OSB 10.3.1, WebLogic 10.3.0

I downloaded and installed Oracle Service Bus 10.3.1, which comes with WebLogic Server 10.3.0. Is there a supported, simple way of keeping the OSB while upgrading WebLogic to 11g (10.3.1)?
Cheers,
Morten T

You might hace noticed that entire OSB is actually a collection of ear and war files deployed on top of WLS. You might manually move them to WLS 11g. However this is not recommended* as OSB has not been verified for compatibility with WLS 11g. I would advice you to wait for the next release

  • OWSM security for a OSB service- authenticate from weblogic security realms

    Hello,
I have a requirement to add security to a OSB service.
The user details are configured in weblogic security realms. lets say there are ten different users.
I need to protect my osb service using OWSM policy & the policy should be configured to authenticate the user from realms.
I am new to OWSM & wondering if this is possible?
Can the experts please direct me to any docs or steps?
    Thanks

    Hi,
    Thanks for the links.
I followed the blog and configured it using oracle/wss_username_token_service_policy.
Now my requirement is to send the username, password from proxy to business and to the BPEL. (the bpel needs this username /password & and in header)
The issue I am facing is the proxy service is not sending the soap header details to business service.
I dont want to make the proxy as passthrough. (ie set Process WS-Security Header to NO)
I have to authorize on proxy level and then send the same credential details to business service?
So the question is, how can I retrieve the header after osb process it?
Can anyone please help me here?
    Thanks

  • OSB 11.6 in weblogic 12c

    Hello All,
I am trying to install OSB 11.6 in 12c, i am getting invalid OEPE Location.
After installing Weblogic 12c, it contains OEPE12.1.1.0.0, is this is the home for OEPE.
    Regards
    Praveen

    I think it expects 11.1.1.6.
When you install the OSB, you can also select custom installation and then de-select the IDE and examples (when you do not
    want a development environment).

    Hi Rahul,
Did you try the Bulk Import option in Workshop / Service Bus Console for the WSDL? Generally, this takes care of the dependent resources
    For Bulk Import, you can:
    a. From Editor:
    1. Select a Project and then a folder > right click > select Import > Oracle Service Bus - Resources from URL
    2. Give the URL of the WSDL file (I guess it would be http://10.131.29.86:7001/ServiceWeb/MailingListServiceService?WSDL), a resource name, and select WSDL from the drop down
    3. Click on Next / Finish. I believe the editor does an introspection, finds the dependent resources (if the exists, see additional comments below) and imports them into the environment
    b. From OSB Web Console
    1. Start a session
    2. Go To create New Resource and Select Bulk Imports. Rest of the steps remains the same
Additionally, you may also want to check:
    a. Whether the xsd document mentioned in the import statement is accessable. For this, from your development environment, open a web browser and type in the URL (ei. http://10.131.29.86:7001/ServiceWeb/MailingListServiceService?xsd=1). If it is accessable, you may want to save it for manual referencing, in case Bulk Import does not work
    b. Check if the XSD file thus obtained has any other import statements, refering to some other schemas. In that case, you may have to repeat the exercise for all dependent schemas, till you have covered the list.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Vivek

  • OSB: Debug logging

    Hi all,
I have proxy service with logging enabled and log level set to debug. However, when I use Log action with debug level set, I can't see any output from this action in WebLogic log file. I'm confused on how dubug messages in Weblogic log file are appearing when you are not seeing OSB logaction messages. Similar issue was resolved when I changed when weblogic log file severity to debug? Can you please check Log file : Severity level: in weblogic console. You might also want to change the Standard out : Severity level: to debug if you want those debug messages in STDOUT.

  • How to increase JVM memory for Web Logic 10.3.3 - OSB 11g

    Hello folks,
I am running OSB 11g on WebLogic 10.3.3 to call some services passing large XMLs requests. These XMLs are something around 10mb each. Unfortunately, I got errors regarding memory.
I am using Eclipse with OSB plugin to develop, and I have configured the weblogic server to start up it from the eclipse, thus I don't need to start up through command line.
I would like to know where I can change the memory arguments to start up the JVM which runs the WebLogic server. As I am starting up the server from eclipse, I can't change the memory size args from command line.
Is there a file where those arguments are stored? or some configuration on WebLogic console which I can increase the Xms and Xmx ?
    The JVM is jrockit_160_17_R28.0.0-679
This is the eclipse console output when the server is starting up:

    Hi Davinod,
Yes, the correct place is to change the memory arguments in the "setDomainEnv.cmd", however can you confirm if the changed memory arguments were reflected in the logs or not.
If yes then you need to try to increase the memory arguments again and test which is the best working memory argument suitable for your environment, this would take some trials.
However if the memory arguments are still not reflected then try to set it properly as shown below:
    set MEM_ARGS=-Xms1024m -Xmx1024m

  • OSB: class not found in custom xpath function

    Hi,
This week I was struggling with custom xpath functions in OSB. First I created a jar file that contained the class and the complete functionality including logging. It contains a class that does a DVM Lookup from the database. As a standalone function, called from JUnit test cases it functions perfectly. I use Apache commons logging with the libraries from the Weblogic installation.
But when I put this OSB Util Services jar in the osb-home/config/xpath-function, it turns out that somehow the Weblogic Console gets a conflict with the commons-logging libraries. So I deployed it just as an application library in weblogic console, to solve this breakage.
Then I created a simple separate class that only calls the method in the deployed library. I packaged that as a custom-osb-functions.jar for the osb-home/config/xpath-function. I managed to get if visible in OEPE. But when I test the xquery transformation resource on the server, I get:
Error executing the XQuery transformation: {http://www.bea.com/wli/common/xquery}XQueryException: Error invoking custom xquery java function: java.lang.reflect.InvocationTargetException

Can any one explain to me how I can get the OSB Util Services jar library in the same classpath as the custom-xpath-functions jar, without having it put along the custom-xpath-functions jar in the osb-home/config/xpath-functions folder (since that somehow breaks the weblogic console)?
How does the OSB classpath/classloading mechanisms work in this?
    Thanks in advance,

  • Need architecture guide to deploy OSB & OBPM with SOA?

    Hi ,
Is there architecture guide available for OSB + OBMP with SOA?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Noman

    Hi:
The one I know is http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14571_01/core.1111/e12036/overview.htm#sthref10
Now in 11.1.1.3 u can have SOA, BPM and OSB within the same Weblogic Domain, so the diagrams that u will find in the link can be extended with one additional Managed Server depicting OSB.
BPM is on top of the SOA Infra, so u already have it there,
    hope that helps
    best

  • SOA 11g and OSB

    Hi Guru's
is there any way where SOA 11ga nd OSB can share same Weblogic install or we need to install them seperately
    Regards
    Sahil

    Hi Sahil,
You have to upgarde your SOA suite 11g to PS2 (11.1.1.3), to extend it's domain for accomodating Oracle Service Bus. You can extend any of the following existing domains:
    Oracle WebLogic Server 10.3.3 domain
    Oracle SOA Suite 11.1.1.3.0 domain
    Oracle Service Bus 11.1.1.3.0 domain
More information, regarding installation is here -

  • Extending SOA domain with OSB classpath problem

Trying to extend SOA 11.1.1.3 domain with OSB but getting classpath errors on start-up of admin server. Thanks for the response mr. Taylor.
As I said, I extended my domain with single server topology and noticed that none of the osb modules were deployed on weblogic. So, although the domain is extended now It seems as if nothing happened since none of the osb features are working. This includes its console http://host:port/sbconsole which does not work, and also enterprise manager /em . I think there is something strange because when I tried to create a new domain, instead of extending, everything worked normal: Lots of OSB modules deployed on Weblogic and the /sbconsole and /em consoles working just fine. But I simple can't recreate the domain because of the multitude of configurations that would need to be redone.
Any help will be appretiated !
    Thanks

  • OSB : Installation of Eclipse for OSB.. Is there a standalone Version?

    All,
Sorry for the fairly rudementary question, however after seaching around on the Oracle OSB Downloads site, i can't see an answer.
My question is essentially is there a standalone version of Eclipse with OSB plugins that can be utilised? By this I mean just install Eclsipse and extend with OSB design time plugins.
urrently the only approach I can see when using the IDE, it to install the WebLogic with OEPE (manually unzipping for 64 bit clients) and then installing the OSB Server into the Weblogic Server / OEPE. Therefore at present I cant see how this can be acheived without installing all the components (WLS, OSB Server).
FYI, the clients preference is to utilise the IDE as apposed to utilising the Web OSDN Console for development? (for a number of reasons I won't go into). They are utilising SOA Suite 11.1.1.5 with Feature Pack for BPM
I appreciate any comments or expeirences regarding this
    Many Thanks
    Dave

    Dave,
My question is essentially is there a standalone version of Eclipse with OSB plugins that can be utilised? By this I mean just install Eclsipse and extend with OSB design time plugins.Unfortunately there is no standalone version available for OEPE with OSB plugins. If you want to use OSB plugins, you have to install OSB on the same machine.

  • OSB support database write operation

    Hi,
I am using OSB 10.3 in weblogic 10.3. I have a scenario like below.
Using a proxy service to read messages from a JMS queue. After reading the message I want to write the message content to the database table. Is it possible in OSB 10.3. If yes, could you please guide me how to do it.
    Thanks

  • OSB Pricing

    Hi all,
My client is going to purchase Oracle Service Bus for application services integration. As far as I am concerned, the price for OSB includes the WLS, so we don't need to pay for a separate WLS license. But the quotations my client received from several Oracle Partners here in Indonesia were OSB license plus separate WebLogic Server Suite license, and the sales person from Oracle confirmed that too. During POC last week, the technical guy from Oracle confirmed that OSB license includes WLS. Please anyone explain as to what is the exact pricing for OSB.
    Thanks in advance.
    Winno

    Hi All,
thanks for your responses. In the price list stated that processor license for WebLogic Suite Options: Service Bus is 23,000 which I perceived that the price for WebLogic Suite + Service Bus is 23K per processor, please confirm.
    Thanks,
    Winno
