Hi,
I built a process flow Flow_1 and now I try to schdule and run it.
I built a Schedule WF1 but now I cannot merge process flow and schedule. I think I forgot something to do.
Please help me.

Hi RobNijland,
Thank you for your information.
I have done this. But I have a parameter defined on my process flow and how can I pass that parameter value?
Thanks,

  • Scheduling the Process Flows in Oracle Warehouse Builder

    Hi,
Can you please let me know how to schedule the process flows.I mean to make the process flow to run on a daily, weekly basis etc.Where exactly we need to schedule the process flows.
It would be great if you can help me out.
    Thanks

You can schedule process flows the same way as you schedule mappings. See the following viewlet regarding the scheduling of OWB activities in Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM):

  • OWB : Runtime Repo for Target and Process Flows on Different M/C

    Hi,
I have an environment where the Runtime Repositories for the Target Warehouse and Process Flows ( Workflows ) are on different machines. I have deployed :
    * the mappings and Target Tables on the Target Warehouse
    * Process Flows on the Workflow Server which resides on a seperate M/C.
When I try executing the Process Flows for the Mappings , it errors out indicating that the objects may not have been deployed. Looks like the Process Flows cannot see the Mappings deployed.
Can somebody help me here ?????

I think target schema and runtime rep shuould be in same instance

  • Scheduling a Process Flow

    Hi All,
I wanted to run my process flow at a predefined schedule. I had created a schedule for the same. But how do I specify which mapping need to be run on this schedule and how do I deploy this schedule. I am not able to see this schedule in my Location?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Danish

    Hi
    1. Deploy the process flow.
    2. Create a schedule and set the time parameters
3.Right click on the process flow you want to schedule
    4 select configure
    5. Assign the schedule to the process flow using referred calendar. This will create a process flow job or scheduled job under the location string used for creating a schedule. The scheduled job would be having the name of the process flow but with suffix "_JOB"
    6. Deploy the scheduled job.
    7. Start the scheduled job manually initially. This will start/enable the schedule and the Process flow is executed for every interval of time.
    Hope this helps

  • Owb process flow error handling

    Hi,
    I am using OWB 10gR2.
I have 2 process flows that each call a series of mappings. Then I have one "master" process flow that calls the two aforementioned proecess flows. When a mapping errors, I want my whole master process flow to abort. I put error handling in, but it doesn't seem to work. For example, if I get an error in the first process flow, I get my email notification that something is wrong. The process ends. However, the master process flow continues to go. I want it to stop. It continues to go because there wasn't an error in the first process flow. The error was handled, and the process flow ended successfully. Does anyone have any tips or tricks on how to handle this type of situation? I'm not doing anything revolutionary. I'm just new to these process flows.
    Thanks,
    Tim

hmm ok this sounds a bit weird to me.
I've created similar processflows with customers and never had similar problems like you describe.
Just to verify your design, here is how I would solve your master1 processflow.
    _______________________END_WARNING
    w w
    start----PF1----------s---------------PF2------s---- END_SUCCESS
    e e
    \___________________\____END_WARNING
where the conditions for the transitions is indicated with w for warning, s for success and e for error.
Some poorly made ascii art there but hopefully you get the idea...:p
This also sounds like what you've done already and with extra email functionality.
Are you sure that pf2 starts after pf1? Or can it actually run in parallel with pf1 but just finishes after pf1 so it seems like it its done afterwards? The reason I ask is that I experienced that in one of my processflows with around 30+ mappings, one of the mappings that was supposed to be executed almost at the end, executed before everything else and messed everything up. It was quite the annoying little bug and took a long time for me to discover. If you have noticed on the transitions, there is a little number next to the line on the canvas, indicating in which order the operators are to be executed. In my case, two transitions had the same number and that caused one of the mappings to just start as soon as the processflow was told to start. If this is the case there is a way to set these, but I don't remember right now. Delete and recreate the transitions also do the trick I think.
    Hope you figure it out!

edit: seems like my ascii art got a bit messed up... :(

  • Help with scheduling Process Flows in Workflow in 10gR2

    Dear All
I am after some help with the scheduling of process flows (PF) in Workflow in OWB 10gR2. I am trying to set up some PF’s to handle the refresh of some staging tables from various source systems. I have created a separate Process Flow Module for each source systems, mainly just to keep them separate and organised. I have a number of mappings which all run fine if execute manually or linked directly to a schedule/job. The problem I am encountering is when I try to run process flows from schedules. I have created process flows ok and have run them manually and they complete fine so I know that the content of the PF is ok. After linking and deploying the jobs I can never get all the process flows to run from the various schedules. What appears to happen is that the first PF works ok and any other PF that are within the same Process Flow Module/packages also runs ok even if its running off as different schedules. However PF’s under the other Process Flow Module fail with the following error
    CC_DAILY_0400
    Description :
    Runtime User : OWBRT_USER

    ORA-06512: at "OWF_MGR.WF_ENGINE", line 3920
    ORA-06512: at line 1
Following this error the PF will not even run manually! If I then stop the schedule and either drop or replace this failed PF thus redeploying, the PF then runs fine manually and if the restart the schedule it runs ok the next evening. My problem is that this then appears to impact on the other PF’s which all though have not been touched and ran ok the previous evening they then fail the following evening with the same error

I basically can not get both sets to run even though they are on separate modules and separate schedules.Has anyone any idea as to what could be wrong or if I am setting something up in a strange way which would cause these symptoms.

  • How to Schedule OWB Process Flows through OEM

    Hi,
I have successfully created mappings and process flows for my project.
But now I want to schedule the process flows through OEM.
    Following are my DB configurations..
OWB Version : 10g R1 (Oracle SID LVDSGDEV ) on windows
Runtime Owner: ATS_RUN_OWNER (Oracle SID LVDSGDEV )
Runtime User : ATS_RUN_USER (Oracle SID LVDSGDEV )
Work Flow Schema: OWF_MGR (Oracle SID LVDSGDEV)
Source & Target DB : 10g (Oracle SID LVRUNDEV) on windows
Process which I want to Schedule is....
    Process Flow Location: ATS_LOC
    Process Flow Name: PKG_DM
    Process Name: BASE_LOAD
Can someone please suggest me, the procedure to schedule this process flow.....

You may choose just to schedule the mapping directly through OEM. Create an OEM SQLPlus job that calls the script:
    @c:\owb_home\owb\rtp\sqlplus_exec_template.sql;
Check the beginning of the sqlplus_exec_template.sql. It will show examples of the parameters it accepts and it has some documentation. It works nicely.

  • Scheduling Process Flow

    Hi
I'm having trouble setting up a schedule in OWB, can anyone help?
I'm using OWB 10.2.0.3, I've created a Schedule and Process Flow, I've configured the Process Flow so that the REFERRED SCHEDULE property is set. I've redeployed the process flow. So far so good?
I presume I now need to deploy the scheduled job (so I can start it?), however when I try I get error:
    ORA-27475: "BIR_ROLAP.PF_SS_SCHEDULE_JOB" must be a job
    ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_ISCHED", line 178
    ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_SCHEDULER", line 544
    ORA-06512: at line 1
    PF_SS_SCHEDULE_JOB
    Create
    Error
RPE-02183: Task runner procedure PPF_SS_SCHEDULE_JOB is not valid.
    Am I missing a step?
    Cheers
    Si

Check if the foll is done:
say there is a process flow 'PF1' and in this process flow click on configure and set the referred calendar to the new schedule that you have created.
also make sure the identification and evaluation locations are setup for the process flow.
    Deploy the process flow.
    This works for me.

  • OWB-OWF - Process Flow Deployment - Database Link

    Hello there,
This post is basically related to my problem with Process Flow deployment.
Could someone please shed some light on the following:
When we create a Process Flow, during this process OWF creates a Database Link. For some reason, this link is not functional unless I remove the part after "." in that defines the "HOST" in the DB Link definition. How do I know it is not functional - I know because following query does not work:
    select * from [email protected]@WB_LK_WF_PKG
    Here is the link definition:
    ORIGINAL:
    create database link OWB92TRG.US.ORACLE.COM@WB_LK_WF_PKG
    connect to RR
    identified by "<pwd>"
    using '(DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS_LIST=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=CENTENNI-2077E4.CENTENNIALCOLLEGE.CA)(PORT=1521)))(CONNECT_DATA=(SERVICE_NAME=OWB92TRG)))'
MODIFIED (it works - above query runs OK):
    create database link OWB92TRG.US.ORACLE.COM@WB_LK_WF_PKG
    connect to RR
    identified by "<pwd>"
    using '(DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS_LIST=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=CENTENNI-2077E4)(PORT=1521)))(CONNECT_DATA=(SERVICE_NAME=OWB92TRG)))'
My second question is "using what userid/pwd should this link should have been created? Should it use "Runtime Repository Owner" or "OWB Repository Owner" or "Runtime Access User" or "OWF_MGR"?
No matter what userid I use, it works when I run the query but I always get following error when I try to deploy the "Process Flows" in OWB:
RPE-02085: Failed to test wb_rti_workflow_util.initialize through deployed Workflow Database Link OWB92TRG.US.ORACLE.COM@WB_LK_WF_PKG2. Please check that "EXECUTE ANY PROCEDURE" privilege is set and that the OWB Runtime is available.
    - ORA-04052: error occurred when looking up remote object [email protected]@WB_LK_WF_PKG2
ORA-12545: Connect failed because target host or object does not exist
I have already granted the "EXECUTE ANY PROCEDURE" to OWF_MGR. I am not sure, though, what is meant by the "and that the OWB Runtime is available" part of the error message above.
I have also tried to fix this by running the "catrpc.sql" script but it did not help either.
I am stuck on this step for past few days. I would highly appreciate help in fixing this problem. Here is the configuration I am using:
o Source database : Oracle 9i (9.2) on my local PC
o Target database : Oracle 9i (9.2) on my local PC
    o OWB 9i
    o OWF 2.6.2
o OWB and OWF repositories are on the TARGET database
I am able to successfully deploy and run my MAPPINGs.
    TIA,

  • Problem with copying Process Flows in OWB 10.2.0.1..

    Hello
We have a complex process flow which runs fine. When we try to duplicate the process flow in design center by copy/paste operation, the new process flow seems to execute activities out of sequence. We tried saving/synchronizing the process flow (eact activity individually) with no luck.
We checked the repository browser and see all the activities and transitions in the right order. I looked at both OWB repository tables as well as Workflow tables/views. It just seems that the run time picks up the data in a different order and executes it.
Any idea on how to debug this?. We can't create each process flow from scratch every time we need to add new one which will be slightly different one from an existing process flow.
    Thanks
    Prakash

Find and read the thread about when queries take too long.
Something is different between the systems, possibly
    * indexing
    * volume of data
    * connect-by structure in table data
    * initialization or session settings

  • Scheduling process flows and mappings

    Hello
I have created many process flows. Now i want to schedule it. I know i can use OEM, but i need to log in as DBA. i also know that you can use owb scheduler module to schedule a process flow. but i want to schedule it using sql plus. i found a link on scheduling process flow in sql plus for older versions of OWB. Can we use the same script for OWB 10.2? here is the link - http://www.dba-oracle.com/oracle_news/2005_7_7_Scheduling_an_OWB.htm
Please let me know how to schedule a process flow in OWB 10.2 in sql plus. It would be great if you could post the sql script required to schedule OWB 10.2 process flows.
    Thank You

    Hi,
the web server named by the link is down, so a general answer.
You can use the scripts sqlplus_exec_template.sql and oem_exec_template.sql from the directory <OWBHOME>/owb/rtp/sql and schedule it with cron or at or scheduler or ...

  • Can we run process-flow from outside OWB

    Hi All,
I am scheduling my process-flows daily in night. If any process-flow fails, they will rectify the problems and they want to run the process flow manually, outside own, like SQL.
    Regards,
    Kumar.

    Hi Detlef,
I tried to execute the following, I dint get any response and the sqlplus closed automatically. When I saw the execution details no executing had taken palce. And even I tried to execute the command by commenting the exit in the script.
    sqlplus RA_OWB1/RA_OWB1@RADEV1 @C:\OraHome_1\owb\rtp\sql\sqlplus_exec_template.sql RA_OWB1 PlatformSchema ProcessFlow SAI_PF "," ","
Is there any external (oracle function), so that I can pass any number of Process-flows as parameters for execution. Client will create a form with a list of check boxes and execute button. when the user selects the check boxes according to his rerquirements and click execute. then all the process-flows should run.

    Kumar.

  • Syntax to launch an OWB process flow via shell

    Hi all,
do you know what's the syntax to launch a process flow o a mapping via shell?
I need it to schedule a process flow via crontab.
    Thanks in advance
    Steve

    Hi Steve,
use SQL*Plus for executing OWB script sqlplus_exec_background_template.sql/sqlplus_exec_template.sql (these scripts are located in OWBHOME/owb/rtp/sql directory) or stored function WB_RT_API_EXEC.RUN_TASK.
You need connect with SQL*Plus to any registered OWB user on target (DWH) database (for example, you can connect as target schema).
For more details look at chapter [Using SQL*Plus to Schedule and Execute Jobs|http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B31080_01/doc/owb.102/b28225/api_4sqlforjobs.htm#i1064950] from OWB API and Scripting Reference (it is for OWB10gR2, for OWB11g procedure is slightly different).

  • Sheduling OWB process flow.

    Hi,
I am new to OWB. I created a process flow. And I am able to execute it using OWB. But now I want to shedule my process flow.
    I am using oracle warehouse builder 10g R 1.
I am using work flow server 2.6.3
I am having oracle enterprize manager. But I don't know how to shedule jobs.
    Thanks and regards
    Gowtham sen.

From OEM you can use the following to schedule your process flow package.
1, Select the RUN SQL*PLUS Script
    2, "owner" "Process_Flow_Location" "PROCESS" "PF_NAME" "," ","
    3, Then import the OEM_EXEC_TEMPLATE.SQL
4, Check the Overide credential with the Username and Password
This step is working for me. Also if you get an Role error make sure the comment
the following lines in the OEM_EXEC_TEMPLATE.sql
    REM alter session set current_schema = &REPOS_OWNER;
    REM set role wb_r_&REPOS_OWNER, wb_u_&REPOS_OWNER;
