Oracle Reports in Release 12.

Is 'All the Standard Oracle Apps Reports in Release 11i have been converted to XML reports in Release 12' a correct statement?

That's not true, standard reports output format is still as it was in 11i
For example:
Active Users: Text
Active Responsibilties: Text
R12 has couple of formats for the concrrunt programs (i.e. Text, PS, PDF, XML, FO, PCL, HTML)

  • Oracle Reports 9i release date???

    Dear All,
    Has there been a release date set for Oracle Reports 9i? We are having some serious installation issues with Oracle Reports 6i clashing with Oracle 8.0.6 database, 9i Application Server, and trying to get the demos installed so that we can really learn how to use this tool that seems like it will definitely fit our web app reporting needs.
    Thanks in advance for any info,
    Jeff

    Almost a week later, and still no change to the Express Edition download page. There must be some last minute bugs to fix.
    At least 11gR2 XE fixes the problem (that exists with 10gR2 XE) on Windows where starting the Oracle XE service does not open the database.
    Edit: that Oracle newsletter has been edited. It now says: "Oracle Database, Express Edition 11g is now available for download as a beta release, +and the production release is imminent+."

    Hello Sulakshana,

    For Reports 6i integration with Oracle9iAs Portal see the Oracle9iAS Documentation Library under "Business Intelligence Services", "Oracle Reports Service", "Publishing Reports to the Web" Section 5.4 Integration with Oracle Portal. Another resource to check out is the Reports page on OTN at: http://technet.oracle.com/products/reports/ and the whitepaper "Security Tips in Oracle Reports Services Release 6i with Oracle Portal Release 3.0".
    For Forms 6i, integration is accomplished at the URL level - simply create a portlet (HTML portlet, folder portlet, dynamic page portlet, etc.) that contains the Form's application URL. Users with a Java-enabled browser click on the link and the form is launched in a separate window. In theory you could copy the Forms applet tag within a dynamic page component, start it in place, and expose as a portlet, but will likely experience unacceptable page rendering performance waiting for the Forms applet to start.
    If SSO is important, you can configure Forms as an external application with the Login Server using Forms dynamic start feature. Be aware that Forms is using the 'get' method not the 'post' method and that you will see the username/password in the URL (this will change in a future release).
    The next generation of Forms, code named Cherokee, will provide highly interactive HTML forms directly within a portlet. Developers can use Cherokee much like they use Oracle9iAS Forms to declaratively build data entry forms that function like the Java or client/server-based forms of the past, but instead are rendered in pure HTML. <HR></BLOCKQUOTE>

  • How to add Oracle Graphics 6i charts (OGD) to my Oracle Reports 10g

    Hi,
    Is there any possibility to add Oracle Graphics 6i Charts (.OGD) to Oracle Reports 10g
    (OR)
    If not possible, Can you please provide steps to migrate OGD to any format that is supported in Oracle Reports 10g.
    Regards,
    Swethan

    Oracle Graphics and its OGD image format are no longer supported. Reports built with previous versions of Oracle Reports containing Oracle Graphics charts will continue to run in Oracle Reports 10g Release 2 (10.1.2) if the Oracle Graphics 6i runtime is installed on the same machine in a separate ORACLE_HOME. However, this is not a supported configuration, and Oracle will not fix bugs that result from this configuration.
    Re-create all Oracle Graphics 6i objects using the Graph Wizard

    Hi,
    May I know why you need to start admin server in both the physically separated server. If you want to achieve HA solution for admin server, then do the clustering in such a way that Admin server will run in Active-Passive mode.
    You can refer the same document that you have mentioned.

  • Do Oracle Reports exist in Release 12?

    Hi,
    Does Applications Release 12 have Standard Reports in Oracle Developer Reports?
    Thanks,
    Salim

    Would that mean that if I created a custom report executable abc.rdf, I would still be able to register this report in Oracle Applications Release 12 and run it as a concurrent program.
    From the above two posts I am still a little confused about Oracle Apps Standard Reports, so I will rephrase the question:
    Is 'All the Standard Oracle Apps Reports in Release 11i have been converted to XML reports in Release 12' a correct statement?

  • Oracle reports 6i to Oracle forms 10g migration

    Hi,
    I have .rdf files which were created on Oracle Reports 6i. I would like to migrate the .rdf files into Oracle Reports module which is present as a part of Oracle Forms 10g to generate PDF output.
    Please let me know the detailed steps to be followed as I am a total newbie. Also I need to generate these reports on demand from a java 5 application (JSF 2.0).
    Currently for ORacle reports 6i, I have the following code in my java application
    rwrun60.exe g:\tomcat33\webapps\reports\web-inf\src\null userid=***/*** destype=FILE desformat="pdf" paramform=NO printjob=NO batch=YES desname=temp.pdf
    1. What would be the equivalent for reports in ORacle Forms 10g ? I know there is an Oracle Apps server where ther report services reside. How to I invoke my report from my java application (residing on a weblogic server 10.3.6)?
    2. What ould I do with the 6i .rdf files to upgrade them to 10g ?

    I am trying to call an Oracle report i.e .rdf (which is located on the Oracle  App Server) from my java EE 5 (JSF) application. The Oracle  App server is Oracle Application Server 10g Release 2. I assume Oracle report generation capability is available in this release.  I need to invoke the report from my Java JSF application on demand (whenever the user clicks a button on the web browser page, the report should appear on the browser as PDF) . My java application resides on Linux weblogic server.
    Please let me know how it can be done ? I see rwclient.sh and another method to directly invoke using a URL. How do I do it on java, would a request.redirect() to the URL work ?
    Also for hiding the params in the URL. keys need to be configured on the Oracle server right ?
    Also if we use rwclient.sh or the URL based invocation, would there be any issue in concurrency when multiple users request the same report at the same time ?

  • Oracle Reports 6i with Oracle 8.1.7?

    Solaris 7 (sparc)
    Oracle RDBMS 8.1.7
    Reports 6i (release 2)
    I am trying to install Reports 6i on a machine that has Oracle RDBMS 8.1.7 installed already. The last time I tried installing to the same ORACLE_HOME it corrupted all my executables. After reading the docs again, I noticed the Reports docs say Reports requires Orcle 8.0.6. I thought it might be better to install to a new ORACLE_HOME (/u01/app/oracle/product/8.0.6), however, there is no RDBMS installed there and the installer complains.
    Could someone offer some suggestions on how it should be installed in this type of environment. What steps should be followed to allow Oracle Reports 6i to co-exist peacefully on the same machine/ORACLE_HOME as the Oracle 8.1.7 instance.
    Thanks

  • Oracle Reports Server CGI - Report Job was cancelled upon user request.

    I am running reports on the web through Forms using Run_Report_Object built in. I am using Oracle 9iAS Enterprise Edition Release 1(1.2.2.2.2), Forms 6i Patch 9 (6.0.8.18.3) and Reports 6i Patch 9 (6.0.8.18) using CGI implementation. Most reports are running fine, but I have one that produces 125 pages and we are getting the following messages in the browser:
    Error: The requested URL was not found, or cannot be served at this time.
    Oracle Reports Server CGI - Report Job was cancelled upon user request.
    However if you look at the Reports Server Queue Status thru the browser it shows that the report did finish, but it took 16 minutes. But the user gets the above message in their browser window.
    Is there a way to get the first page of the report to display, while the rest of the report finishes, so the browser window doesn't timeout and display the above error?
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    hi ,
    There is no limit on the report run time. The most probable reason why you are getting the 'Report cancelled upon user request' message is the users might have hit the "cancel Report" button which is displayed when it is running in 'SYNCHRONOUS MODE'. do not hit that button as it will terminate the report. to increase the speed of returning the results by the report, try improving the sql that you use in the report, or if you have DBA rights try adding in INDEXES on the columns of the tables used by the report.
    Hope this helps

    Can neone plz explain the example and how to use it

    Ok, for the release 2 its quite straightfoward, in your calling form you would have something like this code:
    declare
         pl_id ParamList;
    repid REPORT_OBJECT;
    v_rep VARCHAR2(100);
    v_rep_status VARCHAR2(20);
    v_repsrv     VARCHAR2(100):= 'yourreportserver';
    v_serv varchar2(50) := 'yourservername' ;
    begin
    pl_id := Get_Parameter_List('tmpdata');
    if not id_null(pl_id) then
    Destroy_Parameter_List( pl_id );
    end if;
    pl_id := Create_Parameter_List('tmpdata');
    Add_Parameter(pl_id,'DESTYPE' ,TEXT_PARAMETER,'Screen' );
    Add_Parameter(pl_id,'PARAMFORM' ,TEXT_PARAMETER,'NO' );
    repid := FIND_REPORT_OBJECT('yourreport');     SET_REPORT_OBJECT_PROPERTY(repid,REPORT_COMM_MODE,SYNCHRONOUS);
    SET_REPORT_OBJECT_PROPERTY(repid,REPORT_EXECUTION_MODE,RUNTIME);
    SET_REPORT_OBJECT_PROPERTY(repid,REPORT_SERVER, v_repsrv);
    set_report_object_property(repid,REPORT_DESTYPE,CACHE );
    set_report_object_property(repid,REPORT_DESFORMAT,'SPREADSHEET' );
    v_rep := RUN_REPORT_OBJECT(repid,pl_id);
    v_rep := substr(v_rep,length(v_repsrv)+2,10 ) ;
    end;
    I have plenty of reports being formated to excel with this same method so it should work for you, the only diference with my previous code is this line.
    set_report_object_property(repid,REPORT_DESFORMAT,'SPREADSHEET' );
    The rest remains untouched.
    Hope it helps.

  • Interfacing of oracle report builder and java

    hi all,
    I have build a report using Oracle Report Builder 10g.Now i want to make use of this report in displaying the data in IE using core java.
    This is the first time i am using the Oracle Report Builder .
    Can anyone tell me how to proceed in right direction?Do i need to have some specific Jar,Environment to accomplish this task?
    Thanks in advance

    I'm not sure what version of the product you're using, but since you're just installing it may well be the base version (6.0.8.8.3).
    Similar issues were addressed in a patch release (6.0.8.12), which was related to issues with some types of keyboard. You may want to upgrade to the latest patch release and retry.

  • Changing Oracle Report Output Format at runtime

    Dear All,
    I've custom Oracle Report in Oracle Apps., and would like to give the users an option to select the output format (XML, TEXT, PDF, etc.) whilst submitting the request.
    As a SYSADMIN, we can modify the Output Format value of the concurrent program(Oracle Report in this case) to one we like.
    But I would like the user to select this output format option at runtime, rather then hard coding at SYSADMIN level. For that I've to create a Value Set with the desired report output format options, and attach this to the concurrent program.
    My question is, how we can make the desired output format to work at runtime?
    If any one can help?
    Thanks,
    Sandeep

    Hi Steve,
    I couldn't get it...???
    I'm running an Oracle Report in Oracle Apps. release 11.5.9
    The default output format of this report is TEXT, which is defined in its concurrent program.
    This report is submitted using standard request submission screen, and after successful completion we can view the output by pressing "View Output" button on "Requests" screen. This will open an another window and we can view the output page by page. Using "Tools>Copy File..." menu option, we can view the same output in IE window.
    Now, how does your resolution fits here and how can I view the same report in XML format?
    Many Thanks,
    Sandeep
