Oracle Packaged Application "Google Map" - Problem Found

To Oracle Webmaster and Support Team,
In the APEX Sample Code from the page (http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/database/application_express/packaged_apps/packaged_apps.html#INTEGRATION).
The "Google Map" Application Preview (http://apex.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=34481:1:4401939335008683) has some issues.
After entering an address and click the button "Get Geocode", the following error message display: "ORA-29273: HTTP request failed ORA-06512: at "SYS.UTL_HTTP", line 1577 ORA-24247: network access denied by access control list (ACL)" (Error Calling Geocode Service).
I apologize if this is the incorrect place to post this message, I cannot find any other place to post this issue to Oracle.
Thanks.
JT

JT,
On the Oracle hosted web site, that 'problem' will never be fixed, mainly because to fix it, it could allow a whole series of approaches for their system to be 'hacked'.
In short, for Oracle to allow that access on their server, for anybody to execute, would be a huge security problem. On your own site, then you can limit which users/schema would have that privilege, so it's not as big of a secuirty threat on your site. Though, that also doesn't mean nobody on your site could inadvertently grant the permission and open your site up to potential attacks, but that's a completely different problem.

If you are installing into Windows 2000, one workaround recommendation by Oracle for this problem is:
Install the latest Windows* 2000 Service Pack patch: http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/downloads/
Create a temporary directory on your Intel Pentium® 4 processor server (e.g. \TEMP).
Copy the contents of the Oracle* Server CD to the temporary directory created in step 2.
Search the directory structure created in step 2 for the existence of the filename SYMCJIT.DLL.
Rename each copy of the SYMCJIT.DLL to SYMCJIT.OLD.
Run the SETUP.EXE from the \TEMP\install\win32 directory and install Oracle 8.1.x.
If you have any other questions on this work around, please contact Oracle.

  • Google map-problem in folio

I got this kind of problem on a webcontent in the iPad-magazine.
    http://www.0x61.com/forum/post3771011.html
I use the standard setup using a google-map link, this is the only problem.
Where can i "edit" the code, and how to solve this problem´?
I also noticed, that if you place a google-map-link like this, you dont get
a Google-logo in the corner. But you get a Google copyright-text.
Also "Google" common tools is added in the top of the map.
Is that enough for Apple to accept? I now many iphone-developers
geting denied because theres no Google-logo.
STILL, it just in the FOLIO, not the APP (library). I dont know if thats
something Apple checking - the folios.

You can’t just link to that code…you need to create a valid HTML file and link to that.
CS6 will allow you to simply paste the code into InDesign.

  • Google Map problem in MSO

    Hi there,
I'm incorporating some Google Map code into a web overlay within a pop-up MSO. Specifically, this code:
    <iframe width="425" height="350" frameborder="0" scrolling="no" marginheight="0" marginwidth="0" src="http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=pescara,+italy&daddr=SP8,+Penne,+italy+to :l'aquila,+italy&hl=en&geocode=FTr2hwIdz-PYACm3HIw1DqYxEzEQ9Dmymk8JBA%3BFVYTiAIdJuPTAClHGB m1FskxEzEl77Dh58Av4w%3BFWo4hgIdfnfMACl_AKeq0ywuEzGw6zmymk8JBA&aq=&sll=42.456901,13.922596& sspn=0.081182,0.140419&t=h&dirflg=h&mra=ls&ie=UTF8&ll=42.41224,13.80931&spn=0.12306,0.8188 2&output=embed"></iframe><br /><small><a href="http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source=embed&saddr=pescara,+italy&daddr=SP8,+Penne,+italy+ to:l'aquila,+italy&hl=en&geocode=FTr2hwIdz-PYACm3HIw1DqYxEzEQ9Dmymk8JBA%3BFVYTiAIdJuPTAClH GBm1FskxEzEl77Dh58Av4w%3BFWo4hgIdfnfMACl_AKeq0ywuEzGw6zmymk8JBA&aq=&sll=42.456901,13.92259 6&sspn=0.081182,0.140419&t=h&dirflg=h&mra=ls&ie=UTF8&ll=42.41224,13.80931&spn=0.12306,0.81 882" style="color:#0000FF;text-align:left">View Larger Map</a></small>
Unfortunately, it generates a MASSIVE file size. (See screen shot attached)
Now, I'm pretty sure that a one page TEST .folio will not produce a file greater than 1GB. Has anyone else come across this problem before?
    I'm using V19 tools, and CS5.
I'm assuming this is because I'm using <iframe>?

  • Firefox 8 and Google Maps problem!

Ever since upgrading to Firefox 8 (I don't recall this problem using firefox 7.01) using maps.google.com if I search for something like watertown, wi or greendale, wi it will work the first time or so. Then afterawhile it will just say "loading" and stop working. This is on Windows XP Pro 32bit.
I have completely re-installed firefox from scratch (deleted all settings) and started over. But, it does the same thing!
    Help!

I have this same problem with Firefox 9.0.1, but not with explorer; "problem" = destination and location markers in Google Maps don't appear and hence can't be clicked and dragged, really limiting usefulness. Problem began a few weeks ago, maybe when Firefox updated. Haven't added any new add-ons. Tried opening Firefox in safe mode, tried the add-on posted here, tried the various Tools>Internet Options suggested here, none worked.

  • Google maps problem on my X3-02

I can't accept the Ts&Cs of google maps on my nokia X3-02. Pls, any solutions yet?

    Hello rish and welcome to the forums;
I haven't noticed this behavior myself, so a few questions I would have for you would be:
    1. What software version are you on? Open the keyboard and type "DEV" on the keyboard, then open Device Info and look at the Version Number.
    2. Does it happen for every google image search, or only specific ones?
    3. Can you try the search over Wi-Fi and see if it loads correctly there?
    4. Can you provide examples of  what image searches are not working for you?
Life moves fast. Don't miss a thing.

Search this forum for answers and discussions.
Basically, your machine will need a "fully qualified hostname" e.g. myhostname.mydomain.com, only myhostname is not enough.
Also, AS does not allow the IP to change after install e.g. no DHCP (dynamically allocated IP) allowed!

In order to use the Google Maps widget in iWeb, Apple will need to fix their server-side issues. This is happening because the service for the widget resides on ".mac" servers, which are in transition to "MobileMe" currently. However, there is a wrokaround:
Simply visit maps.google.com and input your address. Then, click the hyperlink labeled "Link to this page" in the upper-right hand corner. Copy the line of code in the "Paste HTML to embed in website" field. Then, in iWeb, insert the "HTML Snippet" widget (instead of Google Maps widget) and paste the above code. If you want the "Directions To Here" and "Directions From Here" links to work, remember to enable hyperlinks on the snippet. Hope that helps!

  • Google maps problem...please help...!

I've got an iPhone 4 running 4.0 software and I have an issue with google maps. The program seems to operate fine with one exception...all my interstate and state highway labels are placed underneath the roadway...in other words the roadways are on top of the labels and I can't see the labels because of it. Smaller street labels are fine, it's just the state and interstate highways.
Anyone else having this issue??? Please help!
    Brian

The only thing that covers the names on mine is the "Live Traffic" overlay line. If select "Hide Traffic" all names are visible as normal.

  • Oracle forms application login cursor problem

    Hi,
Goodmorning to all. I've a problem here. I've an application in Forms 6i istalled in my system which has a problem in the Login page where when you press the Tab button, the cursor is moving from one item to another. It is working fine in another system but this is the client's system on which I'm facing the problem . I reinstalled the application 3 times but to no effect. Can anyone help me out?
    Thanks in advance,
    Nitin

You really were not very clear. What exactly is the problem? Is the cursor not moving, is it moving to the wrong item, etc?
Additionally, is this a web form or client/server? What is the client platform and version? If a web form, which browser and version? If web, which Jinitiator or Sun JRE version? What is the complete Forms 6i version?

  • On a mac, I have lost the Scaler on Google map. I think that it is Firefox problem because the map scaler is present with Safari. Thank You

On a mac, I have lost the map scaler on Google map. I think that it is Firefox problem because the map scaler is present with Safari, so it seems that it is not a Google map problem. Thank You

Firefox 4 requires at least OS X 10.5 and an Intel Mac. There is a third party version of Firefox 4 that runs on OS X 10.4/10.5 and PPC Macs, for details see http://www.floodgap.com/software/tenfourfox
If you prefer, you can get the latest version of Firefox 3.6 from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html

  • Google maps don't work properly with ADF

    Hi!
I have tried to integrate Google maps with ADF http://blogs.oracle.com/middleware/2010/06/integrating_google_maps_with_adf.html. This tutorial works good, but then I insert the same code in real ADF application Google maps don’t work properly, there are problems with zoom buttons, map doesn’t display right region but shows another one (does it with offset) etc.
Can be this issues connected with ADF Security? Or there are some other things in my project which doesn’t allow JavaScript to work correctly?

    andrejs,
I just tried the tutorial (works fine) and the tutorial with ADF security (works fine). It seems to be something more specific to your application than anything else.

  • GIS Coldfusion Google Maps Spatial MySQL

i found mysql's spatial bits limited (for instance, if i
    recall right, it's
early point-in-polygon searches were simple bounding box,
    which is kind of iffy
for really complex polygons) compared to postGIS.

not sure what you mean, "what is hype and what is real about
    spatial databases"?
they all do pretty much what they're supposed to do, some
    betters than others.
some have more "value" than others--when you get into big GIS
    applications, s/w
cost isn't a really big "value" issue, the data & what
    you're managing usually
cost 1000x what the s/w cost. some work more easily w/cf than
    others but all the
ones i have used can work w/it one way or another.
