OWB HS DATES DUAL -1

oK,
I was able to get the below view to pull back records based on today's date from an HS service.
But where do I put the -1 to change the dual date from today's to yesterday??
select "order_number", "date_created"
from SYS.NICHECOM_TRANS_CREDITS_VW
where (select TO_CHAR(SYSDATE,'YYYY-MM-DD')from dual) = TO_CHAR("date_created",'YYYY-MM-DD');
thanks for the assistance

I think you just want:
where (select TO_CHAR(SYSDATE-1,'YYYY-MM-DD')from dual) = TO_CHAR("date_created",'YYYY-MM-DD');
Hope this helps,
Scott

  • OWB 10g data sources

    Newbie question:
Can OWB 10g use a Oracle 9i DB source that exists on another machine?. I'm assuming it would use dblinks.

Yes, I've created a new Oracle Module ( and related Link ) to my Oracle 8i database, of course you have to configure tnsnames.ora properly.

  • Problem in OWB: connecting to a non-oracle database

    Good day,
i'm working on a windows 32 bit machine,i have Oracle database , OWB 11.2.0.1 installed on it
i'm trying to make OWB connect to a "Sybase" source database on another server , using ODBC
i've tested the connection from SQLPLUS and it's working perfectly
but when i test the connection from OWB locations , it gives me this error:
"ORA-28500: connection from ORACLE to a non-Oracle system returned this message:
    [OpenLink][ODBC][SQL Server]Statement(s) could not be prepared (0)
    {42000}[OpenLink][ODBC][SQL Server]"DUAL" not found. Specify owner.objectname
or use sp_help to check whether the object exists (sp_help may produce lots of
    output).
    (208) {42S02,NativeErr = 208}
    my questions are :
-why would OWB check for DUAL table on a sybase database? is that a bug in OWB?
-can i bypass this step and just import metadata from the sybase source database? (i tried importing, but OWB performs the same test before importing)

    Hi Chris,
I haven't tried it, and these are just some of my thoughts, but I
think you would need to load the JDBC driver for the other database
into the Oracle database (using the "loadjava" tool, of-course).
Then your java stored procedure should be able to instantiate the
third party JDBC driver and obtain a connection to the other database.
    Hope this helps.
    Good Luck,
    Avi.

  • Strategy to create projects in OWB

    Hi Fellows
We are starting using OWB and I like to know your expertise how to structure our projects in OWB
We want to use OWB for Data warehouse projects.
We have different layers in our architecture and each layer has its own schemas
for example, we have a data load layer, an integration layer, a start schema layer and a reporting layer.
    Each have their own schemas.
We have development projects that many developers can work on the project.
My question comes when you do recommend to create project.
Do we create one project for all layers?
Do we create oner project for each layer(schema)?
Do we create project for every development project?
or any other criteria to consider to help us decide when we create projects.
    Sincerely

    Hey,
please create one project for all layers and for each layer one module.
For each development project create one collection.
All answers are valid if your development is made on site.

  • OWB 10g R2 with Advanced Queues

    All,
We are currently using 9.2.0.2.8 and make extensive use of Advance Queues in many of our mappings (we've put a lot of effort in to get this to work "real time"). We are now looking to upgrade from 9.2.0.2.8 to 10.2.0.2 - we've upgraded the mappings ok and the queues are there ok.
Going forward it looks like AQ has been removed as a source for new mappings in OWB 10g R2. Can anyone shed any light on this - will it be included a future patch or is there a work around?
I've looked at the OpenWorld presentations and making OWB process data "near real time" seems to be a big new feature.
    Thanks
    Craig

I raised a Tar on metalink for this issue, here is the reply I got:
This is what I received from Development:
The real-time feature was pulled from OWB 10gR2 and this also included the
AQ import which was in 10.1, I think they must have been
tightly coupled. The workaround involves coding; the pre-Paris solution
basically created a temporary table where messages were staged and this
queue table used for the map; the map had pre/post map triggers for
initializing/finalizing the queue. To use it effectively it would be best to
create some scripts that generate the appropriate SQL scripts for the
supporting map queue table and also the PLSQL procedures representing the
pre/post map triggers. Similar manual coding is applicable for using CDC
    within OWB for OWB 10gR2.
These features are planned for a future release.
Implementation of this work-around is something you can do or Oracle Consulting can do. Support
cannot assist in developing a solution for this.

  • Importing SQL Server NTEXT into OWB (Warehouse Builder)

    Hi all,
I'm having trouble using a SQL Server source in OWB. I need to import a NTEXT column and it casts to a LONG in Oracle, so I'm not able to select the imported data. Everything is working fine, except this NTEXT source values.
Has OWB any parameters to import such NTEXT values? How can I read SQL Server data that is assumed as LONG values?
    Thanks in advance
    Best regards
    Jose

Let me add to this question: is there any way to control the way OWB casts data types from non-Oracle database sources? I am importing metadata from SQL Server databases that have one or more columns of type XML. OWB also casts these as LONG, and when I try to access the data I get the message "Invalid use of LONG data type". If I change the column data type in the object editor to XMLTYPE, I still get the error, and cannot view the data.

  • Cost of OWB

Could somebody please let me know what is the cost of OWB9.2/OWB10G R1/OWB10G R2 ? I understand it comes free along with Oracle server. But what is the cost of OWB seperately?
    Regards,
    Anirban.

    Hi,
you cannot license the OWB without the enterprise edition of the database. And some functions of the OWB (like data quality, lineage, pluggable mappings, some adaptors) you must license separately (look at http://www.oracle.com/corporate/pricing/technology-price-list.pdf).

  • Premiere Pro CC 2014 very unresponsive while rendering on background with Adobe Media Encoder

Usually while I eddit videos on Premiere, I'm rendering on the background with AME. Or at least I used to. Some time ago, this process suddenly stopped working, as rendering on the background bagan to make Premiere really unresponsive, and quite impossible to work with. I couldn't think of any change I made other than switching my HDD, and I blamed it on that (it made sense because new HDD is one of those WD Green ones, a little worse than my old Seagate one). So I adapted to just queueing everything and start rendering when I was done edditing. But yesterday I installed a 240gb Kingston HyperX SSD, re-installed Windows and the main apps on it, and tried again, hoping to see an improvement. Now I was storing the original media on the HDD, running OS, Premiere and AME on the SSD, and rendering to the HDD. It did not work. Premiere still became slow while I rendering with AME. So I thought it might get better if the HDD was not reading and writing at the same time, and I switched the original media to the SSD, while still rendering to the HDD. Also didn't help. I don't know why this setup suddenly does not work, and I really need to fix it.
    My setup:
    Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit
    Intel Core i7 2600 @ 3.4GHz
    12GB of RAM
nVidia GeForce GTX 560 (yes, drivers are up to date)
Dual monitors (one for Premiere workspace and one for a bigger program monitor)
2TB WD Green HDD where I keep most of my junk (and media files)
240GB Kingston HyperX SSD where I run the OS and important apps (Premiere and AME included)
I'm running Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2014 (8.1.0 build) and AME CC 2014 (8.1.0.122 build)

    Hi chriscorrell,
Thank you for posting on Adobe forums.
Upgrading your OS might be a good idea because Premiere CC 2014's OS requirement is OS X 10.8.

  • Shuttering MPEG HD - BUG?

We are using Adobe Media Encoder for encoding video files to our prefered codec. (MPEG HD - .TS) This used to be no problem. Since a few months (november 2013?) we get only video files with shuttering pixel every second. We didn't change the preset and for testing we used the same source files as before.

We're having the same problem since updating to CC 7.2. All was good in CC 7.0. We still have 1 machine with 7.0 on it, and it encodes the MPEGs nicely, but the same setting in 7.2 gives us the Pixelation flash every second or so.

  • Report listing workspace owners, workspaces and user names (11gR2)

I was looking for a simple report to show what has been created so far and to give an idea what to cleanup after my initial testing. The OWB 11g data collection script (owbcollect11g.sql) includes a section to exactly help with this. This needs to be executed as sys. Hopefully, this will help somebody else also. Please share any other suggestions.

The other approach might be to create separate workspace owners for each, i.e. dev/test, model and productionI think the second approach will be better as
    1. From the security point of view the different workspace owners has diffrerent security policy for there dev/test model and production.
    2. If at any point of time any one of the workspace would be corrupt it will not impact the other.

  • "Not fully ACPI Compliant" error message in BIOS when installing Vista 64-bit

When I try to install Vista 64 Ultimate I get this message after the initial black and white loading bar screen: "cannot install because the BIOS in this sytem is not fully ACPI compliant"
    Board: 975X Platinum V.2 "20th Anniversary Edition"
Board Bios: 7.8 (tried to install 7.9 but failed (usb flash and msi online)
    CPU: Core 2 Duo E6400
    Memory: 2X2GB A-Data Dual Channel
Tried many solutions from other forums but didn't worked (disabling/enabling >> usb, parallel-game, acpi, apm) also tried with ps2 keyboard only., also with only 1 stick of ram....but nothing worked....
What the heck is going on?
I'm currently running XP SP3 perfectly, but I wanted to upgrade to Vista 64 and buy another 4gb of ram, etc.
Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

    IT WORKED!!!
After the upgrade to the 7.9  BIOS, everything went smoothly.
    Thanks guys you rock!!!
NOTE: I've read so many posts here from members and mods recommending to NOT flash the BIOS unless is inminent...I guess is good advice, but on the MSI website, the only new feature they mention about the 7.9 update is: "Add USB storage bootable function"....but then again, the update fixed my problem (read first post). So you never know...

  • MP3 CDs won't work in car stereo

Hello. I've tried multiple burning tests with iTunes, Toast, and the Finder. I'm trying to get an MP3 CD to work in my 2007 Mazda 6 (five CD changer). The manual says it will read MP3 CDs, and I am burning MP3s... not AACs. When the CD is loaded into my car, I only get track 1 without any audio. Time does elapse as if it is playing something, but I don't hear anything. If I try to skip to the next track, it stays on track 1. I can even search through track 1... but still no audio.
Has anyone had any luck making an MP3 CD with Mac software? Would you mind listing the steps you took in order to create one? Thank you!

    Here's my hardware and software:
    iTunes 7.0.1 (up to date)
    Toast 6.1.1 (up to date)
    Dual 2 GHz PowerPC G5
    Memorex CD-R 52x blank media
    HL-DT-ST DVD-RW GWA-4165B
Here's what I did before my first post:
1 - Burned two songs with iTunes using the MP3 CD option. Maxium Possible speed. Closed and verified the disc.
2 - Burned two songs with the Finder as a data disc. No folders. Maxium Speed Possible.
3 - Burned two songs with Toast as a data disc. Mac & PC option. No folders. Maxium Speed Possible.
4 - Burned two songs with Toast as a data disc. Mac & PC option. No folders. 8x speed.
5 - Burned two songs with Toast as a data disc. Mac & PC option. No folders. 4x speed.
6 - Burned two songs with Toast as a MP3 disc. No folders. Maxium Possible.
7 - Burned two songs with Toast as a MP3 disc. No folders. 8x speed.
8 - Burned two songs with Toast as a MP3 disc. No folders. 4x speed.
I'm out of options on how to test this thing. Before I figure out if MP3 CD players only work with certain burners, cds, etc. I do not have another MP3 CD player to test it on in my house. My car is the only player that reads MP3 CDs. Any more ideas? I really appreciate your help!

  • How to purge audit tables in 11.2.01

    Hi there,
Navigation within OWB both Deisgn Center, Control Center and repository browser is far slower than other development tools on my PC.
Is there a way to purge the OWB audit data such that at least deploying mappings, checking repositiory browser may be quicker.
    Many Thanks

Here are some options that you can try
    +Increase the Java heap memory
    1. Edit the owb.conf file located in the ORACLE_HOME/owb/bin directory.
    2. Modify the value in the line "AddVMOption -Xmx768M" to increase the Heap Memory for Java, based on your physical memory.
    3. Restart the Design Center and re-try the MDL import.
You can set higher value like 1024, the maximum value that you can set depends on your RAM memory, It should be less than your RAM memory
    +Optimize Repository
In the Design center Go to 'Tool' menu and select 'Optiize Repository'
+If the issue is with underlying network or with the databse you may need check with your respective Admins
+For the control center performance issue you can consider applying the cumulative patch 10270220, but i suggest to check with Oracle support before
    applying the patch
