Page opens in a particular section of the document on CommandButton click

Hi all,
In my application the new url to go is decided at run time. This is done in the commandButton processAction(ActionEvent event) method. Now the problem is that the new page to be opened in a particular section of the current page .. say for example the new page should be rendered in the following div section-

</div>the above functionality is achieved using anchor tag and XMLHttpObject as below

          </script>In above document.getElementById('span_result').innerHTML=receiveReq.responseText; line renders the response in the div.
how can this be achieved using jsf tags/components?
any help will be highly appretiated...

your problem is that you are trying to load on client side a part of the page while jsf was maded to work on server side with a back bean, use ajax instead, to work on client side.
Eg: You can use a rendered attibute, you can redisplay a panelgroup with a rendered attibute to a condition, can load a subview on the redisplay
