OSX App Store password refused

I can't log in and buy software, my password works with iTunes but not with the OSX App Store.

Sign out of MAS, then back in using the proper Apple ID.

  • Can I use more then one apple ID on my computer/osx app store

    Hi,
I use my MBP/iMac/ipad/iphone for both business and home.  Right now everything is setup to my home apple id (and I have made quite a few purchases with that).  With the release of the osx app store and FCPX,  my company wants to buy these for my computers.  But they want to do this on their apple id.  Can I run more then one id on a mac?  How can I make this work as I know they will want me to start getting more apps as they are released.

You can have apps from multiple Apple IDs on one Mac. The issue will be that to update Mac apps bought with A ID #1 will require signing into A ID #1 in the MAS. And later when apps bought with A ID #2 need an update you will need to sign into A ID #2 in the MAS to update them. If you can keep that straight and can abide that requirement, there should be no issues.
The same will be true to update iOS apps, but using iTunes.

  • Iphone 5 screen Flickers some time while entering app store password

    Hi
My Iphone 5 screen Flickers some time while entering app store password, not sure if it is BUG of Iphone 5 or I OS6 . Do I need to exchange my device?

It happened to me as well. Once in App Store and once in Flight+ app. It happens where the keys QWERTY is on the keypad. I assume it is a software bug in the OS. However, I don't eliminate the possibility of a hardware issue with my device since I dropped it on a hard carpet floor from waist height. No appearance damage but not sure about any internal damages. I will update this thread when I get more updates

    2) On the next page, enter your Apple ID Name and click Next.
    3) Authenticate by email or by answering the security question.
    4) By following the emailed link or answering the security question, you'll be presented the option to reset your Apple ID password.

  • HT201658 App Store Password

My App Store password is different from my Apple ID password.
I hove found how to re-set my Apple ID password (which I don't need to do as I know it), but I cannot find how I retrieve my App Store password.
    How do I do this?

OK, to find the iTunes/App Store Apple ID, go to: FORGOT APPLE ID to see if you can retrieve it. You would then change the password the same way you change your primary Apple ID password.
Unfortunately, there is no way to merge the two Apple IDs. I do have some options for you, however:
    1.     You can change the password on the iTunes/App Store ID to be the same as the one on your Primary ID, so it won't matter which one is asking for a password
    2.     You can start doing all new purchases from the iTunes, App Store, iBooks Store, etc. using your primary ID and stop using your old one altogether. The only time you will need that old ID would be to use the password for it to update apps purchased under that ID, or to Authorize a new computer (you would need to authorize it to both IDs)
    3.     You can also simply delete and re-purchase (or re-download, if free) any apps, music, etc. you purchased with the old ID, and just abandon it altogether
    Best of luck!

  • When downloading an update from app store, password is requested from a different user.  How to change user?

when downloading an update from app store, password is requested from a different user.  How to change user?

Unfortunately there's no way around this.  you will need that password to update the apps. If he won't give it to you, then i'm not sure what to say.
You should have kept the account with the Apps you bought yourself.
Otherwise, as I said, delete the Apps, and buy them again.
    Sorry.

  • How can I retrieve my App Store password

I used a different ID to purchase from App Store, now I can't remember the password for my Apple ID. The problem is, I can't update any apps purchased with that ID. Require immediate help to recover my forgotten password.

  • App Store-password request redundancy

Anyone have an issue with the App Store in that it requests you enter my password each time you access the store?  This happens each time, irregardless if you are making a purchase or not.  In some cases it will ask it will request 2 or 3 times...  This occurrence is new to me and its done this for the last 2-3 weeks?? Not sure if I have a security issue or if something's changes and I missed the notice....Any insight regarding this would be great appreciated, Thanks

  • Possible to save app store password ?

I'm starting to collect a few Apps from the App Store. As it is now I have to manually enter my Apple ID password everytime I download a new app.
Is it possible to have the password automatically saved/applied ? Not a major issue but the password complexity makes it difficult to key in again & again.

You will find that if you download more than one app or whatever, one right after another, you will not have to re-enter the password. That only lasts for about a minute or so between downloads, but it's helpful. You also need to be careful about hitting that "Buy" button right after you just bought something, because it will be bought and downloaded without any further confirmation.

  • Buying OSX App store on my imac and mounting it on a USB for my old MBP legal?

I want to buy OSX mountain lion in the App store on my imac and mount it on a USB to update my old MBP (running leopard so I can't use the app store.)
If I am using the same apple id for both computers is this legal or will the app store think I am putting it on extra computers, and shut me down or something?

Just to be clear the OSX mountain lion installer will not open even from a clean install, because the laptop is running 10.5.8
(My imac is running the latest mountain lion and the app store is already installed, I am not installing the appstore as the subject of this thread is a little confusing i realise now.)

  • Save Mac App Store password?

I am the primary tech for a school with roughly 200 Mac computers. I'd like to update as many as possible to Mavericks so I created an image with all of the free apps that are commonly used by the students/teachers (downloaded most from the app store). I'd like to allow those apps to update without my intervention but I absolutely can not give out the password for the school's Apple account (which has a credit card linked). Is there any way to save the password for downloading and updating free apps without allowing purchases? Any help will be appreciated.

Launching App Store does NOT ask for my password.  Browsing, even my installed apps, and checking for updates does NOT ask for my password.
Only buying something wants my password.
You can always change your Apple ID password to something a little more memorable.  If you want to keep it secure, make part of it unique but easy to remember, and then add some repetitive padding that extends its length.  Password length is what makes a brute force attack difficult to crack.

  • ITunes Store and App Store password suddenly 'incorrect' ?

    Hi all,
I switched my TV onto the Apple TV tonight to watch a TV episode and found that my Mac Mini server wasn't showing up.  iTunes is running but when I turned off Home Sharing and turned it back on, my Apple ID password wasn't accepted.  The password didn't work in the Mac App Store either.
At that point, the same password worked fine on the Apple Support Communities.
I reset my password and logged back into the Apple Support Communities - all worked OK (old password didn't work, so it's definitely changed).
Still iTunes and the Mac App Store won't accept my password.
What's going on?  Anyone else having this problem?

Forgot to mention - iCloud login in System Preferences works fine with the new password, further confirmatin that the password has definitely been changed.

  • App store password disabled ??

Tried to update 2 apps on my iPad2.   Pop up window says "Apple ID has been disabled" with no explanation given.  Reset password where needed.  Still does not allow me into APP store.  Any suggestions.  Or who do I call?   ha ha   Got into App store on computer.

I had bought a 4.99  app, but PayPal invoice charged 9.98 which I immediately disputed, since actual app name not on their invoice. The next day an Apple invoice arrived showing 2. $4.99 apps purchased.  I had purchased another 4.99 app days before, and it appears it took several days for invoices to be generated, which I find unusual.
Looks like this is being resolved by Apple, and I received an immediate response to my query and password reset.
I guess the moral to this story is give it a bit more time before disputing immediately.  This  has been more time consuming than anticipated.
    Again thanks Carolyn and Apple.

  • App Store password

I have been using my sisters apple ID but now I made my own. I don't want anything to do with her account. I switched my iCloud and iTunes to my new account yet in the app store it still asks for her apple ID. I don't want to lose my apps and things I have stored in my phone. How do I get it to stop asking for her account password?

What you want to do isn't possible. Her Apple ID can't be removed from your iPhone without deleting every application associated with it.
