OWB map with DBMS_JOBS.SUBMIT
We use DBMS_JOB package to kick our OWB maps.Previously it worked very fine ..But from near about 2 weeks we are facing problems.
Problem is though our JOB_QUEUE_PROCESS is set to 8 and even I can see 8 jobs with this_data populated in dba_jobs (means jobs are running as we cannot query DBA_JOBS_RUNNING view to see the no of jobs running as it is taking too much time ) we can see only entry of two of there maps in WB_RT_AUDIT.other maps start only if these two get complete .
and there is huge time difference between actual job start time and the entry into WB_RT_AUDIT table .
can any one help us with solution.
Bcos of this issues load which used to take max 4 hours is now taking 24 hours..
Thanks & Regards
Please any to help this situation..

Invalid SQL Query with DBMS_JOB.SUBMIT inside

For the dbms_output.put_line:
- I've found there was a problem with the interval => null. In the final statement it looked like: DBMS_JOB.SUBMIT(1, INSERT_SCHEMA(TEST), 2012-08-31...., ); obviously wrong. Since the default value of interval is NULL I've taken out that parameter.
For the formatting:
- Thanks for pointing that out! It was surely a problem with that part, as I've seen when printing the statement.

OWB Mapping with Flat file as a Target.
Hi all,
we have created a mapping in OWB where we have source as a table.and the target is a flat file.
we have created a file module and we have given the local system path for the file.
when we deploy and execute the mapping we get the error
"Invalid Path for target file, check UTL_FILE_DIR database parameter"
where do we have to specify the path?
Can any one please help in this reg.
Thanks in advance.The UTL_FILE_DIR is set in your init.ora file for your Oracle DB.
init.ora parameter doc: http://www.ss64.com/orasyntax/initora.html
In order to apply the change, you'll need to restart the DB too. -
Hi All,
I am trying to work with DBMS_JOB.SUBMIT and i am unable to move forward since i am not understanding where i am wrong. Please help me with my issue.
I have a package as below
CREATE OR REPLACE PACKAGE Pack.main
AS
PROCEDURE Proc1( V1_P1_in in number, V2_P1_out out number)
PROCEDURE Proc2(V1_P2_In in number, V2_P2_in in Vachar2, V3_P2_out out Number)
PROCEDURE Proc1( V1_P3_in in number, V2_P3_out out number)
Proc2 internally calles another proc called Proc2_Load which calles about 5 other procs lets call Proc2L_1, Proc2L_2, Proc2L_3, Proc2L_4, Proc2L_5
I want to run all these 5 Procs parallely. so i am using DBMS_JOB.SUBMIT.
Normally i call the procs like this
Proc2_1(V1_P2_In , V2_P2_in, row_count); -- row_count is out variable
--- V1_P2_In , V2_P2_in are provided by Proc2_Load which gets from Proc2
I am trying to replace aboved code with below DBMS_JOB.SUBMIT.
DBMS_JOB.SUBMIT(job=>jobno,
what => '
DECLARE
row_count Number;
BEGIN
Proc2_1('||V1_P2_In ||', '|| V2_P2_in||',row_count);
END; ');
There is something worng with the in and out variables... can you please guide me how i have do this.
Thanks
BN
Edited by: 837343 on Feb 16, 2011 9:47 AMI would also suggest to use dbms_scheduler. it makes it much simpler to track the success/failure of those jobs.
However your problem is simply that you add a STRING variable the wrong way.
v2_p2_in must be encapsulated into single ' for the package call
like this (untested)
DBMS_JOB.SUBMIT(job=>jobno,
what => 'DECLARE '||
' row_count Number; '||
' BEGIN '||
' Proc2_1('||V1_P2_In ||', '''|| V2_P2_in||''',row_count); '||
'END;');Not sure if the final ; inside the string is needed but you should keep it for the moment.

Owb mapping parts execution order
Hello.
Let's imagine that we have a owb mapping with two independent parts (or threads or chains of operators, etc) inside it. Is it possible to investigate which one will be executed first?
Sorry for my English :)There's a Target Load Order property of the mapping

DBMS_JOB.SUBMIT ( procedure call with parameter )
Hello,
I am trying to call procedure with input parameter using dbms_job.SUBMIT and it gives me the value of p_email must be declared.
declare
my_job number;
p_email varchar2(50) := 'abc';
my_pro varchar2(100) := 'BEGIN my_pkg.my_proc(' || p_email ||'); END;';
BEGIN
DBMS_JOB.SUBMIT(JOB => MY_JOB,WHAT => my_pro);
END;
if anybody knows how to solve please let me know ASAP.
TIASQL> set serveroutput on;
SQL> declare
2 my_job number;
3 p_email varchar2(50) := 'abc';
4 my_pro varchar2(100) := 'BEGIN my_pkg.my_proc(' || p_email ||'); END;'
5 BEGIN
6 dbms_output.put_line(my_pro);
7 END;
8 /
BEGIN my_pkg.my_proc(abc); END;
PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.i think i should also be enclosed in single quote. see this example below.
SQL> declare
2 my_job number;
3 p_email varchar2(50) := 'abc';
4 my_pro varchar2(100) := 'BEGIN my_pkg.my_proc(' ||''''|| p_email||'''' ||'); END;';
5 BEGIN
6 dbms_output.put_line(my_pro);
7 END;
8 /
BEGIN my_pkg.my_proc('abc'); END;
PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.

your job would look like:declare
my_job number;
p_email varchar2(50) := 'abc';
my_pro varchar2(100) := 'BEGIN my_pkg.my_proc(' ||''''|| p_email||'''' ||'); END;';

I want create one user (user1) and write to other schema(ex. schema1 and schema2), not in my schema (user1) in owb mapping. It is possible??
I have schema dr_schema, dr_testA, dr_testB.
dr_testA has table A
dr_testB has table B
dr_schema has privileges select, insert,update on table dr_testA.A and dr_testB.B
In owb
I created project Test
created oracle module TestA with location testA_location (user:dr_schema, schema: dr_testA) and import table A
created oracle module TestB with location testB_location (user:dr_schema, schema: dr_testB) and import table B
created mapping testA_map in module TestA
opened mapping and I clicked Debug, then show me that not found table A from schema dr_testA, but found table B from dr_testB. When I clicked edit and rebind, searching table A in schema dr_schema. What is wrong?? Somebody help me??

Using DBMS_JOB,SUBMIT
Hello,
I would like to find out how to use DBMS_JOB.SUBMIT to run a certain procedure evry morning at say 5:00 AM
Thanks
DougHi,
This info. taken from oracle documentation............... For more info look in oracle Documentation. I hope this will help you.
DBMS_JOB subprograms schedule and manage jobs in the job queue.
This chapter discusses the following topics:
Requirements
Using the DBMS_JOB Package with Oracle Real Application Clusters
Summary of DBMS_JOB Subprograms
Requirements
There are no database privileges associated with jobs. DBMS_JOB does not allow a user to touch any jobs except their own.
Using the DBMS_JOB Package with Oracle Real Application Clusters
For this example, a constant in DBMS_JOB indicates "no mapping" among jobs and instances, that is, jobs can be executed by any instance.
DBMS_JOB.SUBMIT
To submit a job to the job queue, use the following syntax:
DBMS_JOB.SUBMIT( JOB OUT BINARY_INTEGER,
WHAT IN VARCHAR2, NEXT_DATE IN DATE DEFAULTSYSDATE,
INTERVAL IN VARCHAR2 DEFAULT 'NULL',
NO_PARSE IN BOOLEAN DEFAULT FALSE,
INSTANCE IN BINARY_INTEGER DEFAULT ANY_INSTANCE,
FORCE IN BOOLEAN DEFAULT FALSE)
Use the parameters INSTANCE and FORCE to control job and instance affinity. The default value of INSTANCE is 0 (zero) to indicate that any instance can execute the job. To run the job on a certain instance, specify the INSTANCE value. Oracle displays error ORA-23319 if the INSTANCE value is a negative number or NULL.
The FORCE parameter defaults to FALSE. If force is TRUE, any positive integer is acceptable as the job instance. If FORCE is FALSE, the specified instance must be running, or Oracle displays error number ORA-23428.
DBMS_JOB.INSTANCE
To assign a particular instance to execute a job, use the following syntax:
DBMS_JOB.INSTANCE( JOB IN BINARY_INTEGER,
INSTANCE IN BINARY_INTEGER,
FORCE IN BOOLEAN DEFAULT FALSE)
The FORCE parameter in this example defaults to FALSE. If the instance value is 0 (zero), job affinity is altered and any available instance can execute the job despite the value of force. If the INSTANCE value is positive and the FORCE parameter is FALSE, job affinity is altered only if the specified instance is running, or Oracle displays error ORA-23428.
If the FORCE parameter is TRUE, any positive integer is acceptable as the job instance and the job affinity is altered. Oracle displays error ORA-23319 if the INSTANCE value is negative or NULL.
DBMS_JOB.CHANGE
To alter user-definable parameters associated with a job, use the following syntax:
DBMS_JOB.CHANGE( JOB IN BINARY_INTEGER,
WHAT IN VARCHAR2 DEFAULT NULL,
NEXT_DATE IN DATE DEFAULT NULL,
INTERVAL IN VARCHAR2 DEFAULT NULL,
INSTANCE IN BINARY_INTEGER DEFAULT NULL,
FORCE IN BOOLEAN DEFAULT FALSE )
Two parameters, INSTANCE and FORCE, appear in this example. The default value of INSTANCE is NULL indicating that job affinity will not change.
The default value of FORCE is FALSE. Oracle displays error ORA-23428 if the specified instance is not running and error ORA-23319 if the INSTANCE number is negative.
DBMS_JOB.RUN
The FORCE parameter for DBMS_JOB.RUN defaults to FALSE. If force is TRUE, instance affinity is irrelevant for running jobs in the foreground process. If force is FALSE, the job can run in the foreground only in the specified instance. Oracle displays error ORA-23428 if force is FALSE and the connected instance is the incorrect instance.
DBMS_JOB.RUN( JOB IN BINARY_INTEGER,
FORCE IN BOOLEAN DEFAULT FALSE) -
Tuning a procedure and using dbms_job.submit proc that call's functions
Hi
I have Procedure that have 3 curosrs which are nested one below with in each other
and it looks as below
it's structure will look some thing look like this
declare
empno_fetch number;
CURSOR deu_process IS
SELECT empno
FROM emp
WHERE flg_process = 'N'
AND ROWNUM <= 5000
ORDER BY empno;
CURSOR dup_all IS --c1 fetch around 400000 records
(select empno
from emp
where empno>l_empno
order by empno
where rownum<=empno_fetch;
CURSOR rules IS --c2
SELECT rule_id, rule_score, name_Of_func
FROM rule;
begin
l_count := 1;
OPEN dedupe_rule_attr;
LOOP
BEGIN
Here one loop is used for fetching 5000 records at time and
Here deu_process cursor is opened ,assume it fetches one record
Here another cursor dup_all is used for fetching the records and assume it fetched 400000 then
Here another cursor is opened name where it fetches 10 rows
Here logic is if first row then
call's stored function which has following functionalty
it compares fields such as address of outer most cursor i.e deu_process with all the address of the other rows i.e 400000 rows and return a number
if second row then
call's another stored function which has
compares other fields such as first name,last name
if third then other field
so on ....
up to 10
and then finally ends
so if i comment all the rules loop then it takes only one min to execute .If it validaes all of them if takes 14 minutes to execute .so there is problem in that 10 procedures to execute
So i found an approach to run all the rules simultaneously using dbms_job .But i face a problem that i can't uderstand how to send the input and out put parameter's to calling procedure.And these parameter's must be passed by variable from called procedure to calling procedure
Please suggest me what is the syntax of dbms_job with input and output parameters with variable's that must be passed as formal parameter's
Regarding DBMS_JOB.SUBMIT I am getting following error
Declare
x number:=1;

end;
using dbms_job.submit proc that call's functions which returns out and in parameters to calling procedure environment .I can't get this with out using data base table's.
If you have any method for this Plese suggest
And also please suggest me weather using job's is a good idea ,If not than suggest me what ever will the other approach.
Thank's and Regard's
vamsi krishnaHi <br>
I have looked at all sql trace file ,<br>
I found that there is no problem in sql statemens all of them are using proper <br>indexes execpt the folllowing statement<br>
<br>
SELECT nvl(COUNT(ref_appln_no),0)<br>
FROM ci_cust_dedupe_mast<br>
WHERE flg_mnt_status='A'<br>
<br>
This statement executes only once for 1*3,77000*10 times <br>
The function that i had sent previously executes more than 4000000*20 times .<br>
I think all it takes is only for iterations that are caused<br>
<br>
I am also sending sql trace for reference

Error in scheduling a mapping with sqlloader ctl file
Hi everyone,
I have been trying to schedule a single mapping which generates sqlloader ctl file. but i get the error
ORA-20001: Begin. initialize complete. workspace set. l_job_audit_execution_id= 20545. ORA-20001: Please check execution object is deployed correctly. ORA-01403: no data found ORA-06512: at "USER7.PMAP_TLOG_JOB", line 180 ORA-20001: Please check execution object is deployed correctly. ORA-01403: no data found
but when i attach this mapping with a process flow it works fine. There is no error.
so my question is in OWB is it a must that we should attach the mapping which generates sqlloader ctl file to a process flow and then schedule it or can we schedule a single mapping which generates sqlloader ctl file and what should be the process to schedule a single mapping which generates sqlloader ctl file?
can anyone please help?
Thanks & Regards
SubhasreeHi Nawneet,
Any suggestions?
can anybody else also help me in this error???

Runtime-Error after deploying a mapping with the generated script
For example a very easy scenario:
1. Create a table and a view in a DB-schema, witch ist registered as WB-target-schema with the following scripts:
create view v1(c1) as select 'a' c1 from dual;
create table t1(c1 varchar2(1));
2. Import the table and the view into a OWB-module
3. Create a mapping ‘m1’
4. Drag and drop view and table into the mapping
5. Draw an arrow from the view-column to the table-column
6. Save and close the mapping
7. Mark the mapping in the ‘Design Center’ and klick the ‘Generate’-Button
8. Save the generated script ‘M1.pls’ to file
9. Run the script in SQL*Plus, connected with the target-schema (without using the Control Center Manager)
=> very easy right now ;-)
10. Start the mapping with the following script will produce the following error
SQL> declare
2 v_status varchar2(100);
3 begin
4 m1.main(v_status);
5 end;
6 /

ORA-06512: at "SCOTT.M1", line 2048
ORA-06512: at line 4
If i delete or comment the four WB_RT_MAPAUDIT_UTIL-calls - it work´s fine!
But is this a good advise?
What exactly does the wrapped package ‘WB_RT_MAPAUDIT_UTIL do?
Thanks
jwehnerI just ran into the same problem myself. I used the same technique of saving the generated OWB script to file and then compiling it through sqlplus. When I used the "Deploy" option for the mapping, then the problem went away. So when OWB is deploying the code it seems to be setting something internally that doesn't get set when you simple compile the PL/SQL. I don't know of any workaround to this. I will need it eventually, since I don't want to use the UI to deploy to various test environments and production. Maybe the built-in scripting language is the way to go.

Issue in OWB mapping - when changing source and target database
Hi,
I need help for resolution of the issue I am facing when moving mapping from development environment to QA.
Here is situation,
We develop ETL using one source, one staging and one target database.
In development we use one control_center for Source to staging and another control center staging to target.
All works fine in development.
Now I have created new runtime repository and imported all OWB projects (with full dependencies, exact replica of development). Now I need to change source and staging and target as different database.
I have created new database location connections and defined/attached DB connectors with stage and target location.
Now issues are
1. Two Staging mapping are not able to bound with source table (giving different error
a. One mapping show error for source synonym translation no longer valid when deploying this mapping , but validation comes without any issue)
b. Other mapping show error for source table/object not bound to repository
2. All the target mapping show validation successful, but when deploying says “table or view does not exist”. But tables are exists on source stage and target. (also permission are set correctly for target user to read from staging tables).
Not sure how to proceed from here.
I have recreated new repository and re-imported all project/mappings and defined all connection but still same issue.
Thanks in advance,
Vipin1. Two Staging mapping are not able to bound with source table (giving different error
a. One mapping show error for source synonym translation no longer valid when deploying this mapping , but validation comes without any issue)
b. Other mapping show error for source table/object not bound to repository
The above error were resolved when re-synchronized the table (for few I have to reimport the table) and mapping.
2. All the target mapping show validation successful, but when deploying says “table or view does not exist”. But tables are exists on source stage and target. (also permission are set correctly for target user to read from staging tables).
The above error still pending. My target mapping are not able to deployed/compiled.
For the above I have defined one Staging location to one target target location and target location have connector to staging (not sure if I have to define connector name same as staging location, as I have created DB connector with different name but reference database is same as staging location).
Mapping are assoicated with desired data locatoin and meta data.
control center is also have that data location.
Mapping are configured for the desired location. -
Problem in OWB map for source change capture
The problem is as follows:-
Our OWB map between two different databases, captures change in data at source and populates them in target. It is a one to one map. The map is failing to process some rows from source database though it gives no:of errors as 0 in the audit view thus we infer that the map is running successfully.
In our case, we have a composite key ( Instance_id, Version_number) at source as well as target. One instance_id can has more than one version number. We have observed that the view is picking up all the version_number for a particular instance_id but the map is unable to populate the last version_number to the target table.
But when this map was executed in another environment and it is successfully populating all the data in the target.
The brief description of the map is as follows:-
The map has a view which captures all the changes in data (insert and update) .From this view we filter the rows which were already processed in previous map run (with help of watermark). Then we sort the rows based on DML type and watermark . These rows are then mapped to a target table. The loading type of the map is INSERT/UPDATE.Hi Nagesh,
When we are doing I18N for that Application. Go to Navigator Tab
Here Select Particular Projects--à src-àPackages-àsap-àvijay
To internationalize the Web Dynpro application, copy the automatically generated *.xlf files and save them under a new name in the same directory.
The new name must meet the following convention:
u2022 .xlf
For example, if you are creating *.xlf files for German,
Use the language key de.
Here Click on OK
After that we can edit and translate these new *.xlf files in the S2X Editor.
ApplyTemFirstView.wdview_de.xlf-àClick on Resource Text Tab
Select Particular Text and Change the language to German-àClick on EDIT Button
Here Enter German Lang-àClick on OK
Now Go to Web Dynpro Explorer Tab
Select Project-àRC Click on Rebuild Project
Select Project-àRC Click on Reload
Then Deploye the Application
How to Check in Explorer. It is converting to German Language or not
Open Internet Explorer
Tool-àInternet Options -àClick on Languages Button-àClick on ADD Button
Select German Language--àClick on OK
Now We will Check in Portal
Created Web Dynpro iView in Portal. That iView assign to the particular WorkSet-àAssign to Role
Select that user Can Change Language

I need your expert opinion on how to create a map with multiple conditions.
Hello.
I need your expert opinion on how to create a map with multiple conditions.
I have a procedure (which i cannot import or re-create in OWB due to the bug), so i am trying to create a map instead :-(
How can i create a cursors within the map?
My function creates table and cursor.
Then it will have to check for duplicates in the tables (the one created and another table) - the criteria for finding duplicates is a number of fields.I then need to place few different conditions (if some attributes are not available) and it has to load cursor based on this conditions. The next step is to fetch the data into the cursor based on what attributes are missing.
The next thing it will do is insert the data into table (if record doesn't exist), output the error in separate table is record is corrupted, or update the record with changed information.
In short i need to re-create match / merge but with conditions, iterations etc 'built into' it.
I can read up on available functions - it's just what would be the best options? and what would be the best approach to do so?
In my function i use %rowtype - but cannot use it in owb - so what would be the alternative? i don't really want to create a lot of variables and then have a nightmare of maintaing it. are there any tips regarding this?
having looked through Oracle dedupe - it's not really what i need because it is just DISTINCT.
I would appreciate any help / advise on this.
Thank you very muchthanks a lot for your reply - i will look into this option :-)
it is a bit more complicated now as i have to re-create the match / merge and then somehow 'tweak' it to achieve the result i need.
At the moment i am looking to breakdown the package into smaller chunks 'functions' and try creating the map that way.
Anyway, thank you very much for your suggestion. -
I am trying to use a case statement in an OWB mapping. I am attempting to use it in expression builder within a filter object. Each time I try to validate the expression in the expression builder I get an error:
Line 4, Col 6:
PL/SQL: ORA-00920: invalid relational operator
Below is the code used in the expression builder window:
CASE A.ATTRIBUTE_NAME
WHEN 'CA COMPLETION DATE' THEN RTRIM(A.C_CODE_VALUE)
ELSE NULL
END
Any help with what is happening would be appreciated.
Thank you.
MattThank you both for you help. I initially tried to use the expression operator but was confused since the expression builder in the expression operator has the drop down list with the available SQL clauses greyed out. In the OWB documentation it states that the drop down will contain SQL clauses that are appropriate for that expression type so when I saw it was greyed out I assumed that those clauses where not valid for this operator. Sure enough though when I pasted in my Case statement it verified correctly.
Thanks again,
Matt
