Out of memory problem using the API

Hi all,
I need your assistance, we are working with CDB 10.2 making searches and retrieving the documents with all their attributes.
In our actual scenario we have a single user (which represents an application) accessing CDB. This user use several persistent sessions simultaneously. I mean, several thousands of final users connect to an application that uses one user of CDB to connect to CDB with several persistent sessions.
To simulate this scenario we wrote java code that open five threads and make several searches (requesting all the attributes) using the same user on cdb.
Retrieving a considerable amount of data found on the search (~5000), we found a “Out of memory” problem when we made these tests:
-     5 threads obtaining 100 documents (and all their attributes) / search
-     1 thread obtaining 500 documents (and all their attributes) / search
-     Also we have same problem if we make several searches with less results
We suppose it’s a configuration or code issue so we ask for your assistance and experience to solve it.
Thanks for your help,
Dani

  • Advice needed: The way to solve out of memory problem (or the way to work with big csv files)

    Hello:)
    I'm in trouble: I have a big csv file (over 5gb of web-analytics data) and my 64 bit excel (and 6gb ram)
    I cant load file to data model because of it's size. There is an error "out of memory" in power query.
    This is the first time when I encountered such a problem.
    What options do I have to work with such a file? To increase memory in my computer? Would it solve the problem? How much do I need to work with 6gb csv?
    Or may be I can upload my data somewhere to azure and work with it there?
    So the problem - is there any way to deal with big files using power query? Or I need to become a developer and learn sql or other languages?
    Thanks in advance.
    Max

    Hi Miguel!
    Thanks for your answer.
    I've tried to load this file on virtual pc from azure cloud with this config:
    I have increased memory limit in power query settings:
    And still, the proble is the same:
    What I do wrong?

  • Flex 4 RichEditableText out of memory problems

    Hello, we're conducting performance testing on the UI of a productivity application we're developing using Adobe AIR. We are using Flash Builder 4 public beta. One part of the performance test is updating the textFlow property of a RichEditableText control every 5 seconds with random data that contains several paragraphs and several images (to mimic a typical news article). We used TextFlowUtil.importFromString(str) to convert the raw data to a textFlow object.
    We found that the above test with the RichEditableText control would quickly crash the AIR runtime with presumably out-of-memory problems. If we switch to using the (read-only) RichText control, the problem went away. The only material difference between the two controls we could find in the documentation is that the RichEditableText control supports unlimited undo/redos as long as it retains focus. Could this be the source of the memory problem? Regardless, can its behavior be modified to avoid the out-of-memory problems?
    The use case we are trying to simulate is having the productivity app open for weeks at a time, with constant editing and going back and forth between different workflows.
    Thanks for your help, and please let me know if you need additional information

    Try a more recent build.

  • Problems using the Java API inside a Web Service

    Hi,
    after I've built a standalone Java RMI client, using the API, I wanted to use the same code in a Web Service I've built and deployed in tomcat (jwsdp-1.3). But i ran into a few problems..
    - although I have the exact same code in both programs, the one in the web service simply blocks when I initiate the Locator class (see above...);
    - all the .jar's that I use in the client are deployed in the WEB-IF/lib of the web service directory on tomcat;
    - no exceptions are thrown in tomcat, so i don't know what's going on;
    Is there any specific configuration for the API to run on tomcat?
    Could it be that the .jar's needed by the Locator class may have some kind of conflict with the ones in tomcat?
    Thanks...
    Note: The code on the client is totaly stable and fully operational.
    The web service uses java.rmi.Remote (extends Remote).
    Here's part of the code:
    Properties env = new Properties();
    env.setProperty("orabpel.platform", "oc4j_10g");
    env.setProperty("java.naming.factory.initial","com.evermind.server.rmi.RMIInitialContextFactory");
    env.setProperty("java.naming.provider.url","ormi://dellpc05/orabpel");
    env.setProperty("java.naming.security.principal","admin");
    env.setProperty("java.naming.security.credentials","welcome");
    Locator locator = new Locator("default", "bpel", env);
    IDeliveryService deliveryService = (IDeliveryService)locator.lookupService(IDeliveryService.SERVICE_NAME );
    (...)

    I've put a
    try{Locator...}
    }catch(Throwable t) {
    System.out.println(t.getMessage());
    t.printStackTrace();
    around the Locator..
    I still don't know why it's throwing this...
    Here's what it gets:

    Hello,
    I did what you told:
    - the mysql Jar version was already the  mysql-connector-java-5.1.6-bin.jar (may be due to update SP2),
    - I changed to adobe-ds.xml file,
    - I tried to launch the workbench with -Xmx512m in the command line.
    Here is the result:
    1- the launch of the workbench isa bit faster.
    2- when I try to login with the administrator account, it takes a long while. Then I get an error: I can not logon to the livecycle ES server from the workbench. The message is "Authentication for user administrator on server ... failed, please retry".
    In my log file, I get the following.
    eclipse.buildId=unknown
    java.version=1.5.0_12

    I also got another error message - with another configuration when triying to launch the workbench with JRE 1.6.0.12 (I hoped for better performance when replacing the JRE folder) :

    I also tried to to logon after renaming the folder JRE under: C:\Program Files\Adobe\LiveCycle ES\Workbench ES\Workbench . In order to use my default JRE which is 1.5.0-12.
    On the whole, I still get so errors and I can not logon.
    Do you have any suggestion ?
    Thank you for taking some time to reply.
    What I am tried to do is to added a HelloComponent.jar fronm a tutorial:

    My final  goal is to developp a ECM Connector.

  • NO-DATA_FOUND while using the API hr_employee_api.create_employee.

    This gives me an Error No_DATA_FOUND. I went an debugged through the code, where in I found that
    the following cursor query (in the API: "hr_assignment.update_assgn_context_value") is returning no values.
    cursor csr_ass_data is
    select ass_attribute_category
    from per_all_assignments_f
    where business_group_id = p_business_group_id
    and person_id = p_person_id
    and assignment_id = p_assignment_id
    and effective_start_date = p_effective_start_date
    and primary_flag = 'Y';
    Also, I found out that an assignment_id is coming back after the call to the API "hr_assignment_internal.create_default_emp_asg" from within the API "hr_employee_api.create_employee".
    Now, my question, why is the above cursor query giving me a no-data-found.
    Is there any setup that I am missing like setting DFF or enabling a profile option etc.,
    Please let me know.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Vijay

    Hi Gaurav,
    Thanks for the reply. But I caught the issue.
    The issue is with the parameter "p_hire_date =>sysdate" and the code in the API hr_employee_api.create_employee.
    What it does is, it captures the date that we pass "p_hire_date" into a local variable "l_hire_date" as follows:
    l_hire_Date := TRIM(p_hire_date) and then passes the l_hire_date to the API "hr_assignment_internal.create_default_emp_asg". The API works fine and also returns us an assignment ID. Everything is fine till now.
    The problem begins with the call to the API "hr_assignment.update_assgn_context_value", where in the p_hire_date is passed, instead of the l_hire_date and hence the NO_DATA_FOUND comes up.
    What Happens ?
    1.The date that I passed has the time component in it.
    2.The assignment gets created with a date that has no time component (due to TRIM).
    3The query has a where condition on the date with the time component.
    Hence, it returns no rows.
    Solution: Pass the p_hire_Date as trunc(sysdate) than simply sysdate.
    Thanks,
    Vijay

  • "No enought room on startup disk for Application Memory" when using the Accelerate Framework

    Dear colleagues,
    I am running what I know is a large problem for a scientific application (tochnog) a finite element solver that runs from the Terminal. The application tries to solve 1,320,000 simultaneous linear equations. The problem starts when I use the Accelerate Framework as the Virtual Memory size jumps from 142 G to about 576 G after the library  (LAPACK) is called to solve the system.It does not do it if I use a solver that does not calls LAPACK inside Accelerate.
    The machine is a mac pro desktop with 8 GB of ram, the 2.66 GHz Quad-core Intel and the standard 640 GB hard drive. The system tells me that I have 487 GB available on hard drive.
    The top instruction in Terminal reads VM 129G vsize when starting. When I run the finite element application once the LAPACK library in the Accelerate framework gets called, the Virtual Memory (VM) jumps to 563 G vsize.
    After a short while, I get the "No enought room on startup disk for Application Memory error"
    This is a screen capture of the application attempting to solve the problem using the LAPACK library inside the Accelerate framework: Here are the numbers as reported by the activity Monitor.
    Tochnog Real Memory 6.68 GB
    System Memory  Free: 33.8 MB, Wired 378.8 MB, Active 5.06 GB, Inactive 2.53 GB, Used 7.96 GB.
    VM size 567.52 GB, Page ins 270.8 MB, Page outs 108.2 MB, Swap used 505 MB
    This is a screen copy of the same application solving the same problemwithout using the Accelerate framework.
    Tochnog Real Memory 1.96 GB,
    System Memory  Free: 4.52 MB, Wired 382.1 MB, Active 2.69 GB, Inactive 416.2 GB, Used 3.47 GB.
    VM size 148.60 GB, Page ins 288.8 MB, Page outs 108.2 MB, Swap used 2.5 MB
    I can not understand the disparity in the behavior for the same case. As I said before, the only difference is the use of Accelerate in the first case. Also, as you can see, I thought that 8 GB of ram memory was a lot.
    Your help will be greatly appreciated
    Best regards,
    F Lorenzo

    The OP had posted this question in the iMac Intel forum.
    I replied along similar lines, but suggested he repost this in the SL forum where I know there are usually several people who have a far better grasp of these issues than I.
    I would be interested in getting their take on this.
    Although, I think you are coming to the correct conclusion that there are not enough resources available for this process, I'm not certain that what you are saying on the way to that conclusion is correct. My understanding of VM is that it is the total theoretical demand on memory a process might make. It is not necessarily the actual or real world demand being made.
    As such, this process is not actually demanding 568GB (rounded.) As evidence of that, you can see there is still memory available, albeit quite small, in the form of free memory of 33.8MB and inactive of 2.53GB (the GB for that figure, above, seems like it might be a typo, since for the process when not using Accelerate the reported figure for inactive was 416.2 GB -- surely impossible) and 7.96GB used. The process, itself, is using 6.68GB real memory.
    In addition, I question whether the OP has misstated the 487GB free drive space. I think that might be the total drive capacity, not the free space.
    My guess is that it is the combination of low available memory and low free drive space prompting this error.
    From Dr. Smoke on VM:
    it is possible that swap files could grow to the point where all free space on your disk is consumed by them. This can happen if you are very low on both RAM and free disk space.
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/2232469?messageID=2232469&#2232469
    This gets more to the actual intent of your question...
    EDIT: Looks like some kind of glitch right now getting to the Dr. Smoke post.

  • Out of memory message in the audio window

    i finally updated my studio software from logic6 whilst still using the protools HD 192 interface.
    i updated the OS to leopard and installed logic 7 and updated the software for everything.(atmosphere,bfd,stylus,autotune etc).
    not only did many of the apps not work (after downloading all their relevant updates)but when i recorded audio no waveform appeared.
    however reloading the session DID make the waveform reappear.
    in the audio window the audio file had no location but a message saying 'out of memory'.
    hitting 'refresh overview' after recording helped but ultimately does not fix the issue.(also the system stutters when 'dropping in'on a recording)
    i then bought the logic 8 upgrade hoping it would magically resolve the issue and..same problem.grrr.
    protools 8 ,on the other hand,works like a dream.(additionally all the apps mentioned above work smoothly too).
    what am i missing?

    my friend figured the 'out of memory' problem was caused by running protools' latest version on the same drive as both logic 7 and logic 8.
    he de-installed protools and re-installed and previous older protools version and the 'out of memory' issue (plus no visible waveform) in logic 7 and 8 was corrected.
    do apple and digidesign grow ever further apart or is it a question of catch up for one or both?

    Hi. After loading a picture into Photoshop some of the menu tools are greyed out and I cannot use the keyboard short cuts, for instance I cannot use Ctrl + T for free transform, how do I resolve this problem. In addition the tool Icons are so small I have to get close to the screen to see them, is there anyway the Icons can be made bigger without reducing the resolution of the screen.
    Thanks
    Derek

    Are you working on a background layer? If so, Ctrl + T will not work. Press Alt and double-click your background layer to convert to a normal layer (or right-click BG layer and select Layer from Background) and try again.
    If you're working in Photoshop CC 2014 you can go to Preferences > Experimental Features and tick "Scale UI 200% for high-density displays" to make your buttons and icons larger.

  • How can i add custom attributes to a new Class Object using the API ?

    Hello everyone,
    Here is my problem. I just created a subclass of Document using the API (not XML), by creating a ClassObjectDefinition and a ClassObject. Here is the code :
    // doc is an instance of Document
    ClassObject co = doc.getClassObject();
    ClassObjectDefinition cod = new ClassObjectDefinition(ifsSession);
    cod.setSuperclass(co);
    cod.setSuperclassName(co.getName());
    cod.setName("MYDocument");
    ClassObject c = (ClassObject)ifsSession.createSchemaObject(cod);
    Everything seems to be OK since i can see the new class when i use ifsmgr. But my question is : how can i add custom attributes to this new class ? Here is what i tried :
    AttributeDefinition value = new AttributeDefinition(ifsSession);
    value.setAttribute("FOO", AttributeValue.newAttributeValue("bar"));
    c.addAttribute(value);
    But i got the following error message :
    oracle.ifs.common.IfsException: IFS-30002: Unable to create new LibraryObject

    Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    Hi Guillaume,
    you're welcome. Don't know exactly, but assume that ATTRIBUTEDATATYPE_UNKNOWN
    is used to check for erronous cases only
    and it shouldn't be used otherwise.
    Creating your own objects could be simply done via
    ClassObject ifsClassObject;
    DocumentDefinition ifsDocDef = new DocumentDefinition(ifsSession);
    // get class object for my very own document
    ifsClassObject = ClassObject.getClassObjectFromLabel(ifsSession, "MYDOCUMENT");
    // set the class for the document i'd like to create
    ifsDocDef.setClassObject(ifsClassObject);
    // set attributes and content for the document...
    ifsDocDef.setAttribute("MYFOO_ATTRIBUTE",....);
    ifsDocDef.setContent("This is the content of my document");
    // create the document...
    PublicObject doc = ifsSession.createPublicObject(ifsDocDef);

  • Could not complete the command because of a problem using the Adobe Color Engine

    Hi all
    This bizarrely started this morning - completely out of the blue - and I've no idea why.
    Setup: Mac 10.8.2 / Creative Suite Premium PhotoShop CS5 extended (patched to 12.04)
    Am working on images exported from LightRoom 4 (16bit A3 Pro Photo RGB PSDs) in PhotoShop CS5.
    As part of my image grading process I have a PhotoShop Action that does the following: copy layer to new document (document respects all of copied layer settings) > Image > Adjustments > HDR toning > apply a certain HDR preset > copy to resultant image back to original doc > set opacity as 40%.
    Totally out of the blue, after having this action for about 2 months, this morning I start getting a warning dialog of "Could not complete the command because of a problem using the Adobe Color Engine" and the action fails. The failure seems to take place at the 'make document' part of the action and seems to somehow be related to the contents of the clipboard.
    I've tried trashing and re-creating the action. It works first time out fine and then - on the next image - errors again.
    At present I can only safely carry out the work 'manually' by completing all the actions myself.
    I can think of no settings that have changed and the OS hasn't been updated in a while.
    I have found one other thread on a similar problem in PhotoShop Elements, but no definitive solution.
    Any help appreciated as I have a shedload of stuff to process.
    Best wishes
    TP

    OK: trash of prefs didn't work. Tried thrice. Re-created orig action. same problem.
    BUT!
    Your 'Image > Duplicate' suggestion does seem to work. If I use that in a new action as the method for creating the HDR version doc (instead of 'Select > Copy > New > Paste), it seems to work.
    Will try that out this afternoon, but for now: WIN!
    Many thanks for the suggestion!
    TP

  • Problem using the Write to SGL VI and Read from SGL VI

    Hello Sir, I have a problem using the Write to SGL VI. When I am trying to write the captured data using DAQ board to a SGL file, I am unable to store the data as desired. There might be some problem with the VI which I am using to write the data to SGL file. I am not able to figure out the minor problem I am facing. I am attaching a zip file which contains five files.
    1) Acquire_Current_Binary_Exp.vi -> This is the VI which I used to store my data using Write to SGL file.
    2) Retrive_BINARY_Data.vi -> This is the VI which I used to Read from SGL file and plot it
    3) Binary_Capture -> This is the captured data using (1) which can be plotted using (2) and what I observed is the plot is different and also the time scare is not as expected.
    4) Unexpected_Graph.png is the unexpected graph when I am using Write to SGL and Read from SGL to store and retrieve the data.
    5) Expected_Graph.png -> This is the expected data format I supposed to get. I have obtained this plot when I have used write to LVM and read from LVM file to store and retrieve the data.
    I tried a lot modifying the sub VI’s but it doesn’t work for me. What I think is I am doing some mistake while I am writing the data to SGL and Reading the data from SGL. Also, I don’t know the reason why my graph is not like (5) rather I am getting something like its in (4). Its totally different. You can also observe the difference between the time scale of (4) and (5).
    Have a Good Day

    Krishna

    As already discussed a while ago, your binary data does not contain timing information. You need to tell it the scan rate so it can reconstruct the time axis correcty.
    From the data, it seems the sample file was recorded at 0.5MHz. Take the inverse and set the time increment. Voila!
    Your sample file is two column data with one colum all zero. You need to set the number of columns to two, to only get the good data in channel 1.
    Your acquisition program contains unecessary FOR loops, you can remove the inner loops without change in result.
    It makes no sense to convert to SGL if you initialize the shift registers with an empty DBL array. You need to initialize with an empty SGL array.
    (The code could be simplified quite a bit more, but this should give you some directions).
    The attached zip shows some ideas (LabVIEW 7.1).

  • Combining files in php using the api

    I am trying to automate the process of cobining multiple tiffs into pdfs using the iac api.
    I keep getting a call to member function on a non-object error if any of you could see why this error is happening or sugest a better way to solve the problem I would greatly appreciate it
    $AdobeApp = new COM("AcroExch.App");
    $AVDocument = new COM("AcroExch.AVDoc");
    $PDDocument = new COM("AcroExch.PDDoc");
    $file = 'c:/test.pdf';
    $create = $PDDocument->Create();
    echo $create . chr(10) . chr(13);
    $combo = 'c:/0013947320101071-705666408_4-97.tif';
    $insert = $PDDocument->InsertPages(0,$combo);
    echo $insert . chr(10) . chr(13);
    $npages = $PDDocument->GetNumPages();
    $combo = 'c:/0013947320101071-705666408_1-94.tif';
    $PDDocument->InsertPages($npages -1,$combo);

    I guess I missed that part of the documentation. I've gone through the documentation a good deal of times and can't find anything other than that that would be useful.  Do you have any suggestions? Have I missed something?  Is it possible to combine tiffs into a pdf using the api?

  • How do I create/update an Excel file using the API?

    Hi,
    I've successfully created a "Web Intelligence" document using the API (POST /raylight/v1/documents).  However, I need to do the same for an Excel file type and have been unable to do so.  Attached are the different steps needed to accomplish this with the UI.  I need to be able to do the same thing through the API.
    I searched through the docs but haven't found anything regarding this particular aspect.
    Does anyone have a clue?
    Thanks

    Thanks for the link.  I'm using .Net and thought the process would be fairly similar.  It is indeed, however, I'm stuck with the following error when committing on the infoStore object:
    File Repository Server error :
    ErrorCode: -2147210678
    Here's the code I'm using:
    var folderID = infoStore.Query("Select TOP 1 SI_ID From CI_INFOOBJECTS Where SI_KIND='Folder' And SI_NAME='myfolder'")[1].ID;
    var infoObjects = infoStore.NewInfoObjectCollection();
    var infoObject = infoObjects.Add(CrystalDecisions.Enterprise.InfoStore.CeKind.EXCEL);
    infoObject.Title = "Book4.xlsx";
    infoObject.Files.Add("C:\\Users\\myuser\\Documents\\Book4.xlsx");
    infoObject.ParentID = folderID;
    infoStore.Commit(infoObjects);
    I know the problem is related to "infoObject.Files.Add" because when I omit this statement, it works but the file has no content.
    Any idea why???  It's driving me crazy

  • Read timed out, for file checkin using SCS API

    Hi,
    I have installed content server and deployed CIS in standalone oc4j.
    I want to checkin files using the SCS API. Initially I was to able checkin a file of size 120MB successfully. When I tried to checkin a file of size 300MB , file is checked in but an Exception with the msg "Read timeout out" is thrown.
    I am able to checkin the same file(300MB) through content server front end without any error.Why do I get exception when using the API?

    I would probably guess that CIS is configuring its socket threads to have particular timeouts (to limit the time you would wait if something seriously went wrong with the request). Typically CIS is focused on page generation in APP servers or portals and these app servers (or portals) tend to like timeouts on their requests. This of course is unsuitable for the scenario of uploading the file. I would consult the CIS documentation to see if there are any mechanisms for tuning this behavior. If not, try contacting support.
