcenter Composer (oracle.webcenter.composer.war).
Apparently the composer is missing.
Important points to check when using ODSM with WAS:
- To install and configure Oracle Fusion Middleware with IBM WebSphere, you must first install (but not configure) IBM WebSphere
- You must install the Oracle Application Development Framework as the same user who installed Oracle Unified Directory.
- appdev must be installed under the same ORACLE_HOME as OUD
