Output noise on long takes

Hi there, I'm pretty new to this stuff, and this problem just cropped up yesterday.
I'm recording audio through a mixer desk and firewire interface to LE8, and on long takes I get a LOUD pounding hiss on the click track, beginning at bar 109 (3 minutes and change into the take). Everything works fine up to that point, and I'm not changing anything at all (my click track is set to click only on the count in).
If I'm monitoring via headphones, the hiss doesn't show up at all in the recording (which is one reason I think it's the click track), and the hiss is intermittent (coming in where the clicks would be if the click track were counting).
I'm using a Behringer mixer desk into an Edirol firewire interface, taking my monitor outputs direct from the interface rather than running back through the desk. I've tried shutting down the desk completely, and just running a recording track with no input, and I get the same hiss on bar 109.
I'm running on a new dual processor system, 4 gigs of RAM, with no connection to the net, and no third-party plugins or software installed. LE8 is running in its default settings, except for the change to the click track. I'm hearing no feedback or latency when the problem occurs.
Thanks for any help.

Ok, so goofing around with the interface did no good; the problem doesn't show up if the interface is disconnected though. What DID solve the issue was unchecking the "polyphonic clicks" box in the metronome settings (just turning off the metronome didn't help).
So, it looks like there is an unusual interaction taking place between the Edirol firewire interface and the polyphonic metronome.

I am getting some output noise from headphone output when AC power supply is connected.
Does not occur when running on battery only.
Need to clear this up as am using for DJ work.
    Any ideas appreciated.Drivers, filter?...?

i've had this problem for a couple of years now and a guy i know also has had this problem but for even longer and i am delighted to tell you that i've figured it out!!
my laptop was plugged in to a multiplug adaptor (just a standard extension) along with other things like my monitor and my amp etc., but also my tv. it has been faulty recently and i've had it unplugged for the past 24 hours to see if would make a difference. during these 24 hours i hadn't noticed that the sound had stopped, untill that is, i plugged the tv back in! it's simply due to one of the other devices. try the laptop direct into the socket or at least on it's own in the extesion.
hope this works for you too!

  • Job output is no longer available in the database control file

Im running my rman backup with Oracle Enterprise manager grid control 10.2.0.1.
    In nocatalog mode.
When I look for the job output in the "View Backup Report" section, it says
Job output is no longer available in the database control file.
    Here is my rman setup:

using target database control file instead of recovery catalog
    RMAN configuration parameters are:

The backup is usually the last one. And it's the day before.
If i go to the JOB tab in oem, then click on the job detail, i can see the detail of my rman backup. But i cannot see the backup detail in the View Backup Report section off the database. It says the error message : Job output is no longer available in the database control file

The only way you can do that is to import them into your library first, but you may have done that already.
The easiest way to tell is to select a photo from the photostream album in iPhoto and ctrl-click on it, if it gives you the option to import it isn't in your iPhoto library, if it offers you the option to show in library it has already been imorted.

  • Output is no longer available in the database control file

    Hi All
in Oracle 10g (10.2.0.1.0) - on suse Linux 9, OEM (10.2.0.1.0); I'm getting when I try to look at RMAN reports that databases reports are "Job output is no longer available in the database control file." - one one database.
I've searched forum and only found one thread
    (25/9/2007 - Re: rman backups )
that doesn't have any conclusion to the problem. Has anyone seen this problem before, and do you know if it means there is a problem with the control file?
    Thanks, DW

    Looks like Bug 4659734
    I totally agree with what you say grylew "If you use rman catalogue you shouldn't get this error"; for me, on a Suse 9 Linux server (10.2.0.1.0 db), the error eventually found was ORA-19921 ;
RMAN-06900: WARNING: unable to generate V$RMAN_STATUS or V$RMAN_OUTPUT row
RMAN-06901: WARNING: disabling update of the V$RMAN_STATUS and V$RMAN_OUTPUT rows
    ORACLE error from target database:
ORA-19921: maximum number of 64 rows exceeded
Which turns out to say it is a bug fixable by only 10.2.0.4.0 patch or 11g. So awaiting 10.2.0.4.0 I guess.
It all seems to be error assocaited with control file space; and I'f rather keep my control files healthy thanks.
Besides all this; for me the problem is pretty innocuous; it means OEM mis-reports success of archivelog backups; I can see they're successful in 'job's but not in 'backup reports'.
    Thanks all for help, DW

  • Output columns too long

    Hi,
I've a join over two tables with about 150 columns. This was never a problem.
Now I have two MAXDB databases from two customers (7.6.06.03). In one of them my statement says "output columns too long", running the same application on the second db works fine.
    Any ideas?
I guess there is a problem with maximum record length of about 8000 bytes. Can this be extended in any way?
    Any help will be appreciated.

Hmm.. this sounds a bit odd.
Do you use prepared statements in your application?
Concerning the change of limitations, just compare the documentation

@Lars Breddemann: do you suggest to move to 7.7? Are there any problems? How do i the update?
    Yes, absolutely.
7.7 has been out for years now and it's pretty stable.
To perform the upgrade, I'd go for simply using SDBSETUP.
Alternatively you may use SDBUPD (textbased interface).
Ok, now you've got a project for the early days in 2011
    Have a nice holiday season!

Bridge CS5 "output templates" no longer loads after my system back-up; the output panel is blank.
The other Workspace features appear to be functional.
What/Where is the  output script supposed to be?

If it worked before and you have changed nothing I would reset the preferences.  Close Bridge then hold down the CTRL key and start Bridge.  You should get a reset window with 3 optons.

how long take to activation of facetime ?

Oh it gets worse.  Originally I was told my new address didn't have Infinity so I would be recieving a Hub 3 for normal broadband.  After spending 2 1/2 hours on the phone on Monday and speaking to several different people within BT I am told that the reason the hub wasn't delivered was that my new home does have fibre cables for Infinity.  Therefore they had cancelled the order for the hub as they assumed I would plug my existing Hub 5 in and use it.  What they absolutely failed to do was to tell me this wasting 5 weeks of my time, frustration, phone calls and emails.  the next day I recieved a home hub 3 in the post!!!!  what I hadn't got was the correct socket on the wall for infinity and I tried to explain, but clearly failed, was that I needed either the socket changing (two BT department advisors couldn't get their head around this one) or I needed a filter to plug into the existing standard socket.  One didn't arrive with the hub 3 so I went out and bought one from ASDA.  I was told that I would recieve a call yesterday to arange for the engineers vist.  they were just going to book a date and time for a visit but I explained that like most people I worked and therefore that is where you would normally find me during the day.  I'm still waiting for that call....
anyway I plugged my Hub 5 in and hey presto in works.  The Mbps speed is absolutely rock bottom, 1.82Mbps, nothin like the 38MBps that Infinity should provide but at least I'm connected to the 20th century.  I waiting a while to see if the speed climbs up to the expected speed over the next few days before I waste another 2.5 hours on the phone to BT trying to get my point across and being told a load of twaddle.

I can no longer take photos with my I pad retina display 4th gen without them turning out blurry from any movement. I was once able to get crisp clear photos without barely focusing. Now they are fuzzy, blurry and really stink! Can someone from Apple please tell me what happened? I hate my Ipad and will try Microsoft next. Facebook will be my next inquiry to raise a stink there to see how many other hate their Ipad NOW,!!!,

No one here is from Apple, but the standard troubleshooting steps to try are reset, restore, restore as new. First, try a reset and see if that helps: hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until you see the apple, then let go.
