Outlook 2003 "Attachment Options" buttons missing

Hi
Im having some trouble finding the Attachment options button.
when i add an image the button just doesn't appear and i have to go via customize to get the task pane to open, which is bothersome.
Is there an option i can check that will make this button reappear.
thanks
Steve

Hi,
Would you please provide a screen shot so that we can understand this problem more clearly? You can upload the screenshot to
OneDrive if you don't have permission to upload image in this forum.
Meanwhile, please try to run a repair of your Office 2003 installation to check the result:

  • HT5925 Bookmark Options button missing?!?

The iCloud control panel is missing the options button for bookmarks.  I installed the Firefox add-on, and still nothing.  I installed a fresh Safari browser, still nothing.  Reinstalled iCloud, still no button...  I don't have any way to tell it to use Firefox, no way to force it to do what I want.  Firefox is a far superior browser than Internet Explorer and the lack of proper support is disappointing.  Is there anyway to edit the setting files for iCloud or some trick to force it to sync Firefox bookmarks with iCloud?

  • Outlook 2013 Mail Option buttons not working

Microsoft Office Outlook 2013 issue where in Outlook File>Options>Mail the "Spelling and Autocorrect", "Signatures", and "Stationary and Fonts" buttons will not respond. I have searched and searched but I cannot make these
    buttons work.
Solutions I have tried with no results:
    Running Outlook in Safe Mode
    Disabling all Com-Addins
    Reinstalled Outlook
    Ran Office Repair
    Re-created Mail Profiles
    Disabled HIPS protection
    Changed Registry values in:

        HKLM>Software>Classes>Wow6432Node>CLSID>{0006F03A-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}\LocalServer32
            (Default) Key and LocalServer32 Key
Tried to get to signature through MS Word
I am unable to navigate to the location of the signature block and I am able to place signatures there through adding .rtf, .htm, and .txt file. I am able to add them into the email, but when I choose "signatures" no window opens to add/edit current
    signatures.
Please Help! I cannot think of anything else to try!

    Hi Chris,
Are these three buttons grayed out?
What version of Windows and Outlook 2013 are you using? The registry value we need to modify is different according to the version of Windows and Outlook.
    32-bit version of Windows
           HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\{0006F03A-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}\LocalServer32
32-bit version of Office on a 64-bit version of Windows
           HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Wow6432Node\CLSID\{0006F03A-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}\LocalServer32
    64-bit version of Office
           HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\{0006F03A-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}\LocalServer32
Please make sure you have modified the correct registry value.
In addition, please also make sure you have entered the correct path to Outlook.exe for the registry value. It's recommended to navigate to the path in Explorer first and then copy and paste the path to the data filed of the registry values.

  • "Attachment" option missing from edit window

I recently finally made the upgrade to Snow Leopard.  Now the "attachment" option is missing in iCal??  I still have the "url" link option within the edit window, but the "attachment" line is no longer there.  Prior to the upgrade, I was able to add both a url link AND a file attachment to an iCal event.
Did something go wrong during the upgrade or is this simply the "new & improved" iCal?

Thanks John.  I did ALSO make the upgrade switch to the new MobileMe version at the same time as well.  So your link provides my answer.
That blows that they removed the attachment option -- why would they take away such a simple, but VERY useful, feature as part of an upgrade (i.e. improved version) ?!?!
Oh well, time to head over to the feedback form and let them know yet another thing I wish they'd add to make iCal a top level calendar program... http://www.apple.com/feedback/ical.html

  • Reader 9.5.0 win7: using the Attach to Email... command causes outlook 2003 to freeze when sending

Clicking the envelope icon or choosing the menu option works as usual, but when I try to send the email in outlook 2003 I get an error message that says "The email failed, try again."  Then Outlook freezes and you have to end its task in order to continue.  I've had this issue on two seperate machines.  Any ideas, aside from attaching the email from outlook manually?

Does this happen for all the files or only files greater than a certain size?

  • GW7, Outlook 2003 to 2007 Attach File Problem.

Most users here have Outlook 2003 but some are upgrading to 2007.
The 2003 users, if they choose to have Word as default mail editor, can click the paperclip to attach a file the dialog to browse the GW library opens or you can choose Application Dialog and browse the c:.
Outlook 2007/2010 have no option to not use Word as their default editor. BUT when you click the paperclip you only get the application dialog, not the GW dialog that allows you to choose docs from the library.
    Anyone know why?
I suggested some work-arounds (save to c:... for example) and you would have thought i insulted his mother...

Well, actually I think it's quite cool (and totally unexpected) that Outlook
2003 worked. But here's why it worked.
Word can be "integrated" with GroupWise of course. So that when you are in
Word, and choose File|Open you have the options you described. This is TOTALLY
a function of Word though, and really has nothing at all to do with Outlook,
except that Outlook was calling Word during it's email composition, and also
using Word's file dialogs. So, now that Outlook has taken away the ability to
use Word as the editor, it has essentially broken the undocumented and
unexpected integration of GroupWise DMS into Outlook!
I can see no way to fix this, since it's really Word that's doing the lookup for
you for the attachment, and not actually Outlook.

  • Error message when opening pdf attachment in Outlook 2003

I have several computers in my network running different version of Adobe Acrobat...Adobe 6.0 standard, Adobe 7.0 standard, Adobe 8.0 standard and pro, and Adobe 9.0 standard and pro. The problem I am having with a few of my end users is that when they receive an e-mail in Outlook 2003 with a pdf attachment from certain companies that we deal with in the insurance industry, they receive an error message saying they can not open the file...
"Can't create file:XXXXXXXX.pdf. Right click on the folder you want to create the file in, and then click Properties on the shortcut menu to check permission for the folder."
The strange part about this is they can forward the e-mail to another end user that may or may not be using the same version of Adobe as them, but the other end user has no problem opening and viewing the pdf attachment (also, if the company sending the e-mail sends the same e-mail to another end user who has no issues, they can open it with just fine) Now here is where it gets really strange... if the end user that can view the file saves the file to their hard drive, then sends it back as the same attachment in an e-mail back to the end user that could not open the file originally, now that end user can open and view the pdf attachment. I have three end users that this affecting and they each have a different version of Adobe Acrobat with all of the latest updates. I am stumped and searches so far have revealed no solutions...
    Any ideas?

The can only open it on their machine if they save the pdf attachment after renaming it. All computers on the network have the latest Outlook 2003 updates, so it puzzles me that only three end users with the same version of Outlook 2003, with the same updates, are not able to view the attachment from Outlook, but the other users can. Also, why do those three end users have to rename the file if the save it to the their computer to be able to view it, but no one else has to. And, it is not every pdf attachment either, just some from certain people that send them an e-mail. Really puzzling issue that I need to get resolved...

  • HTML in body issues/ Outlook 2003 displays HTML as attachement/PDFs

Hi, I have a requirement to use email bursting to send out a PDF with a UPS ARS return label in it. We also send out plan HTML update emails for BI Publisher that we want to appear in the body of the email.
I'm having two problems. Before we applied patch 9501440 (which replaces patch 6135146 for BI Publisher 5.6.3 on Oracle EBS 11i) my test PDF attachment emails came across as their body being in a file called bodyText.txt as an attachment. Applying the patch fixed this issue but now our regular HTML emails which should be in the body don't work properly when received from Outlook 2003 (which is the version we're on). The HTML appears as an attachment. There's another patch for this but it's bundled as the latest roll-up for the standalone XML Publisher Enterprise Edition so I don't think we can apply it. I've opened a SAR with Oracle but they so far do not have a solution.
Does anyone know of a solution for this problem? Also, is there a way to use a template for the HTML body and another template in the same email to produce a PDF attachment. We're concerned that rendering the shipping label in HTML may cause it to not format properly when printed by end users in the field.
I can't imagine that what we're trying to do is that out of the ordinary...
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

I have searched all over the net and I know it is probably an issue or setting with Outlook but though somebody may have seen this or at least know what is going on.
The email is sent but is just a link / attachment for Outlook users in the email body - no text etc. They have to open it up. Asked them to check for HTML settings.
    Anyone got any pointers.

  • Why did Acrobat Pro X slow down attaching pdfs in Outlook 2003?

I've unfortunately joined the club of slooooow attaching pdfs to Outlook 2003 after installing Acrobat Pro X.
I can send any attachment other than a pdf to Outlook 2003 and it sends instantly/normally. Since installing Acrobat Pro X 10.1.0 there's an instant lag as soon as I click the pdf to attach it. Outlook appears to freeze for several minutes and during this time I can work in other programs. Then all of a sudden, everything is normal and I can send the email, with pdf attached like normal.
I'm running Windows XP, Service pack 3 and everything else in the 5.5 suite is working fine.
There was some discussion in the Reader forum regarding the subject but I wasn't sure if the fixes described would apply to the full Acrobat program.

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
    View ▹ Show Log List

Click the Clear Display icon in the toolbar. Then try the action that you're having trouble with again. Select any messages that appear in the Console window. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.

  • Adobe pdfmaker 6.0 is missing in Outlook 2003

    Hi,
I have users running XP Pro with Office Small Business 2003 with SBS 2003 server.  I have some users at this point that doesn't have pdfmaker toolbar in their Outlook 2003 but appear in Word 2003.  We have Adobe Standard 6.0.  As per the user, they had it but now the pdfmaker is missing from outlook 2003.  However in the mean time they can print to Adobe PDF from "File" menu on top left and select "Print" then selecting "Adobe PDF" to email file to
pdf.  How can I enable or get the pdfmaker back on Outlook 2003.  Word and Excel have pdfmaker toolbar appear.
    I did the following steps:
I checked the disabled item and nothing was listed.  then I checked in "Add-In Manager" and "COM Add-Ins" and didn't see pdfmaker or something like that.  I even tried to add "PDFMOultook.dll" in "COM Add-Ins" from Adobe folder and that didn't get added.  Then I removed "OutlVisible" key or changed the data value to 0 and rebooted the PC.  But that didn't do anything, so I restore the registry that I backed up.  I even reinstalled Adobe Standard 6 and the whole office in the beginning.  Hope someone has another solution for this.
    Thanks,
    Ankur

  • Reader X: Attaching PDF to email in Outlook 2003

Since installing Reader X, it takes several minutes to attach a PDF to an email when using Outlook 2003 (installed on Windows XP SP3, with Outlook and Windows fully patched, running McAfee VirusScan for AV).
This occurs with any pdf document, regardless of size (all my tests have been on documents less than 70KB, attached from the local hard drive).  Attaching any other file format is unaffected and only takes a second.
This problem does not occur for anyone that is using Outlook 2010.
Can anyone advise what is causing this / how to fix?
    Thanks

The only solutions I have found are to either downgrade Adobe Reader to 9.3.4 or upgrade Office to at least 2007
Not really the best solutions - would prefer a proper fix.

Also there seems to be no obvious way to report Office bugs.  This is leaving little room for improvement.  Not sure if there has been any planning on this front???
For example, [MS Outlook] using the paste options randomly misses out text, (don't use it and use the 'Paste Special...' option instead).  But how do I communicate this to the Office team without knowing at least one of the team personally (which I
    don't)???

    Hi,
Do you have this issue when pasting in other programs?
If you are pasting something into Outlook, some formats and images may get lost, especially when you choose the Paste Options as Keep Text Only.
Once you have this issue again, please try with "Keep Source Formatting". This may keep the Sour Formatting and you may not get the text lost.
