Oracle Workflow - Create a condition node in the process

Hi,
I would like to create a workflow process which would have a condition in the middle of the process.
Example:
- if amount less than 10 then flow a different path
- Else if the amount is between 11 and 20 then follow path 2
- Else if the amount is between 21 and 30 then follow path 3
I am not aware how this can be achieved. Is there any option like a fork?
Request you to please help on the above.
Regards,
BM

BM,
There's a couple of ways to achieve that.
1. Use the Standard WF, and use the 'Compare Number' function.
2. Create a custom function, that references the amount attribute, and makes a determination on which path to take. You can then create a lookup, one for each option.
Hope this helps you get started.

    Can I create different Coherence nodes in the same cluster with defferent cache-config.xml file ?
    Can a cache be distributed in these deffirent nodes?

    Yes. You can create different Coherence nodes in the same cluster with defferent cache-config.xml files as long as you use the same tangosol-coherence.xml file and the same tangosol-coherence-override.xml file. But you cannot store the cache data in the different nodes (started with different cache-config file). In other word, a node only create caches in their own's modes which are started with the same cache-config.xml file.
    See the following demo:
    I start a cache server using the cache config file examples-cache-server.xml. Then I start a storage-disabled cache console (cache client) using the cache config file coherence-cache-config.xml. Both of them using the same tangosol-coherence.xml file and the same tangosol-coherence-override.xml file.
    The cache server uses a cache service PartitionedPofCache. But the client side is using the Distributedcache service. The cluster address is same 224.3.5.2.
    The cluster name is also samme. They know each other.

    Does anyone have a good pattern for returning to a previous node in the process?
    I can't think of any way to do it that is not exceedingly cumbersome, especially

    I have read that you can loop back accept across AND/OR joins. Or is it
    just OR? You can even loop back to the node itself; what else are you
    looking for? Oh! Pattern, well just analyse and test again and again don't
    break the joins rule (per above) and do have an exit :) in the loop. Also
    there are other rules for parallel paths which need to be followed for your
    own sanity (in case you have parallel paths as part of the loop).
    Need more specifics to be any more helpful,

    Hi,
    I checked in dba_user and do not find owf_mgr in it so I created owf_user and grant himexecute any procedure and a role owb_user.
    When I did not get table wf_resources in owf_mgr schema, I try to run wfinstall.bat on stand alone owb 11.2.
    But I got the following error,

    Hi Stephan,
    As I understand, you are encountering the issue that Workflow Manager Backend service terminating each time. May I know did you run the update cmdlets after you installed the updates for SharePoint server 2013? Please confirm it per the link below:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn133867.aspx
    If you haven’t run the updates cmdlets, I suspect this is an install issue. I’d suggest you re-install workflow manager to resolve the issue:
    1) Leave WFM/SB Farm
    2) Uninstall updates and application in the following order and one at a time:
    Service Bus CU1
    Workflow Manager CU1
    Service Bus 1.0
    Workflow Manager 1.0
    Workflow Manager Client 1.0
    Microsoft Windows Fabric
    3) Log into SQL server and delete Service Bus and Workflow Manager databases.
    SBManagementDB
    SBGatewayDB
    SBMessageContainer01
    WFManagementDB
    WFInstanceManagementDB
    WFResourceManagementDB
    4) Install in the following order one at a time through Web Platforms Installer:
    Workflow Manager 1.0
    Service Bus 1.0 CU1
    Workflow Manager 1.0 CU1

  • Oracle Workflow Delegate is not Working for the Adhoc Role

    Hi All,
    I have a requirement where I want to send the workflow notification to the Adhoc role and then if the people who are part of the adhoc role are on vacation then the notification should get delegate to the person set by the first approver. Somehow delegate is not working here.
    Please let us know if anyone of you have worked on such requirement or have come across this situation.
    Thanks in Advance,

    Thanks for the replying on the issue.
    This issue has been resolved now.
    In WF_NOTIFICATION.route procedure, Following query was selecting the Adhoc role name instead of the fnd_user, We have changed our custom in such way that there should always be fnd_user for the follwoing query.
             SELECT   WN.RECIPIENT_ROLE, WN.MESSAGE_TYPE, WN.MESSAGE_NAME
               INTO   recip, msgtype, msgname
               FROM   WF_NOTIFICATIONS WN
              WHERE   WN.NOTIFICATION_ID = nid;Thanks,

  • Is Oracle Workflow required to execute OWB schedules?

    Hi,
    I want to create and deploy a schedule in OWB 10gR2 to automatically run my OWB process flow every week. I would like to know
    1) Whether I need to install Oracle workflow too in order to execute the process flow as per the schedule created?
    2) If not, how does the OWB scheduler work?
    3) Also, if the scheduled proces flow terminates due to some error, how do I resume executing it from the point of termination after correcting the error?
    Thanks
    Amit

    Hi Amit,
    1. Is the workflow monitor a standard part of Oracle workflow,or does one need a separate license for it?All parts Oracle workflow (workflow server, workflow monitor, workflow builder) licensed with Oracle database licenses,
    so if you buy Oracle database you can use workflow components without any limitations.
    2. In your approach, you had mentioned that there should be no transitions for error, but I would like to send an email notification to the DW administrator incase of an error before suspending the process flow.My recomendation is to use additional PL/SQL procedure which will executed periodically (for example every 30 minutes, scheduled with DBMS_JOBS/DBMS_SCHEDULER),
    in this procedure you can use query on OWB public view (ALL_RT_AUDIT_EXECUTIONS) or workflow repository views/tables
    for identification failed steps/mappings (if you decide to use OWB public view) or "stucked" processflow (if you will use workflow views/tables,
    algorithm of identification stucked processflow you can see in workflow PL/SQL package WF_ENGINE, procedure ProcessStuckProcess).
    Using post-mapping is more expensive because you need modify each mapping which you want to monitor for fails.
    Example of query for identifiaction failed steps (PL/SQL prcoedures and mappings) within period of time datetime1..datetime2 with ALL_RT_AUDIT_EXECUTIONS
    select * from ALL_RT_AUDIT_EXECUTIONS where task_type in ('PLSQL','PLSQLProcedure')
    and NOT (return_result is null or return_result='OK') and :datetime1<=created_on and created_on<:datetime2

  • Deleting a user in AD using Oracle Workflow

    Hello.
    I have a very unusual scenario that I want to solve.
    We are developing an application using Oracle Workflow in which we are simulating the process of deleting a user from several systems. In one of the steps of the process we have to invalidate the user in MS Active Directory.
    Using OID it's possible to do that? Any clues on how to do it?
    Thanks In Advice.

    adi,
    Yes, the Change User Password workflow is called even if the user logged in using "forgot my password" questions.
    By default, IDM commits the user passwords before the "Change User Password" WF is called (unless you set the deferCommit option), so the problem may be that your function isn't getting called or receiving valid input. Can you verify that your code is actually called?
    The workflow goes like this: (1) Start; If there's an uncommitted password view (there isn't by default) -> (2) CommitView -> (3) Now reprovision the user.
    If you're depending on the transition to CommitView, that may be why your code isn't being called.

  • How to create a context node for "IBHeader" at the view "BuPaIBaseDetail"?

    hi, experts
    for the requirement, i have to get data from a root BO-IBHeader in the view of "BuPaIBaseDetail".But the view already has IBHeader's child object-"IBComponent", whose controller class is "CL_CRM_IC_BUPACONTROLLER_CN08", how can i create the context node for "IBHeader"?
    angerly wait for the answer. thanks a lot

    If you right click on an empty container or a container with an object in it, it has the same available choices to select. However, if you create a blank property node on the block diagram, and wire up the .net object to it, you will see a much different list of properties.
    So, the property node created from right clicking a .NET container will be for that container, even if there is an object inside. To create a property node for the object, you must wire the .NET object to an empty property node on the block diagram.

  • How to create a new tree node with the initial edit function

    Hi all,
    I would like to mimic the Windows system when the user creates a new node. The newly created node should be in the edit mode, i.e.it should
    be highlighted and the cursor should be appear at the end of
    the newly created node name.
    I have the folloing code after I create the new node and set its selection:
    TreePath selectionPath = getTree().getSelectionPath();
    tree.startEditingAtPath(selectionPath);
    However, this only partially does what I want, the cursor does not appear at the end of the node's name and I am not sure how to select the text name of the new node.
    I hope someone can help.
    Kanita

    I haven't tried myself but my guess is that you need to customize your tree cell editor for putting
    cursor at specific position, etc.

  • SAP RM: How can I create a Node when the node is not visible for the user

    Hi,
    Product: SAP records Management for Public Sector
    Version: 7.00
    is it possible to create a instance node when the model not is not visible for the active user?
    I looked in the CL_SRM_XML_REC_MODEL but every methode I used gave me no results with the special user.
    Regards and thanks for every beginning
    Fanninger Thomas

    Hi,
    here an example.
    When I use the method CL_SRM_XML_REC_INSTANCE->IF_SRM_XML_POID~GET_ALL( POID_TAB COUNT_USER_REST COUNT_POID_AUTH ).
    When I used the user with no right for viewing the invisible nodes I get no elements in the tabelle POID_TAB and 38 in the value COUNT_USER_REST.
    So did any one know a solution you can I create a nodes and change the restriction for the new node with the normal user?

  • I have a problem with creating a node in the JTree

    Hello All!
    I have a problem when I try to create a new node in the JTree. If the parent node of the new node has any other children, I get following NullPointerException exception :
    java.lang.NullPointerException
         at javax.swing.plaf.basic.BasicTreeUI.startEditing(BasicTreeUI.java:1959)

         at ru.sirena2000.jxt.iface.action.TreeActionHandler.createNode(TreeActionHandler.java:62)
    It seems to me, that path of creating node was not defined in the BasicTreeUI.
    Note, if the parent node has no other children, the new node will be successfully created. How can I solve this problem? Help me, please!
    I use java version 1.4.2-b28

    Sorry, I forgot to show a piece of code, where I try to create a new node. This piece of code see above. "tree.scrollPathToVisible(path);" is a string, which throws an exception.
    tree.repaint();
    TreePath path = tree.getSelectionPath();
    if (path == null) {
    return;
    if (tree.isCollapsed(path)) {
    tree.expandPath(path);
    DefaultMutableTreeNode parentNode =
    (DefaultMutableTreeNode)path.getLastPathComponent();
    IconData childData = defineIconData(parentNode);
    IconData newData = childData.copy();
    newData.getNodeObject().clearNodeObj();
    newData.getNodeObject().setNodeText("New");
    DefaultMutableTreeNode newNode = new DefaultMutableTreeNode(newData);
    editingData = newData;
    editingData.getNodeObject().setStatus(TreeNodeData.NEW_STATUS);
    parentNode.add(newNode);
    DefaultTreeModel model = (DefaultTreeModel)tree.getModel();
    path = path.pathByAddingChild(newNode);

    tree.startEditingAtPath(path);
    saveChangesInBuffer(newNode, TreeNodeData.NEW_STATUS);

  • Oracle Workflow Monitor

    I've seen plenty of references to Oracle Workflow Monitor, but I've never paid much attention. Yesterday I got an error message from Control Center that instructed me to use Oracle Workflow Monitor to solve my problem (a process was running and needed to be shut down before regenerating).
    But how to I use Oracle Workflow Monitor? Is it installed by default when OWF was initially installed with OWB? What URL do I use access it? If it does not run after the conventional OWB install, is there a How-To document available for configuring it?
    To be clear, OWF seems to be set up and working. I have created and run process flows successfully. I've just experienced a weird problem that Control Center cannot seem to handle -- and I'm looking for answers. Frankly, I'm mystified at the lack of information on Oracle Workflow Monitor given that OWB error messages reference it and plenty of people seem to discuss it in technical forums.
    Thanks,
    David

    Thanks Robert!
    We are using OWB 11 on Oracle 11, but I'm going to press on and ask our DBA to install the OWF mid-tier components from the 10g Companioin CD. I don't think workflow has changed and so I'm hopeful.
    (If anybody has experience, please chime in for the record.)
    Thanks again!

  • How to install oracle workflow on my desktop?

    i am having oracle 9i in my machine. i want to install oracle workflow. kindly tell me how to install or provide me with the link where installation has been explained.please let me know where i will find that documen?t
    thanks.

    There are two major components to install in Oracle Workflow.
    1. Workflow Client - Otherwise called Oracle Workflow Builder, this is a windows based tool to design and develop your workflow process. This tool is the developer's tool for transforming the business process into a workflow process. The process definition can be stored to filesystem as a file with .wft extension or directly to a database where workflow server is installed.
    2. Workflow Server - Workflow engine that executes the workflow process designed using the workflow builder above. The workflow process designed above is loaded into the workflow server either from the builder directly by connecting to the workflow server schema or using the workflow definitions loader which is a command line utility that reads the .wft file.
    Installation
    1. You may install the Workflow Builder 2.6.2 downloadable from OTN on your PC. This needs an appropriate Oracle Home using which the builder is built by Oracle. I believe 2.6.2 can be installed into a 9i home. It is better that you install the builder into a new Oracle Home and not use any existing homes.
    2. Workflow Server 2.6.2 is shipped with Oracle Database 9iR2. In the additional or optional components (not sure about the exact words) section of your 9iR2 CD you can find Oracle Workflow 2.6.2 that provides the workflow server. You may install this into the existing Oracle Database 9iR2 Oracle home. After installing oracle workflow server you should run the Workflow Configuration Assistant to create the workflow schema in the database and create the required objects in the schema in order for the Workflow Engine to be become operational.
    In summary, installation of Workflow Server has two phases.
    o Install Oracle Workflow to 9iR2 home.
    o Run Workflow Configuration Assistant to configure the workflow server
    Once the Workflow Configuration Assistant is run successfully, you need to set up the PLSQL DAD (Database Access Descriptor) to access workflow home page using the Apache server that comes bundled with Oracle Database 9iR2.
    Please refer to Oracle Workflow 2.6.2 installation document for more information.

  • When create heirarchy, can not find the entry which is in master data

    Hi, SDNs
        When create a heirarchy for a char , click this char button to add a fields to a node, i can't search the value which is actually in the master data.
       Thansk for your time

    If you go to create hierararchy or change mode of hierarchy
    3 types of nodes you can create
    1)Text node
    2)Charecteristic node
    3)Infoobject values node
    text node - is simple any text node you can create
    infoobject values node - if the master data is loaded you can create it
    if master data is loaded make sure its activated and no master data is under "M" version.
    charecteristic node - only if particular infoobject node is included in the tab "external chars in hierarchies" in RSD1 of that particular infoobject
    Hope it Helps
