Order of pages on sheet reversed!
I'm printing a multi page PDF, 2 pages per paper sheet, side by side across the width of a landscape oriented A4. The problem is, Preview forces the order of pages to be reversed, ie page 1 is on the right and page 2 is on the left!
I have modified ALL the settings for the print dialog, and it continues to place these pages in reverse order per sheet!
can anyone else replicate this?
I want each sheet to be like an open book. You start on the top left, read the left half of the A4, then you move over to the second half - the most logical way to do it but Preview is not playing nice!
ok, 3 seconds after writing that post, and after about an hour of fiddling I have got what I need and it seems only by accident!
I tried it one more time, and this time i forgot to click "landscape" orientation - and it printed the pages the correct order! that makes NO sense!!
if I'm choosing landscape-2pagespersheet, it prints landscape and reverses the order of the sheets, but if I choose portrait-2pagespersheet, it prints it landscape but in the right order!! all i can say is ***?

My first post here. I did a search but didn't see an answer to my question.
How can I get equal margins when printing two pages per sheet?
I print aviation approach plates 2 pages per sheet and fold the sheet of paper in half and carry with me in a knee board. I had no problem doing this until last week after my hard drive was changed. The steps I normally take are:
click file
print
print range: all
copies: 1
page scaling: multiple pages per sheet
pages per sheet: 2
page order: horizontal (for the first pass through the printer and horizontal reversed for the second pass)
print to file: box checked
the preview now shows a winder margin on the left side of the page than the right.
I can't figure out any way to even the margins. Anyone have any ideas?

Printing a multi page pdf -with multiple pages per sheet
In order to save paper I create multiple page pdfs and in the print dialog box under Layout I select Pages per Sheet 2 , etc. The problem is when i try to print out the document, it only prints out the first page. The other pages fail to print. this only occurs when printing a pdf in this way. I have already re-installed Acrobat.
error on printer is: error typecheck offending command and the file name changes on the printer to acr.000000.tem
I'm using acrobat 8. Printing to a xerox docu-color printer.
Mac 10.4.11Nope, that's a Flash-only effect. Sometimes people try to embed a SWF (Flash file) into a PDF, but that only plays like it's a movie, and doesn't work well.
I think you should give up on the idea if you want to use PDF as the distribution method. -
"Pages" and "Sheets" columns in Server Admin Print Service Jobs
I've been using Print Service for a while now and it's been working reasonably well.
When I'm monitoring queues in Server Admin, I've noticed there are columns for "Pages" and "Sheets." These columns are always blank for every print job in every print queue.
I am not using Print Quotas, but I am managing Preferences for Printing in Workgroup Manager.
I have two questions:
1) Any idea why these columns are blank? Does the client-side and/or server-side printer driver have to support this feature? I'm using HP's latest Laserjet drivers for each queue on both the clients and the server. Perhaps these columns are only applicable when using Print Quotas?
2) If these columns did show something, what would be the difference between "Pages" and "Sheets?" Apple's own documentation offers no description. All their Print Service manual says is:
"Jobs are listed in priority order, and include the name of the user who submitted each job, the name of the job, its size, the number of sheets to be printed, the current status of the job, and the number of pages in the job (you might need to scroll to see the page column)."
Pretty vague...

Apple Mail - Printing without margins and/or headers, multiple pages per sheet
I have orders coming in by email that I need to print out as packing sheets/order tickets. In the email I have the submissions set to come in as html tables, all of a uniform size. I want to print 4 per page, and can do that by selecting 4 emails, "Print", and then 4 pages per sheet in the print settings and it gives me 4 unique orders on one sheet. But the giant standard margins make it so the submission tables are way too small (they could easily be almost double the size and fit fine on the sheet) and I don't want the email header information displayed. This really doesn't seem like too much to ask, I hope it's not really as impossible as all the forums make it seem! In another forum, BDAqua mentioned possibly making a script for this?
The order submissions are generated from my form on Jotform. This is a great form builder, at least in my first-time experience, but seems lacking in output options - reports can only be generated as tables, and on the web-based submission viewer the print options are extremely limited as well. I have also experimented with Excel: Jotform will export submissions all together on one excel spreadsheet, but in my situation that would mean I would have to figure out how to print each row separately. I spent some time on the excel forums and from what people said it sounds like a huge headache and very tedious. I created this form in order to save a lot of time in taking down orders, so it would be really nice to be able to print them directly in quarter-sheet format. Even in full-sheet format, I still wouldn't want the email headers or all the white space.
Any ideas? I'm running 10.9 on a 2009 MacBook Pro 13", and have a basic Brother HL-2070N laser printer and an Epson Workforce 610 (DC8508) - either would serve the purpose, but I doubt this issue has anything to do with which printer I'm using. However, this will require the services of a Filemaker analyst and programmer to create and maintain the system. Don't forget the system will need almost continuous maintenance and enhancement.

Printing multiple pages per sheet using a PostScript driver and GhostScript.
I have three PDF files containing a total of 165 pages. I would like to print 162 of these pages onto two sides of a 8.5 × 11 in. "Letter" size paper. That is 81 pages per sheet. I don't care about loss of clarity or readability, just that fact that there are 81 (or I suppose 80 would be possible and would fit much nicer) pages of the document shown. I've seen this done before, so it is possible. It involved printing using a PostScript driver. I don't own a PostScript printer, so GhostScript will take the resulting PostScript document and print it on a non-PostScript printer.
The first issue I'm having is with using the PostScript driver to print 80 pages per sheet. The only printing options I can find allow you to print 1, 2, 4, 6, 9, or 16 pages per sheet, no customizable value present.

There's no "Custom..." to choose from.
Edit: Alright! I solved my own problem. In order to print a customizable number of pages per sheet 'Page Scaling', under the 'Page Handling' section of the 'Print' window, must be set to "Multiple pages per sheet". At this point more options populate the window, one of which is a new but seperate dropdown for 'Pages per sheet' with "Custom..." as a selection. This is different, however, from the 'Print' window's 'Properties' sub-window which has a form entry drop-down for 'Pages Per Sheet'. Hurray for unintuitive software GUIs! Hopefully this post will help others. -

Can't turn off multiple pages per sheet - I used this option for one pdf document and now the settings are sticking. I don't want to always print 2 by 2. I was able to set a Custom Multiple page to "1 by 1" but this seems silly. How do I get the default single page printing back?

How do I print front and back with two pages per sheet? (OSX Lion)
I can't find a simple solution to my situation...
I'm using Max OSX Lion 10.7.3 and Adobe Reader X 10.1.2.
I want print two PDF pages onto one printed sheet, and I want to print front and back. When I go to the print settings and select two pages per printed sheet, the sample window shows me what I'm looking for. But when I tell it to print odd only or even only, it changes the print selection. Here's what happens...
Let's say I have a PDF document that is 20 pages long. When I tell it to print two PDF pages per sheet, it shows me that the first pages printed will be PDF pages 1 and 2. When I tell it that I want it to print odd pages only, it tells me that the first printed page will contain PDF pages 1 and 3.
In other words, Adobe Reader wants to print the odd PDF pages instead of the odd pages of the printed document (PDF pages 1 and 2, then 5 and 6, then 9 and 10, so on).
So that I'm being clear...
This [ ] is a printed page. The numbers inside the brackets represent the page numbers in the PDF document...
What I want to print is this...

Aside from telling it exactly which PDF page numbers to print (this would be a taxing job because I'm working with a 273 page document), is there an easy and simple way to print how I'd like?I would suggest to use Adobe Ilustrator. Also I get an error message when I try tp access the sample document.

How do I print multiple (PDF) pages per sheet in Lion?
The printing interface has changed in preview, and whereas there used to be an option to print multiple pages per sheet, there's now only an option to print multiple copies per sheet. The latter is of no use to me, whereas printing multiple pages per sheet was very useful since I often print large documents.
Well, in Snow Leopard I used to print PDFs from Preview, and if I recall correctly, where it now says 'copies per page', it used to say 'images per page'. So of course, I now have a couple of printouts with two copies of each page per sheet.
But the preview tab and then the option 'layout' works. I don't understand why this interface had to change though.

I have an iMac less than 1 year old with lion o/s and numbers. i have been spoiled in the printing of spread sheets on PC's. I find it impossible to print only 1 page when printing a single page spread sheet. The result is my spread sheet spread over several sheets of paper with no usable spread sheet printed. Can anyone help this 86 year old man who has been to the Apple Store twice to learn this but I still have trouble. Thanks in advance for your help. jim

Take heart. We can help.
First turn on page view so you can see how the content of your sheet fits on the page(s). A Numbers document contains sheets (listed on the left) which in turn contain tables, charts, text, and graphics. Select the sheet you want to print on the left, then enable page view by selecting the menu item:
"View > Show Print View":
Now you should see your content and how it fits on one, or more, pages. If thie content is too big for one page use the controls and the bottom left of the window to expose the sheet controls:

4 "Pages per Sheet" in Printer dialog no longer works
I frequently print my documents to PDF 4 pages to a sheet, using the Save As PDF option in the Printer dialog (i.e., I don't have Acrobat installed). The last time I did this about 2 weeks ago, it worked fine. Today, it ignores my settings of 4 pages to a sheet and prints every page as a separate "sheet" in the PDF. The only thing I know of that has changed over the past two weeks is the update to 10.5.7. How do I fix this so I can print 4 pages to a sheet again?
Thank you.My problem is solved. I spent a lot of time on the phone with Apple support. When they mentioned I might need a printer driver update to keep up with the OS update, I noticed that I no longer had any printer installed at all. I don't know how that happened, but I will assume it had to do with the OS update.
I plugged in a printer, added its driver (which I later noticed caused me to have a new one, plus the original one reappeared), disconnected the printer (I don't want hard copy), and now it works perfectly as it did before. I get 4 pages per sheet like I should.
Don't ask me why the existence of a printer should matter when I am only creating a PDF. But that is what happened.

OAF Tutorial Extension - To add Site Name in Purchase Order Summary Page
I have gone through all steps for adding Supplier Site Name for Purchase Order Summary Page. It works but seems it shows SiteID instead of Site Name.
The main instructions says
Step 2.3 Create Your New View Object (VO)
Make a copy the PoSummaryVO query statement before you begin creating your new VO. Expand the oracle.apps.fnd.framework.toolbox.tutorial.server package in the Navigator pane and edit PoSummaryVO. In the View Object Editor, select Query to display the query statement for this VO. Make a copy of the query statement.
Create a new VO, named <YourName>PoSummaryVO, that extends oracle.apps.fnd.framework.toolbox.tutorial.server.PoSummaryVO.
Create the VO in the <yourname>.oracle.apps.fnd.framework.toolbox.tutorial.server package.
Add the oracle.apps.fnd.framework.toolbox.schema.server.SupplierSiteEO entity object. Leave the Read Only and Reference checkboxes checked. We are going to use this entity object only for read-only purposes.
Add the SupplierSiteId and SiteName attributes from the SupplierSiteEO entity object.
Paste the query statement that you copied from PoSummaryVO into the query statement field for <YourName>PoSummaryVO. Now append the following SQL phrases to the copy of the PoSummaryVO query statement to compose the query statement for the <YourName>PoSummaryVO.

Select the Personalize Page global link.
In the Choose Personalization Context page, select Page: <Yourname> Framework Toolbox Tutorial: Multistep Create from the Scope poplist and select the Apply button.
In the Personalize Page page, check the Complete View radio button for the Personalization Structure. Expand the Stack Layout: Purchase Order Summary Region node, locate the Table: Purchase Orders Table entry in the page hierarchy and select the Create Item icon.

In the Personalize Page Hierarchy page, select the Return to Application link. Now you should see the Supplier Site column added to the Orders Table as shown in Figure 1 (you should see your name in the page title).
Note: We set the View Instance to PoSummaryVO1 and not <YourName>PoSummaryVO1. The BC4J substitution will take care of properly creating an instance of <YourName>PoSummaryVO1 at runtime in place of the PoSummaryVO1.
It does not show site name, it shows site id after havig done personalization.
Any idea why it would show site id and not site name.
KDWhat I found is there are 2 variables SiteName and SiteName1, if you use SiteName1 then it shows proper value as a site description. I replaced SiteName with SiteName1 and it works. This might help to all who are like me and trying Tutorial example.
I am not sure how many may have tried OAF - Tutorial examples. They are really complicated and not easy and in most cases they are not coming out in first try but if you really try then it will give lot of understanding. -
