OSB called stateful service & extracting Set-Cookie Transport header

I need to call a Stateful Web service which returns a JSessionId (Set-Cookie) which I need to use to subsequent service calls. In my message flow, a service callout calls a web service which returns a JSessionId which is part of the Transport Header. I need to extract this value into a variable and use it to call a couple of other web service calls using Service callouts. I have tried numerous things listed below but failed
1) In the service callout Response actions, I have added a Transport header to capture this into a variable but in vain
2) Added a Transport header in the Response action on the main pipeline
3) Used Inbound variable to extract however it turns up empty.
any useful ideas would be appreciated. Thanks

When you call the external service it returns a SessionID in the header?
If that is the case then test the service from sbconsole debug console and in the invocation trace check the value of $inbound variable within the context of service callout and check if external service has actually added a transport header for session ID.

• OSB Calling Async Service

hi all,
We have a requirement to call an external async service from OSB. Can anyone please point to the recommended approach.
I have looked at the below example, but this talks about 'soa-transport', where as we are more interested in 'http' transport as this is an external web service. Can we follow the same approach for our use-case as well?
http://www.xenta.nl/blog/2010/03/23/oracle-service-bus-invoke-asynchronous-webservices/
We are using FMW PS4 throughout.

Krishna,
You are referring to the right link - http://www.xenta.nl/blog/2010/03/23/oracle-service-bus-invoke-asynchronous-webservices/
You may implement async WS call in OSB by following the approach mentioned here.

• Call http service extract value from person/group field

Hi
I have a list that has people or group field.
When Runing my WF I want to get in to a variable the members of the group that is in people or group field.
I would like to extract members from group using call http action.
How can i start?
which URL should i put in "Enter the HTTP service URL"?
pleas your help.

Hi,
You can use the following URL to extract the members from group
http://siteurl/_api/Web/SiteGroups/getbyname('groupname')/users
You can create a workflow variable and extract the value from the people or group field
Build the URL using as follows
[%Workflow Context:Current Site URL%]/_api/Web/SiteGroups/getbyname([%Variable: GroupName%])/Users
For more information how to use the Web Service in workflow use the following article.

• [OSB] - Calling REST Service - POST action

Hi,
I have a requirement to invoke a REST full service to pass on the processed XML message. I know OSB supports both calls via Proxy and Business services. I have tested it with HTTP and it works. However, my server side REST service is to be invoked/called over HTTPS.
Request you to please let me know what I need to look for while implementing this requirement. Any help in this case will be appreciated. Thanks.

• OSB question : passing a user defined transport header to a proxy service

Hi All,
I have a proxy service that calls another proxy service. The protocol for the "called proxy service" is set to local. The calling proxy service has a "transport header" action to add a user defined header to the outbound request.
I log the outbound request in the calling proxy service before publishing/calling the other proxy service. It does have header set as expected. But the called proxy service does not get this header.
As a note in the "transport" tab "get all headers" is set to true.

We are using OSB 11g for sending message to external client.
we are setting Headers "JMSType" in set Transport Header. but Client is not able to recieve the JMSType header at there side.
we have read many forums for the same and turned on

then I put one publish action and keep my "Set Transport Header" inside that. still client is not able to find the same

• VO object error while calling Web Service.

Hi,
I created one page with 5 text field and one choice list with three buttons.
Functionality is :
1. As page loads I am calling Web Service to set the values in fields.
2. When user enters new values or changed the old values and click on "Save" button, again web service is called to store that values.
Problem is when changing message choice value. For message choice I created one VO for lookup_code and meaning.
When I click on "Save" Button it showing me error

• IE not set cookie for downloaded js file.Why?

I'm trying to download a js file from a different domain like main page is from www.abc.com but js file is from www.def.com. www.def.com sets a cookie . All major browsers get the cookie and sends it in the other requests to www.def.com.But
IE sends this cookie to www.abc.com. Cookie has also domain field set www.def.com. Any possible solution?

How, specifically, is the cookie set?
When you use document.cookie to set a cookie, ALL BROWSERS set the cookie in the domain in which the script runs (e.g. the page that includes it). NO BROWSERS set the cookie in the domain from which the script downloaded.
When you use a SET-COOKIE response header to set a cookie, MOST browsers set the cookie in the domain from which the download occurs. Internet Explorer will IGNORE that cookie (not setting it anywhere) unless a P3P statement is supplied. See
http://blogs.msdn.com/b/ieinternals/archive/2013/09/17/simple-introduction-to-p3p-cookie-blocking-frame.aspx

• OSB set cookie with Transport Header action

I am trying to set a cookie using the Transport Header action in the OSB. The thing is that it seems to need some special format?
When I trying to set a simple cookie with params like: Defined:http,cookie with value xs:string('test') it returns a General runtime error: error: Unexpected element: CDATA.
I tried looking for an example of someone setting a cookie using this but I can't find anything!
Can anyone enlighten me on how this functionality works?
Best regards!

I'm still confused. The Transport Header seem to want a cookie-values xml so I created a variable which holds my cookie like this:
<http:cookie-values xmlns:http="http://www.bea.com/wli/sb/transports/http">
<http:value>MyCookie=%7BBC09751C%2D1F79%2D45A7%2DBC8E%2D3865D71A1888%7D</http:value>
</http:cookie-values>If I insert my variable into the header, the callout works but when I look in the outbound it seems to flatten the xml into this:
<tran:headers       xsi:type="http:HttpRequestHeaders" xmlns:tran="http://www.bea.com/wli/sb/transports">
<tran:user-header       name="Cookie" value="MyCookie=%7BBC09751C%2D1F79%2D45A7%2DBC8E%2D3865D71A1888%7D"/>
<http:Content-Type>
application/soap+xml; action="http://www.mycomp.com/Login"
</http:Content-Type>
<http:Cookie>
<http:cookie-values xmlns:http="http://www.bea.com/wli/sb/transports/http">
<http:value>MyCookie=%7BBC09751C%2D1F79%2D45A7%2DBC8E%2D3865D71A1888%7D</http:value>
</http:cookie-values>
</http:Cookie>
</tran:headers>Only the http:cookie-values tag is colored black so i suspect there is a CDATA in front of it of some sort but it looks like it adds a user-header with the same value which looks correct!
Can anyone tell me how this works?

• Need help calling stateful web service from BPEL 10.1.3.1

I found the tutorial located at http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/ias/bpel/htdocs/callingstatefulwsfrombpel.html which talks about how to call a stateful web service, it is also mentioned on Clemens Utschig's SOA blog.
The problem is that the code for the handlers will not compile as given under 10.1.3.1 -- it seems that the method signature for the invoke method has changed in the interface com.collaxa.cube.ws.HeaderHandler
Has anyone gotten this to work in 10.1.3.1 or can anyone give me a tip on how to call a stateful web service in a different manner from BPEL?
Thanks!

• OSB - Setting http Authorization header with Proxy Service

Hi,
I have the following scenario:
PS1 -> PS2 -> BS (with a SA configured to pass through)
I need to set the Authorization http header based on some information in payload, so:
PS1 receives the payload and route to PS2, where username/password are extracted and using a java call out the base64 hash is generated.
In the PS2 route i'm trying to set the Authorization header using the set Transport Headers option.
When i do a request to test this operation, osb show me a beautiful CredentialNotFound exception.
I have tryied to set the Authorization header in the route on the PS1, without success.
Someone can help me ?

I can't set the Proxy Service to do the authentication. I will try to explain better:
I have a Business Service which have a Service Account associated to pass through the Authorization header to the service provider do the validation.
I front of this business service i have a Proxy Service which route the requests to the BS.
All partners send this Authorization header, but now, i have one that will not send no matter what.
The username and passwrod will come into the payload (and will be variable).
In some point before the proccess i need to extract the information from payload and set the Authorization header.
Ty for you time.

• How to call business service from xquery transformation in OSB ??

Hi All,
How to call business service from xquery transformation in OSB ??
I need to assign the response variable of Business Service to a target element in XQuery Transformation Mapper file.
It's urgent.
Regards,
Jyoti Nayak

Transformation is to mapping the source and target of 2 different schemas.
In your case you should have a XQuery transformation between, your Business Service output schema and the target schema.
Thanks,
Vijay

• OSB call multiple Business Services and combine the responses into one

Dear All,
I am new to OSB and I have a use case that I need to solve. I have 3 web services and I imported their WSDLs into OSB and created 3 Business Services that goes with each WSDL. The scenario is like this.
Business Service 1: takes an input value as [Region] and returns a list of employee names.
Business Service 2: takes the list of employee names and returns the list of employee names with their job profile
Business Service 3: takes the list of employee names with their job profile and returns their contact information.
I need to return the result of Business Service 3 to the consumer. The consumer basically need to call the Proxy service with [Region] as the input value and the result should be the output of above Business service 3.
As I mentioned, I have WSDL for all the 3 Business Services, but, I do not have the WSDL for the Proxy Service. The Business Service WSDLs are all different and they do not match.
My question is it possible to achieve the above result without having a concrete WSDL for Proxy Service? Also, how can I go about solving this use case. I have gone through some articles that talk about Split-Join, and am really lost.
I really appreciate your kind reply on this.
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Syama

You have multiple options:
1. Create a WSDL which has input similar to input of WS1 (only Region as input) and an output similar to output of WS3.
Create Proxy Service based on this WSDL. Then call all the thee business services one after the other and doing transformations/assigns as needed after each call. Finally map the result of BS3 to the similar output of your new WSDL on which the Proxy service is based.
2. Create an Any XML type of web service. Create a schema which has two elements, one for input and one for output. Input containing only Region and output containing all the details. All consumers need to send request according to input defined in schema and expect output defined in schema. Its similar to creating the WSDL but can be used in case your consumer do not want to call a Web Service but want to call an XML API over HTTP. Rest will be same as option 1.
Split join is needed to make calls in parallel, it wont be usable in your use case unless you expect a list og regions in the same request for each of which you need to gather same information by calling three services.

• Add cookie to HTTP request header when calling web service

I'm trying to call web service using JDeveloper 11g. I successfully generated web service proxy from WSDL document. I can successfully call this particular web service's method "login" which returns "session_id", which then needs to be inserted as a cookie in the HTTP request header in later calls to other methods. This is how the HTTP request header should look like:
POST /webservice HTTP/1.1
Host: registrar.carnet.hr
Connection: Keep-Alive
User-Agent: .hr domene
Content-Type: text/xml; charset=utf-8
SOAPAction: "https://registrar.carnet.hr/webservice#get_domain_name"
Content-Length: 532
Cookie: session_id=f3po0ba01a47gd64792151ee43a25765;
How can this be accomplished? There is not much code that I wrote, everything is generated by JDeveloper's wizard...
public static void main(String[] args) {
try {
RegistrarServicePortPortClient client =
new RegistrarServicePortPortClient();
client.setPortCredentialProviderList();
// add your code here
String login;
login = client.login("username", "password");
System.out.println(login);
String myCookie = "session_id="+login;
System.out.println(myCookie);
*// what can be done to add myCookie to the HTTP request header?*
} catch (Exception ex) {
ex.printStackTrace();
Thanks in advance,
Bruno

Below note gives the high level steps to be performed for implementing different security requirements with OSB
OSB - Proxy Service HTTPS one way
Configure Identity & Trust Keystore
OSB - Proxy Service HTTPS 2 way
Configure Identity Assertion Provider to support X509
Configure user mapper class for default identity assertion provider
Change 2 way Client Cert behaviour from default
('Client Certificate Not requested”) to “Client Certificate requested but not enforced”
OSB - Business Service HTTPS one way
Add root & intermediate CA certificates of the server to the trust keystore
OSB - Business Service HTTPS 2 way
Add root & intermediate CA certificates of the server to the trust keystore
Configure PKI Credential Provider containing the client certificate
Configure a Service Key provider with SSL Client Authentication key
Associate the service key provider to the proxy service which invokes the business service
OSB - Proxy Service WS-Security User Name Token
Configure Auth.xml or custom username token WS-Security Policy
OSB - Proxy Service WS-Security X509 Token
Configure Auth.xml and Sign.xml Policy
Change UseX509ForIdentity attribute in domain → WS Security → Inbound Mbean Token handlers Page to true
Ensure Certificate passed by client is present in certificate registry or the root CA in trust keystore depending upon weblogic certification path provider configuration
Configure Identity Assertion Provider and Username mapper class.
OSB - Business Service WS-Security User Name Token
Configure Auth or custom username token WS-Security Policy
Configure Service account for username provider
OSB - Business Service WS-Security X509 Token
Configure Sign.xml and Auth.xml policy ( or custom signing and username token policies) in the business service
Configure a PKI credential provider and service key provider containing the certificate to be used for signing and authentication
Associate the service key provider to the proxy service which invokes the business service.
*OSB - Proxy Service Digital Signature [ Request Only]*
Configure Sign.xml or a custom signing policy to the proxy service
Ensure Certificate passed by client is present in certificate registry or the root CA in trust keystore depending upon weblogic certification path provider configuration
*OSB – Business Service Digital Signature [ Request Only]*
Configure Sign.xml policy ( or custom signing policy) in the business service
Configure a PKI credential provider and service key provider containing the certificate to be used for signing
Associate the service key provider to the proxy service which invokes the business service.

• Calling a service via url when it has result set INPUT

So i am trying to call this service via a javascript
# Add users
@Properties LocalData
IdcService=ADD_USER
dName=jsmith
dUserAuthType=Local
dFullName=Jennifer Smith
dPassword=password
dEmail=[email protected]
@end
@ResultSet UserAttribInfo
2
dUserName
AttributeInfo
jsmith
role,contributor,15
@end
<<EOD>>
so i make a call using
/idc/?IdcService=ADD_USER&dName=jsmith&dUserAuthType=Local&dFullName=Jennifer Smith&dPassword=password&dEmail=[email protected]
but how to get the result set UserAttribInfo added to the end of this

Jason,
Thanks for the good info. Based on your technique I was able to figure out how to do a pure json post of a result set. You just need to send a Content-Type of text/json, set IsJson=1 and send the data encoded in the request body in the following format:
LocalData: {
dName: 'user',
dUserAuthType: 'Local'
ResultSets: {
UserAttribInfo: {
fields: ['dName', 'AttributeInfo'],
rows: [['user', 'role, guest, 15']]
}
