Orphan "Application Contacts" - Application Endpoints

I am getting six errors when the address book syncs.
They appear to be caused by some objects in "CN=Application Contacts,CN=RTC Service,CN=Services,CN=Configuration,DC=DOMAIN,DC=com".  Looking at ADSI or Sites & Services, I found the accounts display names are CAAPrivateContactObject-43b72ebd-7dc6-438e-b87b-d3354272ba59,
Conferencing Announcement Service, and RGS Presence Watcher.  There are two of each where the pool DN is a Deleted Object.
The error is Event ID: 30019, Source: LS User Replicator (repeats six times with the different CN)
DN:CN={C9A5427D-0D3C-40E0-9531-96D7CB446DE7},CN=Application Contacts,CN=RTC Service,CN=Services,CN=Configuration,DC=DOMAIN,DC=com
The pool DN that was specified for a user is invalid.  This typically means that the given pool DN attribute could not be resolved to a valid FQDN.  This attribute has been ignored.
pool DN Active Directory attribute name:msRTCSIP-PrimaryHomeServer
pool DN Active Directory attribute value:CN=LC Services\0ADEL:d6e0e41b-929e-41fd-90a9-454efecfc898,CN=Deleted Objects,CN=Configuration,DC=DOMAIN,DC=com
Can I remove the six objects that reference deleted pools? Is there a recommended method or can they be safely removed via ADSI/Sites & Services?
Thank you!

To fix Problem LS User Replication, you have to run a Lync PowerShell command line.
First run the following command line to check which Domains are configured for user replications
>> Get-CSUserReplicatorConfiguration
And check the value of ADDomainNamingContextlist to see which domains are listed.
You can remove the domain causing the problem or add only one domain you want to be checked by using:
>> Set-CsUserReplicatorConfiguration -Identity global –ADDomainNamingContextList @{add=”dc=lyncdude,
dc=local”}
>> Set-CsUserReplicatorConfiguration -Identity global –ADDomainNamingContextList @{remove=”dc=lyncdude,
dc=local”}
And that what I did, I added only the domain that should be checked for users.

  • Using a trusted application endpoint to initiate a scheduled conference

I am trying to develop a UCMA 4.0 application on top of Lync 2013 whereby I use a trusted application endpoint to create a scheduled conference. Prior to the conference I would like to send the details of when the conference will take place and how to connect
via mail.  During the process of the conference I would like to be able to invite users ad-hoc by dialing out to them.
I have successfully managed to get the ad-hoc part of this functionality working using an app I developed based on the TrustedConferenceParticipant example in the UCMA 4.0 documentation, however I cannot get the trusted application endpoint to create a scheduled
    conference.
I did attempt to run the ConfernceManagement example, however even though the logs showed that all the audio-visual channels had been successfully created and connected, the actual Lync Clients received no invitation and were not connected to the conference.
Thanks in advance for any help.

  • Orphaned Applications in software center

I have seen this a few times but seems to be intermittent.  I created a query based user collection.  My test user account was part of that collection.  I deployed an app to the collection.  The user was able to see it in the app catalog
and install it successfully.  The user then uninstalled the app successfully.  The app stills shows in Software Center as available (which appears to be normal although I wish the behavior would be that it would disappear).  But that's not the
issue.  So I no longer wanted the user to be able to deploy this application that they previously installed and uninstalled.  Since it is a query based collection which the user should be in, I added an exclude collection that just had the user account
in it  which seemed to work fine.  The exclusion collection caused my test user account to drop out of the collection.  After a few minutes, the app dropped out of the app catalog which is good and what I expected.  The problem here is
that the app still remains in Software Center and shows as available and the user can still continue to install and uninstall this app.  I have forced user policy several times with no change and let it sit for a few hours with still no change.  As
a test I then removed all membership from the collection so that it was completely empty.  Still no change.  I then deleted the collection and the deployment and still no change.  I have also forced machine policy and application deployment
evaluation cycles and still no change. I have ensured that there are no other deployments of this app, it is not a dependent app of any other app either.  So I am left with an app that I can still install/uninstall from software center with no existing
deployments of that app.  Other times I have done similar and the app does disappear from Software Center after updating user policy.  But definitely once or twice in the past I have seen this behavior as well.  In the past I believe I removed
and re-installed the configmgr client to get rid of the orphaned apps.  I have not done that yet this time in the hopes of troubleshooting further.  Has anyone ran into anything like this?

Thanks, but I am the person that originally posted that issue.  This issue is similar but much worse.  That one was just a nuisance in that the apps remain available in software center after you have performed an uninstall.  But to workaround
that problem I would have to somehow get the user out of the collection that was targeted with the deployment and that usually got the app to drop out of software center.  In this case however, the app remains even after deleting the collection and the
deployment.  So this app is no longer deployed to anyone but the user with the app orphaned in software center can still install and uninstall it.  I even cleared the cache on the user machine thinking that would at least cause it to fail to install
next time but the user was able to re-download content and install again.  So to me this one is much more serious than the first one.  I will have to file another case.  But curious if anyone else has seen this and for now if anyone has a workaround
like perhaps finding the policy and deleting it or something that I can script.  Just started poking through policy spy but have not gotten far yet.

  • Initiall SharePoint Server 2013 setup -- unable to manage new User Profile Service Application

During initial farm setup, creating an initial User Profile Service Application works fine.  However, once it's created, I cannot 'manage' it through the Manage Service Applications page in central
    admin.
I get a generic error (Sorry, something went wrong / unexpected error) with a correlation ID that doesn't seem to match any ULS log entries. (Yes, I merged logs from all machines in the farm.)
A Windows event log entry says:
A failure was reported when trying to invoke a service application: Endpoint Failure
Also frequent errors in ULS logs:  (see below)
    UserProfileApplicationNotAvailableException
User Profile Application      Proxy failed to retrieve partitions from User Profile Application: Micro…
    SPDistributedCache DataCacheException
I did notice that the file 'ProfileService.svc does not exist in SharePoint's web services app at the URL you see in the error. (below)
I also found it interesting that the event log error shows 1 active endpoint and 3 failed endpoints.  I have 2 WFEs and 2 app servers.  But I'm only trying to get the user profile service app running on the application
servers.  I have deleted and recreated this service app several times under various names (deleted/recreated its app pool as well) and wonder if these other failed endpoints could be orphans from previous instances...
Any thoughts on how I might successfully create this service application?  I've already been Binging my head against a wall long enough that I would have been better off reinstalling the entire farm...  I may still
    do that.
FYI, my farm came from a slipstreamed SP1 install package, and received the July CU after several other things were already configured, including the already-failed UP service application.

  • Response Groups - Duplicate "Built In" Services - Multiple Default Routing Endpoints

    Hello,
I have a Lync 2013 deployment that has been migrated from OCS 2007, to OCS 2007 R2, to Lync 2010, and now to Lync 2013. I am including that information as that may be important for the following discussion.
When the Response Group Service starts, it logs four error messages which I will place at the bottom of this post. The error messages point to duplicate routing endpoints for the same service. Upon review, it appears to me that I have duplicates of the following
two services, when I look up the below SIP addresses with Get-CSApplicationEndpoint.
    Announcement Service
    RGS Presence Watcher
My guess is that during one of these migrations, we ended up with a duplicate service. The problem is - how do I get rid of the duplicate, and how do I know which is the duplicate and which I want to keep? Error messages below.

  • Having problem contacting Web Services

    Hi,
I have created a web application using BlazeDS and everything works fine locally. But when I tried to put it on the web, nothing happened. I don't succeed to access my Web Services, but my blazeDS application is well configured because when I try to contact the endpoint, I have the blank page. I put, in the flex compiler of my flex project, -services "../WebContent/WEB-INF/flex/services-config.xml", to set where is my configuration and you can find in attachment all my configuration files. My WS are deployed in the same web app so what's wrong ?

  • "out of date" or Orphan package; how to help ?

    Hi,
I have found several packages in AUR marked as "out of date" or Orphan. I would like to help to update them, or take them as a maintainer.
However, I am not a Trusted User currently so I can't do this.
Is there any way that I could better help on this, aside from leaving a comment to the package ?

To be more precise, Unsupported orphans can be adopted by anyone. Community orphans can only be adopted by TUs.
Out-of-date packages in Unsupported should be flagged for the maintainer's attention. If an Unsupported package is significantly out of date, you can ask for it to be orphaned by contacting the aur-general mailing list.

  • Excel issues with importing CSV or HTML table data from URL - Sharepoint? Office365?

    Greetings,
We have a client who is having issues importing CSV or HTML table data as one would do using Excel's Web Query import from a reporting application.  As the error message provided by Excel is unhelpful I'm reaching out to anyone who can help us begin to
troubleshoot problems affecting what is normal standard Excel functionality.  I'd attach the error screenshot, but I can't because my account is not verified....needless to say it says "Microsoft Excel cannot access  the file https://www.avantalytics.com/reporting_handler?func=wquery&format=csv&logid=XXXX&key=MD5
Where XXXX is a number and MD5 is an md5 code.  The symptoms stated in the error message are:
    - the file name or path does not exist
-The file is being used by another program
-The workbook you are trying to save has the same name as a currently open workbook.
None of these symptoms are the case, naturally. The user encountered this with Excel2010, she was then upgraded to Excel2013 and is still experiencing the same issue. The output of this URL in a browser (IE, Chrome, Firefox) is CSV data for the affected
user, so it is not a network connectivity issue.  In our testing environment using both Excel2010 or 2013 this file is imported successfully, so we cannot replicate.  The main difference I can determine between our test environment and the end-user
is they have a Sharepoint installation and appear to have Office365 as well.
So,  my question might more appropriately be for Sharepoint or Office365 folks, but I can't be sure they're  a culprit.  Given this - does anyone have any knowledge of issues which might cause this with Sharepoint or Office365 integrated with
Excel and/or have suggestions for getting more information from Excel or Windows other than this error message?  I've added the domain name as a trusted publisher in IE as I thought that might be the issue, but that hasn't solved anything.  As you
can see its already https and there is no authentication or login - the md5 key is the authentication.  The certificate for the application endpoint is valid and registered via GoDaddy CA.
I'm at a loss and would love some suggestions on things to check/try.
    Thanks  -Ross

    Hi Ross,
    >> In our testing environment using both Excel 2010 and 2013 this file is imported successfully, so we cannot replicate.
I suspect it is caused by the difference of web server security settings.
KB: Error message when you use Web query to a secure Web page (HTTPS://) in Excel: "Unable to open"
    Hope it will help.

  • Connect to SAP Cluster Gateway failed

    Hi all,
We have outbound idoc from SAP clusters for further configuration.
We have java applications deployed in IBM WebSphere Application Cluster (WAS_A and WAS_B)
At SAP side, we have 2 SAP instance, CI and DI with ACSC configuration,
    For the gateway ports,
    1. 3336 for CI
    2. 3326 for DI
    3. 3316 for ASCS
For outbound idoc, RFC is created to pointing at host and gateway. (ASCS and 3316)
    We encountered the following errors

If we set RFC pointing at either DI or CI only, it works.  However, it does not work for ASCS.
Please help what else we are missing or any notes can be referred.

    Hi DinyBee,
I am assume you have an URL that can get response from your OData Channel Gateway Service. You can test this in your browser. The URL should be something like this: http://gateway.company.com:8000/sap/opu/sdata/sap/APPLICATION/XXXCollection?sap-client=100&$format=xml
If the URL is working, you can setup an Application Connection in your SCC by follow the steps:
    1. Select Applications, then go to Application Connection tab
    2. Register a new User, with all the correct Server information, remember specify your activation code.
    3. After you register the user, at the same Application Connection tab, select your user, and click Properties.
    4. Go to Proxy option, and you insert the URL "http://gateway.company.com:8000/sap/opu/sdata/sap/APPLICATION/" into the Application Endpoint. Then click OK.
    5. In your iOS application code, you register your Application using the object LiteSUPUserManager, and then get the Application Endpoint by using object LiteSUPAppSetting.
    6. Now, your application already got Online in the SUP, and the application also know which URL it should connect to.
    7. From now on, you can use object SDMRequestBuilder to build the request, and get the response from the OData Gateway.
This is just a high level steps for you to reference, you should refer to Sybase documentation to get more information about the objects that I mentioned.
    Thank you.

  • XML Parsing exception: org.w3c.dom.ls.LSException

    Hi All,
<p>We have a WSM(Webservice Management Application) product which will generate a 'Proxy WSDL URL' for a 'Real WSDL URL' and it does security/auditing/logging/routing and other stuffs at runtime while getting a webservice request (on Proxy WSDL) and route it to the Functional(Real WSDL URL - Application server where the actual webservice is deployed) endpoint.
On receiving response from the functional endpoint, it again comes back to WSM which has to just give the response back to the user unless and until some special policies are attached (like schema validation policy - it will validate the response body based on the schema XSD) </p>
    <p/>
<p>Here, while reading the response (from functional/application endpoint) over the wire and at the time of creating the actual SoapResponse (XmlResponse) for the end user
xercesImpl.jar is used to parse the data -lsParser.parse(lsInput); which is throwing the exception <b>"org.w3c.dom.ls.LSException: An invalid XML character (Unicode: 0x16) was found in the element content of the document" </b>when it sees not properly formatted XML at any cause (having incompatible data/special character).</p>
    <p/>
<p><b>As the exception does not even give enough information like where the XML is corrupt/having incompatible data/special character, we cant have a control to do anything from our application/product side ,as it is third party jar xercesImpl.jar. It would be really very helpful if we
    > either get a option/boolean to turn off the validation logic which is done internally in xercesImpl.jar at the time of parsing 'lsParser.parse(lsInput);'
    > or get additional information in the exception (original cause - like the incompatible/special character (or) a full corrupted response in the exception itself) with which we can get a clue to resolve the issue.</b></p>
    <p/>
    Thanks in Advance
    Priya

I did a search on Sun site, nothing came back.
    It is on http://xml.apache.org/xerces2-j though.
You might need to go there and download it. or make sure your
classpath includes the right jar file.

  • Getting Event 4907 on %AllUsersProfile% folders

We've got policy established that is supposed to audit failed attempts to access files in the All Users Profile directory, specifically for Symantec applications (Endpoint Protection, BackupExec).
We used Group Policy File Security to define audit policy on %AllUsersProfile%\Symantec\ on both Windows XP / 2003 systems and Windows 2008 / Windows 7 systems.  For some reason, on the 2008/7 systems, we're getting repeated messages of 4907 "Auditing
    settings on object were changed"
I've heard that this could be something to do with the way Windows 2008/7 user a symbolic link for the legacy references for areas such as All Users Profile.  Something like the policy attempts to set the audit settings on the sym link, end up propagating
to the actual folders, but then detect them missing on the sym link and attempt to reapply.  What I'm not sure of is how to fix this in my policy short of defining an absolute path to the version 5 kernel and version 6 kernel separately.
Am I ballpark here as to why the event 4907 is being generated?  The low count on this is 264 per object in one week.  The high end is 1298 occurrences in the same timeframe.

    Lany,
    Thanks for the reply.
I know what typically causes a 4907 event, but I think in this case it'd being done by Group Policy.  I have policy set under the Computer Policy > Security Settings > File System area that I use to enable auditing and specific ACLs on files and
    folders throughout my OS.
On of the folders in the target list is %AllUsersProfile%\Symantec.
I'm not haveing any problems on my Windows XP / Windows 2003 systems using the same policy, but I am only getting the excessive 4907 messages on Windows 7 and Windows 2008R2 servers and only from the C:\ProgramData\Symantec\ paths (all folders and files
    under this path).
The documentation says that in Windows XP, the %AllUsersProfile% resolves to C:\Documents and Settings\All Users Profile\, but in Windows Vista and newer, it is supposed to resolve to C:\ProgramData\.  That being said, I also know that Windows Vista
has symbolic links in place that, amoung other things, redirects legacy software from the C:\Documents and Settings\All Users Profile\ path to the C:\ProgramData\ path.
I'm wondering if in fact for Windows 7, the %AllUsersProfile% actually points to the legacy path / symbolic link?  This might cause GPO to attempt to set the ACLs and audit info via the symbolic link, then later find the sym link itself to be missing
the settings and trigger the GPO to attempt to apply the settings over and over.
Today, as you suggested, I'll check again the user name associated with the change, however I think it was logged as being Local Service or something of the like.  I do not think this is an individual attempting to make these changes by hand.
