Out of stage components visible

Hello,
A very newbie question. Here is what I did:
1. Opened a new blank Flash File (AS3) with the default stage
size (550, 400)
2. In the first frame I drew a rectangle and converted it
into a movie clip (RectMC).
3. I moved RectMC out of the stage.
I published the file, and uploaded it to a webserver. Instead
of viewing the .html page, I viewed the .swf file and I could see
my RectMC which was placed outside the stage, which I did not
expect to see.
How can I display only the objects placed in the stage and
hide all out-of-stage components? Do I have to tweak the publish
settings?
Thanks.
.Bala.

You're not supposed to be viewing the SWF file directly. For
web browsers you need the SWF to be loaded inside of an HTML
container.
What you have to do here is use Publish in the file menu.
This will create an HTML and a SWF file, assuming you're using the
default settings. That HTML will have the proper embed code for a
550 x 400 SWF, and should show the stage itself when it loads the
SWF.

  • No Disassemble stage components can recognize the data

    I got a very weird issue this Morning. There is one suspended flat file message in one receive location with the error "No Disassemble stage components can recognize the data". It has been running well before. At the begging, I thought it might
    be due to the data of the message, but everything looks ok for the message so I tried to resume the message and it went through without that error anymore. My manager asked me what could be the reason but I really do not know. I checked the event log and did
    not see anything special.
    So anybody has any idea what could be the reason for this error?
    Thanks,
    David
    David

    If this happened only once , then I would say one of those error which I would ignore now. Since this is something wired, this error is well document but for different cause. When the same message goes through when you resubmit, and if I had not seen this
    error before/often, Ignore it this time.
    If this happen more often, then try to identify the pattern, we can help then. As of now, sorry this issue is not seen in the past and ignore as one off. Or if its a often occurring error, give us more evidence to help.

  • Mouse move event when mouse out of stage.

    Hi
      I'm wondering how is this task done that listen to mouse move event when user cursor is out of stage?

    Hi, kennethkawamoto2
        I've tried in this way: use "stage.mouseX, stage.mouseY" these two values when cursor is out of stage, and it worked quite well till now,
    If you mind discribe the issue that you've metion that " Flash does not report mouse location correctly beyond stage.." more in detail, I think I should avoid this. Thank you very much!

  • Developing new Swing Components - Visibility problems with UI classes

    I was wondering if anyone out there had run into the following problems when developing new Swing components. If so it might be worth banding together and putting pressure on Sun to fix them. However, if no one else develops new Swing components then I guess I'm just a lone voice...
    I have been writing a new dockable toolpanel Swing component and when it came to implementing the UI manager I was unable to access many of the standard features in basic and metal LAFs because they had been made package protected. This forced me to reimplement quite a bit of existing code which took time as well as being bad practice.
    While in some cases I can understand this from a security POV I am pretty sure that in this case it is the result of lazy programming practice. Appart from basic architectural reasons for this I have noticed a trend where newer code seems to suffer from this more than the original code. The practice of using package protection reminds me of C++ style coding, or just that of an inexperienced developer who does not understand the need to code for extensibility.
    An additional problem arises because the Security manager stops you cheating the system by putting new classes into the javax.swing.plaf... package structure. Thus the only way to solve this nicely is a proper fix.
    This would entail going through all the UI PLAF classes and rationalizing the visibility to either public or protected as appropriate. Really there should be minimal use of package protection unless it is vital for security concerns.
    Some Examples (there are many more):
    javax.swing.plaf.basic.LazyActionMap
    javax.swing.plaf.basic.BasicBorders.RolloverMarginBorder
    javax.swing.plaf.basic.BasicBorders.SplitPaneDividerBorder (why are just these two classes package protected when all the others are public?)
    javax.swing.plaf.metal.MetalUtils
    javax.swing.plaf.metal.MetalBumps
    Anyway, I am happy to give advice to other poor saps who wind up fighting the UI manager but it would be better if we could get Sun to sort out this mess (after all they created it).
    Cheers, Lewis

    It may be more a case of creating new Swing components and trying to provide support for all the standard LnFs.
    This is very awkward although you can sometimes achieve what you want by borrowing resources from UIManager (a border here, an icon there etc.).
    Essentially the problem is that Swing is designed to have new components added to it but the standard LnFs aren't quite so accommodating!

  • Zoom in and out on stage?

    Hello All,
    I am creating an interactive map in Edge Animate and was wondering how to zoom in and out on the stage.
    In other words...I have an image that fills the page but everything looks very small.
    I need to have zoom in and out buttons for users.
    It's also OK if the mouse scroll zooms the image, or some other option...I just need to be able to zoom in and out somehow!
    To be clear....I am NOT looking to have it scale to the width of the browser. I need the image itself to be able to zoom in and out.
    Anybody have any ideas?
    Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
    Jason

    Hi Redesign. Thanks so much for your recommendation
    I actually found and purchased a jQuery zoom: http://vectorflower.com/preview/smooth_zoom/sample5.html
    Sample 5 is pretty much exactly what I was looking for.
    BUT (and there's always a but isn't there?)...I can't for the life of me figure out how to get this into my Edge Animate project.
    This is the project I am working on: Untitled
    I'm just starting on it, but you can roll over "The Westin" in the upper left corner and see what I started to do. Just a simple rollover with a box and text. I will be adding a bunch more to this map.
    I am trying to get the entire thing to zoom in, and I'm not sure if it's possible with the jQuery zoom I bought.
    The jQuery zoom instructions say:
    1. First set ID attribute for the image in your web page. For example:
    <img id="yourImageID" src="your_image.jpg" />
    ...but I am adding all those rollovers in Edge Animate and it is going to be a "symbol"...not an "image".
    I'm not sure how to make it work for a symbol or if it's even possible.

  • After using modify/contents some frames go out of stage dimension

    Hello,
    I have a question to all you animators out there.
    I work in after effects and sometimes do some simple illustrations/animations in flash - where I usually switch the bg colour to gray
    as not to see the stage rectangular as it's distracting to me. Then when I have my drawings and a few different frames done I go to
    modify/ choose bg colour to white and check contents to frame all the content inside the document - then I want to export it to swf
    so I can use it in after effects.
    At this point all seems fine, all the frames are in place, however I noticed that frequently when I reopen my flash documet after having done this some frames are outside
    the white stage box (usually later frames, the 1st is in place).
    How do you deal with this?

    Hi all,
    Sorry for the slow response - as I'm sure you can understand, running lots of exports takes a few days and so it's taken me a while to test your suggestions properly.
    The render completes using the media encoder without crashing (MPEG2 Blu-ray and H.264 Blue Ray both worked), however the picture quality has really blurred:
    Original:
    MPEG2 Blu-Ray
    I also ran it in H.264 Blur-ray and this also appeared blurry. Apologies for lack of a screenshot, I deleted the export to conserve disk space.
    This is very similar to the problems I had under File => Export => Movie, which went away after I tweeked the export settings to match as closely as possible the footage (however Premiere then crashed when I tried to export the entire movie rather than just a clip).
    Working settings under File => Export which crashed Premiere but prevented the blurriness:
    Export
    Video and audio
    Entire Sequence
    Filetype
    QuickTime
    Video Settings
    Compressor: H.264
    Frame size: 1280h 720v (1.000)
    Frame rate: 29.97 frames/second
    Pixel Aspect Ratio: Square Pixels (1.0)
    Fields: No Fields (Progressive Scan)
    Audio Settings
    Compressor: Uncompressed
    Sample rate: 48000 samples/second
    Channels: Stereo
    Sample type: 16-bit
    Settings under Adobe Media Encoder
    Any thoughts what I'm doing wrong? This is starting to get really frustrating and I'm genuinely wondering if Premiere is suitable for what I'm trying to do. I've another project a month late in getting started because I want to get Premiere to export this so I know I'm not going to run into the same problems again - but I really don't know what else to try? Any ideas?

  • Components visibility depending on permission

    Hi all,
    WebCenter Spaces (and Composer in custom apps as well)
    currently using WebCenter 11gPS1
    What I want to achieve: components that are added to a Space/page at run time are visible only for users/Space members with a certain role/permission.
    I am thinking about setting the Component visibility using an EL Expression. I am looking for the EL expression to use that refers to permissions of the current user. I have found #{securityContext.userName} . Now I try to find some expression that allows me to test whether a user has a permission (something like #{securityContext.hasPermission['some permission']}).
    Does anyone know how I can use EL to test for the current user's permission(s)?
    Or alternatively: does anyone know another way to define access to components - such as images, rich text blocks and custom task flows or portlets - based on permissions?
    thanks.
    Lucas

    In order to make use of WebCenter Spaces classes such as Space, SpaceContext and WCSecurityManager, I had to add the WebCenter Spaces Client library to project. To ensure the compilation from the Ant script succeeds, I also have to add the required Jar files to the internal-targets.xml file (or at least that was a way to get it work):
    <path id="library.WebCenter.Spaces.Client">
          <pathelement location="${jdeveloper.install.home.directory}/jdeveloper/webcenter/modules/oracle.webcenter.framework_11.1.1/webcenter-core-api.jar"/>
          <pathelement location="${jdeveloper.install.home.directory}/jdeveloper/webcenter/modules/oracle.webcenter.framework_11.1.1/spaces-api.jar"/>
          <pathelement location="${jdeveloper.install.home.directory}/jdeveloper/webcenter/modules/oracle.webcenter.framework_11.1.1/spaces-webservice-client.jar"/>
       </path>
      <path id="classpath">
         <path refid="library.ADF.Common.Runtime"/>
         <path refid="library.WebCenter.Spaces.Client"/>
       </path>Note: my colleague Aino Andriessen takes all the credits here.
    This allowed us to deploy and run a bean with code like this:
        public String getText() {
            String text = "start:";
            Space space = SpacesContext.getCurrentInstance().getCurrentSpace();
            WCSecurityManager secMgr;
            text = text + "members";
            try {
                secMgr = space.getSecurityManager();
                List<MemberInfo> m = secMgr.getMemberInfo();
                for (MemberInfo minf : m) {
                    text = text + ";" + minf.getName();
                    text = text + "roles:";
                    List<oracle.webcenter.webcenterapp.security.RoleInfo> roles =
                        minf.getRoles();
                    for (RoleInfo rinf : roles) {
                        text = text + "-" + rinf.getName() + "|" + rinf.getPolicyRoleName() + "/";
            } catch (SpacesException e) {
            } catch (WCSecurityException e) {
            return text;

  • Making components visible

    Hi there,

    Thankyou

    I'm having a coldfusion component problem and unfortunately I
    have not been able to find any information on it. Any help anyone
    could give me, including some different keywords I could try
    searching for answers with, would be greatly appreciated. My
    website is on a shared hosting system and if I type the url of my
    cfc's into the browser all of the text that is not inside
    coldfusion tags (all of my sql statements in this case) gets
    displayed in the browser. Are people usually supposed to be
    redirected to the coldfusion administrator login rather than seeing
    the page? Does anyone know if this might be a coding problem or
    something that some hosting providers disable? I've had a hard time
    trying to find information about this and I'm not too familiar how
    the Coldfusion Administrator handles the display of cfc
    files.

    Soccermagu,
    "Apache server doesn't know where to redirect .cfc file"
    makes little sense to me. All your provider has to do is configure
    Apache and Coldfusion properly. Ask your provider to go through the
    following steps.
    Configuring
    Apache for Coldfusion MX on Windows
    Configuring
    Apache for Coldfusion MX on Unix
    Have you ruled out the combination MX 6.1 and Apache 2.2?
    Coldfusion MX 6.1 does not support Apache 2.2. Still, there are
    ways. Here's
    one
    way to make MX 6.1 and Apache 2.2 work together.

  • Would like a participant to answer essay questions with capacity to print out, but not be visible for next participant.

    As the title says, I would like the participants to answer open, reflective questions and then be able to print answers.  Alternatively, each participant would have their own version of the course with all their questions answered which they could return to with a password.  Ideas?

    I'm thinking of using the Notes function as the responses need only to
    be seen and saved by the participant not by some offline teacher.  I'm
    also going to explore the Short Answer to see exactly how short it must
    be.  Finally, if all else fails, I might be able to attach a doc or pdf
    file to the course which each person could upload and enter text into,
    save, and later print out.
    Thanks for the info about LMS.  That is more expensive than my client
    wants to go.

  • Sales BOM components visible on forms...

    I have a client that has a wish list item, they would like the sales BOM component items to not show on Quotes, order acknowledgements and invoices but obviously need them to appear on the picking and packing documents along with the parent. Has anyone else run across this type of request? Is this something that can be accommodated in Crystal?
    Thanks much! Amy

    You can probably make it happen in Crystal.  Even in PLD, just make take those fields out from the form and only include them in the picking and packing documents.
