OWB v9.0.4.8.21 -- invalid zip file

Hi,
I have downloaded OWB 4 or 5 times in the last few days, and each time, the file size is less than the 479 MB reported on the ftp control screen. When I open winzip, I get the message that the file is not a valid zip file: End-of-central-directory signature not found. Either this file is not a Zip file, or it constitutes one disk of a multi-part Zip file.
I have downloaded several large zips in recent days also, (92 patch, JDeveloper patch, etc,) but no problems with any of these. Any ideas why this file might be so "squirrelly"?
Thanks,
Scott Rappoport

Manoj,
It seems to me that your question had better be asked in the Warehouse Builder forum: Warehouse Builder
Could you please ask your question there?

  • Invalid Zip file error after downloading Solaris 8

    Every time i download the solaris 8 binaries i keep getting the error "Cannot open file - It does not appear to be a valid archive" when trying to unzip the files using winzip 8. Also the files take very long to download as they are 300MB approx... but after all this time it says the files are only a few MB's in size! Can anyone shed some light as to what is happening here???
    Thanks

    I was getting a similar, if not the same, problem when I used IE 5.5 to download the file. It used to start extracting then stop about 75% of the way through and dump some error about the archive being corrupt and not being able to open it. After installing Netscape and disabling the download manager application, I was able to download and extrac the zip files with winzip 8 and also winrar without any problems.

  • ZipOutputStream creates invalid zip

    I am using ZipOutputStream, and it is creating invalid zip files. The problem is, it is inserting extra bytes into the data, always between the LOC entry and the data for the file. The extra bytes cause the affected file to be unrecoverable.
    These extra bytes are also not accounted for in the 'written' count, so the end-of-archive directory has offsets that don't point at valid LOC entries. Sometimes unzip can recover from this, and sometimes not. The result is, only a subset of files in the zip can be unzipped.
    I am able to remove the extra bytes using 'dd', and then the file unzips correctly.
    I've stepped through the code in the debugger, and can't find any reason why they should be present. I suspect the Deflater's JNI native code. (It occurs in deflated files, I am not using 'store'.) It occurs regardless of compression level.
    This may or may not be relevant, but the bytes always seem to be a repeating pattern of 0x0a090909.
    This problem occurs in Java 1.5.0_07, 1.5.0_14, and 1.6.0_03.

    Here is an example error message coming from 'unzip' for one of these files:
    Archive:  export.zip
    warning [export.zip]:  2 extra bytes at beginning or within zipfile
      (attempting to process anyway)
    file #1:  bad zipfile offset (local header sig):  2
      (attempting to re-compensate)...
      inflating: Test Results for test4/4._Test_Results_for_00Kris/4.3._Test_Results_for_Routing_Robot_1237/4.3.1._Component_Description/contents.txt
      error:  invalid compressed data to inflate
    file #20:  bad zipfile offset (local header sig):  4633
      (attempting to re-compensate)And, here is a hexdump of an affected part of the file. The extra bytes follow "contents.txt". This trashes the file data, and pushes the LOC for the next file 4 bytes later than the directory thinks it should be.
    And, incidentally, this occurs consistently for the same files every time.

  • Cannot extract Zip file with Winzip after zipping with java.util.zip

    Hi all,
    I write a class for zip and unzip the text files together which can be zip and unzip successfully with Java platform. However, I cannot extract the zip file with Winzip or even WinRAR after zipping with Java platform.
    Please help to comment, thanks~

    Tried~
    The problem is still here~ >___<
    Anyway, thanks for information sharing~
    The message is:
    Cannot open file: it does not appear to be a valid archive.
    If you downloaded this file, try downloading the file again.
    The problem may be here:
    if (fos != null)
    fos.close() ;
    if (bos != null)
    bos.close();
    if (zos != null)
    zos.close();
    if (file != null)
    file = null ;
    The fos is closed before bos so the last buffer is not
    saved.
    zos.close() is enough.

  • How do I display an invalid zip code in a summary table

    On my airshow website we have a feedback form, one of the questions is the zipcode where the visitor came from. This works fine. The summary results tab includes a lookup for the zipcode where I show the city associated with the zipcode and then how many responses came from that zipcode. This can be seen here http://www.hollisterairshow.com/feedback-results.php?tab=7
    In testing, I found that an invalid zipcode is not displayed in the summary table, although it is counted in the total number of responses. I'd like to display the invalid zipcode and leave the City blank, or maybe put "Invalid zip code". The current code is displayed below, it's beyond my ability to figure out how I should change it to display invalid zipcodes and I'd really appreciate some direction on this.
    I know I could validate the zipcode on entry but it's quite possible the zipcode table I have is out of date and i can't find a free downloadable list, so I'm thinking anything invalid could cause me to update my table.which is fine.
    Thanks for any assistance.
    Tony
    <div class="TabbedPanelsContent">
    <?php
    // Make a MySQL Connection
    $query = "SELECT feedback.zip, COUNT(feedback.zip), zipcodes.citystate FROM feedback, zipcodes WHERE feedback.zip = zipcodes.zipcode GROUP BY feedback.zip";
    $result = mysql_query($query) or die(mysql_error());
    // Print out result
    while($row = mysql_fetch_array($result))
    echo $row['zip']. " ". $row['COUNT(feedback.zip)']. " ". $row['citystate'];
    echo "<br />";
    ?>
    </div>

    Use an outer join on the two tables so that results are returned for all feedback rows, instead of just matching rows. The column zipcodes.citystate will be NULL. In your recordset output, you can test for null in the column and populate it with "Invalid Zipcode" if you want.
    You'll need to move the join to the FROM clause as I believe that MySQL does not support outer joins in the WHERE clause like most other DBMS's.

  • Foundation Services install file1 64bit zip file invalid

    Hi forum,
    I have downloaded the zip files for the Hyperion Foundation Services for installing 11.1.2.2. (http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/epm/downloads/epm-1112x-1584981.html - Window 64bit version) however, when unzipping the File1 (Foundation-11122-amd64-Part1.zip), I get an invalid file error. I have managed to open the file and extract the information from is, but I believe it is still corrupt as I am unable to launch the install tool (the command prompt opens for a fraction of a second and closes again).
    Can anyone help with this? Does anyone have an uncorrupted version of the file? Any advice please?
    Many thanks!

    Alright Mr Shanahan,
    Try downloading the files from Oracle Software Delivery - https://edelivery.oracle.com/
    They are under Oracle Enterprise Performance Management System.

  • Problem on windows xp with downloaded zip file

    Hi,
    I have written a JSP to download file which is as follows
    try
    response.setContentType("application/download");
    response.setHeader("Content-Disposition","attachment;filename=<FileName>");
    int iRead;
    FileInputStream stream = null;
    try

    stream = new FileInputStream(f);
    while ((iRead = stream.read()) != -1)
    out.write(iRead);
    out.flush();
    finally
    if (stream != null)
    stream.close();
    catch(Exception e)
    //out.println("Exception : "+e);
    After downloading zip file, could not extract files on windows XP by using any tool or built-in extractor i.e. compressed(zipped)folders (error: compressed folder invalid or corrupted).
    But this works on win2k or win98
    How can i work with it or can anyone tell me a solution to handle such a problem.
    Thanks in advance.

    This could be a problem with the built-in ZIP program in Win XP - it's possible that the ZIP you are downloading (uploading?) is simply incompatible with the XP program. In Win 98 & 2000, you would have to use your own ZIP program, e.g. Winzip, and that can handle more formats that the XP program.
    Try installing the same ZIP program that you have on w98/2k on your XP machine, and see if you can open the uploaded file using it.

  • Zip file as a SOAP attachment problem

    I have an application that sends a zip file as an attachment. I have the file stored on the server and before I send it, I delete and/or add some files in the archive. I use the zip util packages for the zip file editing. I encode it to base64 and then send it as an attachment using SAAJ.
    On the receiving end, I decode it and write it out to disk. Winzip opens the file ok, but when I try to open individual files I get either corrupted data or wrong crc errors. Some files open ok.
    For debugging right before I encode and send it, I write it out to a temp file. Using Winzip, I can open and access any file ok. When I compare this temp file with the response version, they match up. The file properties (size, compressed size, crc) match for those files I can't open.
    I use the com.sun.mail.util.BASE64EncoderStream and com.sun.mail.util.BASE64DecoderStream classes for the base64 operations.
    The errors are:
    1) Warning: the size of the extracted file (570) does not match the uncompressed size (63) recorded in the zip file
    or
    2) Error: invalid compressed data to inflate
    Any help would be greatly appreciated, or general advice for sending zips as SOAP attachments.

    Would you mind, can u send the code pls...

  • Set the password for zip file in unix

    Hi All,
    I have used the below command to zip the file and it is working fine.
    cd /YYYY;zip -r ZZZZ.zip ZZZZ.TXT

    Can you please help me how to set the password for zip file in UNIX.
    Thanks,

    Do you use any characters in the password that might confuse the zip command? (like '-' or ';'?)
    If I use the command in RHEL4:

  • Mac zip files won't open in Windows PC

    I have been right clicking and compressing raw .mov video files to send from the UK to Australia via wetransfer. I am using a Macbook Pro with Mountain Lion. Each set of zipped files is between 3GB - 8GB in size and they (compress) and zip and send fine. But my client is on a Windows PC and only now tells me they are having problems opening the "zip" files I have sent them. They get the message that the zip is "invalid". Any ideas what can be wrong here? I tested them on my Mac by reopening and they work file.
    Many thanks in advance.

    Step one would be to try them on a local windoze box. That should give you some indication of what might be wrong. Alternatively, try the Terminal command gzip. Read about it by typing in man gzip in a Terminal window and then pressing the return key.

  • Adding a folder to a zip file

    How can I add a folder to a zip file. What I want is to create a txt file, which I place in a regular folder,  then place the regular folder in a zipped folder. They all (folder, file , and zip) need to be the same name also, so the directory would be as an example C:\Desktop > runner.zip > runner > runner.txt or something similar. So far I can create a zip file, and I can create a regular folder and place the txt document in the regular folder, but i cannot seem to be able to put the regular folder in the zip folder. I get an error saying: "LabVIEW:  An input parameter is invalid. For example if the input is a path, the path might contain a character not allowed by the OS such as ? or @." It creates the zip file, and also the other folder with the txt file in it, but it wont put the regular folder in the zip file.
    Thanks ahead of time

    are you using the example file or the same code as the above screen shot? So i think my problem is I have been trying to addd the folder to a zip file I created, whereas I think that if I just zip up the folder that has the txt file in it, I will then have a zip file which contains a folder which contains the txt file, is this correct?
    I'm using the code in the screenshot (I whipped up the example quickly to see if I could get it to work, so it probably isn't the best or cleanest way to do it).
    [The example code from NI should work, but is probably more than you need].
    You zip files, but you tell the VI which folder within the zip file (i.e. relative to the zip file) you want them to go in.
    Just like how you might have a folder tree on your C drive
    animals
    ->mammals
    ---->four_legs
    -------->delicious
    -------->thinks_you_are_delicious
    ---->two_legs
    ->birds
    ---->can_fly
    ---->cannot_fly
    ->fish
    ---->salt_water
    ---->fresh_water
    You can have the same structure in the zip file.
    For instance a photo of a flathead (a type of salt water fish)..
    the file might be flathead.jpg with the path within the zip would be fish\salt_water\flathead.png
    on the other hand a tiger photo
    the file would be tiger.png but the path would be mammals\four_legs\thinks_you_are_delicious\tiger.png

  • ERROR: invalid backup file version. Exception: Error while unzipping invalid wcs 7.x export file

    Hi,
    I'm having a serious issue with your brend new Cisco Prime Network Control System (NCS) and i would appreciate if someone could give me good answers.
    After a background backup task failure, the database was entirelly corrupted and the oracle server no longuer wanted to start. And because of that the NCS web server is unusable, since no one can log in.
    We tryed to restore to last known backup obtained after a former suucessful backup. But we get this error:
    "ERROR: invalid backup file version. Exception: Error while unzipping invalid wcs 7.x export file"
    All the lost data was previously migrated from the former WCS 7.x server. Before this issue everything was working fine.
    So we think that the appliance is seeing the backup file from NCS as a WCS backup.
    We need to find rapidly a solution. Here is our configuration:
    We formerly had WCS 7.0.172.0 hosted on Microsoft Windows Server 2003  SP2 with the above caracteristics:
    Intel(R)Xeon(R) CPU  5120 @ 1.86Ghz 1.87Ghz 16GB of RAM.
    We now have NCS  Version 1.1.1.24 running under Cisco Application Deployment  Engine
    OS Release:  2.0
    ADE-OS Build Version: 2.0.1.038
    ADE-OS System Architecture:  x86_64

    I was getting this error too. TL;DR: When you transfer the wcs.zip file to your FTP server, make sure you are using BINARY mode... which is often NOT the default FTP mode.
    Long Version:
    TO GET THIS ERROR, what I had done was use the Windows CLI FTP command to transfer my "wcs.zip" to the NCS FTP server.
    -----BEGIN WRONG STEPS-----
    C:\ftp
    ftp> open x.x.x.x
    Connected to x.x.x.x.
    220 Service ready for new user
    User (x.x.x.x:(none)): ftp-user
    331 User name okay, need password for ftp-user
    Password:
    230 User logged in, proceed
    ftp> put wcs.zip
    200 Command PORT okay
    150 File status okay; about to open data connection
    226 Closing data connection
    ftp: 526768949 bytes sent blah blah etc
    -----END WRONG STEPS-----
    I would then run "ncs stop" and "ncs migrate" and get the "ERROR: invalid backup file version. Exception: Error while unzipping invalid wcs 7.x export file".
    I remembered something from my misspent youth: Windows, for no good reason, likes to transfer files in ASCII mode. UNIX (which LINUX comes from) prefers BINARY, and the two do not like to negotiate.
    TO FIX THIS, I had to just FTP in Binary mode.
    -----BEGIN RIGHT STEPS-----
    C:\ftp
    ftp> open x.x.x.x
    Connected to x.x.x.x.
    220 Service ready for new user
    User (x.x.x.x:(none)): ftp-user
    331 User name okay, need password for ftp-user
    Password:
    230 User logged in, proceed
    ftp> binary
    200 Command TYPE okay
    ftp> put wcs.zip
    200 Command PORT okay
    150 File status okay; about to open data connection
    226 Closing data connection
    ftp: 526768949 bytes sent blah blah etc
    -----END RIGHT STEPS-----
    NOW when I enter "ncs stop" (actually... had to restart them... then stop them... x.x) and then the proper "ncs migrate" commands, I get a happy output and don't have to go home late troubleshooting this.

    I hope this helps anyone banging their head against the WCS->PI1.3 install wall.
    (Note, WCS needs to be migrated to NCS 1.1.1.24 (NOT NCS 1.1.3!!!!!) before you can migrate to Prime Infrastructure 1.2 or 1.3, because for no readily apparent reason the "ncs migrate" command was removed from PI 1.2 and up. Also note, there is no "Prime Infrastructure 1.1;" they just renamed NCS to Prime Infrastructure after NCS 1.1 because. Yes, the sentence ends there. Great products, all 3, just... agonizing to migrate.)
