IIRC, I had to make a symbolic link with libgmp.so.1 a long time ago, but not too sure. Any help appreciated, thanks

Hi,
I've just installed a Solaris 9 and gcc-3.4.2 (from sunfreeware.com) on a Sun Blade 1500.
#uname -a
SunOS dove 5.9 Generic_117171-07 sun4u sparc SUNW,Sun-Blade-1500
Upon running my application, a runtime error occured.
ld.so.1: CMC: fatal: relocation error: file /usr/lib/librt.so: symbol priocntl: referenced symbol not found
I've traced my code to were it had encountered a problem. It seems that the error occured whenever a pthread_create() function is executed.
Originally my application was developed under a Solaris 8 environment. No runtime errors occured during that time.
I think there's a problem with the Solaris 9 /usr/lib/librt.so.1 file.
Could you please help me.
I deeply appreciate it.hi, take a look at:

Anyone can help me tracing in which package the missing file is located (if it's not in compiz-core)?
Last edited by dexgeh (2012-10-16 17:58:39)I managed to solve the issue commenting the --indirect-rendering flag and installing and launching driconf to create a default ~/.drirc file.
I just noticed that in the same upgrade I got intel-dri from 8.x to 9.x version, maybe it's related.
Launching a terminal in .xinitrc and manually launching
LIBGL_DEBUG=verbose compiz --debug --replace ccp
show me a lot of errors, but it's working, and I don't need anymore the --indirect-rendering flag (in the past I put that flag in the command because of the bad performance that compiz had without). -
I've just tried to install the stable "google-chrome" package from AUR with the command. I have all of the dependencies already installed except for these two:
- libjpeg6 (building from AUR)
- libpng12 (package found)
When the package manage tries to install "libpng12-1.2.43-1", I get the following error:
error: failed to commit transaction (conflicting files)
libpng12: /usr/lib/libpng.so.3 exists in filesystem
Errors occurred, no packages were upgraded.
According to the file manager (Thunar), the file /usr/lib/libpng.so.3 is a link to /usr/lib/libpng.so.
This is probably a silly question (as I'm a clueless newbie!) but... can I just delete this link and expect the installation of libpng12 to replace it so that everything will still work...?
Thanks in advance :-)

Xorg fails with "/usr/lib/libexpat.so.1: invalid ELF header"
After upgrade, Xorg fails with the following message:
(EE) AIGLX error: dlopen of usr/lib/xorg/modules/dri/i965_dri.so failed (/usr/lib/libexpat.so.1: invalid ELF header)
(EE) AIGLX: reverting to software rendering

Thanks for any help.
Last edited by marimo (2010-01-24 07:12:25)If it were different architectures, there would be an ELF class error. Assuming that all of the installed libraries are from the Arch repos, I'm betting that expat is corrupt. I would reinstall expat and see if that solves the problem.

Having issues with /usr/lib/libfreeimageplus.so.3 exists in filesystem
Hello!
On sunday I did a pamcan -Suy and it fails showing:
error: failed to commit transaction (conflicting files)
freeimage: /usr/lib/libfreeimageplus.so.3 exists in filesystem
It is trying to install: Packages (9): farstream-0.1-0.1.2-4 freeimage-3.16.0-2 gnome-desktop-sharp-2.26.0-10
gtkhtml-sharp-2.26.0-9 [removal] gtksourceview2-sharp-2.26.0-10
libgnome-desktop-sharp-2.26.0-10 rsvg2-sharp-2.26.0-10 vte-sharp-2.26.0-10
wnck-sharp-2.26.0-10
And I did this:
pacman -Qo /usr/lib/libfreeimageplus.so.3
error: No package owns /usr/lib/libfreeimageplus.so.3
Any idea? what to do?Luuuciano:
So, I'm having the same problem. I'm relatively new to Arch: I've just been using it a month or two, and I'm not entirely sure what the wiki is telling me to do when it says to "rename" the file. Would you please elaborate for me? I would really appreciate your help.
Thank you,

Websharing (apache) error missing /usr/lib/libpq.5.dylib
My webserver wouldn't start up under lion, it said I was 'missing' /usr/lib/libpq.5.dylib
I looked at my iMac mini server running lion and noticed that /usr/lib/libpq.5.dylib was a symbolic link to /usr/lib/libpq.5.3.dylib
So, I did the following:
as root# cd /usr/lib
sh-3.2# ln -s libpq.5.3.dylib libpq.5.dylib
It's as happy as a clam.. so am I.I'm having this problem too.

I have no idea what any of this means. I get the same error after I download the Binary Codex for PowerPC and install that. I deleted all files in anyway related to mplayer, then reinstalled everything, and I get the same result. Any help would be most appreciated.
For all the problems I've been having I wish I hadn't upgraded. Can't seem to get the old version to work anymore either. -
Pacman error with "/usr/share/man exists in filesystem"
I'm installing archlinux.
Follwing beginners guide, I'm now installing some booting packages, dosfools,efibootmgr, grub. Install Boot loader
But every time I type
pacman -S grub
it makes error

Same error occurs for other packages wich same error messages.
I formatted all disk using mkfs.ext4 command.. Why this error occur?Trilby wrote:What is the output of `pacman -Qo /usr/share/man` as suggested here?

[SOLVED]pacman upgrade: error# failed to prepare transaction
Whenever I am trying to install some packages using pacman, I get a message to upgrade pacman. When I say 'yes', I get an error message.

This started after adding a new mirror and performing "pacman -Syu" (I was trying to install firefox in arch, which didn't go through even with different mirrors).
What should I do now to upgrade pacman?

[SOLVED] Pacman Dependency error with nouveau-dri and libgl
I am upgrading my system with
sudo pacman -Syu
The out put is as follows:
:: Synchronizing package databases...
testing is up to date
core is up to date
extra is up to date
community is up to date
:: Starting full system upgrade...
resolving dependencies...
looking for inter-conflicts...
error: failed to prepare transaction (could not satisfy dependencies)
:: nouveau-dri: requires libgl=7.10.1
It seems that the newest libgl is 7.10.2-1, while the newest nouveau-dri(7.10.1-2) requires 7.10.1-1. An upgrade operation will upgrade the libgl from 7.10.1-1 to 7.10.2-1, which result in a conflict with nouveau-dri.
Is there any workaround? Do I have to wait for the nouveau-dri update?
THANKS!

Thanks @ngoonee !
It turns out that this is because the mirror (mirrors.163.com/archlinux) I am using is broken. It is holding <libgl 7.10.2-1> without <nouveau-dri 7.10.1-2> and simultaneously. I changed to http://mirrors.kernel.org/archlinux/ and the problem solves.
You're welcome. The mirror is/was probably just affected by a partial sync (the letter l is earlier than n ).
Yeah, that's a quite reasonable explaination :-) -
All,
We are on 12.0.2 / 10.2.0.2 (non-rac) in a split-tier architecture. Web/Forms on the Linux node and Concurrent Managers/Database on the Solaris node. We are now on a project to upgrade this environment to 12.1.1 on 11.1.0.7 db. (Non RAC,Non ASM)
Here are the high level tasks that i laid down
-- Create a project instance (clone from Prod)
-- Upgrade db to 10.2.0.4 from 10.2.0.2
-- Upgrade the techstack Oracle Homes (10.1.2 and 10.1.3)
-- Upgrade the JDK to 1.6.0_X
-- Upgrade 12.0.2 to R12.1.1
-- Upgrade the database to 11.1.0.7
PS: Direct ugprade from 10.2.0.2 to 11.1.0.7 needs us to be on R12 RUP4. So, i decided to do 10g upgrade as an intermediate step. We are following 752619.1 and all the notes that it refers.
We are hitting an issue upgrading the 10.1.3 Oracle home on the Solaris node. The same upgrade completed fine on the Linux node. Here is the description of the issue.
The runInstaller for 10.1.3.4 patchset expects OPMN to be running for a successful patchset installation. On a node with just batch processing enabled, OPMN does not run by default. The installer tries to start OPMN and errors out saying

We tried to start OPMN and managed processes manually using adopmnctl.sh
OPMN starts and is able to start the HTTP server too but not any of the OC4J container components (oacore,forms and oafm). Here are the errors

Any help on the above issue? We are never going to use OPMN on this node but stuck here currently !!
Deviating a little bit, if we have to consider moving the concurrent managers out of database node to the
web/forms node (just to avoid having to maintain 2 appl_tops and getting away with doing the above tasks 2 times)
, what are the various things to consider?
-- Network latency
-- R12 being Unified APPL_TOP, can we just try to bring up ICM on Web/Forms node? (just enable the service)
-- We are aware that we might have to move the custom top and test custom programs (especially host programs).
Is there any other considerations when moving Concurrent managers from a Solaris node(64 bit) to Linux node (32 bit) ?
One last question: Why are these adoacore/adoafm scripts taking a long time?
Any feedback is highly appreciated.
Thanks,

Runtime error with Navigation lib & spark children in a viewstack
Hi,
As you probably know, in Flex 4, you have to wrap a spark component inside a NavigatorContent tag in order to use it as a viewstack child.
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<mx:ViewStack xmlns:fx="http://ns.adobe.com/mxml/2009"
xmlns:s="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/spark"
xmlns:mx="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/mx" width="100%" height="100%" xmlns:local="*" >
<s:NavigatorContent>
<local:ASparkComponent />
</s:NavigatorContent>
<s:NavigatorContent>
<local:AnotherSparkComponent />
</s:NavigatorContent>
</mx:ViewStack>
The problem is, if you want to use a waypoint for this viewstack, you'll get a runtime error. The navigation lib considers viewstacks children are Container but this is not true anymore in Flex 4. Viewstack expects its children to implements INavigatorContent.
I solved the issue by replacing Container references in SelectChildWaypoint with NavigatorContent. This means however, you won't be able to use this class anymore for Flex 3 projects. So I thought it would be better to have 2 classes derived from AbstractWaypoint: one to use for Flex 3 projets and the other one for Flex 4. A runtime version check could be done in the WaypointHandler.createWaypoint method in order to instanciate the good class. Thoughts?Wow, this is amazing feedback with a working implementation and an isolated sample!
I've just committed a fix here. The fix to trunk does get around the issue with abstracting the Container reference on children to IAutomationObject (because the navigation library relies on automationName to find children) and DisplayObject (because in some situation we try to get the default index of a child via Container.getChildIndex(child:DisplayObject)).
What do you think of this change?
BTW: the latest trunk versions support both Flex 3 and Flex 4 with conditional compilation. In case we do find other situations where the navigation library needs to behave different between Flex versions, here's an example from the Observer lib on how this can look like:
CONFIG::Flex4
protected function delay(e:Error):void
UIComponent(FlexGlobals.topLevelApplication).callLater(throwException, [e]);
CONFIG::Flex3
protected function delay(e:Error):void
UIComponent(Application.application).callLater(throwException, [e]); -
Compiling error with /usr/bin/ld: cannot find -l error
With the help of ToddLittle, I have solved a lot of problem with tuxedo as I am a freshman to it.Thank you ToddLittle!
However I meet a new problem with compiling my new program. I got this error:
/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -l/home/cjf/oracle/tuxedo12.1.1.0/include
where /home/cjf/oracle/tuxedo12.1.1.0 is my tuxedo installation path.
I build it under ubuntu 12.04 64 bit and my IDE is eclipse.
How to solve it? thanks!Usually it is best to execute the script that is installed in the Tuxedo installation directory that sets up all the necessary environment variables. That script is $TUXDIR/tux.env. Source that script before trying to use buildclient or buildserver or any other Tuxedo command to solve most problems like this.
PS You might want to check out Solaris Studio if you want to use an IDE as there is a Tuxedo plug-in for it that really helps in developing Tuxedo applications.
