Orga and expense hierarchy in discoverer

Hi,
we currently test the functionality and performance of the discoverer product. hierarchies which can be set up in discoverer (as described in the admin manual) are created using attributes from the underlying table(s). Business Area -> Cost Center -> Cost Category -> Year -> Month. That's easy and easy to understand. We want to built a scenario (in a cross tab) that has an organizational hierachy on the left (treeview) and cost categories on the top or a cost category hierachy on the left and cost centers on the top (treeview). we also have a structure pool (with parent / child relations) for both structures. is it possible to create such a structure ? i have found no hint in the documentation how to do that. thanks for your help in advance.

Hi,
You will have to join the X_HIERARCHY table in twice, once for the parent and once for the grand-parent.
To do this you need to create a new folder in your EUL, e.g. X_HIERARCHY2. Then drag the items from X_HIERARCHY into X_HIERARCHY2. Then create a join between X_HIERARCHY and X_HIERARCHY2 using X_HIERARCHY2.child org id = X_HIERARCHY.parent org id.
Then when you create your report your can include parent name from both X_HIERARCHY and X_HIERARCHY2.

    We have Activated FM-BCS to one of our client for budget tracking.  Our client needs Employee wise expenses tracking for better and effective control. There is a requirement of capturing the budget Amount and Actual Amount on the basis of Expenses wise, Department Wise and Employee wise.  For Example: Client wants to maintain the budget Employee wise Department wise and Expenses. Like
    Employee No (PERNR): 1234
    Department (Cost Center): Marketing
    Expenses (GL Code): Telephone Expenses
    Grouping of Expenses: Operating Expenses
    Tracking Method: How much one Employee 1234 has budget for Telephone expenses and how much he has spend over a particular period.
    So we have mapped as follows in FM-BCS to address the above issue:
    Cost Center = Fund Center
    GL Code = Commitment Items
    Group of Expenses = Fund
    Through FMBB, we have given the budget values as follows:
    Fund+Fund Centers+Commitment Items.  And actuals also we could capture.
    But we are not able to map the Employee numbers in FM. How to accommodate / map the employee nos to FM Account Assignments. Can we map employee numbers to Funded Programs (700 employees in number and Overhead GL codes are around 50)

    Hi,
    To start with, choosing 'fund' for representing group of expenses, does not make much sense. Your expenses are already mapped by commitment items, being representative object for G/L. If you want to group those, you can use simple hierarchy of commitment items. 'Fund', when used properly, belongs more to budget domain, rather than to the expenses. For example, it could represent the source of the budget.
    Secondly, having budget control on employee level sounds bit strange. Is your client going to budget 700 employees with different combinations of G/Ls? For what reason? And what happens if employee exceeds the budget? They won't pay him? All this does not make much sense. I understand, if you want to collect statistical data on the expenses made by employees. You can do it either via CO (internal order) or via self-developed reports based on PERNR.

  • Reg- Travel and Expense in ESS

    Hi All
    We have already implemented Travel and Expense in ESS. Now we have below issue
    When the user creates Expense Report (Self Service -> Travel & Expense in ESS portal), at Review and Send step (step-3), there is a button - "Display Reimbursement Details"
    If user clicks this button, a PDF form is opened in new window. Problem is, all the expense types (like Airfare, Employee Activities, etc) are grouped under Others and showed in Summary of Expense Reports in the PDF form
    My doubt is, how this pdf form is getting generated, is it from std. SAP or by means of config. we need to handle? Also user says, previously it was working fine (means- All the expense types were displayed correctly in Summary of Expense Reports in the PDF form)
    But now all expenses are clubbed and showed as Others with total amount. Please help me and provide your inputs

    check
    V_T706S_RECEIPT and V_T706B1
    Furthermore, in FITVFELD_WEB can you check that you have the field
    'receipt date' activated, it checks the entries in V_T706S_RECEIPT
    Please also check the customising in FITVFELD_WEB to ensure corresponds
    with customising in FITVFELD etc
    One more thing to consider is the Badi "TRIP_WEB_CUSTOMIZING" as this
    makes it possible to limit the expense types for the dropdown list if
    this is a requirement but it does it before the trip schema is
    chosen. That means that the limitation will affect all the schemas, and
    not only one.

    As per my knowledge goes, We can see from Administrator which Folder is associated with a Workbook. Else you may have to manually open each and every workbook and look for the objects.

  • Calendar that includes mileage and expenses

    Ok, first of all sorry for the no response-response.  I was trying to type on my phone and talk to my kids at the same time which obviously doesn't work.  Here's my question.  For some reason my new Vista computer doesn't have Outlook Express on it and I can't get my Curve 8330 to sync with the Yahoo calendar.  I am looking for an app that is like a day planner so I can have a calendar and also track mileage and expenses.  Thanks for the help.

    Very ODD this feature does not exist. Other sites claimed this was an "oversight" by Apple. I tell yah, Apple has the biggest group of wishy-washy users of all time. Cannot belive how many holes there are in in iOS compared to Android. Anyways, I found that I had to download a free app call Reply to All. It does not run native in your calendar and you have to launch it seperately to reply all to an existing calendar event. This has been a feature in Touchdown for Android for years. I'm just shocked that such a commonly used feature does not exist in iOS.

  • Use Tax Posting To Tax Payable and Expense Account

    Hello Experts,
    I am trying to post tax, code 03, to an expense account instead of the customer account at the time of billing. This is for use tax posting based on the costs of our materials and should be paid by company and not passed to the customer. Currently The percentages will base from the cost of material instead of sale price but this is posting to our tax payable account and to customer account as below:
    Dr Customer Account 1.27
           Cr Revenue -1.20
           Cr Use Tax Payable -.07
    The desired outcome would be as below:
    Dr Customer Account 1.20
         Cr Revenue -1.20
         Cr Use Tax Payable -.07
    Dr Use Tax Expense .07

    As you want to post to separate Tax payable and expense account ,so maintain a separate account key and assign it to the tax condition type in Pricing procedure .In VKOA assign the G/L accounts to that account key.So you have to take your FI Team members help to get the G/L accounts.and its assignment to the tax code.

  • Javascript:void(0) error after clicking buttons in my trips and expenses

    Hi All,
    I have implemented EHP2 and activated FIN_TRAVEL_1, now I am getting all the ABAP webdynpro iviews.
    BUT when i go to "my trips and expenses" and try to click any button there like; create travel request, plan, exit, etc...
    than I get the message at the bottom left of page "javascript:void(0)"
    but when i actually go tarvel and expenses-->create new - Create Travel Request than i can create a new request and same is the case with create new plan and create expense report.
    Now in none of the screen Display form does not work, even exit, cancel button do work.
    I searched for this in form and found that this might be probably due to missing roles so I gave the following roles but still the same error:
    SAP_FI_TV_ADMINISTRATOR
    SAP_FI_TV_ADVANCE_PAYER
    SAP_FI_TV_MANAGER_GENERIC
    SAP_FI_TV_TRAVEL_ASSISTANT

    Sorry for the late response....was actually really busy with my ess implementation...so i thought that i would update my forum once everything is working fine...
    coming back to error:
    the issue was probably with the host name...
    explanation:
    i was accessing my portal with [http://hostname:50000/irj/portal] which usually we do in normal scenario,
    but what i found was that when i was using EHP2 for travel module the screen were designed in abap webdynpro and on clicking any of the links i use to get javascript:void(0)....
    so after doing some RnD what i found is that if i access my portal with FQDN i.e: [http://hostname.domainname.com:50000/irj/portal] that the system understands the proper script to launch...
    plz update me if my understanding is wrong....

    My requirement is to create a new tab in the existing Tab strip in "Trip And Expense->My Trip And Expenses".
    At present I have a seperate WD Java Application for "My Aproval Status" now the requirement is to add a 4th tab and that tab has this WD java application to it.Can this be possible if yes how ? and if no then Why?.

    yes this is possible ........
    you just have to add a tab to the already made tab you have created ......now to the newly added tab just have an view ui container .......now in the windows of the code you can embed that already made program to the viw ui container.......
    hence whenever you will execute the code of tabstipr and select this new tab your code  "My Aproval Status" will be called automatically......do remebre to declare the usage of the WD Java Application for "My Aproval Status"  in the property just in the same  manner we do when we declare the usage of alv in our code......

  • My Trips and Expenses - Webdynpro ABAP - Change Copy Delete button links

    Hello All,
    We are using ESS and MSS applications in our scenario. We are using EHP4 version of ECC6.0.
    I have configured my homepage framework with custom entries in SAP (resources, services, ... ) and custom Portal content (iviews, pages, ...  copied from SAP delivered stuff ). I have a very good understanding of this and I have no issues with the portal navigation and tying my custom homepage framework entries to the custom PCD locations.
    The only problem I have is with the Webdynpro ABAP application for "My Trips and Expenses". I can get to this application without any problem.
    Within the My Tirps and Expenses application, there are buttons for Displaying, Changing, Copying and Deleting existing Travel Trip Requests and Expense Reports. When I click on any of these buttons, the corresponding page/iview from the standard SAP ESS role is being launched. I would like to point these buttons to my custom page/iview from my custom role.
    I did not find any place where I can make this setting. I am not sure how the Service IDs for the standard SAP services are being linked to the application.
    I hope some one might have looked into this and any input would be really appreciated.

    I figured this out.
    This application makes use of Object Based Navigation and if you adjust the roles assigned to the user accordingly, this will automatically pick up the custom pages form the custom role.

    I have configured ESS and also all the backend configurations done.. But when i navigate ESS screens in portal..few of the screens are opening.. few are throughing errors..

    when we use ESS SP10 problem was solved.

    My problem is tabs that has to be deleted /hidden does not present in the Development system, but exist in the QA or the prd system.
    So how to implement the note when data is not present in the dev system and only exist in the QA/PRD system.

  • ESS Travel and Expense Language Problem

    Hi ,
    I have a strange problem with the travel and expense langauge in the project.
    Iam trying to add new messade id keys with values in the project esstratres~sap.com.
    I have to add these message id keys with values in english,french,german and spanish.
    I have added tmy custom keys in the respective .xlf language that come with the standard software component.
    Now my problem is when i change the browser language to english the language of t&e changes without any problem in english.
    When i later add the keys to fr,de,es files and try to change the browser language and view the content it only displays me the language of the last changed file for the whole portal application including the standard content.
    So in my case if i add key to fr and de first and then at last i add content to es .Now when i test the language set to french it displays the whole travel and expense application in spanish,the same happens if i select german.
    If i make changes to german at last and test the content it displays german in all the other browser langauges selected.
    We have set the JCO language to blank for displaying the portal content as per the browser language.
    Note : This happens to both my custom message id's as well as the standard generated message id's.

    First rule of development with NWDI is always test your changes locally before checking them out. Deploy this on your local J2EE Engine and see if the fields have been removed if so then check the deployed version changed date to see if this is in sync. you can see this in the System Info area http://localhost:50000/systeminfo.

  • Why is the support so bad and expensive?

    Putting in my serial number of a product that is now useless tells me I'm not covered by the support so I have to pay £25 to have someone call me.
    When I put in all my details so I can phone Apple myself I then get given a premium rate number to phone and when I get through I start getting asked the same questiuons I answered online ( to get my case number ) so the call is going to end up costing more than it should. The case number is supposed to make the call quicker.
    Why is help so expensive here?
    Why can't I just email support?

First it is not clear how I can set the Vendor Hierarchy, I want to upload vendors from R/3 and for that I can create a vendor group and then upload but then how I can make a Vendor Hierarchy and I am not sure that I understand the correct thing about Vendor Hierarchy?

    For using Product Cat.\Vendor\Contract hierarchy activate follwing before any data replication in EBP .
    Spro->SRM Server->Cross. App.->Activate Hierarchies for Product Categories, Vendors, and Contract .
