Overriding a String Resource using iDoc or Java

The GET_ZIP_BUNDLE service by default generate zip file with name "Bundle.zip"  due to the localization string entry 'csZipRenditionBundleName' in Zip Rendition component.
I wanted to change this name runtime in the given format "BC_YYYY_MM_DD.zip", where YYYY, MM, DD represents the year, month and date of the current date.
Can anyone guide me how to move ahead with this requirement?

You can use one of the following options to generate the date & time and assign it to the string.
1. <$CURRENT_DATE$>
2. dateCurrent()
     <$dateCurrent()$>
3. formatDateOnly()
     <$formatDateOnly(dateCurrent())$>
4. formatDateOnlyFull()
     <$formatDateOnlyFull(dateCurrent())$>
Refer - http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E28280_01/doc.1111/e26694/idoc_script_reference.htm#CIAEHHIB
You should be able to achieve the format using the above scripts or combination of them. Let me know if you still have issues.

  • How to Use IDOC in Java Mapping?

    Hello -
    1. How can i use an IDOC to map to an xml file using Java mapping in an IDOC -> XI -> XML file scenario?
    2. How can i test this scenario outside XI, i mean using Eclipse?
    3. How can i create a test data for IDOC for the above scenario in XML format to test it using Java program?
    Thanks,

    Hi,
    <i>***1. How can i use an IDOC to map to an xml file using Java mapping in an IDOC -> XI -> XML file scenario?</i>
    It will be a direct xml to xml mapping. Is your requirement requires Java Mapping? Otherwise you can easily do without that - check this-
    Is there simply way to map an idoc to an flatfile?
    <i>***2. How can i test this scenario outside XI, i mean using Eclipse?</i>
    You need to have XML input for this. Just try to get the IDoc XML or create xml input based on the Idoc Structure. You can make use of  WE60 to get  IDOC xsd .
    <i>***3. How can i create a test data for IDOC for the above scenario in XML format to test it using Java program?</i>
    Go to Tcode WE19 in the R/3 and generate the outbound Idoc . And then use that xml ( for question no 2). as a test data to test independently.
    Hope this helps..

  • Search given string array and replace with another string array using Regex

    Hi All,
    I want to search the given string array and replace with another string array using regex in java
    for example,
    String news = "If you wish to search for any of these characters, they must be preceded by the character to be interpreted"
    String fromValue[] = {"you", "search", "for", "any"}
    String toValue[] = {"me", "dont search", "never", "trip"}
    so the string "you" needs to be converted to "me" i.e you --> me. Similarly
    you --> me
    search --> don't search
    for --> never
    any --> trip
    I want a SINGLE Regular Expression with search and replaces and returns a SINGLE String after replacing all.
    I don't like to iterate one by one and applying regex for each from and to value. Instead i want to iterate the array and form a SINGLE Regulare expression and use to replace the contents of the Entire String.
    One Single regular expression which matches the pattern and solve the issue.
    the output should be as:
    If me wish to don't search never trip etc...,
    Please help me to resolve this.
    Thanks In Advance,
    Kathir

    As stated, no, it can't be done. But that doesn't mean you have to make a separate pass over the input for each word you want to replace. You can employ a regex that matches any word, then use the lower-level Matcher methods to replace the word or not depending on what was matched. Here's an example: import java.util.*;
    import java.util.regex.*;
    public class Test
      static final List<String> oldWords =
          Arrays.asList("you", "search", "for", "any");
      static final List<String> newWords =
          Arrays.asList("me", "dont search", "never", "trip");
      public static void main(String[] args) throws Exception
        String str = "If you wish to search for any of these characters, "
            + "they must be preceded by the character to be interpreted";
        System.out.println(doReplace(str));
      public static String doReplace(String str)
        Pattern p = Pattern.compile("\\b\\w+\\b");
        Matcher m = p.matcher(str);
        StringBuffer sb = new StringBuffer();
        while (m.find())
          int pos = oldWords.indexOf(m.group());
          if (pos > -1)
            m.appendReplacement(sb, "");
            sb.append(newWords.get(pos));
        m.appendTail(sb);
        return sb.toString();
    } This is just a demonstration of the technique; a real-world solution would require a more complicated regex, and I would probably use a Map instead of the two Lists (or arrays).

  • Data transfer b/w SAP to Java using IDOC and Interface SAP Jco

    Dear Experts,
    The challenging requirement we are having is, we need to create the interface for data transfer between SAP system and the Java system. The data will be transferred from SAP to java and similarly once some processing done in Java again the details needs to be transferred from Java to SAP.
    For this data transferred we are planning to use IDOC process and for interface "SAP Java connector (Version 3.0.5)" we are planning to use. As per our understanding, from Java side one program needs to be written to connect with SAP as "Registered program". This registered program will appear in SAP GATEWAY automatically and using tRFC, TCP/IP connection both SAP and Java system will be connected.
    In this case we are having some doubts.
    1. The data from SAP is going to be transfered from one Custom transaction (Z tcode). Once "Outbound IDOC" will get triggered and will carry the details. Now the doubt is, whether the data / details will get transfered to JAVA system automatically or we need to perform any other steps from SAP ABAP coding...(like converting in to flat file, XML file and etc) ??
    2. We are planning to install "SAP Jco" in Java server. Is this correct...??
    3. Other than SAP Jco any other softwares needs to be installed or not..??
    4. Since we are going to trigger the "outbound IDOC" from custom transaction, we are planning to develope one program in SE37. Other than this any other program we need to develop or not..??
    5. Any sample Java program for the SAP Jco version 3.0.5 to create the "Registered program" with SAP..? (e.g. SAP Listener program).?
    If anybody has detailed steps or explanation please share it with us.
    Thanks in advance
    Warm Regards,
    VEL

    Hi All,
      For the above mentioned issue, we implemented JCo software in JAVA system and created the JAVA program including SAP logon credential details like Client, User name, password and Language details.
    When this JAVA program was compiled successfully then, that non SAP system will appear in SAP gateway Tcode.
    Once non SAP system started appearing in SAP gateway that means, both SAP & Non SAP are connected automatically.

  • Access BAPIs Using the SAP Java Resource Adapter

    Hi experts,
    Can someone tell me how to Access BAPIs Using the SAP Java Resource Adapter?

    hi Shweta,
    Please refer the step by step procedure:
    1. Start the deploy tool of the SAP J2EE Application Server with the DeployTool.bat in the directory //<SAP J2EE Engine Installation Directory/.../j2ee/deploying.
    2. Choose Project &#8594; New Project and enter a name for the new project.
    3. Click on the Deployer tab.
    4. From the menu path, choose Deploy &#8594; EAR &#8594; Load Module and select the sapjra.rar file.
    5. For the newly created node sapjra.rar, choose Server Settings &#8594; Identity Subjects and select Caller Impersonation as authentication type, so that the J2EE user data is used to log on to the ABAP system.
    6. Make sure that the J2EE Application Server is running. Connect to the J2EE Application Server with Deploy &#8594; Connect.
    7. Deploy the sapjra.rar using the menu Deploy &#8594; Deployment &#8594; Deploy Module.
    8. Enter SAPJRADemo as application name and start the application.
    9. Close the deploy tool.
    10. Start the Visual Administrator again.
    11. Select the Cluster tab and switch to <Server Node> &#8594; Services &#8594; Connector Container.
    12. Click on the Runtime tab and choose sap.com/SAPJRADemo &#8594; eis/SAPJRADemoFactory.
    13. Choose Managed Connection Factory &#8594; Properties. On this page, you need to specify the logon data for the ABAP system. There is already some dummy data visible in the property list if no real system data has been specified so far.
    14. To change the value of a property, select the property in the list, change the value underneath it, and add the changes using the Add button. At the end, do not forget to save all changes by pressing the button Save Changes. The user configured for the SAP JRA must be the user authorized to read metadata of function modules.

  • How to access JDBC Resource registered in Sun Java System App Server ?

    I want to create a stand-alone JDBC application with Java SE using Swing technologies and JNDI technology. The purpose of using JNDI technology is to avoid change of Java Source Code every time I move the database to different location. This Java application will be used in a standalone PC installed with Windows XP Professional with no LAN / WAN connection. Of course, Internet connection is available with the PC.
    I use JavaDB to store the data tables and the location of the database is D:\E-DRIVE\SAPDEV. Tomorrow, if I move this database to C:\SAPDEV or any network drive, I do not want to change the Java Source code. I want to use JNDI which, if I am not wrong, helps developers to avoid manual change of Java source code whenever the database location is changed. Changes have to be made only in the JNDI Name which contains all relevant information about the database in order to get connection no matter where the database SAPDEV is stored; it can be placed under D:\E-DRIVE directory or C:\ directory of the hard disk. To implement my intention, I started developing Java application as per the steps mentioned below:
    Step 1:
    To proceed, first, I sought the help of Sun Java System Application Server Admin Console. I created JNDI object for Connection Pool using the menu path Common Tasks->Resources->JDBC->Connection Pools.
    JNDI Name : ABAPRPY
    Resource Type : javax.sql.DataSource
    Datasource class : org.apache.derby.jdbc.ClientDataSource
    Description : ABAP Program Repository
    The Connection Pool creation has options for General, Advanced and Additional Settings tabs and I made all the settings relevant to the database I created in D:\E-DRIVE\SAPDEV.
    To confirm whether the above settings are correct, I pressed the Ping push button which is available in the General tab of the connection pool creation screen. The system responded with the message Ping Succeeded.
    Step 2:
    I created a JDBC Resource using the menu path Common Tasks->Resources->JDBC->JDBC Resources.
    JNDI Name : jdbc/SAPDEV
    Pool Name : ABAPRPY
    Description : Database Connection for SAPDEV database
    Status : Enabled
    I can see all the above settings recorded in the domain.xml which is placed in the folder
    C:\Sun\AppServer\domains\domain1\config
    Step 3:
    I have made sure that Sun Java System Application Server is up and running in the background with JavaDB server. I created a Java Program making sure the following JAR files are included in the classpath:
    appserv-admin.jar
    appserv-ee.jar
    appserv-rt.jar
    javaee.jar
    fscontext.jar
    Plus, the lib directory of JDK 1.6 & C:\Sun\AppServer\domains\domain1\config
    Source code of the program is as follows: I used NetBeans IDE to create my project file.
    import java.util.logging.Level;
    import java.util.logging.Logger;
    import javax.naming.*;
    import javax.activation.DataSource;
    public class JNDILookup {
    public static void main(String[] args) {
    try {
    InitialContext initCtx = new InitialContext();
    DataSource ds = (DataSource) initCtx.lookup("java:comp/env/jdbc/sapdev>");
    } catch (NamingException ex) {
    Logger.getLogger(JNDILookup.class.getName()).log(Level.SEVERE, null, ex);
    When I attempted to compile the above program in NetBeans IDE ,no compilation error reported. But while executing the program, I got the following run-time error message:
    SEVERE: null
    javax.naming.NameNotFoundException: No object bound for java:comp/env/jdbc/sapdev> [Root exception is java.lang.NullPointerException]
    at com.sun.enterprise.naming.java.javaURLContext.lookup(javaURLContext.java:224)

    Caused by: java.lang.NullPointerException
    at com.sun.enterprise.naming.java.javaURLContext.lookup(javaURLContext.java:173)
    ... 3 more
    Now, I want to come out of this situation; at the same time, I want to preserve the settings I have made in the Sun Java System Application Server Admin Console. That is, I want to programmatically access the data source using Connection Pool created in Sun Java System Application Server Admin Console.
    I request dear forum members to provide me an appropriate solution.
    Thanks and regards,
    K. Rangarajan.

    Bare in mind I am attempting the context.lookup() from inside the container (my code is in a session bean). I have accessed the server and have my bean "say hello" first to verify the bean works OK, then I call a method with this rather standard code:

    But when I run the code the server log shows the initial context is created Ok, but an exception is thrown becasue the resource name is not found:
    (and i have tried vriations of ctx.lookup("jdbc/"+jndiDataSourceName) etc etc
    You are fine here. It works in container because the InitialContext properties have been supplied already. That was the link I forwarded earlier. The InitialContext you create locally needs to locate the container JNDI. That is what the properties specify.
    Where I am confused is where you indicate the stack below is from the server log. So, you initiate a standalone (java main method) application, create an InitialContext, and you see the results in your app server log?
    LDR5010: All ejb(s) of [EJB_Module_1] loaded successfully!
    Programatically acquiring JNDI DataDource: Second_EJB_Module_DataBase

    at com.sun.corba.ee.impl.orbutil.threadpool.ThreadPoolImpl$WorkerThread.run(ThreadPoolImpl.java:555)
    This is strange since I can see this resource (a JDBC connection named Second_EJB_Module_DataBase) is configured on the server from the server's admin console.
    That is why you can obtain a lookup from within the container (app server).
    For this lookup to work it may be that one must map the name inside an ejb-jar.xml deployed with the application, but I have also read some resources like jdbc connection should have a default name. Does anyone know if my lookup() should work without using an ejb-jar.xml mfile to explcitly map the reource for my application?
    Both EBJ's and data sources can be referenced via JNDI. It's a remote lookup (that is normally optimized if it is running in the same JVM). You should not have any dependencies on a JDBC data source being set-up on ejb-jar.xml. That file can of course impact your EJB's. However, data sources are normally set-up on a container-specific basis (e.g., you probably did it through a console, but there is a spec somewhere about how to set up a data source via a resource the app server looks for; it varies from app server to app server). However, once you have that container-specific data source set-up, JNDI operates vendor-neutral. You should be able to take the code above and move it to JBoss or Weblogic or Tomcat or whatever (this is an ideal, in practice, the vendors sometimes put a data source in a name you would not expect, but again, you can use their JMX console to see what the JNDI name is).
    (As I stated above if I have to use a deployment discriptor to get at this JNDI datasource, then solution is not "programmatic" as newly configured datasources could not be accessed without redeploying the entire application).
    As JSchell alluded to, you will always have at least something vendor-specific. JNDI itself (the code you wrote) is totally portable. However, you have to set the various JNDI environment properties to a given vendor's spec. Ideally, you should not need a vendor's actual InitialContext application, but it's a possibility. Once you can safely cast to Context, you should be vendor-neutral (if not, demand your money back).
    So that is exactly where I am stuck, trying to get the lookup to work and wondering if it should work without and xml file mapping the resource for my app.
    What we ended up doing for standalone was to provide our own JNDI. If you look at the open source project JOTM, there are examples on how to use that with XBean (if integrating with Spring, as we did), you can easily set up a data source that runs standalone exactly as you get in the container. Another benefit is you get full JTA/JTS support and the ability to run XA transactions. (This might all be alphabet soup, but the app server gives it to you, and this is the way we ended up doing the same: JNDI + JTA + JTS + XA). It ends up the same application code uses a "vanilla" InitialContext and all we have to do is write one or two xml files (one for our app server, a couple for JOTM), and our actual code works the same.
    I still think you have a shot at getting to the container's JNDI, just not using their full-blown app server JAR.
    I think there must be a simple way to do this with an ejb-jar.xml, I am no expert in JNDI, I could be missing something simple, I will keep at it and post an answer here if I come up with it.
    Thanks, jayIt is simple to code. Getting it to integrate with your app server, yes, that can be challenging. But it has nothing to do with EJB's. Write a simple test. Using nothing but DataSource and InitialContext. Let us know where you get stuck.

  • Linked List and String Resources

    Linked Lists can be very slow when removing dynamic Strings.
    If you add and remove Strings in the
    following way, the performance is very poor:
    int n = 10000;
    long time = System.currentTimeMillis ();
    List list = new LinkedList();
    for (int i = 0 ; i < n ; i++)
    list.add ("" + n);
    for (int i = n-1 ; i >= 0 ; i--)
    list.remove(i/2);
    - If you add and remove the not dynamic String: "" + 10000 instead,
    - or do not remove the String (but add it in the middle),
    - or use a ArrayList
    the performance is much better.
    I suppose it depends on handling the String resources.
    If you run the following class, you will see what I mean:

    public static void main (String[] args)
    // Be carefull when accessing/removing Strings in a Linked List.

    It doesn't matter if they are Strings or any other Object. LinkedList, in the way you are executing
    remove, is not effecient. The LinkList remove will look at the index, if it is less than the median
    it will start iterating from 0, if it is greater, it will start iterating in reverse from the end. Since you
    are removing from the median, it will always take the longest (either forward or backward) to
    get to the middle. Whereas, ArrayList simply uses the arraycopy to drop the element from the
    array. The "NoRemove" test doesn't make sense to me in relation to the others.
    Also, the VM is performing optimizations when you hardcode the 'n' value to 10000, it seems
    that the VM won't optimize when using 'n'. Tusing Integer.toString(n), instead of "" + n,
    in the first test case, it will yield better results.
    My profs in college drove collections into my head and removing from a linked list without
    an iterator is going to be inefficient. Iterators are a beautiful thing, use them.
    Try this code instead, it simulates your remove in the middle with an iterator and, on my
    machine, is faster than the ArrayList.
    private static void testLinkedList() {
        int n = 10000;
        long time = System.currentTimeMillis ();
        List list = new LinkedList();
        for (int i = 0 ; i < n ; i++) {
            list.add (Integer.toString(n));
        boolean forward = false;
        for (ListIterator li = list.listIterator(n >> 1); li.hasNext() || li.hasPrevious();) {
            if (forward) {
                li.next();
                forward = false;
            } else {
                li.previous();
                forward = true;
            li.remove();
        time = System.currentTimeMillis () - time;
        System.out.println ("time dynamic String remove " + time);
    }One other thing, run the tests more than once in a single VM and take the average. You could
    apply some statistical analysis to figure out which is better within a certain confidence percentage,
    but that is probably overkill. :)

              String[] mods = { "JMSModule" };
              info.addTarget("Server",mods);
              String[] jRes = { "JMSModule@JMSResources" };
              info.addTarget("JMS_Server",jRes);
              ObjectName task = ( ObjectName )
              connection.invoke ( deployer, "deploy",
              new Object[] { path, APP_NAME, "nostage", null, info, new Boolean(true)},
              new String[] {"java.lang.String", "java.lang.String", "java.lang.String",
              "java.lang.String", "weblogic.management.deploy.DeploymentData", "java.lang.Boolean"} );
              I tried different combinations of
              String[] jRes = { "JMSModule@JMSResources" };
              String[] jRes = { "JMSModule/JMSResources" };
              String[] jRes = { "JMSModule\\JMSResources" };
              but nothing seems to work.
              Thank you.

    Hi Sunil,
    Thanks for the reply, it worked.
    Another doubt on the same lines. Now that the jar has been deployed as a library in WLS, when i try to deploy a WAR which refers to this deployed jar library, im unable to. I run into and error stating that the library is inaccessible.
    I have to bounce the server and before doing that, i have to manually copy the library.jar from <WLS_domain>/servers/AdminServer/upload/ directory to <WLS_domain>/lib/ directory, once copied i then try to deploy the WAR, then the deployment goes fine.
    Is there any means that this deployed library jar be made available soon after deployment and also to avoid copying the file.
    Thanks,
    Vijay.

  • Wats necessity to use constructors, in java

    i am new to java so wanted to now
    bout the necesity to use constructors in java.
    n also y java doesnt support distructors?? yes offcourse it has concept of garbage collector
    but whether user will come to know that the object which is not in use has been deleted?? if yes then how??

    99% of the time, Java's garbage collection should do everything you need it to do.
    The other 1% are usually things that use resources outside of the JVM, that need to be released (like a FileInputStream). In these cases, the object overrides the finalize() method, and when that method is called upon garbage collection, the FIS will call its own close() method, releasing any external resources.
    Note that even when objects implement finalize(), it's not to avoid a memory leak inside the JVM, but instead to avoid locking resources outside the JVM. So it's still not a problem with garbage collection in those cases.

  • How to create a user in UME Database using web dynpro java custom application

    Hi,
    Can you please suggest me how to create a user in UME Database using web dynpro java custom application.
    My Requirement is user can register his/her user id in SAP Portal 7.3 UME database.
    Please suggest me.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Amit

    Hi Amit,
    Generated Documentation (Untitled)
    This is what you're looking for, there's no real cook-book -- though Amey mentioned there might be some material on SDN, perhaps some tutorials.
    You should be looking into com.sap.security.api.IUserFactory, methods newUser(String) which gives you and IUserMaint and commitUser(IUserMaint, IUserAccount) -- IUserAccount can be obtained using com.sap.security.api.IUserAccountFactory, method newUserAccount(String)
    Hope it helps,
    D.

  • How to set a variable in portal session using web dynpro java.

    Hi,
    I have created a web dynpro application, which is running inside portal. I have created a role called "R1". Inside role R1, i have created 3 workset W1, W2 and W3. and inside each workset i have some pages and iviews.
    My requirement is when user logins to the portal , and when he clicks on role R1 for the first time, a login page should come (so that we can do revalidation), and when he enters his password again in that login page , then only workset W1, W2 and W3 should be visible/accessible to him and after successful revalidation, if he clicks again on role R1, in that particular portal session, than that login page should not come.
    for this, i thought i will set a variable in portal session, whenever user successfully revalidated himself, and if after successful revalidation he clicks again on role R1, i will check in doinit method of webdynpro whether variable is set or not (which i already set on successful revalidation), and if it is set then i will do Donavigation else i will present login page to the user.
    Can anyone tells me how to set a variable in portal session using web dynpro java.
    thanks
    Arush

    Hi,
    Try this:
    WDScopeUtil.put(WDScopeType.CLIENTSESSION_SCOPE, key, value)
    WDScopeUtil.get(WDScopeType.CLIENTSESSION_SCOPE, key)
    Ex:
    WDScopeUtil.put(WDScopeType.CLIENTSESSION_SCOPE,"Key1","Value1");
    String value1=WDScopeUtil.get(WDScopeType.CLIENTSESSION_SCOPE,"Key1").toString();

    Dear All
    I have a requirement to read/write excel files in .xlsx format. I am good in doing it with .xls format using jxl.jar. The jxl.jar doesn't support .xlsx format. Kindly help me in understanding how do I need to proceed on reading/writing .xlsx files using Webdynpro for Java.

    The project was not built since its classpath is incomplete. Cannot find the class

    This compilation unit indirectly references the missing type java.lang.Iterable

  • How to import into ALSB a resource using WLST

    Hi all,
    I've an ALSB project that contains my templates (proxy, business services, xsd, etc) and I use a WLST script for creating a new project, reading additional info from a xml file, cloning ALSB stuff from my templates.
    The cloning process is working very well and now I'm trying to import xq, xsd, etc in order to replace the old with the new ones.
    As starting example I've already download the code sample created by Gregory Haardt.
    During the import phase I got an error:
    [java] #### [EventBus-DummyEvent] cloning the TransformIntoConsumerEvent proxy template

    [java] CreationFailure: 'IPEvent project <EventBus-DummyEvent>, one or more files could not be imported properly'
    The zip contains the new xquery:
    jar tvf .../DummyEvent-resources.zip
    7575 Fri Sep 21 14:22:20 CEST 2007 DummyEvent-IPEventConfig.xml
    and the script is:
    # create the new XQuery ref
    queryName = IPEventProjectName + '/' + IPEventType + '-IPEventConfig'
    newXQueryName = queryName.split("/")
    newXQueryRef = Ref(TypeIds.XQUERY_REF, newXQueryName)
    print "New XQuery Ref", newXQueryRef
    bytes = readBinaryFile(resourceZip)
    result = ALSBConfigurationMBean.importZip(projectRef, bytes, None)
    print "#### loaded resources in project:", IPEventProjectName
    # check for errors
    diags = result.getFailed()
    if diags != None and diags.isEmpty() == false:
    printDiagMap(diags)
    failed = 'IPEvent project <' + IPEventProjectName + '>, one or more files could not be imported properly'
    raise CreationFailure(failed)
    Do I need to create a Ref object for any resource to be imported? What is the meaning of 'invalid ws-policy'?
    Thanks
    ferp

    solved ...
    I changed the file extension of the xquery inside the zip file from .xml to .xquery:
    jar tvf /.../DummyEvent-resources.zip
    0 Fri Sep 28 14:07:36 CEST 2007 resource/
    548 Fri Sep 28 14:09:44 CEST 2007 resource/DummyEvent-IPEvent.xsd
    7575 Fri Sep 21 14:22:20 CEST 2007 resource/DummyEvent-IPEventConfig.xquery
    I've also noted that if I organize the artifacts inside the zip within folders that structure is preserved in ALSB:
    [java] #### loaded resources in project: EventBus-DummyEvent
    [java] #### ... XMLSchema EventBus-DummyEvent/resource/DummyEvent-IPEvent
    [java] #### ... Xquery EventBus-DummyEvent/resource/DummyEvent-IPEventConfig
    Best
