Oracle-Linux 11g Install error
Hi guys,
After starting Ora installer on Linux I'm getting this error:
Invalid source path '../stage/Components/oracle.jdk/1.5.0.17.0/1/DataFiles' specified for unzip. Unzip command failed. Please check oraparam.ini and specify a valid source path.
: No such file or directory
I downloaded 11g twice thinking that maybe the files are corrupt but both times got the same error as above directory does not exist when I unzip Oracle 11g db files... ???
Please help.

I already closed the session... I started Oracle Installer as a super user in Oracle-Linux:

Invalid source path '../stage/Components/oracle.jdk/1.5.0.17.0/1/DataFiles' specified for unzip. Unzip command failed. Please check oraparam.ini and specify a valid source path.
The problem I think is that directory '.../oracle.jdk/...' does not exist.
Thank you very much.

Error installing OEM 12 in Oracle Linux x86 32bit-Error Starting EMGC_OMS1
Dear all.
I've got a issue that I'm not able to figure out what's going on anymore. I'm preparing a new server to be the Oracle Enterprise Manager 12c Server. I've installed Oracle Database 11g Enterprise, 11g Grid Infrastructure, create a database (SID=oem12rep) using +ASM instance to the disks. Now I'm trying to install OEM 12c and when the installer gets 89% done, I'm stuck in Start OMS process. I don't undestand much about Weblogic but when I have a look to the logs I can see the message "Error Starting server EMGC_OMS1: weblogic.nodemanager.NMException: Exception while starting server 'EMGC_OMS1'" and then the process fails with the message "timed out waiting for EMGC_OMS1 to be RUNNING".
My server:
Oracle Enterprise Linux 5 Update 7
Database: Oracle Enterprise Edition 11g
Grid Infrastructure: 11g
Could anyone please help me with this issue? The logs I have are:

Bruno PalmaSo ...
After a lot of searches, it was necessary a help from a Weblogic Administrator to find out what was going on with the installation process. The problem was with the memory allocation to the Weblogic VM. The process EMGC_OMS1 could not be started cos it was not possible to create a VM into SERVERADMIN.
With just my DB experience I could not find any logs besides emctl.log and that one that it's shown in OEM Installler interface. The Weblogic Administrator was browsing the HOME where the Weblogic was installed and he found logs that showed the error telling where the problem was. Even downloading the OEM 12c 32bit, it was allocated memory to the java as if it was 64bit. The solution was decreasing the values of memory and clicking in Retry. So, my OEM Cloud Control 12c it's working now.

Install Oracle Linux + 11G Rac (itanium) HELP
Hello, sorry for the English ...
I have 2 hp server rx2620 itanium, mas1000 and should do tests to install oracle 11g rac linux oracle, but on linux I can not, someone can give me some advice or guide on the internet? my question is how to share the disk, so that the 2 servers are able to see them, I use ASMLib?
2 hp Server rx2620 itanium (4 NICs + 2 fiber channel cards)
MSA1000 (2 100gb disks to be shared) Fibre Channel
Oracle Linux 5.5 IA64
Oracle 11g Grid
Oracle Database 11g
Sorry and thanks. There does not seen to be much current development in this area. Oracle Linux 5.5 is apparently the last version available. I would ask Oracle support about current and future plans to support the IA64 bit platform. Perhaps you might rather want to use HP Unix instead of Linux. Apparently Red Hat is no longer going to support the IA64 platform according to http://www.theregister.co.uk/2009/12/18/redhat_rhel6_itanium_dead. Oracle Stops All Software Development For Intel Itanium Microprocessor (March 2011) http://www.oracle.com/us/corporate/press/346696
I think this might actually be another example of a silly development in the IT industry, where customers prefer cheaper, often more trivial solutions, over more expensive superior solutions. The majority of customers is apparently buying into the the Intel x86-64 architecture to support x86 CISC based software like MS windows, thinking a x86-64 CPU is just as powerful as a IA 64-bit CPU.
Regrading your question to share the disks, you need hardware that supports device sharing and a cluster file system. There are several options for hardware, typically fiber-channel, iSCSI and the older differential (HVD) SCSI for SAN and even NFS can apparently be used with a certified NAS storage. MSA1000 should be fine. Oracle provides OCFS2 cluster filesystem and you can also use ASM. You don't necessarily need ASMLib, but need to setup multipath or udev. How to setup the MSA1000 for shared storage should be in the Storage controller manual. -

Oracle 9i iAS: (Install Error)
Hello,
This is the Pop-Up message that I get, when installing Oracle 9i iAS:
Your local hsot name database file (typically /etc/hosts) is not configured
properly. This file should have an entry of the form:
<IP_ADDRESS> <FULLY_QUALIFIED_HOSTNAME> <AIASES>
On Solaris sustems, the following files should also contain the fully qualified hostname, including the domain name:
/etc/nodename, /etc/net/ticlts/hosts, /etc/net/ticots/hosts,
/etc/net/ticotsord/hosts, and any files in /etc whose names begin with "hostname"
In some of the above files, the hostanme may occur more than once, in which
case all occurences hould be changed. Please correct your local host name database file, reboot the host, and restart the installation.
Failure to properly configure this file may result in product runtime issues regarding proper hostname resolution.
I tried to edit my /etc/hosts file as follows and reboot my computer to no avail:
# Do not remove the following line, or various programs
# that require network functionality will fail.
127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost

How can I resolve this PB ?
PTHello,
I set my DISPLAY variable as follows:
DISPLAY=192.9.200.12:0.0; export DISPLAY

I commented out the first line. DUring the ORacle 9i Database Install I used both lines.
When asked to type a hostname and portnumber, I get this error:

Virtualbox ORACLE Linux not installing
Not sure what the issue is. I have Virtual box - upgraded to today's version
I got a copy of Oracle linux (6) at a seminar today. The goal is to install Oracle Linux on the Virtual box to test it.
During the install the keyboard commands (options?) flash by too fast to read.
Installation says the kernel is not right "This kernel requires x8-64 CPU, but only detected an i686CPU."
Well it is a 64 bit CPU.
I tried it on a 32 bit CPU box and got the same result.
alas. is this a bust? Here's some additional information that seems relevant to your problem: http://www.virtualbox.org/ticket/2061
You could also check your VBox.log file, which contains, among a lot of other things, detailed information about the host CPU type and supported features.
I suggest to check if there is a BIOS update available for your computer, or try to use a 32-bit Oracle Linux distribution, which you can download for free from https://edelivery.oracle.com/linux
Regarding your hardware upgrade question, check the following: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/X86_virtualization
+As of 2009[update] not all Intel processors supported VT-x, which Intel uses to segment its market.[20] Support for VT-x may even vary between different versions (as identified by Intel's sSpec Number) of the same model number.[21] [22] For a complete and up-to-date list see the Intel website.[23] Even in May, 2011, the Intel CPU P6100 which is in laptops does not support hardware virtualization [1].+

OIM 11g install error INST-07286 mw_home has wrong version weblogic
Hi gurus,
I have been trying to install OIM 11g from past few days
1. I have installed Oracle 10.2.0.5
2.I installed weblogic 10.3.3 by downloading from Oracle website , wls1033_dev.zip
3.I ran Rcu utlity 11.1.1.3.3
4. I installed SOA 11.1.1.2.0.
I am trying to upgrade soa to 11.1.1.3.0 using ofm_soa_generic_11.1.1.3.0_disk1_1of1.zip
It gives me error
INST-07286 Specified Oracle Middle ware home does not contain weblogic version 10.3.3 , upgrade to crrect version and then retry
It does not let me further.
Can some one please help /advise ?
Thanks,
PanduHi Gurus,
I think I found the answer.
I downloaded wrong version of weblogic
I had linux 32 , and wanted weblogic 10.3.3, So I went here ( row 3 , column 2)
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/ias/downloads/wls-main-097127.html
file name = wls1033_dev.zip
well I was wrong it was not 10.3.3 or something was wrong. SOA installer did not recognise it as 10.3.3.
Who is to blame. I wasted 3 days I hope Oracle keeps right versions in its website for download.
I got the right one from edelievry
http://edelivery.oracle.com/EPD/Download/get_form?egroup_aru_number=11493750
and download =
Download Oracle WebLogic Server 11gR1 (10.3.3) for Linux x86 V21014-01 703M
Hope this helps some one.
Thanks! -
CF7 on RH Linux 5 install error
I'm attempting to install Cold Fusion 7 on Red Hat Linux 5
(32-Bit!! OS) and receiving the following errors: awk: error while
loading shared libraries: libdl.so.2: cannot open shared object
file: No such file or directory
dirname: error while loading shared libraries: libc.so.6:
cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
/bin/ls: error while loading shared libraries: librt.so.1:
cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
basename: error while loading shared libraries: libc.so.6:
cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory.
Any ideas on how to correct this problem? I see where this
error comes up on 64 bit installations, but how do you solve this
error on 32 bit installations?
Many thanksWe are doing a single user install(as the oracle user) using rapidwiz across a db server and an apps server.
At no point in the install were we asked to run root.sh. Is this expected? No.
After the installs completed we had to run root.sh ourselves to create oratab and then we manually created the oraInventory.
Has anyone else experienced this? Not really, but this should be OK as long as you have no errors.
Thanks,

This error is related to the wrong version of JDK u r using & the sequence u apply to install the Forms, Reports and Discoverer 11.1.1.2.0
java version "1.7.0_03" is not supported always it's not smart to always used the latest version of a software each has a compatable version related to each other.
pls uninstalled java version "1.7.0_03" (reason : for the wrong version used) & Oracle WebLogic Server 10.3.2(reason : for the wrong sequence used in installation)
Then installed the following jdk (a support version!)as a first step:

Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_26-b03)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 20.1-b02, mixed mode)
2.*re-installed Oracle WebLogic Server 10.3.2*

I received the following error when trying to install jdeveloper 11g. I was attempting to install the studio edition for windows.
Fatal error encountered during file installation. The installer will now cleanup and exit!
C:\oracle\Middleware\wlser_10.3\server\lib\jms-local-adp.rar (Access is denied)
This is a windows box that I have been running jdev 10.1.3.3 with no problems.
Has anyone else encountered this error??Hi,
didn't see anything like this so far. The installation routine between 10.1.3 and 11 has changed and cannot be compared. Did you run the ".exe." installer ? I am asking because I tend using the jar installer that you launh with java -jar <jdev install file>.jar
Maybe this is an option for you to try (though it might require a new download of JDev ;-(

Oracle VM Server - install error - Graphical mode
Hi all!
I hope, you can help me the following problem.
I try to install an Oracle VM server to a FS server.
First, I tried the newest version - OVM S 2.2.1
In the begining Everything is allright.
But after I have to choose the keyboard, the next screen did not come up. Just a blue screen.
I went to the alt+F3 terminal, and I found a warning there:
WARNING Graphical mode is not avaible...Start text mode.
So the screen where I can partition the disk, did not come up..
I tried earlier version too - OVM server 2.1.5, but It is the same problem too.
Can somebody help me in this, what couse this problem, and how can I fix this, and install the O VM server?
Thx in advance!
Peter KokaiI purchased an Asus Sabertooth motherboard with an I7 4770 cpu and the Oracle VM server fails to detect the motherboard. I am seeing the same error that is posted in the Known Issues list with the Dell 380 Broadcom ethernet adapter.
Do I have a compatibility issue? The disk ISO was being given out at EMC World. I do not know how to tell what version it is.
I tried downloading the 3.2.2 version iso and it seems to have trouble with my USB devices, because my keyboard stops working and I can't select between media cd test or skip.
Are there any workarounds? Should I just wait for a future release?
