OSB 10g Offline Endpoint URI is not working

We are facing an issue with marking Endpoint URI to offline on unavailability.
Have tried all possible ways to check this issue in environments by making all necessary configurations but somehow the URI's are not being marked out offline.
Please confirm if this is know issue or we missing anything out configurations?

There is no issue that I know of...
In my configuration I have state and Offline Endpoint URIs enabled and also monitoring and SLA alerts enabled...
I created an SLA alert that sends me email if an URI gets offline -- Any URI offline on all servers = true
It works for me...
How are you testing? What makes you believe the URI is not being marked as offline?

Is your query got resolved ,if not have you created the endpoint proper in the soamanager after selecting your service.
"Web Service Endpoint URI expected not found endpoint..' implies that endpoint is not created properly ,, so suggest you to delete the exsiting if any endpoints and recreated and then test with WSnavigator.

[OSB] Offline Endpoint URIs

Hello,
I am confused be the documentation regarding fail-over retries and black-listing of endpoints. I am reading: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E13159_01/osb/docs10gr3/operations/endpointurimgmt.html
Basically, what I can't understand is the "How to Mark a Non-Responsive URI Offline" part of the documentation at this point: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E13159_01/osb/docs10gr3/operations/endpointurimgmt.html#wp1079025
1) The documentation shows you how to mark an endpoint offline temporarily and how to do so permanently. But this is done manually by changing the operational settings. Is it possible to do so AUTOMATICALLY? I would want OSB to "black-list" an endpoint after X failed attempts and STOP trying it altogether for Y duration. It appears that this is not possible. However, the text under the "How to Mark an Endpoint URI Offline Temporarily " hints that it actually is: "+_On encountering a communication error_, the endpoint URI status is changed to Offline. When the retry interval has passed and this business service attempts to process a new request, it tries to access this endpoint URI.+". So the "On encountering a communication error..." part makes me believe that this setting is actually what I want. Is it?
2) Assuming that the above is indeed the feature I need, what happens with retries . Suppose I have 4 endpoints (E1, E2, E3, E4) in my business service and I've set my retry count to 3 (in order to try all servers before failing). What happens when an endpoint (e.g. E3) is temporarily offline? Will OSB still make 3 retries and therefore go back to the first "active" endpoint and try two times for that (i.e. E1 ----> 1st retry: E2 ----> 2nd retry: E4 ----> 3rd retry: E1 again)? I would prefer if the number of retries was decreased by one.
Does anybody know how all this actually works?

For 1) I think OSB will do that automatically if you checked that checkbox in the operational settings page of the business service

URI Scheme Not Working - Windows

The URI scheme is not working on Internet Explorer or any browser in Windows 8. I am using the URI scheme from the microsoft technet site. Oddly enough, it works flawlessly on apple computers - it launches the microsoft remote desktop app when i click on
the link that contains the URI scheme. On Windows 8, it says that no apps are installed to read that file type (rdp). I really need the use of this. Why is it working on macs but not on pc's running windows?

OSB 10gR3 - Process WS-Security flag not working with PasswordDigest

By Oracle documentation when you set the "process ws-security header" in security section of a proxy service, the proxy service act as an active intermediary and consume the ws-security header received in inbound messages. This feature works fine when you call the proxy service using WS-Security Username Token Profile PasswordText, but when you send Username Token with PasswordDigest I got the following error: +"weblogic.xml.crypto.wss.WSSecurityException: Unable to validate identity assertions"+
I am using SoapUi to call the proxy with passwordDigest, WSS-Password Type option set to PasswordDigest.
Proxy configured with:
General tab -> WSDL based proxy service, this wsdl doesn't have ws-policy definitions inside.

HTTP Transport tab -> HTTPS Required = No / Authentication = Basic

Yes, but the flag "Process WS-Security header" needs to be set to 'No' and I included a delete node to remove the wsse:Security element from header. Attaching Auth.xml predefined policy to my request operation, causes OSB to include the policy directive in my WSDL, but the PasswordText(see below).
In Oracle security guide we have steps to configure PasswordDigest in the Oracle Service Bus Security Configuration using the WLS Console http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E13159_01/osb/docs10gr3/security/model.html#wp1062542
My doubt is: Is this a bug? "Process WS-Security header" flag is supposed to work with PasswordDigest?

Oracle 10g Release 2 for Windows not working

NB250-10G - left touchpad button does not work

I have a NB250 10G that until a couple of days ago had worked perfectly.
However, I then found that I could not operate the netbook with the touchpad.
However, all works fine with my USB plug-in mouse.
Everything seemed to be going haywire with the touch pad, but I now know what is wrong.
The right-hand touch-pad button works fine, but the left-hand button is producing the same result as the right-hand one. In other words, I have no working left-hand button - I can't click to open any icons, I can't close down - all that happens is that I get a mini-menu appearing just as with the right-hand button.
An online note to Toshiba has so far not been answered.

Thanks for your suggestion. Have been into the control panel and changed the touchpad keys from right-hander use to left-hander, applied change - No result. Then back to right-hander set up again - still both keys give the same results, ie a normal right-hand key result. But thanks for the help. You also suggest re-installing the mouse driver. 10g Host command imp.exe not working

Hi,
Just created a relatively simple form that uses host command.
I create a sql script using text_io to create a new user.
I then use host to run that script on the app server.
All this works fine.
Then i use host command to try and import into the db. This is when it does nothing.
I have cut it down to bear bones and a button with the command:
host('D:\oracle\database\BIN\imp.exe LOG=D:\test.log');This doesnt even create the log "test.log"
If i copy and paste this into the run box on the app server the log is created?
Any ideas?

What is import/export and why does one need it?
Oracle's export (exp) and import (imp) utilities are used to perform logical database backup and recovery. When exporting, database objects are dumped to a binary file which can then be imported into another Oracle database.
These utilities can be used to move data between different machines, databases or schema. However, as they use a proprietary binary file format, they can only be used between Oracle databases. One cannot export data and expect to import it into a non-Oracle database.
Various parameters are available to control what objects are exported or imported. To get a list of available parameters, run the exp or imp utilities with the help=yes parameter.
The export/import utilities are commonly used to perform the following tasks:
Backup and recovery (small databases only, say < +50GB, if bigger, use RMAN instead)
Move data between Oracle databases on different platforms (for example from Solaris to Windows)
Reorganization of data/ eliminate database fragmentation (export, drop and re-import tables)
Upgrade databases from extremely old versions of Oracle (when in-place upgrades are not supported by the Database Upgrade Assistant any more)
Detect database corruption. Ensure that all the data can be read
Transporting tablespaces between databases
Etc.
From Oracle 10g, users can choose between using the old imp/exp utilities, or the newly introduced Datapump utilities, called expdp and impdp. These new utilities introduce much needed performance improvements, network based exports and imports, etc.
NOTE: It is generally advised not to use exports as the only means of backing-up a database. Physical backup methods (for example, when you use RMAN) are normally much quicker and supports point in time based recovery (apply archivelogs after recovering a database). Also, exp/imp is not practical for large database environments.

Look for the "imp" and "exp" executables in your $ORACLE_HOME/bin directory. One can run them interactively, using command line parameters, or using parameter files. Look at the imp/exp parameters before starting. These parameters can be listed by executing the following commands: "exp help=yes" or "imp help=yes".
The following examples demonstrate how the imp/exp utilities can be used:

From Oracle 8i one can use the QUERY= export parameter to selectively unload a subset of the data from a table. You may need to escape special chars on the command line, for example: query=\"where deptno=10\". Look at these examples:

Import Profile Rules of 7.5.1 to 10g 10.1.3.5 not working (10.1.3.3 works)

I am facing a weired issue and have no clue whats going on really need some help.
I have 2 10gR3 servers installed I am trying to migrate the Configuration
Migration data from Stellent 7.5.1 on both. There is a configuration data for
Content Profile Rules when I migrate on one of the 10gR3 it shows me there are
41 items and it imports them fine. When I do the same thing on the other server
it shows me zero items. I am using the same bundle on both but one server
picks-up the content profiles and he other does not so I basically went ahead
and created the rules manually. But now I am not sure when I migrate the folders
and content will it cause any issues.
The only difference in 2 servers is one is 10.1.3.3 and all works fine on this
and the other is 10.1.3.5 and thats where I have issues. I did look a the logs
but didnot find anything.
Also when I try to import the any other bundle again and select force ovewrite
all works fine on 10.1.3.3 but on 10.1.3.5 it works only first time and anytime
after if I try to import and select overwrite it just keeps complaining about
fhda files not found etc.
Then I thought I may have messedup somewhere so for testing purpose I installed
10gR3 on my laptop and upgraded to 10.1.3.5 and the same behavior as longas it
is 10.1.3.3 itworks but not on 10.1.3.5.
Anyone else noticed this behavior will appreciate for any help.

Event ID 8313 : Endpoint failure Search not working

We have created a multi-server farm consist of 2 app servers dedicated for Search Service, in which all search components are running (except admin only in one server).
However we are getting error when do a search from search center or if you click on "Setup My Sites" from User Profile Application. I have checked the Event viewer, returns the error given below,

Based on the error message, it may be caused by the misconfiguration of the service application.
I recommend to re-create the service applications which are affected and then compare the results.

OSB: Invoking multiple endpoint URIs or business service at same time

Hi All,
I want to route the request to two end point URIs or business services using OSB.
Say for example, I have a BPEL which is deployed in two servers. Using this solution I have to invoke the deployed service in both servers as soon as I receive input.

yes you can.
1. place URIs in a xml. Save XML as a xquery resource say URICollection.xquery.
2. assign this URICollection.xquery to a variable say URICollectionVariable.
3. extract desired URIs using a xquery from URICollectionVariable. Two URIs can be stored inside one parent element, which can be output as result.
4. replace business service URI with desired URI (from result) using "Routing options".
To propagate request to two different locations, you need to use "for each" action. Run the "for loop" exactly two times, write logic for above item no.4- inside the for loop action.

Offline Help via F1 not working despite valid settings

I recently installed CS6 Design & Web Premium on a Windows 8 system, after which all updates were installed.
I opened Adobe Help Manager and changed "Display Local Help content only" to "Yes" in the General Settings. Over night the local content section downloaded all the PDFs so now when I'm in Help Manager I can open any PDF listed as "Current" in the "Status" column. Acrobat X Pro is the default PDF viewer so PDFs open in it.
But when I press the F1 key in Photoshop, Illustrator, etc., I get an error message: "Online Help could not be displayed because you are not connected to the Internet."
I am connected to the Internet. Moreover, if I change "Display Local Help content only" to "No", F1 will open the usual online help in the browser. But I don't want that; I want F1 to open the appropriate PDF, which ostensibly is what Adobe Help Manager is supposed to make happen.
Adobe chat and phone support were clueless about this issue. Phone support tried to maintain this is happening because my PC is connected to a LAN and "we do not support network issues"..., and chat finally said to call the 800 support number after several attempts to get the tech to understand the above problem description.
If F1 opens web-based help when pressed while "Display Local Help content only" is set to "No", then F1 should open the appropriate Help PDF when pressed while "Display Local Help content only" is set to "Yes", right?!
Lastly, please note that I had this same problem in my previous installation under Windows 7 but I just put up with using online help. This time I'd like it to work properly.

A couple of extra tests:
In File > Song Settings > Metronome, check "Click while playing" to see if it makes any difference. Also, check "Metronome plays through built-in speakers".
If no go, reset them.
You do need to have a MIDI Click object in the environment. Open up Windows > Environment and look on the Clicks an Ports layer (to get there, click hold on the button just below the tool bar in the Environment window).
If you can't see a MIDI Click object, it's gone walkabout for some reason.
Create a new one using New > MIDI Metronome Click. You shouldn't need to change any of the settings. In fact, you could always delete the old one and create a new one - you can't do any damage deleting the old one so have a go.

Button's Destination URI is not working

Hi,
I have a requirement to keep a button(View Invoice) on a custom notification page. Whenever the button is clicked, it needs to open a new page(not OA.jsp) to show the invoice image.
I used Item Style as Button and in the controller, setDestination method was called to set the page URL. Button is coming on the page, but there is no link on it. I am not getting any java script error also.

Here you can try
1) Create a FUNCTION and wrp your region in that function with comple OA.jsp?/URL , you can take a look exisiting funcition. Lets say the function name is FUNCTION_NAME
2) Set the button type to submit button.
3) In the button property, set ActionType to "fireAction" and Event to "Myevent"
Now in the processFormRequest() you can handle this event as show below

You can set retainAM paramter to true, so you prvious page information will be retain and you can go back to previous page using breadcrump. However it will not be a new page.

Reports 10g on Suse Linux is not working !!!

i have Oracle Developer Suite Installed on my pc (windows) , and Application server 10.1.2.0.2 (Linux Suse 9.3 SP3) , iam trying to call a report from my browser (IE 6) from my local OC4J it works fine , but when i tried to do the same thing on Linux it fails and tells me that page can't be display !!!! , i checked every thing the port the server name , notice that i checked the Reports Services on the AS using (http://server:port/reports/rwservlet) and it works fine !!! , Thanks in advance

http://server:port/reports/rwservlet/showjobs?server=<reports server name>
You should get a list of jobs, and failed jobs have a red X as Job status : if you click there you should see error details.
