Overlib images dissapear under Flash movie

Hi all,
Total noob with flash.
I have some thumbnail images on my page, when you mouse over
the images an overlib pops up with the full image. Not far above
the thubmnails is a flash header, when the overlib images pop up
part of them is going underneath the flash movie.
Any ideas on how I can prevent this?
I have tried replacing the flash movie with an image of the
same size and it all works fine then so I know its not a layout
issue.

The reason this happens is because Flash is an example of
so-called
Active Content. Flash movies aren't actually *in* the HTML
page in which
they're embedded, they just look that way. The <object>
or <embed> tags in
the HTML tell the browser to launch an instance of the Flash
Player at
thus-and-such dimensions in this area of the document, and
the Flash Player
and browser work together to give the illusion that the SWF
is a part of the
page.

The only way to affect this issue involves an often buggy
feature called
WMODE.

Space under flash movies

Hi All,
I am having an annoying problem: when I use swfobject code to embed flash movies, it leaves a space under the movie that breaks the design. This happens when viewing it in Chrome or Firefox (on a mac), but not in Safari. I have found that when I just paste in the <object> code alone
created when I publish the movie out of flash into my HTML document, the space disappears. I have tried removing all line breaks and extra spaces
from the swfobject code to no avail. This also happens when I add the movie in using Dreamweaver CS4 (insert->media->swf) , which uses
swfobject.

I would like to be able to use swfobject to provide alternate content for

Gap under flash movie in Firefox

Hi all,
A site im developing shows a gap under the flash movie in firefox.

I dont get the problem using the other method of embedding that i used on

the problem with using this method across the site is that i am using flexipanels on these pages and they wont display the flash movie when the flexipanels are on the same page

So i guess the answer may be in how the flash is embedded in dreamweaver but after much searching on the web i cant find any solution.
Any help will be gratefully received.

Check to be sure that you have the correct Flash plugin
installed. You obvioiusly have the correct activeX control
installed.

An image in a flash movie

I want to modify an image in flash without make again the
animation. Is it possible.
This is my situation: I download a template. But i want to
odify, in a flash mvoie, an image.When i try to click on modify in
PhotoED a message apear and it says : " Image not fond in

Thank you for getting back to me. Yes i am using a timeline tween. I have an image on my stage which moves in from one side and out the other side. I am trying to stop or pause the image. The effect i will be asked to reproduce in my exam will be something very much like the banner on the website http://www,iactweb.com. If you go to this website you will see images arrive on the banner and pause before exiting the other side. I am fairly up to speed on all the aspects of getting this effect but i have forgotten what i learned during the course on how stop or pause the images. I am using the trial cs5.5 version of flash . The new version of Adobe Flash Player 11.5.502.110 does not display images in the flash movie.

In the new version of Adobe Flash Player 11.5.502.110 the images are not displayed. In previous versions they are displayed. Tested on several computers. This is not a local problem. This is a problem of Adobe. The bad news is that the early versions are very hard to find and reinstall it.
Many different systems tested. And all browsers.
Now there is no big image.

hi i have noticed the same problem. also with Chrome and FP ver 11.5.31.2and Firefox and Safari with FP 11.5.502.110
it seems that MovieClipLoader class not returning onLoadInit event. I use to add a fadein function on loadInit to fade in the loaded images. with the latest Flash PLayer versions this is not activated so you cannot see the loaded images.
I have tested this on 3 different systems and the problem is the same. I have not updated my FP for IE. There, the older FP still works well.

How do i make an image pause in a flash movie clip

Please can someone help me. I am trying to find out how to pause or stop an image in a basic flash movie clip, after it has entered from one side and before it exits the other side.
I have been trying to work it out myself for three days but no joy. I am practicing for a test with a training agency which gave me a disk to use but nowhere in it does it say how this is done. I am also having a lot of difficulty making stop start buttons work with this movie clip. I am using a trial cs5.5 version of Flash which expires in 7 days so i need to know this soon. I am up to speed on most of the features, its just this one thing that has me stumped. A lot of the tutorials or examples i have found on the net are very long winded and hard to follow exactly. Could someone let me know, step by step the sequence i should follow after i have created an object and made it go from one side of the stage to the other.

Flash movies in image-control

When I load different flash movies in the same image-control
(e.g. via a button-click), the browser-cursor starts switching from
a busy-cursor (the little round clock-cursor) to an arrow (or
hand)-cursor intermittingly, without stopping.
When I load the same movie over the existing one in the
image-control this does not happen.
Seems like I have to unload the old movie first? I don't know
how to do that.
Any suggestions are welcome.

Spry navigation bar covers flash movie beneath it but not the jpg image, why?

i have a spry navigation bar with a flash movie underneath,
and when i hover over the navbar and the submenu pops down it
covers the flash movie, but it doesn't cover the .jpg image that is
next to the flash movie. how can i fix this? thanks.

embedding available since the 8.0.2 update.

Issue with border around submenu when a flash movie is under it

I've searched the forum and although I found posts about flash movies covering spry menu items, I couldn't find this exact thing.
I have a spry menu with a submenu which has a 1px solid border around it. On the pages linked to by the submenu items, I have flash movies. For pages where the flash movie is down far enough so that it is not overlapped by the submenu, everything looks great. However, on those pages where the submenu overlaps the flash movie, the border around the submenu is not visible on one side and is offset about a pixel on the other side. This is only happening in Firefox 3.6.18 Every other browser I've tried works. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Two flash movies index problem while in different div

hi,
i have created a page and i use peelawayad file which is in
flash. i was already using two div on home page which contains
flash movies. but now when i placed peelawayad flash movie on home
page. it appears on bottom of both div layers. i tired my best with
stylesheet. z-index and many other tricks which i know best. but
still not able to sucess. can someone help me to getride of this
issue. help would be appriciated. thanks

Actually the problem is -
For portrait dimensions are -
width 20
height 30
for landscape , obviously it will be
width - 30
height - 20
Thus , for second page - table width is 20 while page width is 30 and so 10 cm space remains blank on right side of page
user says that right side should not be blank, rather you extend table width to whole page width.
thats where the problem is

Export flash movie to play on domestic DVD

I need to create a Flash movie with a spinning logo on a
bitmap background that can be played for at least an hour on a DVD
player through a regular widescreen flat panel TV . I can easily
make the flash movie and make it loop, but I have no idea how to
make it run on a DVD player for the TV nor what resolution will be
required.
Can any one please help me?

be sure, your iM project is located in the 'Movies' folder of your Mac.
Launch iDVD
choose a Theme
click on Media/Movies
drop project into window...
choose 'create image' under file...
be sure, 10 - 15 GB of free disk space still avail on your internal harddrive...
wait...
wait longer...
double click on created img file..
launch Toast (or Disk Utility)
'copy' the mounted (virtual) DVD onto a dvd-r ...
... should work, should play on PCs (Windows needs an additional DVDplayer app! Windows-out-of-the-box does NOT play standard videoDVDs.. )

Problems inserting flash movie into webpage

I am trying to insert 2 different flash movies on one webpage
One is a banner made in flash cs4 that works fine.
The other is a movie that I encoded with flash cs4 from a m4v file. When i test this file using the flash player on my computer everything works fine.
When i try to play on the webpage it shows there is flash object in dreamweaver but is blank in webbrowser.(right clicking shows there is flash there but nothing loads)
I have managed to get the movie working on a completly blank html file except that there are no controls (controls work fine in the flash player on computer)
As far as I can deduce it's not the html file because one swf file works ok
It's not how i'm inserting it onto the page because dreamweaver is doing it for me(and including the nessecary javascript etc)
It's not the movie because that works in the flash player on it's own.
So i'm stumped
any ideas guys?

I'm sorry I missunderstood the post from earlier. If I add the flv file in dreamweaver and upload the corresponding swf all works well but the flv file is 45mb which is a bit large for a 3 min video.
What i would like to do is turn this into a swf file. But this is where the problem is happening. THe swf when i export from flash wont work, comes up in the browser as doesn't load

Create a scaling flash movie

I want to create a xml image gallery using flash. My problem
is that I do not know how to create the movie in such a way that it
takes up all the space within its containing box (div). (It should
fill the horizontal space of the monitor.) At the same time it
would be great if the height adjusts itself to be in the format
16:9.
Is this possible?

In the file menu, there is an option called "publish
settings" that allows you to decide how your project will be
published. Under the html tab you can select plenty of options that
will show up in a HTML file along with your project. While this is
probably not what you want entirely, the code inside that file
might help you.

another button, and a different flash movie plays in the same
spot.
The challenge is the interaction between Dreamweaver and
Flash and getting HTML to talk to Flash.

How do I display a live webpage (live data feed) as part of my looping flash movie.

G'Day All, I've been tasked with creating a flash movie for a client (3 scenes, some text and images) simple enough, the challenge is one of the scenes needs to display a live page from a locally hosted website (it's a graphic display of a live data feed from a solar panel array on the roof). What I need to know is how do I set up the flash file to display the live page as one of the scenes of my looping movie? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers, Ben.
