Osb 10gR3 - Active Intermediary proxy with custom WS-Policy files
I'm setting up an Active Intermediary proxy, and the Security option on the proxy to "Process WS-Security header" is only usable when Custom Policy Bindings are assigned to the proxy. But I don't want to use the default Oracle policies.
The "Select WS-Policy" popup within OSB only shows entries under the Predefined Policy tab. Yet I have custom WS-Policy files which have been imported into OSB.
So what's the trick?

Below are the steps followed
- OSB Proxy service has 'oracle/wss_username_token_service_policy' attached to it.
- Iam invoking this from BPEL. BPEL process has 'oracle/wss_username_token_client_policy' attached.
- I can invoke the osb proxy from bpel by passing credentials - No Issues.
Now I need to put some authorization restriction to the proxy service, so only specific users can access that.
-I used Role=Admin as a policy condition restriction under security in Proxy service.
-Then I went to proxy test console and I added the 'oracle/wss_username_token_client_policy' credentials and weblogic/xxxxx at Transport section and I was able to invoke the process. Here weblogic has a Admin Role.
-I cannot invoke the same proxy service from BPEL in Jdeveloper now.
All Iam trying to do is to protect my proxy by authrorization policy.

Custom WS-Policy Files in Console Service Endpoint Polices List

Not sure which WLS newsgroup for this so here goes.
I want to assign custom WS-Policy files to a web service via the console (i.e. post-deployment).
By default, the Service Endpoint Policies list only shows a small subset of default policy files within weblogic.jar and none of the Wssp1.2-* policy files. (i.e. only the proprietary WLS 9.0 WS-Policy files)
Is this correct behaviour? I want to experiment with policies based on the current WS Security Policy Standard without hard-coding the names of files into the service.
Is there a way to make these other supplied WSSecurityPolicy 1.2 policies appear in the list?

Calling Web Service Proxy with Custom java Object as parameter
I created a web service proxy from WSDL URL using JDeveloper 11g(.5 version)
I need to call a webservice method which takes custom Java Object( Ex: ABC.java) as Input parameter. It creates the XSD java (ABC.java) file for that.

ABC.java has a property of type java.util.Set of a custom Java Object (Set<XYZ.class>)
It doesn't create xsd file for XYZ.java.

Please help me.The passing of Java objects in and out of a web service is NOT supported. variables must be xml documents defined by a XML schema. In my opinion, missing Java object and WSDL is not a good idea. -Edwin

The jar file is in the user_projects/domains/mydomain/lib directory.
Attaching the policy to BPEL services has no issue and the policy is invoked successfully.
I am unable to determine why the OSB would behave differently in this regard, or what I need to configure differently in order to have it found by the class loaders for the OSB.
Any help or suggestions appreciated.

The jar file has the necessary policy_config.xml file and the META-INF/mylabel/mypolicy.xml files in situ. As I said, it is working in the soa_server but not the OSB.Have you restarted servers after putting jar in $Domain_Home/lib directory? Also try after explicitly adding this jar in classpath by editing server startup script (startManagedWeblogic.cmd or .sh) or in domain env setting script (setDonainEnv.cmd or .sh) and restarting the servers.

OSB 10.3 and custom signing policy
Good morning.
I had several problems receiving signed messages from a customer. We have an active intermediary proxy, with a custom policy based on "Sign.xml" to require signing of message body.
But out customer is signing using a third-party solution, so our proxy can't validate his message. We are trying to create a custom policy without "bea" namespaces, that is:

[OSB] Calling a secured proxy from another secured proxy
Hi,
I would like to call a secured proxy from another secured proxy. However, the call fails.
I'm making a call from a Java stand alone Web Service client. The client uses policy "oracle/wss11_message_protection_client_policy".
The call is made to a proxy secured with a "oracle/wss11_x509_token_with_message_protection_service_policy". The secured proxy routes to a non secured proxy, which does not process WSS Security Header. The non-secured proxy then routes to a non-secured business service. The call is a success.
Then I add a policy to the second proxy, say "oracle/log_policy". Also I set the value of "Process WS-Security Header" to yes. The call fails.
I'm getting
java.lang.NullPointerException
at oracle.wsm.agent.handler.WSMEngineInvoker.createWsmMessageContextFromInvokerContext(WSMEngineInvoker.java:733)
in the osb logs.
I have tried adding an empty WSS Security Header in the Soa headers before calling the second proxy. It didn't change anything.
Do you have any ideas?
I have also came up with a super simplified sitution when this error comes up. This happens when I'm calling a pass through proxy (no policy, process WSS security header set to no). Then when this proxy calls a secured proxy with "oracle/log_policy", the call results in this error. Why??

OSB 10gR3 - Starting Managed server on remote machine
I have 2 Windows 2003 Enterprise machines.
I have OSB 10gR3 installed on both with Node Manager running on default port, on both.
I create the servicebustutorial domain and start the admin server on the first machine.
On the second machine, I use the WLST to

Now, I don't know if this is the correct thing to do.
Back on the first machine, I create a new machine to represent the second Windows box.
I can see the node manager on the second machine using the machine monitoring page.
I then create a new server that is assigned to the new machine.
I can attempt to start the new server on the second machine.
The Server directory appears in the servers directory on the second windows box.
Log files appear on the second box but the config.xml is not there, and thus, the server fails to start.
I would have thought that the server config would have propogated from the admin server, is this a wrong assumption?
What am I doing wrong?

I login as a local administrator on the machine that WebLogic runs. All operations are performed using that login (starting admin server, starting node manager).
I changed permissions on C:\BEA, all the way down, localadmin group has full control, everywhere.
I tried changing nodemanager C:\bea\wlserver_10.3\common\nodemanager\nodemanager.properties LogLevel to DEBUG but then NodeManager refuses to start, so I returned it back to INFO.
I set debug on the Managed Server I am trying to setup, as you suggested.
I even updated the NodeManager and Server boot.properties files to be cleartext and Deleted the LDAP directory within the Managed Server (as I assume it's re-created if it does not exist)

I am trying to do a POC of our use-case and wanted to use the Dynamic Routing feature of OSB 10gR3 -
- Create a Proxy which will accept service_id, version, operation and generic input request
- Proxy should do lookup in the Routing Table (XQuery Resource) and based on the service_id as key will provide the service endpoint as -

Questions -
Is this possible in OSB 10gR3? What service type (WSDL, AnySOAP, AnyXML, messaging) should the generic proxy be? Any alternative to this approach.
So far, I have used ALSB/OSB for simple use-cases and this is more complex so I am seeking information and feedback on this use-case and how to move forward with this use-case.

I started this use-case on baby-steps and I tried use the dynamic routing to call the operation on a proxy services
Generic Proxy (using dynamic routing) -----> Proxy ---> Business <----WSDL (Target Service)
Here are the steps in my code -
(1) Created the Proxy ---> Business <----WSDL (Target Service) and tested using the test console.. all works fine.
(2) Created Generic proxy (Messaging Type with xml as input) and I am passing the xml as

<ServiceId>TestWS</ServiceId>
<OperationName>getStatus</OperationName>
</ServiceRequest>
(3) Created the pipeline pair and in the request pipeline added the stage and -
- assign the Routing Table (as XQuery Resource) to the $routingtable varible
(Routing Table XML looks like - <routing><row><logical>TestWS</logical><physical>/TestSB/TestPS_1</physical></row></routing>)
- assign the XQuery expression

OSB 10gR3 - Process WS-Security flag not working with PasswordDigest

By Oracle documentation when you set the "process ws-security header" in security section of a proxy service, the proxy service act as an active intermediary and consume the ws-security header received in inbound messages. This feature works fine when you call the proxy service using WS-Security Username Token Profile PasswordText, but when you send Username Token with PasswordDigest I got the following error: +"weblogic.xml.crypto.wss.WSSecurityException: Unable to validate identity assertions"+
I am using SoapUi to call the proxy with passwordDigest, WSS-Password Type option set to PasswordDigest.
Proxy configured with:
General tab -> WSDL based proxy service, this wsdl doesn't have ws-policy definitions inside.

HTTP Transport tab -> HTTPS Required = No / Authentication = Basic

Yes, but the flag "Process WS-Security header" needs to be set to 'No' and I included a delete node to remove the wsse:Security element from header. Attaching Auth.xml predefined policy to my request operation, causes OSB to include the policy directive in my WSDL, but the PasswordText(see below).
In Oracle security guide we have steps to configure PasswordDigest in the Oracle Service Bus Security Configuration using the WLS Console http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E13159_01/osb/docs10gr3/security/model.html#wp1062542

Problems with Custom Assertions in OSB with OWSM
Hi all, I try to get the custom assertion example from the documentation to work:
I have used the example about ValidateIpAssertions, and I have attached to a proxy service. I can debug it with eclipse, but I see that it's not running ok. I realize that the 'context message' is not informed in correct way in my debug tool.
I’m using OSB 11g Patch Set 2 with OWSM extension and Enterprise Console (SOA Suite is not installed). The admin server and managed server are running in the same domain (only one server).
Any suggestion?I want to say that when I do a request trough a soapUi by example, the method getremoteAddr by example is null. one of the things more importants to me is to get the soap message. With version 10 I used the next expression with steps in order to get the message.

Java client for OSB proxy with JMS Transport
Hi,
I am trying to call OSB proxy with JMS Transport. I am generating the client through ant task clientgen and following this article

The osb proxy is req-response and is simply routing to BS which return a string value.
When I run my client, it get stuck and does not return at all. Has any one trying java client in such scenario?
What I may be missing?

Transport is is picked by the client from wsdl.
As far as the documentation of client generation is there, there is no change.
But meanwhile I have started working on sending the message directly to queue. JMSProxy is getting called. May be I will first run the proxy this way and then try troubleshooting the java client.

Call AppleCare and give them the serial number. They should be able to tell you if it's carrier locked in their database. If it is, the only hope of it ever working again would be to get the original carrier to authorize unlocking it. If they won't, it's a brick. Even if they do, there's a chance it may never activate properly again because of the hack. -
OSB: Publish activity - reply with Success

From my proxy service I am publishing a message into a JMS queue(through a BusinessService). I have used a publish activity in the proxy service with QoS=Exactly Once. Currently i am able to send messages to the queue but, in the proxy response i am getting the whole payload which is published to the queue but i want only:
<http:http-response-code>200</http:http-response-code>, in the proxy result.
In the response pipeline i have tried the following two ways:
1. Insert <http:http-response-code>200</http:http-response-code> as first child of ./ctx:transport/ctx:response in variable Inbound.
2. Added a 'Reply' activity as 'Reply with Success'
But, they are not fetching me the expected result. Still i am getting the whole payload in the proxy result.
Kindly let me know how to achieve the same.

Replace node contents [leave it empty] in variable [body] with expression [ <http:http-response-code>200</http:http-response-code>]

IPhoto not opening after upgrade to OSX10.6.8 intel iMac

JavaDoc: inherit method comment from jdk classes?
My goal is to let custom classes inherit method comments from overridden methods of jdk classes. From the doctool documentation, I would assume that the way to go is to set the path to the jdk sources in the -sourcepath option. My problem is that thi
