Outputting Currency Values Based on Customer Location

Hi All,
Has anyone had any experience of changing the thousand's separator on a currency value based on the customer location rather than the user logon.
For example if the user logs on in German one thousand Euro will be output as:
1.000
But if they log on in English it will come out as:
1,000
Is it possible to change a smartform to output the thousand separator based on the customer country rather than the user logon.
For example if the user logs on in German and wants to send an invoice to England the value should come out as:
1,000
Many thanks for any help, points awarded.
Regards,
Colm

Hi,
You can use the Write to Option to convert the decimal place depends on the customer location,
WRITE: Currency_field to Cust_Curency_field.
Cust_Curency_field is a charecter type field and Currency_field is the type of currency

• Display 0valstckval based on storage location (Inventory)

Hi all,
I need to display 0valstckval in webi report based on storage location. Now this valuated stock value comes from revaluations (2lis_03_um) and can be send at the report level based on plants but not on storage location. I know this is how the standard process is. Is there any way we can report the val stock value based on storage location in report?
Thanks

Hi
You need Append the structure for the UM Datasources and you write the code and can retrieve based on STOR_LOC.
BTW, are you not using Datasource BF-Material movements for Inventory?

• Conditional Plan Task Based on Customer Value

Trigger Task in Plan that will route a service ticket to a different group based on Customer field
I have a hardware request form. I would like to route the task to a group based on the location of the customer. Our company has approx 147 distinct locations and the request for a hardware request will get routed to approx 20 different Tier 2 groups based on the customer's location.
First off, I am not using Request Center for service delivery. I am using a servicelink agent to route a ticket to HP Service Desk. I was planning on using the conditionals in the plan and create a 20 tasks for each Tier 2 group I need to route to. The conditionals would look like this:
Service.Data.Customer_Information.Location_Code = "ATLNTA1100" OR Service.Data.Customer_Information.Location_Code = "AUSTIN7600" OR Service.Data.Customer_Information.Location_Code = "BIRMIN3595"
The problem is that the conditional section only allows for up to 255 characters. There are 25+ locations that would route to one of the Tier 2 groups.
Can someone think of a different way I could route this?

We are doing something similar to Joshua. In our environment, every user has a location code tied to their HR record, which we pull in through a directory integration.
when ordering, there is a DDR on the form that looks up the location code in a SQL server table we have created. In that table, addition to the site logistics, like street, city, stat, country and zip, we also have columns for various performer roles that exist, like desktop support, blackberry support, phone support, desktop purchasing, etc. We pull that back into the form and then let the customer override and validate a different location if they need something for a different location.
We have about 2000 location codes in our system to support our 50,000 employees, many of which are just different parts of a floor or floors in a building. We set the performer roles to the queue name that gets the work(we are using Service manager for Fulfillment). so, we have one task, but it route to a performer based on an expression, which is the looked-up value for that support function.
that enables us to change routing or add locations via data changes in SQL rather than Catalog deploying a new version of a service or writing a massive client-side javascript. We've been using this for about 3 months and it works very well.

• Set Default Value based on Field from another table for a custom object

I'm trying to set the default value on a custom object field to the value of an account field. I have tried the syntax 50 different ways, and just am getting no where. The account field label displays as DBA, the integration tag is ltDBA_ACCT, and it shows up in reporting fx area as Account.Text_22.
The custom object field I'm triying to update is also called DBA, which was originally the "NAME" required field. Does the table name, Account, have to be included? Do I need a function in front of the field?
I have been updating the external ID using the row ID with syntex
(Less than ID greater than) so I know it is possible to set the Default Value, but <DBA>, <ltDBA_ACCT>, "Account"."DBA", and so on just don't not work.
If anyone knows how to enter this I'd really appreciate the help.

Ok, so if you want to default a field to the value from another object, you have to use the JoinFieldValue function. I think you understand that, based on your original post, but I want to be sure that you do.
Next, this will only work as a default if the record is created from the object that you wish to join on because a default works at record creation and the ID needs to be available for it to work properly. It will not work if you choose the related object record after the custom object record is created. You could set the value as a post-default, but that does not seem to meet your requirements.
The syntax for the Default Value would be as follows: JoinFieldValue(ref_record_type, foreign_key, field_name).
In your case, ref_record_type is '<Account>', foreign_key is [<AccountId>], and field_name is '<YourFieldName>'. The best way to determine what the field name is would be to create a new workflow for Account and use the Workflow Rule Condition expression builder to pick your field ("DBA") from the list. The value that is returned by the expression builder should be placed in the field_name variable in the JoinFieldValue function (minus the brackets and in single quotes).
Give this a shot and let me know how you do.

• Automatic Storage Location determination based on Customer in SO Creation

Hi Guru,
We have the scenario where some customer goods need to be out from the bonded WH, and Some customer will always take the goods from General WH, can i know if there is a way to maintain the default storage location based on which customer?
Thank you very much,
Regards,
Chee Wee

Dear Chee Wee,
First, Storage location will not be defaulted in Sales order with std system settings. Still if you want to automate storage location , you have to use exist.
Include: MV45AFZB
Form Exit: USEREXIT_CHECK_VBAP
Based on Customer you can bypass sales process ( whether goods can procure externally or produce internally),
but not default the storage location based on Customer.

• Can We generate Check report based on Custom Dimension in FDM

Hi All,
We got a requirement in our project to generate the check report based on custom dimension. As far as i know the check reports that got generated in FDM are based on Entity Dimension.
So, will you please let me know whether it is possible to generate report based on any one of the custom dimension.
Thanks.

I guess I am not understanding the question here?
The check report is based on the location/entity that you are running the report for. You can pull values for a specific intersection in the target application with the check report, so you could specify the custom dim in the intersection.

• User wants to get the cumulative values based on his input.

Hi
I am working one FI Report; the out put values are Cumulative values for Current, Previous years. I developed and it fetches the data last 3 years Cumulative year’s data without any input FYMonth based on SAPexits and varible offsets. But user wants to put Fiscal year Month as input. So he wants get the cumulative values based on his input. For example, If his input SEP'2005(062005), Then Query gives the Output Cumulative Value (I.e., Sum of Total values of Form APR'2005 to SEP'2005)
Please provide the solution…
Thanks
Mannev

Mannev,
You can try doing this.
1. If the user input is fiscal period(2005006) , you can create a customer exit variable which will take the user value (i_step =2), and change the variable value to 20005001. (this is a simple code where tye last 2 digits are replaced by 01).
if the user is entering calmonth, you can use FM - DATE_TO_PERIOD_CONVERT, to convert the month to fiscal period.
2. You can create a rkf with restrictions on time char based on the customer exit variable and the user entered variable.

Hi Satish or Baskaran,
First conform in which format the flat file is present, as abhi mentioned if it is there in notepad
try to use F.M GUI_UPLOAD as shown below...
CALL FUNCTION 'GUI_UPLOAD'
EXPORTING
FILENAME = 'C:\Desktop\rpf1.TXT'
TABLES
DATA_TAB =  ITAB.
Now loop at ITAB Into Work_area and press the respect currency fields which you want and in the same way
if the file is in EXCEL format use F.M ALSM_EXCEL_TO_INTERNAL_TABLE
CALL FUNCTION 'ALSM_EXCEL_TO_INTERNAL_TABLE'
EXPORTING
filename = P_FNAME
i_begin_col = 1
i_begin_row = 1
TABLES

• Right Align the Currency values in ALV report

Hi Friends,
I have developed a report and displayed the output using the ALV. I have columns for currency values in the output table.
The fields for currency values are character fields. The values in the table for display, is properly right aligned (default for currency values). But in the output, the currency values are left aligned.
Since I need blank lines in the output table after each entry, I have used the character fields in the output table so that I can clear them and append it to get the blank line.
Please suggest me to get the currency values right aligned.
Thanks in advance.

try with this field in field catalog.
just(1)        type c,        " (R)ight (L)eft (C)ent.
for the currency field add this field too in field catalog. it will work.

• Report based on custom Query - Question about Data Source

Hello,
I am trying to create Crystal reports (EBO R3.1, Oracle 11g Database, CR2008) based on custom queries. Tried using different kinds of Data Sources but getting stuck once I export them to Infoview.
1. Using Oracle Server: This method works fine on my local & Infoview. But since I have lot of reports, I do not want the DB username/password associated to the report. I neither want BO to prompt username/pwd to my user.
2. Using ODBC(RDO):
Again, works fine on my local. Once I export to Infoview, it fails with this error: "Failed to open the connection"
Which makes sense, because the DSN is created on my local machine and not on the server.
How and what do I create on the server, so that the reports run?
I do not know if using ODBC(RDO) is even the right way for creating custom SQL reports.
I have been reading about Business Views, but not clear on how good they work.
My goal is to create multiple reports, using custom SQL queries which use some kind of connection to the database that can be managed on the
server in one place, and used by multiple reports.
Can any of you please help me here
Thanks,
Sowmya.

Thanks for moving it to the right forum!!
But, if I setup in CMC, a default username/password that the report needs....what would happen if my password changes?
I would need to go to each and every report and update the password.
I am looking for using one common "connection" for multiple reports. So that, when passwords change, all I update is in one central location.
Can anyone please help!
Thanks,

• Display Currency Value of User POV for Entity & Value in Text Box (Header)

I am looking for a function in Financial Reporting Studio that operates the same as the HsCurrency function in Smart View. This would allow batch reports displaying the currency value of the User POV for Entity based on the User POV for Value. Right now I have to have Member Lists for separate reports and different currencies as I am only able to display the Value dimension in the heading of a given report. Users will not be certain of the currency if the Value dimension is <Entity Curr Total>.
I tried the HFMCurrency text function, however the entity is not defined in a Row / Column / Page reference as the entity is determined by the User's Point of View.
Is there a way to display the currency value of a User's Point of View for Entity based on the User's Point of View for Value?
Reference from Oracle Hyperion Smart View for Office, Fusion Edition, User's Guide:
HsCurrency
Data sources: Financial Management, Hyperion Enterprise
HsCurrency retrieves the currency value of the specified dimension member. Entity and Value are the only valid members for the HsCurrency function.
Syntax
HsCurrency (“Connection,Entity;Value”)
Example
In this example, HsCurrency retrieves the entity currency where the currency for the East Sales entity is USD, and the currency for the UKSales entity is GBR. The EastSales entity displays USD, and UKSales displays GBR.
HsCurrency(“Comma”,”Entity#EastRegion.EastSales;Value#<Entity Currency>.”)
HsCurrency(“Comma”,”Entity#EastRegion.UKSales;Value#<Entity Currency>.”)

• [ADF BC] Showing a list of values based on the contents of another list

I have tried to make a simplified example to illustrate what I want to do. Here is a picture of my example schema:
Example Schema Image
There are three entity tables: Employee, Department and Location.
There are also two intersection tabels: Employee_Location and Department_Location.
My ADF BC model layer is based on this schema.
What I am trying to do is have a creation process for an employee where you first fill in the employee details (forname and surname), then you assign the employee to a department, then - based on the locations assigned to the department - assign one or more locations to the employee.
Imagine that the employee is a door-to-door salesman and that each department in is company has several areas of a town that they cover (locations). Each employee will cover a subset of the locations that the department covers.
The first two steps are easy - the details page can be created using a form on the employee view and the department assignment can be done with a list of values drop down on the departments view.
The third step is a little more complex. You can use a shuttle to assign one or more locations to the employee, but you shouldn't just show a list of all locations, since some of these will not be covered by the department and therefore not be available to the employee. What I want is only the locations associated with the employee's department to appear in the list.
So my question is how do I model this using ADF Business Components?
Also, if an employee is allowed to be assigned to more than one department (adding another intersection table between the employee and department tables), how would I model that?

Hi,
For your reference variable name should be simply any name i.e resorts_resort.No need to put @ in front when declaring variable and to refer presentation variable you should use the below syntax
@{Variable_name}{Default_value} where default_value is some default value you want to give.
Now coming to your problem you can fulfill your requirement by simply checking constrain checkbox.If you choose all values instaed of SQL results constrain checkbox will appear.Approach followed by you should also work but constrain is an easy option.
Thanks

• In XML Output the values of Number column tags are not displayed properly

Hi,
Our Client have been using AR Invoice Print Program for a long time and it is heavily customized. Also they are using an old version of the RDF. So we have taken the latest version of the RDF (RAXINV.rdf) for Oracle Apps 11.5.10.2 by raising a SR and implement Client's old RAXINV.rdf into it.
All was ok, but when we are running the program, the XML Output did not generate properly. For the Q_INVOICE query (G_ORDER_BY, G_INVOICE and G_INV_TERM group), the value of some of the scaler number columns are not appeared properly. The tags are coming correctly, but the value is appearing as '*', instead of the correct value. We have checked in the RDF Level (By putting srw.message and check in the log file) that those columns are having proper value. So there is no issue with the RDF.
But because of the above mentioned problem, the some of the PDF output field values also is not generated correctly.
I think that because of the lexical parameters which was implementing the Q_INVOICE query (&COMMON_QUERY) this issue is coming. Because the issue is only in the Q_INVOICE query group (G_ORDER_BY, G_INVOICE and in G_INV_TERM group) not in any other query group.
There is no problem with the scaler character columns. The issue is only with the number columns.
Also we have checked that if we hardcode the value of the number columns in the above mentioned lexical parameter, this problem doesn't appear.
If we put TO_CHAR function to those number columns in the lexical parameter (COMMON_QUERY), then this issue get solved. But we can't do it because of performance issue and also Client won't approve it.
Please help.
With Thanks and Regards

I don't know how to read the code you pasted or I would have checked this myself.
Do your fields in the internal table reference dictionary objects or elementary types? If not using dictionary types, the column names will be blank by default. If you can't change your fields to be dictionary types, you can try this to change the column names:
I made a method inside my local class to add the names:
call method set_colname
EXPORTING iv_tab = alv_tab
iv_colid = 'xxxx' "fieldname from the table
iv_stxt = text-t54
iv_mtxt = text-t55
iv_ltxt = text-t55.
METHOD set_colname .
data:
alv_cols type REF TO cl_salv_columns_table,
alv_col type REF TO cl_salv_column.
TRY .
*... Change fieldnames
call METHOD iv_tab->get_columns RECEIVING value = alv_cols.
call method alv_cols->get_column EXPORTING columnname = iv_colid RECEIVING value = alv_col.
IF iv_stxt <> ''.
CALL METHOD alv_col->set_short_text EXPORTING value = iv_stxt.
ENDIF.
IF iv_mtxt <> ''.
CALL METHOD alv_col->set_medium_text EXPORTING value = iv_mtxt.
ENDIF.
IF iv_ltxt <> ''.
CALL METHOD alv_col->set_long_text EXPORTING value = iv_ltxt.
ENDIF.
CATCH cx_salv_not_found.
ENDTRY.
ENDMETHOD. "set_colname

• Preaggregation across value based hierarchy dimension in 11g

Hi All,
I have created a cube with 6 dimensions in olap 11g. One of those six dimensions has only one hierarchy which is value based hierarchy. I have chosen level based aggregation as I know at what levels exactly users are going to query. When I was going through the dimensions to choose levels to preaggregate I noticed there were no options available for my value based hierarchy dimension ( I could see "all" option for the same case in 10g) then I tried to look for definitions of underlying objects just to make sure it will preaggregate data across my value based hierarchy dimension.
I found value set corresponding to my value based hierarchy dimension in <CUBE NAME>SOLVEAGGMAP object , which AWM uses to decide which dimension values to preaggregate but if I do rpr on that value set (rp r<CUBE NAME>SOLVE<DIMENSION NAME>_PVSET) it shows NA so my question is can I pre aggregate across value based hierarchy dimension in olap 11g?
Olap Version: 11.2.0.1
AWM version: 11.2.0.1
Thanks

Even if you know exactly which levels your users will query, percent based precompute (e.g. 30%) may still be faster in practice because queries are returned using 'sparse looping' instead of 'dense looping'. This was the single biggest performance advantage of 11g over 10g.
But if you still want to use level based precompute, then you should look at the XML template for the cube (as saved by AWM, for example). In it you should find something called PrecomputeCondition. This defines the set of members that are precomputed. Here is an example I just created using the GLOBAL schema
<PrecomputeCondition>

"TIME" LEVELS ("TIME"."MONTH", "TIME".CALENDAR_QUARTER, "TIME".CALENDAR_YEAR),
CHANNEL LEVELS (CHANNEL.TOTAL_CHANNEL, CHANNEL.CHANNEL),
CUSTOMER LEVELS (CUSTOMER.MARKET_SEGMENT, CUSTOMER.REGION, CUSTOMER.SHIP_TO),
PRODUCT LEVELS (PRODUCT.CLASS, PRODUCT.FAMILY, PRODUCT.ITEM)
</PrecomputeCondition>The PrecomputeCondition is also visible through the USER_CUBES view.
SELECT PRECOMPUTE_CONDITION
FROM USER_CUBES
WHERE CUBE_NAME = 'MY_CUBE';You can hand modify this condition in the XML to specify an alternative 'non level based' precompute condition for any dimension. For example, if you define an attribute named 'SHOULD_PRECOMPUTE' on your PRODUCT dimension that is 1 for members to be precomputed and 0 for all others, then you can change the condition as follows.
<PrecomputeCondition>

"TIME" LEVELS ("TIME"."MONTH", "TIME".CALENDAR_QUARTER, "TIME".CALENDAR_YEAR),
CHANNEL LEVELS (CHANNEL.TOTAL_CHANNEL, CHANNEL.CHANNEL),
CUSTOMER LEVELS (CUSTOMER.MARKET_SEGMENT, CUSTOMER.REGION, CUSTOMER.SHIP_TO),
PRODUCT WHERE PRODUCT.SHOULD_PRECOMPUTE = 1
</PrecomputeCondition>If you recreate the cube from the XML with this condition, then the PVSET valueset you discovered should contain all dimension members for which the attribute value is 1. This gives you complete control over what is precomputed. Note that AWM doesn't support this form of condition, so it won't show up if you go to the Precompute tab, but it is valid for the server. The PL/SQL below will modify the PrecomputeCondition (for the cube named MYCUBE) without going through AWM.
begin
dbms_cube.import_xml(q'!
