Oracle Reporting ActiveX Control vs. Internet Explorer

Including an Oracle reporting Activex Control in a commonly Html file for Internet Explorer it works fine (generate the report) but it does'nt generate the events (BeforeRunReport,AfterRunReport).
I mention that in other development tools (Visual C++,VB,Devloper6,...) It is OK.
Example code :
<OBJECT ID="XREP" CLASSID="CLSID:289D6F9F-2A7D-11CF-AD05-0020AF0BA9E2">
<PARAM NAME="ReportName" VALUE="d:\temp\test.rep">
<PARAM NAME="OutputDestination" VALUE="2">
<PARAM NAME="OutputName" VALUE="d:\temp\test1.htm">
<PARAM NAME="DatabaseUser" VALUE="adi/adi@adi">
<PARAM NAME="OutputDriver" VALUE="HTMLCSSIE">

<SCRIPT LANGUAGE="VBScript">

document.write("Before")
End Sub
Sub XREP_AfterRunReport(x, y)
document.write("After")
End Sub
DIM XXX
XXX = XREP.RunReportSimple()
-->
</SCRIPT>
Please tell me what it is wrong in this code because the events "BeforeRunReport","AfterRunReport" didn't fire at all.

  • Getting bobj is undefined when report is viewed in Internet Explorer 8

    Background
    We are running a web application on a server that has "BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1 FP 2.6 Update" installed on it.
    The server uses the 1.1 .net framework.
    This web app can generate Crystal reports and display them either by exporting to pdf, or by using the CrystalReportViewer control.
    (The CrystalDecisions references in the sln for the website are using version 12.0.1100.0.
    The web app is a custom web app that is not defined in iis at the default level.  It lives as a virtual website under the default website and uses the crystalreportviewers12 virtual directory.)
    when the browser displays a report by exporting to pdf, it works just fine.
    Here is our issue:
    When the browser displays a report by using the CrystalReportViewer control using Internet Explorer 8 (IE8), it generates a javascript error:
    'bobj' is undefined
    Here are a few peculiar things on this:
    - the report displays ok for other IE8 users (so the issue only occurs for select IE8 users).
    - the report displays ok in ie6.
    - One notable observation is that IE8 has different sets of options amongst browsers.  We compared 2 machines that didnu2019t work, with 1 machine that does work. All 3 sets of IE8 settings differ in one way or another.
    Does anyone know if this is an issue that that can be fixed through an IE8 setting?  Or does it need to be fixed elsewhere?  Thank you!

    Hi Brownie,
    We only support IE 8 in Compatibility mode. Try selecting that option in the Browser and test again

  • ActiveX Filtering in Internet Explorer

    If you have completed the steps in our Enabling Flash Player in Internet Explorer 9 FAQ and continue to have problems seeing Flash content, please see the following video and instructions to learn how to disable ActiveX Filtering.
    Please click here for an HTML5 version of this video: YouTube HTML5 HD Link
    Internet Explorer 9 and ActiveX Filtering
    ActiveX Filtering is a new feature for Internet Explorer 9 which allows you to browse the Web without running any ActiveX controls.  Flash Player is an ActiveX control and when filtering is enabled Flash content will not be displayed on a webpage.
    When you visit a webpage that contains ActiveX controls, and filtering is enabled, IE will display a "circle with slash" icon (see screenshot below) in the address bar to indicate that controls have been filtered.
    Flash content and video will not be displayed on the page until you have disabled ActiveX filtering.  Fortunately, you have a few options for enabling ActiveX content.
    Disable ActiveX Filtering for all websites
    Open Internet Explorer 9 and click on the gears icon in the upper right corner of the window.
    Select the Safety Menu, and then uncheck the ActiveX Filtering menu item.
    Alternately you can also access this via the Tools menu on the menu bar, then unchecking ActiveX Filtering.
    Disable ActiveX Filtering for individual websites that you trust
    Navigate to a page with blocked content, noted with the circle with slash icon.
    Click the circle with slash icon
    Click the "Turn off ActiveX Filtering" button

    Me too. Thanks a million, Chris. Without you, I would go crazy pulling my hair off.
    I tried everything I possible could, you name it, I did it, but I was kept advised to download
    and install the latest flash version. The next step I would try to uninstall IE9 and re-install IE8,
    because I did not have such an issue when I was using IE8. If this fails, I would even try to
    buy a new computer. Finally, I came across this forum and find your answer.
    I follow your instructions, and finally I DID IT. I can see all videos now.
    Many many thanks to you Chris. You save me a lot of work and money.

  • Bypassing Activate Flash Control in Internet Explorer

    I am working on a website in Dreamweaver that uses a Flash
    based navigation bar. However, IE makes the user click once to
    "activate" the SWF, and then the user must click again on the
    button on the navbar to access the page the button points to. This
    makes it harder for the user to use the nav bar in IE, and more
    than 95% of the client's website users will be using Internet
    Explorer. I have heard about a way to bypass this, and
    automatically "activate" the control.
    Is this something that is easy to fix? Is there just a piece
    of HTML code that I can paste in?
    Thanks,

    Do a search query like this "Active Content" around Adobe

    At that Active Content Developer Center, where you will get
    more detailed information on resolution or workaround solution to
    your problem.
    Hope that helps.

  • How to control and display video from IP camera using ActiveX control over Internet.

    Hello,
    I need to control my IP cameras over the internet. I need to log into the cameras and then display the video.  There's an ActiveX control registered on the computer and works fine with IE to access and control the cameras. Controlling the cameras using IE works fairly well, but there are some quirks that I'd like to eliminate by using my own custom code.
    Has anyone created a vi that controls a Foscam FI8905W over the Internet? I’ve attempted, but I keep getting a catastrophic failure when I try to call ManagementConnect Method in the DVM_IPCam2 ActiveX Control Module V1.0. I'm not sure whether I need to establish an IP connection with the cameras first, or allow the ActiveX control to establish it for me.
    Some example code would be greatly appreciated. Running LabVIEW 2011 on a Win7 32bit.  Even some code used to control a similar device using ActiveX over Internet would be helpful.

    I have an example vi for interfacing to the foscam activex.
    I plan on using mouse click events within the activex window to trigger the PT function.
    I only have the basic up/down/right/left directions and not the down-right/down-left/up-right/up-left in the enum.  You can load the camera's web page and view the source to see the Java script code that uses the activex control.  There are definitions for the other directions.
    I had to mark the control as "Disabled" to keep click events from going to the activex control.  If I double click the control, it goes full screen.  If I then click on it to get out of full screen mode the video never returns or returns to the wrong spot in the VI.

  • Report to show major Internet Explorer version

    There's many posts relating to an accurate way of reporting on which version of Internet Explorer is being used by a PC. It is not made easy by the fact that some versions are recorded in Add/Remove programs, while other versions aren't, and there
    seems to be some dependency on whether it was installed with the O/S or later upgraded via WSUS etc etc.
    Here's the report I've creating (using file versions of iexplore.exe) - which works OK, but what I'd really like is if I could 'roll up' the results into a count of major versions. So instead of having seperate lines for 7.00.6000.16386 and 7.00.6000.17055
    (for instance), it just gives me one line for v7, one for v8 etc.
    Any ideas how this could be achieved?

  • Crystal Reports, Classical ASP and Internet Explorer 8.0 compatibility

    Hi
    We have 8 legacy applications which are developed on classical asp having reports built on crystal reports 8.0. Our internet explorer version is 6.0. We are planning to upgrade to IE 8.0 in the next month. While testing these legacy applications for compatibility with IE 8.0, we found that the crystal reports are not visible/not functioning.
    Do you know which version of crystal reports will be compatible with IE 8.0 as well as classical asp. Our OS is windows 2003 32 bit.
    regards

    Hello,
    You didn't indicate whether you're using the RDC / COM SDK for Crystal Reports, or the COM SDK for Crystal Enterprise in your classic ASP applications.
    In either case, the COM SDKs have been retired with our current product releases. The last products to support the COM SDK are Crystal Reports XI Release 2 (v11.5) and BusinessObjects Enterprise Release 2 (v11.5). Both of these products have reached End of Life for patch support.
    The [Supported Platform document for Crystal Reports XI R2 with Service Pack 6|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/index?rid=/library/uuid/e0fbebaf-07e0-2c10-ad9a-d45810ae7109] (v11.5) says that IE8 in compatibility mode is supported, so the RDC should work in IE8 Compatibility mode.
    The [Support Platform document for BusinessObjects XI R2 with Service Pack 6|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/index?rid=/library/uuid/50e8f572-48d0-2c10-4ea6-83bf8567e28a] (v11.5) says that IE7 is supported. There is no mention of IE8, but it's possible that IE8 in compatibility mode may work with the Enterprise COM SDK.
    You may still be able to purchase these products. You'll have to check with your retailers, or with the SAP BusinessObjects Sales team - search on SAP.com.
    It is important to understand that patch support has ended for both CR XI R2 and BOE XI R2. There will be no additional fixes released for these products, and if your applications do not work with IE 8 there is no escalation path for a fix.
    Sincerely,
    Dan Kelleher

  • ActiveX settings in Internet Explorer for ZCI

    Hi all,
    regarding to SAP Note 766191 ACF needs several ActiveX components activated to work within a WebDynpro.
    I searched the SAP Notes database for similar notes regarding ZCI but didn't found any.
    After try and error I found out that ZCI needs the same ActiveX settings in the Internet Explorer like ACF as well.
    But the customer has all ActiveX components deactivated, so my question is:
    Is there an alternative for ActiveX or is ActiveX a must for working with IF (within WebDynpro)?
    Kind regrards,
    Alex

    Hello Maarten,
    sadly, your answer didn't help, because this is the same what SAP says.
    But "After try and error I found out that ZCI needs the same ActiveX settings in the Internet Explorer like ACF as well."
    This is the reality on my test system. I created a ZCI form, added the necessary scripting, changed the layout type for the form / for the WebDynpro ABAP to ZCI / native and it only works pretty fine as long as I have the named ActiveX components activated...
    Maybe you would like to test it on one of your systems, I would be interessted if you had the same problem when deactivating the ActiveX components.
    Besides, my test system is the SAP NW2004s Trial Version with SP12 right here from the SDN and I connected another Trial Version of NW2004s with a Java Stack.
    Kind regards,
    Alex

  • Oracle ADF 11G R1 and Internet Explorer 11 Support

    Hello,
    I need to write my own post even if issue is written on this thread (https://forum.java.sun.com/thread/2602720) Because i suppose that post writer reached to his useful workaround  and no activity seems for a couple of months.
    Use 11.1.1.6 and Win8.1 IE11
    I did not find any solution or workaround which runs properly. Any comments are welcome.
    merry christmast

    The reason for this is that there is no solution at the moment. Oracle is working on one. Also check https://groups.google.com/forum/m/#!msg/adf-methodology/NP4g98AvrCw/uYf_cvDna_0J
    To my knowledge you have to open a SR with support.oracle.com and ask them for help to get the back port of the solution once it's ready.
    If you have a support contract you'll find a note for IE11 THERE too.

  • Cannot get Excel Report to display on Internet Explorer

    Hi,
    We have an issue with displaying Excel reports on IE on some client machines. A window just pops up and closes. The reports run fine on Firefox and I was able to run it on IE earlier. I had this report working before on all application servers. Now I cannot get output on browser from dev. and test app servers after a small fix in the report. But I can still run the production version.
    Note that I can get the Excel output when I use 'getjobid' from an url :
    http://server:port/reports/rwservlet/getjobid1887?server=xxx&mimetype=application/vnd.ms-excel
    This is the code to output the report:
    SHOWDOCINFO :='/reports/rwservlet/getjobid'||JOBID||'?server='||REPORTSERVER||'&mimetype=application/vnd.ms-excel';
    The funny thing is my colleague can run the report on his pc without any problem. Is there some issue with the browser setting ?

    Yes. I use WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT in the calling form. The window that pops up is an IE window. Yes we both use IE 7.0.
    I noticed today that if I uncheck the 'always ask before opening this type of file' on the File Download window, I can get it to work. How do I change this setting?

  • SSRS 2014 Printer Control Icon missing in Internet Explorer 11

    I'm trying to determine what the latest status is with the printer control on Internet Explorer 11.
    We have a Windows 2012 Server R2 running SQL 2014 and I've installed the latest report viewer distributable (2012 server.)
    In IE 11 I still cannot see the printer control icon.
    Is there a known, reliable fix for this or can I just assume that the printer icon is a pre-IE 11 feature?
    Thank You!

    Hi Bob,
    Based on my understanding, printer button is not available when previewing the report in IE11.
    In Reporting Service, each user who wants to use the print feature must download and install the ActiveX control that provides client print functionality. As we tested in our environment, with ActiveX control installed, the printer button is available in
    IE11 (SSRS 2014 on Windows Server 2012 R2). So in your scenario, please check if you have installed Active control. If not, please enable the setting Download signed ActiveX controls in Internet Explorer, then you can install the required control. For more
    information, please refer to steps below:
    1.Click Tools -> Internet options.
    2.Switch to the Security tab, select the Trusted sites zone, and then click
    Sites.
    3.Type the URL of Report Server, click Add, and then click
    Close .
    4.Click the Custom level button, scroll to the ActiveX controls and plug-ins node.
    5.Click Enable for Download signed ActiveX controls, and then click
    OK.
    If issue persists, please check if value of EnableClientPrinting is True in SSMS. Please refer to the screenshot below:
    Reference:
    Enable and Disable Client-Side Printing for Reporting Services
    If you have any question, please feel free to ask.

    When trying to play games in IWin the message comes up and says and beeps that the ActiveX controls isn't working on some level. Do I need to worry about this message? If I do, how do I go about fixing this problem. Do I need to upgrade this control?

    Hi idpress2002, the only browser that runs ActiveX controls is Internet Explorer.
