Oracle Sequence not incrementing Properly

I created a sequence in Oracle with increment by one.
But after 700 it is jumping to 736,766...................
I dont know why this is jumping like this.
plz tell me why it is happening like this.

Have you ever asked questions on Oracle forums? My
threads seem to follow a consistent route:
Well I don't want to question the veracity of your experiences surely there is a better forum for Oracle questions than this one? I mean even the JDBC forum would have been a better fit.
>
As to the original post; sounds like an overflow,
doesn't it? Really going to -1 but interpretted as
unsigned. How are you using the sequence, and how is
it defined?That's a strange number to be doing that at 700 if you ask me though I suppose it's possible.
My wild guess was going to be that the sequences in question were previously used and so were skipped. I don't really feel either way that the OP provided enough information about the problem they are experiencing or even indeed why it is a problem at all.

    1. JOB_QUEUE_PROCESSES to be non-zero
    2. A commit after submitting the job
    3. The job not to be broken.
    4. don't schedule very frequently (say <5s) if the os is Linux :( ).
    I'd check in the above order.

  • Oracle Projects not totaling properly after adjusts have been made 11i 11.5.10

    Hi Guru,
    The our Oracle Projects group is in the process of cleaning up CIP balances on Projects which are left after the Project has been interfaced once to Fixed Assets. We are using the ADJUST function to clear the balances and this is working well for STATE 1 and STATE 2, but it is not working very well for STATE 3 projects. We have 6 Projects in STATE 3 which when the adjust was done, the correct amount was passed to FA but the CIP/interfaced CIP totals on the Capital screen are incorrect. A method is needed to correct the Capital CIP balance.

    This is a very common issue.
    One way to avoid this is as follows
    1) Define a new item status called "Uncosted"
    2) On the Item status screen (Inventory > setup > item > status code), make Uncosted item status NON-transactable.
    3) Define a process where the item status changes from Uncosted to Active only after the item cost is entered. This can be done via a manual process or by a custom program that uses Item api to change the status.
    Hope this helps,

  • JPA: Oracle Sequence Generator not up to date

    Hi,
    I'm using the JPA Oracle Sequence Generator in one of my JPA classes:
    @Entity
    @Table(name = "DACC_COST_TYPE")
    public class JPACostType implements Serializable {
    @SequenceGenerator(name = "CostTypeGenerator", sequenceName = "DACC_COST_TYPE_SEQ")
        @Column(name = "ID_COST_TYPE")
        @Id @GeneratedValue(strategy = GenerationType.SEQUENCE, generator = "CostTypeGenerator")
        private Integer idCostType;
    In order to persist a new object I perform the following code:
    @PersistenceContext
    private EntityManager em;
    JPACostType myJPA = new JPACostType();
    myJPA.setIdCostType = null;
    em.merge(myJPA);
    em.flush();
    Normally this works fine. But after deploying the app there sometimes happens an error:
    Caused by: javax.persistence.PersistenceException: SQLException while inserting entity {com.karmann.dacc.ejb.busilog.jpa.JPACostType(idCostType=4)}.
    at com.sap.engine.services.orpersistence.core.PersistenceContextImpl.flush(PersistenceContextImpl.java:278)

    ... 52 more
    Caused by: java.sql.SQLException: ORA-00001: unique constraint (AEMA.DACC_COST_TYPE_PK) violated
    Obviously JPA does not fetch the new key by accessing the Oracle sequence. This documents "next value = 5". Does JPA fetch the new key from its cache? Is there any possibility to avoid this?
    Thanks for each hint,
    Christoph

    Hello Christoph Schäfer  ,
    I am stuck with a similar issue. I was able to save mutiple entries and there has not been much change to my JPA. I added new entities and new sequences.
    Now, I get the error Caused by: javax.persistence.PersistenceException: java.sql.SQLException: ORA-02289: Sequence ist nicht vorhanden.
    I have checked the name of sequence and sequence next val on the DB. It works on DB but when i execute it from ejb, it gives me thsi error. Now, it gives the error for all previously working JPA entities.
    I have also provided allocationSize = 1 for all entities.
    Please let me know, possible cause/solution to this issue.
    thank you.

  • Arabic is not displayed properly in Oracle Forms...

    Hi,
    I'm using oracle 9i database and forms 6i. mt database contains arabic data and the character set of database is "UTF8". when i display the data in arabic in forms, it is giving junk characters. i set the NLS_LANG for forms to UTF8 in the registry. still the arabic is not showing properly.
    pl. tell me how i can resolve this problem.
    regards
    george

    Hi Gregor
    I think you're out of luck. There is no Arabic language pack for Xcelsius.
    When you're in design mode, you're using the Windows OS features, but when you try to preview or export then Xcelsius begins the process of converting the xlf to a swf. And since there is no lang pack it doesn't know what to do with the Arabic characters.

  • Oracle sequence problem in CMP Entity EJB

    I have a problem with Oracle sequence when I am using from the CMP entity EJB in WebLogic
    6.1:
    The problem is when the WebLogic server starts it acquires the correct sequence number
    from Oracle, but during the runtime, when I open a new sqlplus window and increment
    the sequence number, the container is not picking up from the new incremented value
    instead it is still continuining by incrementing the old sequence number it has acquired
    when it fetched from Oracle last time.
    The sequence increment and key-cache-size in weblogic-cmp-rdbms-jar.xml are exactly
    same
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Change the key-cache-size to 1 in weblogic-cmp-rdbms-jar.xml and then try

  • Flashback Reclaimable Does Not Work Properly

    We saw the strange behavior of flashback reclaimable space as it does not work properly if the PERCENT_SPACE_USED of v$flash_recovery_area_usage is near to 100 (99.9x). As we are running Oracle 10gR2 (Cluster & RAC) to manage our production RAC database, it is a two node RAC. on IBM AIX 6.1
    Today at 9:00 AM, we observed that 97% reclaimable space was available. And db_recovery_file_dest_size is 460 GB out of 600 GB (mount point). No other process is being used this mount point for any IO, it is reserved for flashback only. We left 140 GB space free on mount point to over come any dynamic space requirement for flashback.
    At 10:00AM we received out of space message in alert log file and during 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM 10 to 15 archive logs were created and at 9:50AM some archive log were also deleted automatically by oracle server(default behavior). Please see the output below.
    FILE_TYPE PERCENT_SPACE_USED PERCENT_SPACE_RECLAIMABLE NUMBER_OF_FILES
    CONTROLFILE 0 0 0
    ONLINELOG 0 0 0
    ARCHIVELOG 99.9 98 1520
    BACKUPPIECE 0 0 0
    IMAGECOPY 0 0 0
    FLASHBACKLOG 0 0 0
    It is really a strange behavior, please is there any one who face the same issue or what may be the reason for this ?

    Dear CKPT,
    we daily have 3 times archive log backup and after every backup we do crosscheck. as is mentioned earlier, 99% space was shown as used and but on the other hand 97% space was also shown as reclaimable. so on these bases we are very confused , why oracle behaves like this and throw error in alert log as below

  • Trigger/Sequence not in ddl preview when comparing models

    Hi,
    I've a problem with incremental DDL generation and trigger/sequence (auto-increment).
    First case :
    I've created a table and generated it in my Oracle database.
    Then, I've defined on my primary key column the "Auto-increment" and "Identity column" to Yes (and of course sequence and trigger names filled).
    If I generate DDL (File/Export or Generate DDL button), no problem. The DDL script contains the sequence and trigger defined in auto-increment properties.
    But if I compare my model and the database (Import data dictionnary, swap target...), the sequence and the trigger are not in the DDL preview.
    Second case :
    If I create a new table in my relational model, with filled auto-increment properties, and then I compare model and db, the new table is created, with associated sequence and trigger. This is completely normal.
    Last case :
    A trigger manually defined in physical model is not in DDL preview if the table already exists in database. If the table doesn't already exist in db, all statements (table, sequence, trigger) are generated.
    my conclusion : auto-increment properties are not taken into account in the incremental DDL generation if the table already exists.
    Can you confirm this ?
    thanks
    regards
    Fabrice
    (Data modeler 3.1.4)

    Hi Fabrice,
    A trigger manually defined in physical model is not in DDL preview if the table already exists in database.Yes. This is true.
    my conclusion : auto-increment properties are not taken into account in the incremental DDL generation if the table already exists.The actual situation is that auto-increment properties are not taken into account in the incremental DDL generation if the column already exists.

  • Lightroom Bug: with GoPro Hero4 Silver Lens Profile, crop settings do not sync properly in Lightroom 5.7.1 when Constrain To Warp is checked

    I was having a bit of difficultly in getting crop settings to properly sync in Lightroom 5.7.1 (running on OS X 10.10.1) when Constrain to Warp was checked.  This appears to be a bug in the latest version(s) of Lightroom that include(s) the GoPro Hero4 Silver Lens Profile settings.  I'm working with a lot of files from a GoPro Hero4 Silver camera shot in the time-lapse / interval timer mode.  All of them are horizontal with the same resolution (and dimensions).  I've tried various sequences to get this to work in terms of using Auto-Sync, resetting the settings on all images except one and then copy and pasting settings, etc, though the crop is not properly syncing regardless of what I do.
    Here's are instructions of how to duplicate this issue (there are some extra details/steps here, though this should be clear enough to produce the same result):
         1.  in the Develop settings for a single selected image, go to Lens Corrections, click to Enable Profile Corrections (in the Profile tab), and then pick the GoPro Hero4 Silver Edition (Adobe Profile) if it is not automatically chosen for you (if you are using files from a Hero4 Silver camera).  After this, click on the Manual tab, and set the Scale setting to 76.  (as you will see, you now have the full horizontal width of the image that was getting cropped off, though you do see white around the edges that have been warped/shaped to correct the fisheye distortion)
         2.  Press the R key (or click on the Crop Overlay tool just below the histogram).  Change the Aspect option to Custom.  Click to unlock the lock next to it (this seems to re-lock after setting to custom even if it was locked before).  Place a checkmark next to the Constrain To Warp option.  (At this point, you'll see the image gets cropped back to an approximately 4:3 ratio and the full horizontal width is not included in the cropped area)  Click the upper right most corner of the crop area and drag as much to the right and top as it lets you go.  Do the same for the lower left corner, dragging it as far to the bottom left as you can go.  (Now, you will see that your cropped area is the maximum rectangular width and height you can select without getting any of the excessive white area)  Click the Close button (or press R again) to leave the crop overlay tool.
         3.  Press G to go back to the grid of images.  Make sure the image you just adjusted the settings for is the only one selected.  Right click on it, go to Develop Settings, and click Copy Settings.  Click Check All on the window that appears and then click Copy.
         4.  De-select the image you were working on.  Select multiple other images in the grid.  Right click on one of these, go to Develop Settings, and click Paste Settings.  (at this point, you will see their aspect ratio has become more panoramic than the 4:3 aspect ratio the images previously were)
         5.  De-select these images.  Select one of these image, and then press D to go to the Develop settings for this image.  Press R to go to the Crop Overlay tool.  Here you will see the bug where the crop was not properly copied over from the first image.  The selected area is smaller than the full width and height available to crop.
    It seems that the bug is that Lightroom is only copying the aspect ratio (and the other settings), but not the actual crop selection.
    I just thought of a workaround that I've tested and can confirm works (and will also work in a slightly different workflow than above).  In step 1 above, for the Model (and Profile), manually pick the "GoPro Hero4 Black Edition" or the "GoPro Hero3-Silver Edition".  If using the "Hero3-Silver" setting, the Scale (also in step 1 above) need only be set to 79 (rather than 76 for the Hero4 profiles).  By picking one of these Lens Profiles and doing everything else the same as the other steps above, the crop settings do copy and paste properly.  This does also appear to work properly when selecting the "GoPro Hero3-White Edition" Lens Profile, with a Scale setting of 75, which yields a slightly more rectilinear image (with a wider aspect ratio -- almost, but not quite 16:9).
    While this isn't too big of deal as it does work by picking one of the other lens profiles (and the Hero4 Black Edition profile appears to make the same exact correction to the image), this was incredibly frustrating last night to notice that some files had the proper horizontal field of view / crop and others didn't, and other users may experience this or not even notice their crop is not copied properly (as, depending on one's composition and image, it's not extremely obvious with such a wide view).
    I hope this discovery helps someone else and provides feedback for Adobe to correct this issue in the next version of Lightroom 5.
    On a separate, additional note for Adobe:  Please allow the crop overlay tool to "crop" an image to a size that is larger than the original dimensions of the image.  This would allow for one to retain maximum original sharpness in the center of the image when using the Lens Profile tool to correct, or "de-fish" a lens, without having to scale the image down with the Scale option on the Manual tab of the Lens Corrections settings.  For example, when I do the above process selecting the Hero3-White Edition profile, my final image dimensions are 3840 by 2257 pixels, reducing the size of the image in the center by 25%.  If the tool allowed one to crop/scale a larger image size, and I kept the Scale option of the Lens Corrections settings at 100 rather than 75, my final image dimensions would be 5120 by 3009 pixels (larger than the 4000 by 3000 pixel dimensions of the original image which the tool now limits me to).  Yes, the edges would be a little softer but the center would retain the original detail.  (this is essentially what the Calculate Optimal Size button found in the Hugin open source software does, when using it on a single image for lens transformations/corrections)

    Can you zip up a few of your GoPro images, upload them to dropbox.com and post a share link, here, so others can experiment with them, or do you mean this issue is global to all camera models?

    here jms is not working properly when i send message
    As we have clustered environment message must be propagated all the applications who use above jndi.properties.

  • View objects, view links, does not search properly

    Hi,
    I am using Jdev 11.1.2.0
    I have created a search criteria based on view objects and view links. It has entities and entity associations as base. The structure is as follow:
    vo1 ->vl (1 to 1) - > vo2
    ->vl ( 1 to many) -> vo3
    Any search attribute which is not from vo1 return bad result. It happens in running app module and in the jspx page. In app module, it sometimes complains about populating the wrong attribute for the named criteria.
    The search criteria is using "exists" statement for vo2 and vo3 for adding the conditions. It has many attributes within the exist statement.
    So what is the problem. Why it does not join properly? Why does it return bad result when search attribute is from vo2 and vo3? Please help.
    Any more information requires to solve the problem?
    Thanks,
    Arthur

    Hi,
    Two more information: vo1 is composed of Entity1 (1..M) Entity2 and Entity1 (1..1) Entity 3. vo2 is composed of Entity 2 and vo3 is composed of Entity 4.
    I follow the information from http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E16162_01/web.1112/e16182/bcquerying.htm#BCGIFHHF
    to create the search criteria.

  • Pick List Value Not Working Properly

    Hi Oracle Framework Gurus,
    I have a strange Issue in which one of my cusom page is working properly in Jdev and not working Properly when deployed in the apps instance.
    There are two custom pages with the same VO.
    What I do is have a picklist from one of the custom page and depending on the value of the picklist and I navigate to the other custom page.
    This is working properly in the JDev,But for some reasons it works properly in apps instance, when I try to run the first time(ie) when I run page A and pick 'X' from the picklist the Page 'B' is coming properly as per the controller code and when i pick 'Y' from the picklist in Page B, it is navigating to Page A as per the controller code.
    This works fine for the first time,But when i again select 'X' from the picklist the proper value from the Picklist is not getting selected and passed to the custom package and so I get wrong values in Page 'B'
    What could be the reason for it as it working fine in Jdev,I can navigate from Page A to Page B and Page B to Page A as many times possible.

    Hi Above two are the controller codes forget the rest of the codes,Concentrate on the PFR code, Just want to know what I am doing is correct or not.
    First time when I select the Picklist value,the value gets passed as a parameter to the custom package and the page gets displayed properly and vice versa,But I am not able to do the same cycle again for some reasons.
    Please get back to me ASAP.
    Regards,
    Magesh.M.K.
