Pacman error:No address record
Recently when I executed: pacman Syu there were errors like:
error: failed retrieving file 'current.db.tar.gz' from ftp.linux.kiev.ua : No address record
error: failed retrieving file 'current.db.tar.gz' from mirror.pacific.net.au : No address record
error: failed to synchronize current: No address record
This was also happening with community and extra. Then I did some searching and found out that the repositories were changed, that pacman had a new version and manualy upgraded all, but I still get the same error... Here is my /etc/pacman.conf file
# /etc/pacman.conf

How to fix?
Last edited by Dheart (2007-05-27 19:24:00)
I`ve experienced the same problem during playing with Arch repositories, mirrors, local caches etc. However I lost posibility to connect with remote repositories, kdemod as well.
error: failed retrieving file 'kdemod-legacy.db.tar.gz' from kdemod.ath.cx : No address record
error: failed to synchronize kdemod-legacy: No address record
Annoying thing
Wget behave the same.
Then I found that this thing is related with broken IPv6.
wget -4
or with
--disable-ipv6
option retrieved its functionality.
Does anybody know what internal fault could cause this $hit?

[SOLVED] Pacman error: failed retrieving file : No address record
I just installed Arch on a x86 laptop using the cd as the package source. I wanted to do a net install, but when I attempted to (regardless of the mirror) I got many responses from pacman in tty7 of "No address record". This happened despite having a network connection and being able to ping any site from the cli.
After installing, I am still having the same problem. The laptop is plugged in via ethernet, and I can ping any site I want, but a call to pacman -Syyu just returns numerous errors such as
error: failed retrieving file 'core.db' from mirror.rit.edu : No address record
And just as a test, I was getting replies when pinging mirror.rit.edu.
Last edited by process91 (2011-11-18 18:21:17)Try the following steps:
1 - Set the VirtualBox Networking option to NAT
2 - Start the arch machine in the VirtualBox
3 - Edit /etc/rc.conf as a dynamic IP:
HOSTNAME="arch"
interface=eth0
address=
netmask=
broadcast=
gateway=
4 - Run dhcpcd
5 - Try to ping a couple of sites, or your router
If you still can't ping or anything, I suggest you start a new thread specifically about your problem. Include the output from "ipconfig -a". You're not going to get much help from posting in a thread marked "[SOLVED]".

Cannot sync pacman; error: failed retrieving file, No address record
Hello,
As a heads up, I'm trying not to repost
I've searched the forums but found nothing, I'll keep looking. I've read the front page news about the mirrorlist and tried using the old mirrorlist file. I've been on #archlinux on IRC. Nothing yet.
Here is an example of what I see:
root@dungeon pacman.d # pacman -Sy
:: Synchronizing package databases...
error: failed retrieving file 'core.db.tar.gz' from ftp.archlinux.org : No address record
error: failed to update core (No address record)
error: failed retrieving file 'extra.db.tar.gz' from ftp.archlinux.org : No address record
error: failed to update extra (No address record)
error: failed retrieving file 'community.db.tar.gz' from ftp.archlinux.org : No address record
error: failed to update community (No address record)
error: failed to synchronize any databases
I've commented out all but one of the servers in the mirrorlost file to shorten the output.
Any ideas?Snowman wrote:You are trying to fetch non-official dbs which are not on the Arch Linux mirrors. Are you using Chakra? Post your pacman.conf
no I am using normal Arch, and it was working fine until i updated on tuseday. I am using "yaourt -Syu --aur" to update.

No address record error during installation
Definitely new to linux
I'm following the beginners' guide. I've got to the point in which I Select Packages and get the error:
Packman preparation failed!
Check /dev/tty7 for errors
When I check /dev/tty7 I see:
Using mirror: ftp://mirrors2.kernel.org/archlinux/$repo/os/x86_64
[LOG] 2011-05-12 13:19:08 *** Executing worker runtime_packages

: : Synchronizing package databases...
error: failed retrieving file 'core.db.tar.gz' from mirrors2.kernel.org : No address record
error : failed to update core (No address record)
error : failed synchronizing any databases
So I've been searching the forum for the last couple of hours. I've pinged google and the mirror successfully several times so I think my network settings are all gravy. What I see is that the mirror address has been changed from what I typed in. I typed: "http://mirrors2.kernel.org/archlinux/core/os/x86_64" and when it runs "core" is changed to "$repo"
This is the only thing I can find, and I have no idea how to keep this from happening. Any help would be very much appreciated!lilsirecho wrote:
Perhaps there is a missing element in the mirror selection.
Thus: from /etc/pacman.d:
Server = ftp://locke.suu.edu/linux/dist/archlinux/$repo/os/$arch
#Server = ftp://lug.mtu.edu/archlinux/ftpfull/$repo/os/$arch
The install procedure for dual .iso provides a long list of mirrors and locke is near the bottom.
I installed recently using the above FTP install with no difficulty.
The mirror you used worked just great for me! It's also convenient because suu isn't very far from me at all.
I'm now not really sure what was wrong earlier. It looks like it's just the mirror I chose, though I restarted the installation since posting and may have done something differently when setting up the network.
Thanks though! I can't wait to see what arch is all about! -
Pacman error: failed to synchronize any databases
I just installed Arch on my machine and tried running pacman -Syu only to have it tell me that it failed to update any repos, retrieve any files, or synchronize any databases. I have an internet connection and I've tried several different mirrors. What's going on?

Hi forum,
I am doing a new installation of arch on my new pc, so i followed the guide on the wiki and all seemed well, so i rebooted and got ready to install my gui, ran pacman -Syy and i get a bunch of errors that look like this:
::Synchronising package databases...
error: failed retrieving file 'core.db' from mirrors.kernel.org : No address record
error: failed retrieving file 'core.db' (repeats with all my other mirrors) : No address record
error: failed to update core (No address record)

error: failed retrieving file 'community.db' from mirrors.kernel.org : No address record
error: blah blah blah all my other mirrors : No address record
error: failed to update community (Guess what? No address record)
error: Failed to synchronise any databases :-(
What have i done wrong? I do have a history of not doing things right and as a consequence have triggered the "bailing out, your on your own, good luck" error multiple times. I suspect i have not configured network properly, im on eth0 like everyone else.
Any help is greatly appreciated, i am anxious to see the sexy-looking kde4 desktop again!

Do you have a flash drive or anything?
You could always grab netcfg package, install that and try get the net up with that.
www.archlinux.org/packages/core/any/netcfg/download/
and
https://www.archlinux.org/packages/extra/i686/ifplugd/download/
or
https://www.archlinux.org/packages/extra/x86_64/ifplugd/download/
Other then that I have no other ideas, re-install is never the best option really, fight it! -
PO is getting created but showing error is address with status of IDoc - 51
Hi Experts,
I am using IDoc type - PORDCR103
Process code - copy of IDOC_INPUT_PORDCR1 (Function Module)
After processing through WE19 it is generating an IDoc number with status - 51 showing error in Address , But it is creating a PO.
My requirement is In status -51 It should not create PO.
Inside IDOC_INPUT_PORDCR1 a Bapi 'BAPI_PO_CREATE1' is used for creating PO. Here In RETURN parameter of BAPI a Row is comming with Message type - E. Some other messages are also there of type 'S' and 'W'.
After processing , PO is getting created with staus - 51.
Please help me .
Thanks
Susanta

in ur code ur filling the idoc data rcord, control record ryt ..before u append data to idoc data , u r also validating and u might be doing in loop for appening the idoc data.
if there is any error in idoc then it won't distribute the data, it will be in error status only..u can only see the data in WE02. Then u can also change the data in WE02 and redistirbute it via BD87.
if u have any conerns let me know

Error determining address for Employee
Hi Experts,
We are running SRM 5.5 (add-on) in a local scenario.
We have an issue with one employee, where they won't show with a relationship to their Org unit.
The employee has a current employee record, has a valid user id, is assigned in the Org structure and has a Business Partner. If you look at the Business Partner via transaction BP there is no relationships, if you try to repair the employee using BBP_BP_OM_INTEGRATE you get the follwoing error "Error determining address for employee DD4D5C1DB62512F19E9700144F45F5BF".
Do you have an suggestions as to what the issue may be or where we are able to veiw the address for the Business Partner?
Thanking you in Advance.hi,
This error is mainly because of the missing addresses for the Organizational units (under which the employee is assigned)on R/3 side.
Check whether the address for the org unit are maintained on the R/3 side i.e infotype 1028.
If not,you need to maintain those on the R/3 side.Even if you try to maintain an address for the org unit on SRM side in PPOMA_BBP,you will not be able to correct this error.
See these related notes:(these are for older vesrions but will give you an idea abt the error)
Note 502564 - Correcting incorrect users
Note 419423 - Repairing incorrect EBP users

in an attempt to transfer FSMO roles to the 2012r2 DC the first thing I ran was dcdiag /e /c /v and after correcting some minor errors, I came upon this one in the DNS portion where a SRV record is missing and I have no idea how to fix/remove this. there's
only two DCs, 200.5 and 200.6 where the former is a Hyper-V VM running 2012r2 and the latter is a physical 2003r2 machine. I was able to successfully raise the levels to 2003 and join the 2012r2 DC. this missing SRV record does not look fatal and only warrants
a warning from dcdiag, however I would like to fix this so there's no trouble down the road. I've tried ipconfig /registerdns, but no dice. here is the message I'm concerned about:

Warning: Record Registrations not found in some network adaptersHi Ace Fekay, thank you for your help. I hope you're still with me despite my lack of responding. I needed time to move the VPN server from the DC to a separate VM and then following your instructions to disable WINS Proxy and IP routing. Some of the delay
was when I had to restart the 2003r2 server after disabling those two items since that cause DNS queries to the Internet to go unresolved with only the 2012r2 server. That's been corrected, but running dcdiag /c /e /v still gives some DNS problems. Here's
the latest run of that...

Getting error " Incomplete update due to error in single records"
Dear All,
We are loading data from DSO to Cube using full load and the load is failing giving an error message Collection in the source system ended and when checked the error message button it is showing as " Incomplete update due to error in single records" . and also one more message "Messages (type E) for data records with record number 0
Message no. RSM2714". Can any one tell us the reason for the failure of this load ? and how to resolve it ?.
When we click on the help button of the error message it is displaying the message as below
Incomplete update due to errors in single records --> Long text
Message no. RSM2712
Diagnosis
In the update rules, one InfoSource record was used to create several records in the data target. These records must be handled in the same way to enable tracking into the PSA and the treatment of errors in individual records.
In the previous case, one record was updated in this kind of group generated by update rules, whereas other records in the same group were rejected. If you updated the PSA data record again, the records that were already updated would be updated again. Duplicate records would appear in the data target and the data target would thus be inconsistent.
System Response
The data record with errors was highlighted in the PSA. However, no error request was generated.
Procedure
Delete the request in the data target and, after removing the error, update all records for the request to the data target again.
Regards,
JayaKrishnahi,
Can you please check out the PSA error record and check this out in Source DSO as this load is for DSO -> Cube....
Please correct it in PSA if this is not correct as per DSO ....prior correcting data in PSA pls delete the request from Cube.....then it will allow to correct or delete record in PSA and then further push data from PSA to Target Cube...
If its correct as per DSO then run load in DSO sometime few records wrongly updated by end user and they correct it by evening for Submission....So u will get the corrected record and then run manually further load to Cube...
Hope this will help....
Regards,
Mahesh -
Hi Guys,
For the past one week I have been struggling to import draft A/R invoices into SAP Business One 9.0 PL 07. The database to which i'm doing this import continually returns the error "no matching records met ........." during simulation and also import stage.
Interestingly, I noticed that import picks draft invoices with only one row detail leaving out the ones with more than one row details. I desperately need a solution to this issue as my client is scheduled to go live coming Monday.
A sample of the structure of the data is below for your review and advice:

Error while saving record "User:johndoe": Error -14071
I have added my augmented users from the AD server. When I select user and to apply a setting under Preferences I get this on attempting an "Apply", Error while saving record "User:johndoe":Error -14071. I'm authenticating to my LDAP not AD/All Domains.
I have the server bound correctly to the AD server. Bound to AD, then promoted to OD master.
Tried WGM from another Mac, same error.
I recall my AD admin extending the ad schema last year for OS X 10.4.
Thoughts? Thanks. Thanks David and Mabel, and all for the suggestions. I did go through "Leveraging Active..." prior to posting. I did try your method of canceling the authorization to WGM and viewing Directories. I would select a user from this method and try to apply something from MCX, but still got the -14070 error. Yes, I do have my client bound 1st OD, 2nd AD, with OD first on the search policy for the client.
I though I had solved my issue by authenticating to WGM and LDAP. Then selecting Groups and the Members tab, I define an OD group and select that group. I can then click the "+" towards the right of the window. Then select my AD there which populates. I can add my AD groups or single users to my OD group. Then I'm able to apply MCX settings. But, no "blue" circle next to the group's silhouette. How is my method possibly incorrect?
Also, at some point I unbound my client from AD and it seems the client is ok with getting AD info off my OD server. Example, my AD sharepoint mounts for PHD.
But, I do have a pause of 20 secs. are more when logging into the client as well as accessing applications. Side effect of my method? -
