Oracle VM Manager V2V Issue revolving Local Repo to each host.
Hi all,
I have 5 oracle SPARC hosts running in my environment. But the problem starts when I'm forced to commit to an unusual storage mapping by mapping each hosts to their individual local repository. Bear in mind that this is due to storage architecture constraint that we are forced to adapt to this form of mapping
Host 1 -> Repo1
Host 2 -> Repo2
Host 3 -> Repo3
Host 4 -> Repo4
Host 5 -> Repo5
Everything works out fine but we all know that V2V migration by OVM manager will not be possible because each hosts are only presented with their own local repo. I was wondering if we could somehow re-work the migration process. I tried this idea of a migration process.
1. Copy a virtual disk from host 1 to host 2 via SCP
2. Rebuild the VM via LDOM commands on host 2 with the transferred virtual disk.
3. When the VM is booted up via the terminal everything works out fine.
However OVM recognizes the VM as an orphan VM. The VM can still be accessed but cannot be editted via the OVM manager. This is because the OVM manager does not recognize the immediate changes done via the host terminal. I tried refreshing everything (server, disks), the OVM still cannot be updated and recognize the new VM was orphan.
The following are my inquiries:
1. Is my method feasible? Technically the VM was successfully cloned and migrated but in an orphan state. Is there a way to reactivate it?
2. Is there a better V2V method than this? (Local Repo constraint applied)
3. With this current architecture, is it possible to still carry out P2V migration?
Thanks and Best Regards,
Jerry

Oracle Content Management installation issue--apr_bucket_type_pipe
Hi all,
i have intalled Content Server according to the installation guide
Content Server Port :5000
Admin Server Port:5001
Web Server Root :idc
Web Server:Apache
then enter the following entries in httpd.conf file
LoadModule IdcApacheAuth /app/ucm/server/shared/os/linux/lib/IdcApache2Auth.so
IdcUserDB Stellent "app/ucm/server/data/users/userdb.txt"
<Location /idc>
Order allow,deny
Allow from all
DirectoryIndex portal.htm
IdcSecurity idc
<Location>
Then i restart my IAS (./opmnctl startall) and system prompts my that undefined symbol :apr_bucket_type_pipe .
My IAS version is 10.1.3.1.0 .
Do you have any idea ?
Thanks,
DennisHi
The last <Location> tag should be </Location>.
The correct config entry in your case would be :
LoadModule IdcApacheAuth /app/ucm/server/shared/os/linux/lib/IdcApache2Auth.so
IdcUserDB idc "app/ucm/server/data/users/userdb.txt"
Alias /idc "/app/ucm/server/weblayout"
<Location /idc>
Order allow,deny
Allow from all
DirectoryIndex portal.htm
IdcSecurity idc
</Location>
Make these change , restart the webserver and then test to see if the issue persists.
Also the apache webserver is 2.0 as per your LoadModule entry. If it is 2.2 then that entry should be LoadModule IdcApacheAuth D:/oracle/ucm/ots/shared/os/win32/lib/IdcApache22Auth.dll
Thanks

Issue with Oracle Process Manager
Hi All,
I've installed Hyperion Planning on one server few days back. Now i've installed HFM on other server. The shared services is common which i've given is the First server (Where Planning is installed). The Planning server is working fine. When i'm trying to start Oracle Process Manager in the second server (Where HFM is installed) it is giving the message as "Could not start the Oracle Process Manager EPM_epmsystem1 service on Local computer" and The System cannot find the path specified.
I've installed & configured WebLogic on both servers (Planning & HFM)
Is this service required for HFM ? I think it is for Essbase. correct me if i'm wrong. Do we need to run this service on the second server ? (HFM Server). What is the main purpose of this server. Pls. advice.
Thanks,
PVRHi John,
Thanks so much for the Reply. As i mentioned earlier i've 2 servers. First server is for Planning and the second server is for HFM. I would like to use the shared services for both Planning & HFM on the first server. For launching workspace, if i type http://firstserver:19000/workspace, i can see Planning. To see HFM, do i need to launch http://firstserver:19000/worksapce or i need to launch http://secondserver:19000/workspace. I'm thinking that HFM will be available by launching http://secondserver:19000/workspace URL instead of the first URL, but i did't find the option of Configure webserver in the second server (HFM server). Pls. advice
Also, while configuring i've given other database for Reporting and Anaysis instead of the existing database. Also, given the server as second server (HFM server) during the configuration of Reporting and Analysis. Can you pls. kindly help and advice with the situation i've mentioned here
Thanks,

Oracle Process Manager failed to start(11.1.2)
Hi all!
I've installed and configured 11.1.2 on my VM(Win 2003 SP2)

Updating Oracle VM Manager from 3.1.1 to 3.2.1 where server is yum repo
I have a server running Oracle Enterprise Linux 6.3. Upon which is running Oracle VM Manager 3.1.1 ("BUILDID=3.1.1.305" from /u01/app/oracle/ovm-manager-3/.config).
This server is also my Oracle Enterprise Linux yum repo. This means its subscribed channels are (on ULN):
- Latest Unbreakable Enterprise Linux Kernel for Oracle Linux (x86_64)
- Oracle Linux 6 Add ons (x86_64)
- Oracle Linus 6 Latest (x86_64)
- Oracle VM 3 latest
- Oracle VM 3.2.1 Server Patches
Note that the last one was "Oracle VM 3.1.1 Server Patches" until this attempt to update. The "Yum Server" button is also ticked on ULN and I've followed the instructions on http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/articles/servers-storage-admin/yum-repo-setup-1659167.html.
Now, when I attempt a "yum update" on this server I get the following:

You could try using --skip-broken to work around the problem
You could try running: rpm -Va nofiles nodigest
Can someone please explain what mistakes I've made so I can get this box updated (both OS and Oracle VM Manager), please? Do I simply need to exclude some channels for the duration of the update of the local box, then add them back in for the repo mirroring to continue working?
With thanks,
BenIt appears that for the most part the package ovs-release is the problem. To judge from the first half of a failed yum update. Why isn't there an ovs-release package that references el6 packages? Really, did I make a mistake installing Oracle VM Manager on OL6 given that http://public-yum.oracle.com/repo/OracleVM/OVM3/latest/x86_64/ contains only "el5"-tagged packages?

Local repository on Oracle VM Manager, then yum check-update itself
Hi.
I have one Oracle VM Manager server as Oracle Linux 6.2 x86_64 that ULN registerd.
To update my Oracle VM Servers I set up local yum repository on my Oracle VM Manager, and it works OK with my Oracle VM Server Upgrade.
(Here is nice documents: http://itnewscast.com/oracle-vm-patch-updates )
However when I run "yum check-update" to keep secure OL6 itslef on my Oracle VM Manager, it shows update for el5 (not el6) as below;
ethtool.x86_64 2:2.6.33-0.3.100.1.el5 ovm3_x86_64_latest
kernel-uek.x86_64 2.6.39-200.1.1.el5uek ovm3_x86_64_latest
kernel-uek-firmware.noarch 2.6.39-200.1.1.el5uek ovm3_x86_64_latest
pciutils.x86_64 3.1.7-5.el5 ovm3_x86_64_latest
python-urlgrabber.noarch 3.9.1-9.100.1.el5 ovm3_x86_64_latest
unzip.x86_64 6.0-3.100.1.el5 ovm3_x86_64_latest
I can run as 'yum --disablerepo="ovm3_x86_64_latest" check-update' to ignore above updates, but is there any way more smart?I installed this patch to see if it would fix the problem I'm having, which is:
After a fresh install of 3.1.1 on two servers and the manager, everything worked fine until I rebooted the servers the first time. Then they came up in the "starting" state, and stay there. The error messages from the discovery process say something like "com.oracle.ovm.mgr.api.exception.IllegalOperationException: If the IP address of this server has changed, please delete the server: toravm2.acbl.net, and re-discover."
The servers have certainly not changed any hardware or IP addresses. They were just installed!
Anyhow, the installation of Build 365 and reboot of the servers fixed ONE of them. But the other one is still stuck in the "starting" state, and is UNUSABLE.
Any idea what the discovery process might be seeing that would cause this? -
Local-repo ~ a local repository manager with AUR support
Hey people,
i want to announce the release of local-repo 1.6.2. I made it to easily build and manage my own repos with fancy features like:
caching & logging
config file support
AUR support - add & upgrade packages from the AUR
an ABS like PKGBUILD store
a buildlog store
package and database signing
localization
Maybe this is something for you, too.
Visit the projects website [1], if you want to know more about it.
The PKGBUILD is available in the AUR [2].
Much fun, ushi
[1] http://ushi.wurstcase.net/local-repo/
[2] https://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=56876
Edit:
The first run should be something like this:
$ mkdir testrepo && local-repo testrepo -A vim-html5-git
This will create a new repo in the directory testrepo and add vim-html5-git from the AUR.

Issues integrating WebCenter with Oracle Access Manager
Hi All,
I am trying to integrate WebCenter 10.1.3.2 with Oracle Access Manager (CoreId). Followed the steps described in the Chapter 11 of the OC4J Security Guide.
I was able to successfully authenticate WebCenter using IWA with Access Manager.
Then I proceeded with the below steps:
- Implemented ADF Security in the application. Created application roles and login page and worked fine on my local machine.
- Provide the auth-method of "COREIDSSO" in orion-application.xml
- Renamed the app-jazn-data.xml to give the OID groups
- Mapped the OID groups to application roles in orion-application.xml
- Used the jazn migration tool to populate the system-jazn-data.xml
When trying to access the application, it looks like the ADF Context identifies that this is an authenticated user.
ADFContext.getCurrent().getSecurityContext().isAuthenticated() retruns true
ADFContext.getCurrent().getSecurityContext().isAuthorizationEnabled() returns true
I get the below error message on the server console:
[CoreIDLoginModule::getUserSessionFromCookie]: This user session for F3iwZhUGgjej9RSrMLSo0wjH5Ec6c2oeC0OBRH12y7%2FvfPVncz6dYoBoFD6q8DWAlMtzah%2FYV4T1t7jztVFYbxwfOyu0VOMXMEIosRrFicfJwoPRrM8MOkFsziQxpUqo98XrC9iBRHffdWSItNHZRZK4ZoCJMi6HZZ6noOc4Z%2BGJDGj3kWndYHTWjiG0cJhkSbL95wMmrXCDElzZHjPMdkuNQUHW1TfAJvgSlDeX6hhhIThlc%2BGmxMP3MQ%2FZoxUysbKieIJgDXo1%2FEMmLmTVjA%3D%3D is not valid or user is not logged in.
I also tried using the "Headervar" variable to display the obmygroups value, but it comes as blank.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
AneeshWe recently integrated Webcenter Application (with ADF Authentication and Authorization) with OAM. May be the following will be of some help to you.
We did the following steps documented in Chapter 11 Oracle Access Manager in Oracle J2EE security guide.
OAM
1. Created ALL specified policies , authentication schemes, protection specified in OAM section of the document.
OC4J
1. Ran all configuration listed for the OC4J section.
Webcenter
1. Developed the Webcenter Application
2. Enabled ADF Security (Authentication & Authorization)
3. Deployed the application. While deploying chose File based provider.
4. After the deployment, changed orion-application.xml to have COREIDSSO as documented in Oracle documentation
system-jazn-data.xml
1. Added login module details as specified in the document. (Changed only the application name. Rest all was same as we used names as specified in the earlier steps of the document)
OID Migration
Reference document: "Configuring a WebCenter Application to Use Oracle Access Manager" in Webcenter Framework Developer guide.
1. Located app-jazn-data.xml in the deployed application
2. Removed "realm-name" and "type" subelements of "grantee" tags. Removed any realm details in user name.
3. changed references to "class oracle.security.jazn.spi.xml.XMLRealmRole" to "oracle.security.jazn.realm.CoreIDPrincipal"
4. ran the JAZN migration tool with "all" options. Migration from app-jazn-data.xml to OID.
OAM
Created policies for protecting our application.
Test the application.
Debugging.
1. Enable oracle.adf.share.security , oracle.j2ee.security & oracle.j2ee.security.oc4j loggers to debug if the application is not working the way you expect to work.
2. Set log level in Enterprise manager.
3. All logging information are written in log.xml in $ORACLE_HOME/j2ee/OC4J_Webcenter/log/OC4J_WebCenter_default_group_1/oc4j

Issue with running a script in Oracle test manager
Tool - Open Script 9.0.1 , OTM
Hi All
I am facing issue while executing a open script with Oracle Test Manager , I have a script which was made with open script 9.0.1 and which is running very fine with the Open Script UI ,
problem occurs once I am trying to run this with OTM.Issue looks that playback was so fast in OTM so that script was not able to recognize some of the objects.
Is there anyway so that I can control the speed of playback at any particular step when I am using OTM
ThanksHi Kumar,
Regarding your query below is the suggestion:
You have to configure the job server with the repository. While configuring the adapter, you have to configure the job server in management console also..
Still if you are facing issue then please share Job Server logs available in BODS Job Server Folder and error screenshot to debug the issue.
Thanks,

Appreciate your suggestion. My intention was also to post it in the right forum but i could not find any forum for Oracle Revenue Management and Billing, since its a new product.
Its for such new products that we need help and support. Let me know if you are aware of any such forum. That would be great help indeed.
