Order Booking Application - failure deploying CustomerService.deploy file

I am trying to install this SOA Demo application with Advance installion for SOA Suite and for some reason, keep getting this error when deploying the CustomerService. deploy file. I have checked the path, connection factory and looks good to me. Any help willl be much appreciated.
-Salman

Hi Salman, I recently set up the demo and had a couple of issues but not with deploying the CustomerService.
First I would check that you are using the same version of JDeveloper and SOA Suite. So if using SOA 10.1.3.1 you should use JDeveloper 10.1.3.1 etc.
If you are using the same versions can you paste in the details from the deployment log window to see if it gives any clues.
Thanks Cel

  • ERROR DEPLOYING A WEB SERVICE (SOA Order Booking application)

    Hi everyone...
    I got some problem here, I hope somebody help me...
    So...
    I've quite laboriously managed to get SOA Suite installed and I'm half way through the deployment of the order
    booking demo, and encountered an error that I can't find a reference to in
    online searches. I'm up to the step "4. Deploy the Credit Service application"
    and get the following error:

    So, does anyone can tell me what am I have to do?!
    Regards...

    I am currently having the same problem with the SOA Order booking demo application. All of the installation went fine until I tried to run the web client. Whenever I try to access http://localhost:8888/soademo, I get a 500 internal server error.
    Did you ever find a solution for this problem?
    Thanks in advance!

  • SOA order booking application error

    I'm using Jdeveloper studio edition 10.1.3.4
    This is standard out of the box SOADEMO application. I've tried deploying Manually, or Runt Ant Target (one by one) but always deployDecisionService is giving following error at generating ear file.
    Under Resources on App Nav, I've
    decisionservices\DecisionService (with DecisionService.ear and under that DecisionService-web.war)
    decisionservices\DecisionService\ear (with DecisionService.ear and under that DecisionService-web.war)
    decisionservices\DecisionService\war
    So structure seems right. Any inputs on following error will be helpful.

    I installed and configured everything according to the instructions. However, when I try to use the login.jsp to connect, I get the login failed message and no errors in Jdev.
    any thoughts on how to fix this?

    Log in as jcooper/welcome1. Default users are provided at install time in the following configuration file: SOA_Oracle_Home\bpel\system\appserver\oc4j\j2ee\home\config\jazn-data.xml

  • Order Booking Example Quick Start Guide 10.1.3.1

    I am having two problems with installation:
    (1) deployment of FulfillmentESB - after selecting Register with ESB I do not get a sub menu (OrderBookingIS) - with right click - as if it submenu does not exist
    (2) Deployment of SelectManufacturer>Resources Run ANT compilation fails with 143 Java Language URI not hierarchical error message
    any help would be appreciated - using WIndows XP and all port defaults are same as the defaults - one instance only 'home'

    I was able to register the Fullfillment ESB service - the Guide should state 'to be sure the ESB service has been started from SOA console
    Thank you so much

    Thanks!! absolutely spot on solution.
    I developed in 10.1.3.4, got this error, then deployed using 10.1.3.1. Fantastic.
    Just that build.xml generated by 10.1.3.4 contains isSSL attribute, which seems is not supported by 10.1.3.1. So I created a dummy project in 10.1.3.1, and replaced the build.xml of my rules project with the one generated by 10.1.3.1 jdev

  • SOA Order Booking Web Client Error

    Ok, so I have gotten the SOA Order Booking Application to run. But now when I go to localhost:8888/soademo and try to log in with what they want me to I get a login error. I have checked the tables to make sure that I have the email and password right for logging. If any else has run into this problem and has figured a way around it please post here or even if you have an idea post it here.

    The only things I have changed are what the startup guide told me to, mostly just some property files so that it uses the right port. I have tried logging on with all the default logins.
    Here I think this is the right log file, this is the error it gives me. I am new to Oracle products, I am just doing this demo for my job.

  • Deploy given EAR file having application.xml and change context-root

    hi
    Please consider deploying a given EAR file on WebLogic Server 10.3.5 (part of JDeveloper 11.1.1.6.0) and changing the context-root for its web-module.
    For example an EAR file with only a web-module (ReviewContextRootFirstApp.ear [1]) or an EAR file with a web-module and an ejb-module (ReviewContextRootSecondApp.ear [2]).
    Given documentation appendix B section "context-root" [3] saying
    "... A context-root setting in application.xml takes precedence over context-root setting in weblogic.xml. ..."
    and documentation section "Typical Deployment Configuration Workflows" [4] saying
    "Oracle does not support using a deployment plan to change the context-root in an application.xml file. However, if an application is deployed as a library, you can either change the context-root through an weblogic-application.xml file or use the deployment plan to change the context-root in an weblogic-application.xml file. "
    Some observed behaviour:
    - scenario (sc1) : deploy ReviewContextRootFirstApp.ear without deployment plan, results in context-root "/rcrfaweb" (as in application.xml)
    - scenario (sc2) : deploy ReviewContextRootFirstApp.ear with deployment plan fa-plan.xml (tries to configure "/rcrfaweb11"), results in context-root "/rcrfaweb" (as in application.xml)
    - scenario (sc3) : deploy ReviewContextRootSecondApp.ear without deployment plan, results in context-root "/rcrsaweb" (as in application.xml)
    - scenario (sc4) : deploy ReviewContextRootSecondApp.ear with deployment plan sa-plan.xml (tries to configure "/rcrsaweb21"), results in context-root "/rcrsaweb" (as in application.xml)
    The blog post "Defining the context root of a web application in Oracle WebLogic server" [5] by Silviu Leahu in its section "Defining the context root in deployment plan" suggests to
    "Remove the META-INF/application.xml DD from the EAR"
    - scenario (sc5) : remove application.xml from ReviewContextRootFirstApp.ear (e.g. using Ant target "remove.application.xml.from.ear") and deploy with deployment plan fa-plan.xml, results in context-root "/rcrfaweb11" (as in fa-plan.xml)
    - scenario (sc6) : remove application.xml from ReviewContextRootSecondApp.ear (e.g. using Ant target "remove.application.xml.from.ear") and deploy with deployment plan sa-plan.xml, results in context-root "/rcrsaweb21" (as in sa-plan.xml)
    One could expect that using a deployment plan (like in scenario's (sc2) and (sc4)) would allow to configure/change the context-root, whithout having to make changes to the EAR file to make this possible. (Somewhat like "Figure 4-2 Single Deployment Plan Workflow")
    Only in scenario's (sc5) and (sc6) I see something close to what I would like to achieve, but there the application.xml file has been removed from the EAR file.
    So ...
    - (q1) Is it impossible to change the context-root at deploy-time for a web-module in a given EAR file that includes an application.xml file, without changing the EAR file?
    - (q2) Is working with EAR files that don't have an application.xml file a supported approach (to change the context-root at deploy-time)?
    Seems like a simple goal, but I must be missing something that is required to achieve it.

    Thanks for your reply René van Wijk.
    René van Wijk wrote:
    You can use deployment plans in order to change the context-root ...That is what I tried and describe in scenario's (sc2), (sc4), (sc5) and (sc6) in this forum thread.
    Because the application.xml file (in the "given EAR file"), added by JDeveloper 11.1.1.6.0 when deploying to an EAR file, doesn't have id attributes on its application/module elements, I first tried a different XPath expression:
    "/application/module/web[web-uri/text()="WebProject.war"]/context-root"
    But, that didn't work.
    Although the "given EAR file" does not have the suggested id attributes, I tried adding a deployment descriptor application.xml file that does have such id attributes [2], allowing an XPath expression like the one suggested:
    "/application/module[id="WebProject"]/web/context-root"
    - scenario (sc7) : deploy ReviewContextRootFirstApp.ear (in ReviewContextRootApps-v0.02.zip) with deployment plan fa-plan-application-xml-with-id.xml (tries to configure "/rcrfaweb14"), results in context-root "/rcrfaweb" (as in application.xml)
    - scenario (sc8) : deploy ReviewContextRootSecondApp.ear (in ReviewContextRootApps-v0.02.zip) with deployment plan sa-plan-application-xml-with-id.xml (tries to configure "/rcrsaweb24"), results in context-root "/rcrsaweb" (as in application.xml)
    So, it does not seem to work.
    ... you have to use a variable assignment in the right part of the deployment plan (in this case the application.xml) ...My observations I describe above (that it does not seem to work) seem to confirm the Oracle documentation [1] I referred to in this forum thread before:
    "Oracle does not support using a deployment plan to change the context-root in an application.xml file. ... "
    ... By using an xpath expression, you can define which part of the xml has to be changed. ...The values for the deployment-plan xpath elements seem to be "peculiar".
    Although it should not be a problem in an XPath expression, using single quotes (like module[id='WebProject'] ) instead of double quotes (like module[id="WebProject"] ) results in:
    "java.lang.AssertionError: Attributes must be defined as name value pairs, eg, name="value" -- [id='WebProject']"
    Because an XPath predicate expression would use an "@" to refer to an attribute, I also tried to replace what you suggested module[id="Web"] with something like module[@id="Web"] but that also did not make a difference.

    Hi Srinivas,
    There is no need to deploy MapBuilder in an Application Server. You can start it at the command line with for example:
    java -jar mapbuilder.jar -noconnect

  • Deployment of class file in oracle 10g Application Server

    Hi,
    I have a class file
    import java.io.*;
    import javax.servlet.*;
    import javax.servlet.http.*;
    public class HelloWorld extends HttpServlet {
    public void doGet(HttpServletRequest req, HttpServletResponse res)
    throws ServletException, IOException {
    res.setContentType ("text/html");
    PrintWriter out = res.getWriter();
    out.println("<HTML>");
    out.println("<HEAD><TITLE>Hello World</TITLE></HEAD>");
    out.println("<BODY>");
    out.println("<BIG>Hello World</BIG>");
    out.println("</BODY></HTML>");
    now I like to deploy(in oracle 10g Application Server) and run this file.
    please help me.

    Hi
    You have to deploy Servlet as a WAR File. I hope you already have web.xml file which u can get automatically in eclsipse during creation of servelet. I am not sure what ide u r using here. If u have created servlet in eclipse then I would suggest create a project dynamic webproject if u have not where IDE create all required files autmatiicaly and even you can deploy application from there itself.
    If you wanted to deploy manually then follow below steps (if u have war file)
    I am assuming you already created a Weblogic Domain and have admin username/password. Start your domain. Login into weblogic console like http://host:port/console and use admin username/password. Then from Deployments section, deploy the above WAR file. In Weblogic you can deploy JAR (EJBs, java files), WAR (web jsp, html, webservices, servlets) or EAR (JAR + WAR). In your case its just a WAR file.
    Thanks

  • Deployed application does not contain javascript files

    Hello,
    I am a unexperienced user of the BPM Studio. When I start my application in Oracle BPM my application does not contain the javascript files. It is quite weird, because the path to the .js files is proper - the application works on other computers. I have observed several weird things:
    - when I lookup the application in Firebug, when I try to lookup the source of the .js files, firebug console presents something like this (i deleted most of the html so that it is easy to read):
    <html><head><title>Apache Tomcat/5.5.15 - Error report</title>
    <body>HTTP Status 404 - /workspace//webRoot/webResources/js/jquery-1.4.2.min.js
    Status report message /workspace//webRoot/webResources/js/jquery-1.4.2.min.js
    The requested resource (/workspace//webRoot/webResources/js/jquery-1.4.2.min.js) is not available.
    <h3>Apache Tomcat/5.5.15</h3></body></html>- as i said - the application works just fine on other computers, without having to edit the path to the .js files
    - the application doesn't deploy the application (at least I think it does not) in the OraBPMStudioHome - the application is in the following folder:
    C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\OraBPMStudioHome\webapps\workspace\webRoot
    I am using OracleBPM Studio 10gR3, my system is Windows 7 Proffessional 64bit. Could the fact, that my system is 64 bit, cause the error?
    I haven't changed anything in the web.xml, workspace.properties files.
    It looks as if the server didn't include my js files. What may be causing this? I tried to locate the folder where the Tomcat Server deployes the application, and copying the js files where they should be manually, but that didn't work out well - the web application still does not see them.
    By the way, the double // slashes in the path to the .js file are fine on other computers, but is that proper?
    My application uses other scripts, not only jQuery, so changing the link to the jQuery file, won't work.
    I'd be very happy for any solution, thanks in advance!

    <script type="text/javascript" src="<fuego:webResources relativePath='js/jquery-1.4.2.min.js'/>"></script>If that helps, the folder structure, with the .js files is as follows: ../webRoot/webResources/js/ ....
    As I said before - none of my colleagues, who use this application, has this problem, the application runs fine on other computers. The only (or at least that's what I think) difference, is that I use a 64 bit OS... Maybe that's the problem? Or maybe something is wrong in one of my BPM configuration files?
