Oracle SQL Developper

How to view data edited in Arabic langage by using Oracle SQL Developer

Since you have not mentioned OS version i would assume it is windows.
In order to view chinese characters I did :-
Start -> Control Panel -> Regional Settings / Regional & Language options ->
Go To -> Key Board & Language options (installed language that I wanted to use).
ALTER SESSION SET NLS_LANGUAGE='SIMPLIFIED CHINESE';
ALTER SESSION SET NLS_TERRITORY='CHINA';
And it worked fine in SQL Developer.

    Hello!
    Download jTDS - SQL Server and Sybase JDBC driver from http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=33291
    In Oracle SQL Developer open Tools -> Preferences
    Database -> Third Party JDBC Drivers
    Add Entry
    Browse the unzipped driver and add the jtds-1.2.jar file

  • Queries in SQL developper do not return anything?

    Hello there,
    First of I am completely new to Oracle and IT in general. Apart from having used computers since the heyday my knowledge of programming is very little. I have been reading Oracle documentation and bought the CBT nuggets tutorials to prepare for examination.
    I have followed the instructions to install the HR schema which worked in SQL*Plus but whenever i go into SQL developper and create a connection using the same username/password as I did in SQL*plus, then type in the select table_name from user_tables; query, nothing happens.
    What am I doing wrong? Am i simply not connecting to the same DB?
    Thanks in advance

    So when i set up the HR schema using SQL plus and was prompted to give a password for HR, i did that. Now when i open up the SQL plus (as administrator) and log in using username HR and the password i set for it, I can access the Schema's default tables such as employees.
    However on SQL developper, I open up a new connection called HR and put the same password that HR uses on SQL plus but whenever I attempt a select statement there are no returns. It just seems like SQL developper is not connected to the database.
    I am currently using the CBT nuggers tutorial for the fundamentals exam 1z0-051 and the tutorial uses both SQL developer and SQL plus.
    I appreciate all the responses but unfortunately I am stuck :(
    I get this message when i go to Query builder:
    Text is not a valid, single SELECT statement.
    Syntax Error at line 4, column 9
    select * employees;
    ^^^
    Expected: ',','BULK','FROM','INTO',BULK_COLLECT_opt,from_clause,into_list,

  • SQL Developper Reports

    I usually use a combination of Oracle SQL Developer and Toad on a daily basis.
    Recently, Toad has been going crazy on me, for some reason, McAfee starts going ballistic everytime TOAD is launched.
    My problem is that, SQL Developer doesn't work for "Reporting" (as far as I know), so I've always been forced to use TOAD instead.
    Does anyone know how to make "Reporting" possible in SQL developper? What I do is pretty simple, I'm writing reports to support an operation; the report contains the dates, client names etc. formatted in a certain (simple) manner. I then execute SQL queries and display the results at the bottom of the report header.
    Examples of code returning errors:
    line 1: SQLPLUS Command Skipped: set pagesize 9999
    line 2: SQLPLUS Command Skipped: set linesize 112
    line 4: SQLPLUS Command Skipped: column Reg FORMAT A9 HEADING 'REGION': only "column .. new_value .." supported
    line 5: SQLPLUS Command Skipped: column RELD FORMAT A12 HEADING 'RELEASE|DATE': only "column .. new_value .." supported
    The following:
    SET TERMOUT OFF
    COLUMN curdate NEW_VALUE report_date
    SELECT TO_CHAR(SYSDATE,'DD-MON-YYYY') curdate
    FROM DUAL;
    will display in the output window :
    CURDATE
    07-JAN-2011
    Instead of showing nothing (TERMOUT OFF).
    At the end of my output window, I see the results of my query but with the desired column names missing...
    Any ideas? How could I make this work?

    This isn't what you asked (specifically how to format ouput in SQL*Developer) but ...
    Is there any reason why you can't use SQL*PLUS to do your reports, which does support the formatting you are looking for? The scripting and reporting capabilities are why I still use SQL*PLUS, and the reporting jobs can be batched through a schedulerAbsolutely. It looks as if the scripts the OP is running were developed for SQL*PLus and have migrated to Toad. How much more convenient to have them run automatically and have them available when you arrive in the morning.

  • Sql Developper and Informix Database

    Hello
    It is possible to connect informix database from Sql Developper ?
    I download the JDBC driver an install it.
    I already setup the third party JDBC drivers, but when i create new connection

    No, we do not currently support Informix. The list of supported third parties is here:

    Hi,
    I notice that you have cross posted in Answers forum and Oracle forum. Have you tried Mr. Peter's suggestion?
    Then, I recommend we check the Word settings:
    1. Go to: Options > Advanced > Cut, Copy and Paste
    2.  Make sure that Use smart cut and paste is ticked.
    3. Click the Settings button next to this option
    4. Make sure that Smart Style

  • Problem with java.sql.Clob and oracle.sql.CLOB

    Hi,
    I am using oracle9i and SAP web application server. I am getClob method and storing that in java.sql.Clob and using the getClass().getName() I am getting the class name as oracle.sql.CLOB. But when I am trying to cast this to oracle.sql.CLOB i am getting ClassCastException. The code is given below
    java.sql.Clob lOracleClob = lResultSet.getClob(lColIndex + 1);
    lPrintWriter = new PrintWriter(new BufferedWriter (((oracle.sql.CLOB) lOracleClob).getCharacterOutputStream()));
    lResourceStatus = true;
    can anybody please tell me the what is the problem with this and solution.
    thanks,
    Ashok.

    Hi Ashok
    You can get a "ClassCastException" when the JVM doesn't have access to the specific class (in your case, "oracle.sql.CLOB").
    Just check your classpath and see if you are referring to the correct jar files.
    cheers

  • Oracle SQL Developer  error - "The file-based source procedure Name is not present in the database."

    I recently started working on the Oracle SQL developer. I have 'select' privileges on the QA schema and when tried to execute proc in QA. It is giving the error as 'The file-based source <procedure Name>  is not present in the database.  Was it compiled?'
    instead 'you do not have sufficient privileges to execute this procedure'. Did research on internet but with no luck.What configuration changes needed to be done to make it work.Guide me.

    Sounds like you do not have the correct privileges.  What should have been granted to you by the QA user, or some other user with appropriate privileges, is...
    grant EXECUTE on "QA"."<PROCEDURE_OF_INTEREST>" to "<YOUR_USERID>" ;
    Note that a grant of execute on a procedure has nothing to do with grants of select on some or all of QA's tables and views.
    So, as Vadim suggests, from your connection node in SQL Developer's Connections view, if you expand the Other Users node, then expand QA and look in the Procedures node, do you see the procedure of interest?  If not, you cannot expect to be able to execute it from your userid's connection. And even if you do see it, you may have some other privilege that permits viewing but not executing, like...
    The role SELECT_CATALOG_ROLE
    The system privilege SELECT ANY DICTIONARY
    And even if you do not see it there, then having certain other privileges granted to you could permit executing it in general, like...
    The role EXECUTE_CATALOG_ROLE
    The system privilege EXECUTE ANY PROCEDURE
    Also, note that the 3.0 release is a bit dated nowadays. Upgrading to 4.0.3 production or even the 4.1 EA2 (early adopter) release will, in general, give you a better experience.
    Best wishes,
    Gary

  • Can we use different Databases (Oracle & SQL Server) in one report?

    Post Author: venki5star
    CA Forum: .NET
    Hi there.
    Can we use different databases (Oracle & SQL Server) in a same report?
    If possible how?
    Another question,
    Can we change the Provider Name at runtime of the given report. If so the above question is useless...
    Thanks in Advance.

    I tried this using Oracle Provider for OLEDB (the one that supplied by Oracle Client) and Crystal Reports 9. you can drag the column into designer but the image does not appear in preview.
    I guess it's because CR does not recognized it as image, and there are no information that the blob data is an image at all.
