Osmf:use both embedded cuepoints and dynamic quepoints and using seek fails,is it possible at all?

I am tryin to use OSMF to play 4 videos that are divided into scenes using Navigation Cuepoints embedded into the f4v files using Media Encoder.
I also have a dynamic list of ActionScript cuepoints that is added for subtitling ( subtitles are done by another company and can't be embedded in the f4v because more subtitles may be added later).
When I just play a f4v file from the beginning everything works, but when I use seek tot start a different! video on a scene (so start seeking as the video canSeek) the embedded cuepoints never trigger the onCuePoint event.
The weird thing is that normally the embedded_cuepoints seem to be copied to the DYNAMIC_CUEPOINTS_NAMESPACE ! When trace numMarkers on timeLineData in EMBEDDED_CUEPOINTS_NAMESPACE it only returns cuepoints that have been reached! however numMarkers on timeLineData in DYNAMIC_CUEPOINTS_NAMESPACE returns the correct number of cuepoints.... but not when I use player.seek then teh DYNAMIC_CUEPOINTS_NAMESPACE return NULL
(this all happens even without adding teh actionscript cuepoints)
Can anyone shed some light?

Hi Karan,
No! You cannot have a Static prompt that is a filtering source for the subsequent dynamic prompts.
Have a look at Patrick's workaround (and other workarounds) for filtering the prompts based on a Date Range here:

Word of Caution to Apple: Snow Leopard is one of your best programs ever invented by you. Why are you looking to discontinue it? Both your Maverick and Lion programs failed due to breeches in its security unlike Snow Leopard!

Snow Leopard is one of the best MAC programs ever invented by Apple. So, I wanted to find out why Apple has chosen to discontinue there best working, and greatest, most stable Mac Program they have ever invented. In all honesty, Apple's Lion and Maverick programs have been disastrous due to recent serious security breaches in these new programs, which did not occur with any of Apple's Snow Leopard users like myself. Part of good business is sticking with programs that are enduring and will out last the test of time and technology.
Also, Snow Leopard has proved itself by passing in terms of protecting us "Snow Leopard" users from any security breaches and other problems that have affected both your newer Lion and Maverick programs with all its great technology. Continuing to go in the direction as Apple is going in relation to our Snow Leopard Mac program (by discontinuing this great program as well as support for it) I believe could prove to be a huge and fatal business mistake. Consider enhancing Snow Leopard; in other words continue to build on such positive potential in this way more stable program than your newer ones. Again, please re-consider your decision(s). Any thoughts?

Apple isn't listening here. (I should point out however, that your premise that Snow has stronger security is not correct. The gotofail error in 10.9 was a one-off and the OSs above 10.6 have greater sandboxing for security.) I still think Snow is a great OS and should receive continued support. It will inevitably become less secure without that.

For Accounting Documents...Create a number range using the TCode : FBN1
Give the range as the one which you specifed for the billing doc and make a check over the External Entry.
Assign this Number Range to Your Accounting Doc. Type.. using the Tcode OBA7.

Hi,
yes. It depends on how the reference line is getting its data. If e.g you can use EL to bind it to ADF bindings then attribute bindings for attributes of the iterator that also renders the table are enough to get the current selection.

Receiving a SMS both in Inbox and my midlet

Hi everybody,
I 've tried to write a MIDlet sending a text message and have some problems :
- if I set the same port to my MIDlet both in sending and receiving message, only my midlet can capture the message, Inbox doesn't.
- if I don't set port or set different ports to sending and receiving message, my MIDlet can't capture the message, only Inbox can.
So if I want my message go to both my MIDlet and Inbox, what should I do, I tried to set port = 0 in my MIDlet(same in sending and receiving) but only Inbox can have it, I wonder what is the defaul port of Inbox and whether it depends on the manufacture?
Can I "listen" when the message come to Inbox or when a message come to my MIDlet, can I filter it and foward the same content to my Inbox?

Do Dynamic Cuepoints Require Embedded Cuepoints?

I'm trying to add dynamic cuepoints to a video element using the cuepoint sample app, but I'm having difficulty getting the sample to work if I change the url of the video. I'm pointing it to a different f4v on a different Flash Media Server. The METADATA_ADD event never gets fired so my dynamicTimelineMetadata object remains null and I can't use addMarker() to add any dynamic cuepoints. Does this event only get fired if the video has embedded cuepoints? Am I required to add at least one cuepoint to the video file for this to work?

I've modified the sample to add the metadata if it doesn't exist. The framework doesn't (and shouldn't IMHO) add TimelineMetadata to every video. It only adds it if the onMetadata contains cue points or it gets the in-stream onCuePoint event.

Yes you can. You can access your account using any Skype enabled computer/device in any country worldwide.

You would need to use one Apple ID for purchases in order to get them across all of your devices and computer. If you want you can use one Apple ID for purchases and the other one to sync personal data. The article below will explain further.

Use external drive for both Time Machine and storage for Back to My Mac

Hi all,
I have been "a Mac" now for over a year and just keep finding cool new things that make me happy I switched. The latest thing is Back to My Mac offered with my Mobile Me account. With a rather convoluted mix of PC/Mac/iOS devices to manage - best $99 I ever spent btw...
I also have a 1TB Time Capsule that I have been using with Time Machine to back up all four of my Mac computers at home. Needless to say, the 1TB is really struggling to handle the amount of data being backed up and certainly leaves no room for anything else.
What I wanted to do was to attach a larger external hard drive via a powered hub to the USB port on the Time Capsule and use it for Time Machine backups while using the internal 1TB drive with Back to My Mac so that I can have remote access to all my data from anywhere without having to leave my computer running at home all the time in order for my laptop to "see" it when I'm away. And, yes, the amount of that data far exceeds what any level of Mobile Me subscription can offer! I should also mention that the hard drive is the only USB device connected through the hub to the Time Capsule at the moment. There are no other devices that might be "getting in the way".
I'm thinking maybe all this is asking too much without the addition of a dedicated file server (Mac Mini, perhaps - not a purchase my budget wants to make).
I understand that the Time Capsule doesn't support partitions, so I bought a Western Digital 2TB Elements drive, connected it to my Macbook Pro and used Disk Utility to reformat the drive from the incompatible NTFS it shipped in to a single, Mac OS Extended (Journaled) partition. I then made two folders on the drive, one for Time Machine backups and one for Back to My Mac remote storage/access. Great.
However, when I connected the 2TB drive to my Time Capsule I could not see it at all. Time Capsule was reporting problems in the way of a disk error. From within my Airport Utility, I could see the trouble was the external drive. The utility suggested connecting the drive to a Mac and using it's Disk Utility to troubleshoot.
I followed through, checking the disk, etc. and ended up reformatted the drive on my Macbook Pro yet again with the same specifications as before but without the folders and reconnected it to the Time Capsule. Same deal. But now, I can't even remotely connect to the Time Capsule at all. I can see the Time Capsule in the shared area of my Macbook's Finder but can not connect. The connection tries and fails even before it gets to asking me for username and password credentials.
Long story short, first of all, I suppose I would like to know if I'm asking for the impossible?
Second, if what I want to do *is* possible, what steps do I need to take to make it so?

Well, I have now reformatted/partitioned my poor WD Elements 2TB drive about a dozen times as well as restarted my 1TB Time Capsule so many times it's no wonder it's as confused as I am! <G>
Last night, at your suggestion, William, and in respect for your continued support, I tried creating two 1TB Mac OS Extended (Journaled) partitions on the WD external USB drive, both with GUID partition tables. Both volumes mounted to my laptop's desktop flawlessly and without issue.
Once the external drive was connected to the Time Capsule, however, it was a crap shoot as to whether or not the drive was recognized at all, reporting a problem with the disk, or, even at one point, mounting one of the two volumes but not both. <sigh>
I read somewhere on the Internet that you need to restart the Time Capsule for volumes on an external USB drive to be recognized.
So I tried that. I connected the freshly partitioned/formatted disk to the Time Capsule and restarted it. This succeed in removing the issue of reporting a nameless drive with a capacity of 0MB. It then reported the drive with its correct name but would not recognize whatever volumes in whatever partitions that particular crack at it contained with the exception of the once, as I mentioned above, when only one of two volumes mounted correctly and was listed with the right name and capacity on the Time Capusule's Setup's Disk tab.
At this point I have given up on my goal to use the external drive with Time Machine to back up my Macs or to hope I will ever be able to see its contents remotely via Back to My Mac. All I would like to do now is simply find a reason why I can't get it successfully connected and playing nice with my Time Capsule in the first place!
Any further suggestions or advice as to what steps I might take next would be greatly appreciated.

People who have Photoshop, but don't have Lightroom, need ACR so that they can use Raw files. Without ACR they could do nothing with those (they may also like having ACR so that they can work on other kinds of image using the same kinds of adjustments and techniques, as are used with Raw files).
People who have Lightroom, can get access to Raw files regardless whether ACR is present or not. They can use Lightroom on other kinds of image also, using the same methods. LR can pass images directly into Photoshop without passing via ACR (or else does so transparently, which amounts to substantially the same thing).
ACR does not, strictly speaking, even need to be installed for this external editing to happen. In fact, not even PS needs to be - since a different image editor can be used instead, while still retaining the Adobe Raw conversion etc.
Lightroom "subcontracts out" specialised external tasks, in this workflow, but is still your "main contractor": the image is otherwise located, viewed, managed, adjusted/presented and output entirely using LR.
So IMO we can divide image processing into:
operations that involve pixels and layers and layer masks and adjustment layers etc (of the kind done inside Photoshop)
operations that involve parametric edits (of the kind done in ACR where you are not using a Lightroom based workflow; otherwise, done inside Lightroom)
When PS is called in, that's because those tasks are impossible or unsuitable to do in Lightroom. But those tasks can't be done in ACR either - by definition, since LR and ACR have exactly the same image processing "feature set".
Lightroom is irrelevant to the Bridge + ACR + PS workflow. This workflow requires both your PS and your ACR to be current enough, to support your Raw format etc.
ACR and Bridge are irrelevant to the LR + (image editor) workflow. It is in this case, only LR which needs to be current enough to support your Raw format etc.

I'm building a test Lync deployment on Azure; yes, I know this is not supported, hence "test".
Lync Front-End servers expose two set of web services, one for internal users and one for external ones; they listen on different ports (443 and 4443) on the same servers; when external services are published, you need a reverse proxy or a port forwarding
in order to map port 443 of a public IP address to port 4443 of the Front-End server(s). When you have multiple Front-End servers in a pool, you also need to load-balance them.
So, a typical Lync deployment looks like this:

This should be easily replicated in Azure, as it supports both external load balancing and internal load balancing. They are even supported together in the same cloud service, so this configuration should be easy. However, it looks like "should"
is the keyword here.
After creating the external load balanced endpoint (which listens on external port 443 and forwards to port 4443 on the servers), I'm trying to create an internal load balancer and add internal endpoints to is; however, while the ILB can be created successfully,
adding an internal endpoint listening on port 443 and forwarding to port 443 on the servers fails miserably, with an error stating that port 443 is already in use by another endpoint:
Update-AzureVM : BadRequest : Port 443 is already in use by one of the endpoints in this deployment. Ensure that the port numbers are unique across endpoints within a deployment.
For reference, my commands are:

The error doesn't even make a lot of sense; the external load balancer listens on a public IP address, while the internal load balancer listens on a private IP address in the internal network; there
shouldn't be any conflict here... however it looks like there is one instead.
Why doesn't this work? Am I doing something wrong, or is Azure networking just being silly as usual again?

The issue that you are facing when creating an endpoint with internal loadbalancer is the limitation of not allowing same ports to be listening under a single cloud service. This reason for this is that there is a limitation of only one private IP (Also
known as the Internal load balanced IP) per cloud service.
