Order of Deployment across Applications

Is there any way I can set Weblogic to load certain applications first before the
others are loaded.
In my case, I have an Ear file "A" which is dependent on another EAR File "B"
to be started first. ("A" has a MDB which sends stuff to B immediately after deployment.
So if "B" is not started, it fails till "B" is deployed).\
Is it based on the entries in teh config.xml? config.xml keeps swapping entries
up and down whenever we make a change to XML. So how do i guarantee that applicatin
"B" gets loaded before "A"?
Thanks in advance
Raj

By default, WebLogic Server deploys Enterprise Applications, EJBs, Web Applications, and Web Services deployed immediately after its subsystems initialize at boot time. Startup classes are deployed and run after application modules have been deployed.
The actual deployment order of modules is determined by their Load Order attribute. By default, new applications and modules are configured with a Load Order value of 100. Modules with a lower Load Order value are deployed before those with a higher value during startup. Modules with the same Load Order value are deployed in alphabetical order using the deployment name.
Follow these steps to view or change the deployment order of modules deployed to the WebLogic Server domain:
Hi
1. Select the Deployments node in the left pane. The right pane displays all modules configured for deployment in the domain, listed in their current deployment order.
2. Select the Change button next to a module name to display the Change Deployment Order page.
3. Enter a new value in the Load Order field, and click Apply to apply your changes. The again displays the complete list of modules configured for deployment in the domain.
To change the deployment order of a Startup class, follow the instructions in Configure a Startup or Shutdown Class.

  • Deployment order across applications

I have a web app that implements ServletContextListener. This app on deployment
looks for an ejb on another app. How do I tell weblogic to deploy the web app
before the ejb app. These two have to be different applications. I cannot combine
them into the same ear. I am not able to find ways to identify deployment order
    across applications. Any thoughts.
Any ideas on other approaches if this is not possible will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

We don't want the dependency between the EAR application and this web app. We also
plan to deploy this web app on multiple boxes that will require only a servlet
container and will not require an app server. Also the EAR app will be deployed
on multiple boxes and we do not want the extra overhead of this web app. Hope
    this answers your question.
Do you know of any alternative approach to this problem since I do not see having
deployment ordering across apps in weblogic.
    Thanks.

  • What are the different steps to follow in order to develop an application and deploy it into a PAC

    Hi,
I developped a program on my computer but in order to deploy it in a PAC , I don't know what are the different steps to follow?
What are the difference between a stand alone application and communication with server mode.
Can the file which will be downloaded into the PAC be in a form othre than (.exe).
what does the deployment licence consist of??? is it a software?
if the file is .exe then how to maintain it?
    Thank you for all,
    Regards

    Hi!
Since I'm familiar with FieldPoint PACs, I'll refer to that (but maybe it is similar for cRIO...).
An embedded application (standalone), runs entirely and independently on the PAC, while if you're not doing this, you'll have your computer, with LabView, which is controlling the PAC.  In this mode, application is dowloaded in PAC's RAM, so when you reboot controller, application will be lost.  If you build an embedded application, you can provide for application to boot authomatically at boot, each time the PAC reboots.  These are some basic stuffs on embedded applications with LV.
To deploy an application to a PAC, you need LabVIEW + Real-Time module. Without it, you can't build an embedded application on PACs.
usually, the file dowloaded is an .exe, and some libraries.  What would you like to have, exactly? For example, I think you can buy a simple .exe, which is universal, which loads VIs dinamically, so you can download directly VIs, but I've never tried this way....
Deployment license, I think, refer to PCs, id est, when you use a PC or PXI as embedded target, in PACs, you have it bundled (it seems to me) whit the PAC you buy, so you don't have to buy an extra license for every PAC you ship with your application.  Otherwise, if you develop a Real-Time application for a PC, you will ship PC + OS licensed + Real-Time extension licensed, but this is not your case, since you'll use PACs.
The maintain problem... I've already faced with! Simply, for my needs it was enough to make an application which loads configuration files, depending on different task the controller has to do. If you have to dowload a completely new version of VI.... it's better to deploy new application from LV.  But maybe you can bypass this problem with dinamic VIs loading...
Let me know if this help.... Have a nice day!

  • Force order of deployed applications

    Hi Experts,
I've a problem with an application which has dependencies with others.
Periodically the Web AS where my applications are deployed is restarted, all of them start ok but there is one that not. I recieved the following message:
    *SAP J2EE Engine/7.00 *
    * Application cannot be started.*
    * Details:*
    com.sap.engine.services.deploy.container.ExceptionInfo: The DataSource
for PersistenceManager jdbc:pool:dtmweb00 is not created.
    Application1 has a reference to Application2
    Application2
Application2 starts ok, Application 1 no. Application2 is deployed after Application 1
jdbc:pool:dtmweb00 is a pool that is declared in JDBC and is working ok. If I start Application1 "manually" forcing the deploy, it starts without problem. I guess that if Application2  was deployed before Application1, then everything would work ok. Is it possible to configure through Visual Administrator the order of deploy? I'm using Visual Administrator 7.0 (SP15)
    Thanks in advance,

You just need to deploy your application again and it will automatically work. Try deploy your application and test it.

  • Deploy ADF application to standalone OC4J 11g

    Hi people!
I found some threads into the forums that deal with the subject but I did not find any solution, so I post a new thread...
In fact, I'd like to deploy a "war" on a standalone oc4j 11g.
The application was built with jdev 11g TP4.
I can't use the ADF runtime Installer of jdev, so I have to copy all the files by myself, but the problem is that I do not find the files in jdev11/BC4J/lib/ that I have to copy in oc4j/BC4J/lib...
    There is no adfcm.jar, bc4jdomorcl.jar, etc ...
Is it normal ? Could someone indicate me how to configure the standalone oc4j 11g in order to deploy my "war" ?
    Thanks a lot,
    romain.

    Hi,
    TP4 doesn't have a standalone OC4J.
Try to start embedded oc4j from jdeveloper in standalone mode.
see e.g. Re: Can Jdeveloper TP4 deploy apps to OC4J standalone TP4
BTW: The production release 11g is announced within next week and this release will contain Weblogic Server 10gR3 instead of OC4J.
    JDeveloper 11g release this month?

I've installed the Oracle Application Server several times, this time with 10.1.3 our application doesn't run and we get the error shown below.
Any ideas? It looks to be something with struts or tiles. struts.jar and tiles.jar is included in our deployed j2ee application WEBI-INF/lib dir. The application was built with jdeveloper 10.1.2 and compiled with java 1.4.
We load a custom log4j.properties, and nothing is even getting logged except for the log4j init stuff, nor is this NoSuchMethod error showing up in any other of the many different log files. (That I can find anyway)

Figures, I've been fighting with this for the past day and a half and I figure it out shortly after I post the question.
It turns out the tiles.jar that was in our WEB-INF/lib directory was an old one. It looks like the newer struts.jar (from jdeveloper) we're using includes the tiles information. Once I removed tiles.jar, commons-dbcp, pool, resources, and services, it works now.
It looks like jdeveloper overwrites most of those files with it's built in struts integration, and we've just been lucky before that struts.jar was being loaded before tiles.jar and something with oas 10.1.3 is loading the jars in a different order--but I'm just guessing here.

  • Deploying an Application to a APEX 3.1.1 Runtime Environment

    Hello Everyone,
I'm trying to work out how to deploy an application from a development to runtime environment but am facing a few issues / uncertainty and would appreciate any input/help on this. To begin with here is my environment:
    - Apex 3.1.1
    - Two Oracle 9i (9.2.0.8) instances running on different hosts (development environment on host AA and runtime environment on host BB)
    - Using the Oracle 9i HTTP Server with mod_plsql (on both hosts)
    - DEVLWS workspace +(on development env)+
    - DEVSCHEMA schema +(on development env)+
    - USER01 - non-developer & non-admin user +(on development env)+
    - DEV01 - developer and admin user +(on development env)+
I'm performing this test deployment with the downloaded application Timesheets from apex.oracle.com with the application ID of 111 (when imported into my development environment).
    Situation:_
I have no issues on the development environment. I can import the Timesheet app into it and run it using either the USER01 or DEV01 ID as it was imported into the DEVSCHEMA schema. However, when I try to deploy over to my runtime environment, here is where things gets sketchy on this.
    1) In order to get this application (Timesheets) to run properly on my runtime environment, I've to perform a Oracle9i EXP of my DEVSCHEMA objects and import this into my runtime environment using the IMP utility to get the proper workspace and associated objects over,
--> I tried exporting the workspace on the development env but even after running it on the runtime env, I was not able to get the application to run (missing workspace schema, users etc).
    2) From my development environment, I export the Timesheet app with supporting objects option and on the runtime environment, I use SQL*Plus as such:
    SQL> alter session set current_schema=FLOWS_030100;
    SQL> @f111.sql
Once the script completes, I use the http://hostBB:7776/pls/apex/f?p=111.1 url and was able to get in to the application, however I found things like the images are missing and I've to manually export these again from the development env and run the generated SQL script file on my runtime env.
Is there a better (and documented step by step) way of doing this kind of deployment? The Apex User Guides talks about creating a packaged application but I didn't see this as a way to deploy specifically into a runtime environment as I followed it and still had missing images. When I did the export of the Timesheet application, I used the DEV01 id and made sure I selected the 'with supporting objects' option but yet I've to do most of the steps manually (i.e. build the schema, tablespace, application tables via exp/imp) and again the images were not included.
Is there a document / note available that discusses this in better detail (deploy from Development env to Runtime env) so that I can do cut down the manual steps and making sure that my developers can effectively deploy our apps with minimal fuss and headaches? Appreciate any input.

...I've to perform a Oracle9i EXP of my DEVSCHEMA objects and import this into my runtime environment using the IMP utility to get the proper workspace and associated objects over,...
EXP/IMP will not do workspaces. You can use the Application Express apex_admin application to export a workspace to a file. Then, in a runtime environment, you can install that workspace file using SQL*Plus. This way of
creating the workspace also ensures that it will have the same workspace ID as it did in the original database, making possible the installation of exported applications from application export files from the original
workspace into the new workspace having the same workspace ID and also where the installed applications are to have their original application IDs.
... and still had missing images. When I did the export of the Timesheet application, I used the DEV01 id and made sure I selected the 'with supporting objects' option but yet I've to do most of the steps manually (i.e. build the schema, tablespace, application tables via exp/imp) and again the images were not included.
Images aren't part of application exports. Exporting the images to a file and then installing them using that file and SQL*Plus is the way to do it.
As Patrick mentioned, running the application export file in SQL*Plus doesn't run the supporting objects script. It creates the script in the datbase. But in a runtime environment you can't run the script because the runtime environment lacks the Application Builder.
    SQL> alter session set current_schema=FLOWS_030100;
    SQL> @f111.sql
You can install applications by connecting as a less privileged schema. Any schema assigned to the workspace into which the application is to be installed will do. To install workspace export files (or applications), you can also use a schema that has been granted the role APEX_ADMINISTRATOR_ROLE.

  • Deploy creator application to oracel application server

    hi,
how can I deploy an application created in creator to the oracle application server in order to include it as an oracle portlet i noracel portal
    thanks,
    IAS

    Scott,
I think that this question cannot be answered because nobody knows what your applications are doing and how they are programmed. What does it mean when you say that each application has 100 MB (memory or disk size) ? Also, what is your concern, that the Application Server stops deploying the applications or that it doesn't respond to user requests. If the latter, how many users work with the application, concurrently a the same time?

  • Where is security configuration for deployed web application stored

    Hi,
We have deployed a folder as a web application. The changes I am making in Deployments -> web application -> Security -> URL Pattern -> Roles -> Edit a Stand-Alone Web Application URL Pattern Scoped Role is not saved and it is getting lost when I restart the application.
For example I have added "AppTesters" group in "valid-users" url-pattern.
Can anybody help me where these settings are stored and why it is not getting saved across application restarts.
    Thanks,
    Sambath.

How are you restarting your weblogic Admin Server?
This is only possible if some how while your Admin Server is restarted, the ldap directory that is present int the %DOMAIN_HOME%/your_domain/servers/AdminServer/data directory is deleted or updated with the previous values.
This may give you some idea how to proceed with this issue.
    Thanks,

  • Can I deploy an application as ROOT url?

I have an application, which the linking and redirection urls use the absolute link. So, if i deploy it, I must deploy it as ROOT for runing. but in the Oracle9ias I can not find out how to do, any one can help me? thanks a lot.

    Hi,
Amazingly enough, I'm stuck with the same problem! Chech the thread that I've started:
    Re: Count(*) doubt
At this point I have one question: are you using the standalone oc4j or the 9iAS?
I have troubles with deploying my application in 9iAS under the root dir. For an unknown reason, the opmn.exe (oracle process manager) crashes completly.
Note that I took the exact steps as you did in order to mount my application. The only difference probably is that I have a servlet in the fromt that intercepts all the requests. See the thread that I've pointed out for more about this.
Please tell me if you have had any problems (crashes or anything unusual) deploying your application under ROOT.
    Thanks a lot!

  • Deploy an application - Use a different workspace and different schema

    Hi,
I have completed my application in my testing server, database, schema, and workspace. And now I would like to deploy my application to the live server with different database, schema and workspace.
I have gone through the Application Express User’s Guide and I have managed to export and import my old app to my new application. However, I failed to import my table from old database schema to my new schema. So, I can’t able to open my new application due to error in executing authorization scheme code.
May I know how do I import my old schema to my new schema and both schema are different name.
    Thanks.

Create a database link in your production environment and use the following script to update the content of the tables from your development:

  • Set deployment order at deployment

    Hi All,
This is my situation. i have a WLST deploy script to deploy a few EAR files (WLS 10). The first service is deployed in 5 minutes, the second takes 8 minutes, the third will take 12 minutes and so on until a timeout occurs. Every service takes more time to deploy (size is about the same). I think this has something to do with server getting buzzy with all the deployments. Is there a way to set the deployment order at deploy time so the server first handles all action for the first service before he starts handling the second service? Or is there some other solution to prevent the deployment script form timing out?
    Thanks

You can change to deployment order by first obtaining a reference to your deployment by using
deployments = cmo.getAppDeployments; Then the deployment order can be changed as follows:
    for deployment in deployments:
deployment.setDeploymentOrder(1);The deployment order can be set after you have deployed the application.

  • DSN Deployment across JRun4 (J2EE) Config

      Howdy,
I'm trying to figure out the most efficient way to deploy Datasources across multiple JRun4 instances of CF8.  Should I keep pursuing the full "ColdFusion8 as an application" deployment method, or is there a smaller, more modular way to address just DSN updates?  The reason being, I would be using similar DSNs across multiple physical servers, and it would save a lot of manpower to update it once and then auto-deploy across all servers.

It is possible to get just the DSN information using the "Deployment and Archive" feature to create a "CAR" ColdFusion Archive file that can be deployed on other servers.
It is possible to get just the DSN information by copying the relevant *neo.xml files from one server to another server and restarting the second server.
One of those options may be of use to you.

In order to resolve it I have taken the Adobe Credential File from SAP and put it under /usr/sap/<SAPSID>/SYS/global/AdobeDocumentServices/ TrustManagerService/trust/credentials directory as "003265.pfx", i.e. extracted zip file put here.
Now I opened the Visual Administrator and moved to Cluster tab, choose Server <x> -> Services -> Document Services Configuration
On the tab, select Runtime tab -> Credentials
    Put the values as follows
    Alias : ReaderRights
P12 File : clicked on browse and select the "003265.pfx"
    sha1 : <blank>
Password : XXXXXX (Given by SAP)
    Confirm Password : XXXXXX
And after that clicked on ADD button, then a message comes as follows
<b>An error occured while updating the credential expiry date for alias 'ReaderRights':Error Retrieving credential expiry: ReaderRights
Show Addtional Messages? with "Yes" and "No" button</b>
Also I restarted the PDF Manipulation Module, but still getting the same above error while deploying and same message on selecting "Document Services Configuration"
Can someone tell me how I can solve this error
    Regards

    Hi Francios,
The pop-up error message has gone. The problem is with the rights with the folder "credential" means I have added the credential file to the /usr/sap/<SAPSID>/SYS/global/AdobeDocumentServices/TrustManagerService/trust/credentials directory and done the steps as given in first message too but it does not set the Expiry Date.
Now I have given the full rights to credentials directory in Operating System and done these steps again.
This time it also fetches the Expiry date and the pop-up error message has gone.
So, there is no problem with JCE installation.
But again when I deployed the Travel Request Application the same error message is coming which is in my first message.
I am again putting some statements from my first message
    <b>Caused by: com.sap.tc.webdynpro.pdfobject.core.PDFObjectRuntimeException:
Processing exception during a "UsageRights" operation.
    Request start time: Mon Mar 12 16:02:47 GMT+05:30 2007

    Specific error information:
error while logging into credential ^0
    GeneralError: Operation failed.
    SecurityHandler.login:-1:
Could not open Digital ID file with the password provided. Please try again.</b>
Now when I am going through /tmp/adobewa_SPD_18828050/DM4291422590189871105.dir/DM-3572217866344419510.tmp
I come to know that upto /tmp/adobewa_SPD_18828050 it exists but DM4291422590189871105.dir/DM-3572217866344419510.tmp does not exist.
So what to do now. Please suggest.
    Regards
    Deep
