OSB, CSV, MFLBusiness Service, Data Mismatch Exception (OSB 11.1.1.6)

I am having a problem transforming a big CSV file.
The situation:
I am using the following setup: OSB 11.1.1.6, developing with Eclipse OEPE on Windows 7. The behaviour described below is the same on a Linux server running the same version OSB though.
My CSV source file has 162 columns and is mapped to a CSV file with 52 columns with some logic to exclude rows or transform values.
Right now my adapter looks like this:
MFL Proxy Service: FTP Pickup of CSV File
- 1 stage:
-- 1 Action: XQuery Transform the source MFL to the target MFL
- Route to MFL Business Service on SFTP protocol (to write to CSV file)
Right now the error I am getting is this one:

From what I understand, there is a value missing for CatalogVersion. However, this is static content in the XQuery, so it should always be filled. I have written the Body variable to disk during the various steps in the service, the XML which is written is valid and is not missing this node. It appears to me that OSB is discarding this node in the last step when the CSV file is being written.
The strange thing is that this error only occurs when I use a bigger file (say > 100kB). When using smaller files it works fine.
Tests done so far:
- Small file size (say less than 100 rows and smaller than 100kB), this is working fine
- Conversion of CSV to XML with MFL in the MFL Builder, it works fine (for small filesize)
- Conversion back to CSV from XML with MFL in the MFL Builder, it works fine (again, also only with smaller files)
- Change of streaming settings on the proxy service, no change in behaviour
- Change of Proxy Service and Business service to type File to make sure there is no latency interfering
The strange thing is that I have seen quite some posts on various blogs which explain a solution like this, appearently they are using bigger files (I've seen 150MB+ mentioned) so I am wondering what I am doing wrong..

A small addition to the above post;
I have changed the Business Service from SFTP to File and the adapter is working as it should. The exported CSV has all the rows and is written like it should.
Perhaps the combination of SFTP Business Service with a MFL type is causing this problem right now.
As a work around I am following this flow now:
1.) CSV on SFTP via MFL mapping -> OSB -> CSV to FILE via MFL Mapping
2.) FILE -> OSB -> SFTP
The second flow does not contain any logic, only moves the file to the SFTP server.
When I have time I will investigate further and post the results when I find a better solution..

  • Application Manager in partial service, date format exception

    Hi; I was pulling MIVR logs as I see the Application Manager is in partial service.  I see an exception of formating the date, but I'm not sure where to go to correct it or if that is even the right thing to focus on.  Kind of new to looking at these logs and they seem pretty daunting.  I took them righter after an Engine Restart, which usually fixes this partial service issue yet it still is quite large.
    Any ideas?

    Hi,
    The application manager in partial Service can be due to one of the following:
    1. An application is referencing a script that was deleted from the script management causing the application to be invalid.
    2. The script in itself is invalid.
    When we have a system with multiple applications, it becomes really hard to find out the culprit application without the logs.
    For this, the easiest way would be to login to Cisco Unified CCX Administration -- Tools -- Real Time Reporting.
    Click on First tab and go to Applications.
    It will show all the applications and then flag it as Valid -- True on the last column. If this is False, then we can proceed with checking that application.
    Note: RTR is a tool highly dependent on JAVA. Check the JAVA version on CCX compatibility matrix and use the same. Else use IE with compatibility mode turned on for viewing this tool,

  • Inserting to MS-Access -Data mismatch

    I am trying to insert records in to a MS-Access table. However i got a data mismatch exception and on figuring it out i realized there was a date field and i was populating it with string. hence i converted it in to a date and run the query again, however now, i am neither getting an exception nor is the table getting updated.
    The following is the code snippet where i get the data
    List <org.cuashi.wof.ws.nwis.ValueSingleVariable > ValueList = result.getTimeSeries().getValues().getValue();
    for (org.cuashi.wof.ws.nwis.ValueSingleVariable value : ValueList)
    System.out.format("%20s%10.4f",value.getDateTime().toString(),value.getValue());
    System.out.println();
    System.out.println("obtaining time series data");
    String dateTime = value.getDateTime().toString().replace('T',' ');
    //to convert string in to date
    SimpleDateFormat sdf = new SimpleDateFormat("yyyy-MM-dd HH:mm:ss");
    java.util.Date dt = sdf.parse(dateTime);

    String dateTime = value.getDateTime().toString().replace('T',' ');

    This pattern is what you've got? Sure?
    java.util.Date dt = sdf.parse(dateTime);
    sdf.applyPattern("yyyy-MM-dd HH:mm:ss");

  • Web Service Data Control XMLDOMException exception

    This issue is produced when we have Web Service Data Control (D.C.) used as reference data provider and is used as List Data Source in selectOneChoice. This happens only when we have the data control created directly from the WSDL. If we create a WS Proxy first and then we create a D.C. from the proxy interface, we don't have this issue. How can we use the D.C. directly without creating a WS proxy ?

    Luis,
    lets cut this down to the most simplest testcase. You have a Web Service that allows an input argument to be null. The application based on the WSDC has a textfield and a button. The error shows if the button is pressed without you adding a value to the textfield.
    My questions are:
    - is my understanding correct ?
    - Is the WebServices created in JDeveloper 11 as well?
    - If it is created in JDeveloper 11, is it a JAX-WS Web Services, or a RPC style service ?

  • Url service data control - problem while  POSTing to a restful webservice

    Hi,
    I am trying to call a restful webservice to add a new employee .I have created the url service data control. The service method consumes XML.
    When i am creating the url service datacontrol I selected the http method as POST and giving the servicepath and servicename as the source. After providing the xsd's path and all , when I test the url connection, I am getting the following error message:
    URL Test: Received Error: Method Not Allowed
    This might be because the clicking of the test url button is sending the get request, but the actual method is POST.
    Now under the data controls navigator, If i view the newly created data control, i could see the loadData(Object) method which i assume is for retrieving the data from the service. But since i have mentioned the method as POST, why such a method is created? Also if its there, can I use the same for insert and update? I have used this loadData (Object) method to create a button which calls the webservice upon click. Under the data control property inspector, i changed the supportsupdate attribute's value to true. But when i am trying to save the employee from the jspx page, I am getting the following message in the integrated weblogic's log
    Couldn't get access to the data source. Cause Unsupported Media Type exception in rest service
    And on the server side I am getting the following error message:
    No message body reader has been found for request class Employee, ContentType application/octet-stream.
    I think the request is not going as XML. But while creating the datacontrol i have specified the xsd document for the iput xml request. Does ADF automatically creates the XML from the input parametres? If it does not, then what could be done to achieve that? The default actionListener of the submit button is #{bindings.loadData.execute}. Do i have to override it to send the XML request? Or have I missed anything in trying to achieve what i intend?
    I had refered this link for reference :

    Hi Frank,
    I had specified the HTTP method as POST as well as PUT. But the same error is appearing in the both the cases.
    URL Test: Received Error: Method Not Allowed
    And when I am clicking on the 'Test URL Connection' , I can't see any option of selecting the HTTP method. This option only appears in the step 2 of creating the URL service data control where we mention the URL endpoint and the source.
    What could be the reason for the error.

  • How to Include Warnings/Error messages in Return Service Data Object

    Hello All,
    I am using Jdeveloper 11.1.1.3.0, ADF BC. and want to publish Service-Enabled application modules, specifically I want to publish a custome method in the application module as a web service.
    While going through Enable support for Service Interface wizard as explained in developer guide, in step 7 I read this
    >
    7. To expose service information messages such as warnings and exceptions for a custom method or warnings for process operation methods, select Include Warnings in Return Service Data Object. For example, you might want display an informational message when a method returns the total employee compensation and the total is outside of the desired range.
    If Include Warnings is not selected, no informational messages will be returned with the service response. This option is only enabled when the method does not return a view row or a list
    of view rows. When the method returns view rows, the underlying view object determines whether the method supports warnings, as described Section 11.2.4, "How to Service-Enable Individual View Objects." The informational messages (and warnings) are reported as part of the return object. JDeveloper generates appropriate wrappers as the return objects, and the wrappers contain the actual method return and the informational messages.
    >
    I am interested in this part: For example, you might want display an informational message when a method returns the total employee compensation and the total is outside of the desired range.
    To do this, I write a method in the application module
    public Number getEmpSal(Number empId){
            EmployeesViewImpl employeesView1 = this.getEmployeesView1();
            //this is the bind variable setter
            employeesView1.setEmpId(empId);
            employeesView1.executeQuery();
            EmployeesViewRowImpl first = (EmployeesViewRowImpl)employeesView1.first();
           return first!=null ? first.getSalary() : null;
    }and I selected the Include Warnings in Return Service Data Object check box. but how and where can I expose the error or warning message?
    Note:
    I tried to throw an exception in the method
    public Number getEmpSal(Number empId){
            EmployeesViewImpl employeesView1 = this.getEmployeesView1();
            //this is the bind variable setter
            employeesView1.setEmpId(empId);
            employeesView1.executeQuery();
            EmployeesViewRowImpl first = (EmployeesViewRowImpl)employeesView1.first();
            if(first!=null && (first.getSalary()!=null || first.getSalary().compareTo(1000)==1))
                throw new JboException("out of range salary");
             return first!=null ? first.getSalary() : null;
    }and when I test the web service for some employee I get this response:
    <env:Envelope xmlns:env="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/">
    <env:Header/>
         <env:Body>
              <env:Fault>
                   <faultcode>env:Server</faultcode>
                   <faultstring>out of range salary</faultstring>
                   <detail><tns:ServiceErrorMessage xmlns:tns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adf/svc/errors/" xmlns:xsi=      "http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"><tns:code/><tns:message>out of range  salary</tns:message><tns:severity>SEVERITY_ERROR</tns:severity><tns:exceptionClassName>oracle.jbo.JboException</tns:exceptionClassName></tns:ServiceErrorMessage>
                   </detail>
              </env:Fault>
         </env:Body>
    </env:Envelope>but is this the right approach or there is another place to show error/warning messages?

    This is fine if you raise exception from your code. It will be raised as a server fault only.

  • Need help in URL Service Data Control

    Hi Everyone,
    I'm working on JDev11gUp2, ADF-RC
    I am using URL Service Data Control to fetch data from CSV File and i got success but I need to know that is there any way to pass File Connection URL Dynamically at run time, As i know we have to provide URL string at design time, but i have multiple files to pass at run time , Then?
    And one more question that Once the data is uploaded into af:Table from my CSV file. then after Any data change in CSV file must reflect in af:table with that change like other iterator refresh functionality. but I'm not able to do that, Simple question is, How to Re fetch the data from CSV file at run time?
    Your answer would be really appreciated as it would really help me.
    Thanks
    Fizzz...

    Hi Fizz,
    Not sure of the answer to your specific question. A couple of thoughts, though:
    You could try putting some code in a backing bean action listener to get the data control from an iterator binding (where you have added an iterator binding to your page definition) and then using the debugger to inspect the runtime type of the data control returned - then look to see if that type has a setURL method.
    [url http://database.in2p3.fr/doc/oracle/Oracle_Application_Server_10_Release_3/web.1013/b25947/adv_data_controls005.htm]this link talks about creating your own data control type - where you could certainly expose a method to set a URL. More work, but you have complete control.
    Hope this at least gives you an idea or two.

  • Import CSV file: column count mismatch by always 1

    Hello,
    I am trying to import data from a CSV file into a HANA db table with an .hdbti file.
    I have a large structure of 332 fields in the table. When I activate the files to start the import, I always get the following message:
    CSV table column count mismatch. The CSV-file: Test.data:data.csv does not match to target table: Test.data::test. The number of columns (333) in csv record 1 is higher than the number of columns (332) in the table.
    But even if I delete the last column in the CSV file, the message stays the same. I also tried adding an additional field in the table on HANA, but then the column numbers in the error message just increase by 1. Then the message is: The number of columns (334) in csv record 1 is higher than the number of columns (333) in the table.
    So, it seems, whatever I do, the system thinks always that the csv file has one column too much.
    With another smaller structure of 5 fields, the import worked that way.
    Do you have an idea what the problem could be?
    Regards,
    Michael

    Hi Michael,
    It may be coz of delimiter problem or something. Can you paste the control file content here. So that i can check it out. Issue may be in your control file.
    Also if you can show the contents of the your *.err error log file, we can have a broader picture.
    Regards,

  • IDOC failed due to date mismatch

    Hi Experts,
    I am facing a problem in IDOC.
    I IDOC is sent through a one SAP to another system.
    In target system ,It was failed ,the reason being the date mismatch.
    When I check through WE02 ,it was failed becoz a TODATE and FROMDATE got wrong ,i.e it got swapped..
    So is there any way to process this error out IDOC?
    Is it possible to change the dates and then process it manually?
    Pls let me know as its on high priorty.
    Note : BOTH SAP system are Production .
    thanks in advance

    Hi Hemant,
    Please find the following steps to edit IDOC segment after you find the error using WE02.
    The example codes can be found in website
    http://www.sapgenie.com/sapedi/idoc_abap.htm
    STEP 1 - Open document to edit
    CALL FUNCTION 'EDI_DOCUMENT_OPEN_FOR_EDIT'
    EXPORTING
    document_number = t_docnum
    IMPORTING
    idoc_control = itab_edidc
    TABLES
    idoc_data = itab_edidd
    EXCEPTIONS
    document_foreign_lock = 1
    document_not_exist = 2
    document_not_open = 3
    status_is_unable_for_changing = 4
    OTHERS = 5.
    STEP 2 - Loop at itab_edidd and change data
    LOOP AT itab_edidd WHERE segnam = 'E1EDKA1'.
    e1edka1 = itab_edidd-sdata.
    IF e1edka1-parvw = 'LF'.
    e1edka1-partn = t_eikto.
    itab_edidd-sdata = e1edka1.
    MODIFY itab_edidd.
    EXIT.
    ENDIF.
    ENDLOOP.
    STEP 3 - Change data segments
    CALL FUNCTION 'EDI_CHANGE_DATA_SEGMENTS'
    TABLES
    idoc_changed_data_range = itab_edidd
    EXCEPTIONS
    idoc_not_open = 1
    data_record_not_exist = 2
    OTHERS = 3.
    STEP 3a - Change control record
    CALL FUNCTION 'EDI_CHANGE_CONTROL_RECORD'
    EXPORTING
    idoc_changed_control = itab_edidc
    EXCEPTIONS
    idoc_not_open = 1
    direction_change_not_allowed = 2
    OTHERS = 3.
    STEP 4 - Close Idoc
    Update IDoc status
    CLEAR t_itab_edids40.
    t_itab_edids40-docnum = t_docnum.
    t_itab_edids40-status = '51'.
    t_itab_edids40-repid = sy-repid.
    t_itab_edids40-tabnam = 'EDI_DS'.
    t_itab_edids40-mandt = sy-mandt.
    t_itab_edids40-stamqu = 'SAP'.
    t_itab_edids40-stamid = 'B1'.
    t_itab_edids40-stamno = '999'.
    t_itab_edids40-stapa1 = 'Sold to changed to '.
    t_itab_edids40-stapa2 = t_new_kunnr.
    t_itab_edids40-logdat = sy-datum.
    t_itab_edids40-logtim = sy-uzeit.
    APPEND t_itab_edids40.
    CALL FUNCTION 'EDI_DOCUMENT_CLOSE_EDIT'
    EXPORTING
    document_number = t_docnum
    do_commit = 'X'
    do_update = 'X'
    write_all_status = 'X'
    TABLES
    status_records = t_itab_edids40
    EXCEPTIONS
    idoc_not_open = 1
    db_error = 2
    OTHERS = 3.
    Other alternative is to use WE19 with reference to the error IDoc number.
    After you change the incorrect segment(s), you can post to the application.
    As of result, new IDoc will be created.
    You can use FM EDI_DOCUMENT_DELETE to delete the incorrect/errror IDoc number.
    Also you can use WE02 to change the incorrect segment.
    Double click on the incorrect segment to get the detail info. Then go to Data Record (menu) -> Change -> make neccessary changes -> Save.
    Then you can use this program RBDINPUT to reprocess the error IDoc.
    Hope this will help.

  • Mobile app based on web service data control and VO with VC runtime error

    Hi,
    Jdev 11.1.2.3.0 + mobile extension.
    Windows 7, 64 bit.
    Reproduceable with Android emulator but not on iOS and iOS emulator.
    I can not test on real Android device because we do not have it in our office.
    So I don't know wether this issue is related to android emulator only or to android in general.
    Also not reproduceable by Oracle support.
    I have a VO "Employees" with a VC "department_id = :departmentIdVariable" and exposed the find method for this VO via service interface in AM.
    (see demo video from https://blogs.oracle.com/shay/entry/developing_with_oracle_adf_mobile?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=facebook).
    In a ADF mobile app I create a parameter form and amx:listView like demoed in the mentioned video.
    Whenever I test this app on android emulator I get the error below.
    Exact the same page used in a second feature works fine.
    I found out that the problem only occures on the first attept (this means when I open the page on the second feature first then this will fail and the subsequent call of the first page will be successfull).
    The problem does not occure when the web service data control does not contain a method based on VC with bind variable.

    Does anyone has seen the above error ?
    I have recreated the model and mobile app more than 20 times, re-installed Jdev, re-created Jdev settings (integrated WLS & Co), ran the web services on a different machine.
    On my site this problem is 100% reproduceable with android emulator.
    regards
    Peter

    Hi, Peter, this could be an issue with proxy server setting. Are you behind a firewall when you test this?
    iOS simulator would use Mac's proxy setting. Android Emulator has its own proxy setup - it's a bit complicated to get to and varies based on the Android emulator you are using. For 4.1 emulator (you should always use 4.x or above emulators), you would need to go into the emulator itself, and go to settings - Wireless & Networks - click More... - Mobile Networks - Access Point Names. You should see an Access point used by the emulator to simulate network connection. Mine says "T-Mobile US". You click on it, and then you can select the proxy attribute and set it according to your office's settings.
    Hope that resolves the issue.
    Thanks,
    Joe Huang

  • ADF  Page Web service Data Control

    Hi,
    I am using JDeveloper 11.1.1.3
    I am trying to create a WSDC from an URI using WSDC Wizard(File --> New --> Web Services --> Web Service Data Control)
    It lets me through the last page, When i click finish it is throwing the following error
    I am getting Create Data Control Failed Dialog and it Says
    DCA-29000: Unexpected exception caught:
    java.lang.NullPointerException, msg=null
    Please Let me know what can be the problem. I have tried adding the EJB3.0 library but still no luck
    Thanks,
    Srini

    There might be something invalid in your WSDL.
    Try to create a Java Web Service Proxy for this WSDL in JDeveloper and see if that works.

    I would recommend that rather then working according to the demo you actually follow this tutorial:
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E18941_01/tutorials/jdtut_11r2_52/jdtut_11r2_52_1.html
    Which in the last part shows you how to use the Web service data control against a service you'll build.
