Page resizing

These may be the only Windows feature I miss when I use my beloved iMac.  In Windows you can resize a window by clicking and dragging on any edge or corner of the window.  In all Mac OS's I've used, there's a small area in the lower right corner of the window which is easy to miss, meaning that I accidentally switch to the Finder or whatever window is behind the one I'm working in.
Does anyone know of any way to jimmy this?  Even just in a browser (I use Firefox)?

You might also look at BetterSnapTool

And since you say you have an iMac, you might find Apple's MagicTrackpad a valuable as I do, especailly when paired with BetterTouchTool

  • Help with page resizing

    Hi all
I'm currently building a website using Dreamweaver 8. You can
    see it at www.idl.dundee.ac.uk/~lyndon/active.htm
as you can see i have a timeline running across the page and
layers that pop up when the mouse is moved over them to give
details(using show/hide layers behaviours). The problem is i have
the width set at 100% so when the page resizes the layers are in
    the wrong places.
If anyone can give me some pointers as to how i might get
this to work it would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks
    Lyndon

The only way to get this to work with a 100% table that can
    expand on the
page, is to place your layers inside a relatively positioned
    div that is
    inside strategic table cells, e.g.,
    <td><div style="position:relative;"><div
    id="Layer1"
    style="position:absolute; top:....
Each layer will have to be positioned as need with regard to
    that table
cell. Once you do that, you should be good to go.

  • How do you make html page resize to fit any browser

    Hi All,
How do you make the html page resize to fit any browser/window both vert and horizontally.
    Thanks!
    Randy

Horizontally by using percentage width instead of pixels.  This is called a liquid layout.
    http://alt-web.com/TEMPLATES/CSS2-Liquid-Page.shtml
Vertical resizing is irrelevant in web design.  Page content determines page height.  The more content, the longer the page.  The less content, the shorter the page.  Scrollbars appear when needed.

  • Iweb photo page resizes photos

It seems no matter what I do I cannot get an iweb photo page to NOT resize my photos. On a photo page I have gone to the inspector and selected none and original for the photo download size and iweb still resizes the photos when I publish to a folder. I am pulling the photos in from iphoto. In iphoto the photos are full size (3MB +). Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

ImageWell allows you to resize photos either by dimensions or by total size in kilobytes, and then you can upload them. It has a batch option too. Seems as though iPhoto should allow this but I haven't found it.

  • Pages resizing my doc

Pages is resizing my document when I try to print or convert to PDF.  It is CLEARLY an 8.5 x 11 document but tries to print like a tabloid.  I have already chosen US Letter as my paper size.  This is the ONLY document that is doing this.  It is 70 pages long-- or I would just do it.

Do you want to print from the same computer you created the document?
Where did you choose the paper size?

  • Pages resize in browsers when exporting to html

I love using pages wrap feature to place images in paragraphs exactly where I want them.
The problem is that when I export to html and then view the page in a browser, the entire layout resizes repositions and reformats itself as you change the size of the browser window.
Dreamweaver has a function called adding layers that will keep the layout exactly how you organized it even when resizing the browser window.
Does pages have a feature like this that will actually allow my html pages to look exactly as I intended them to without resizing/repositioning within a browser??
Please help if you know how to accomplish this. It would be a shame if I could not do this with pages. thank you

    David,
The HTML export feature in Pages is pretty basic. While there are ways that you can create perfect HTML (and CSS) to simulate a printed document, it's pretty complicated to do, even by hand.
I think the reason that Pages doesn't have a layers feature is because it's mostly meant to create printed publications. (Although it would be really really cool if Apple added something like Pages to the next iWork specifically for the web)
It's probably not what you wanted, but you could print the document to a PDF and publish that online instead.

  • Flash button over animation does not line up when page resized

I have a flash page that changes size based on the browser size.  The buttons in this page are text with a small animation in the over portion of the timeline.  The animation also includes the text in a different color so the effect is that the text changes color and the animation plays when the mouse is over the button.
At some browser sizes, the Up and Over sections do not line up exactly giving the appearance that the text moves when the mouse is over it.  It only happens when the browser is at certain sizes.
Is there a way to get these to line up properly regardless of the way the page is resized?

    Hi,
I am using a Nvidia 4200M adapter in my Laptop, Driver 266.96, Direct X 11
In my desktop I am using an ATI XFX 6950, latest revision drivers (I am not at home right now so I cant get that info).
The issue I did describe above, but it was a long explanation.
In some flash games the game files load initially and get as far as the "click to start" button. Then the flash area usually goes either all white or all black (usually depending on the falsh game default background color) and then it stays that color. Cant see anything after hitting start (usually most games have an intro video or animation before the game starts, but I cant see any of it.
For the very few games that do start, the flash game or application does not seem to work correctly in that when the rare game starts, it wont save any game files or save files to the pc and so if I exit the game (navigate away to another page or close browser) and then later come back, even though I click the option to save games (and ensure that the flash application slider shows it can save files and lots of space) it does not save and I have to start from the beginning all the time.
    More explanation I gave above.

  • I want to make the page resize to fill browser

    Hi There
I want to make the page of my muse site resize to fill browser
    http://fresh0401.businesscatalyst.com/index.html
So if its big screen the site is big but if the screen is smaller the site is smaller

    Hi thomasatherton123
The site : http://www.tropicana.co.uk/ is based on responsive layout, Adobe Muse currently does not support Responsive layout.
It has already been logged as a feature request : http://forums.adobe.com/message/5876129#5876129
I would suggest you to add your vote and valuable comments to the post.

  • After page resize, the TOC is all messed up

I have run into another formatting problem with my text, which is to be published as a 6x9" book. My original Pages document is A4 size, which is what we use here in Europe. Alas, that is not only not the same size, but not the same page proportions as a US document - or a 6x9" book. So while Create Space has an online app to shrink the A4 pdf version of the text so it will fit the page size, that does leave the text a bit small. Original was 12p Palatino. I would rather it stay 12p but to do that, I think I need to go back to Pages and change the size, margins (gutter, etc) of the original, then make a pdf version to send to Create Space.
I am sort of winging it as my knowledge of Pages is almost nonexistent and unfortunately that's how I created the original. One problem I have found after resizing is that now the TOC is weird - the page numbers are squashed against the name instead of being on the end of the line. Screenshot of an example is here:
    <https://www.dropbox.com/s/vsolnazogx9k418/PagesScreenSnap.png>
I don't remember how I created the original TOC and don't know how to fix that. I know that what used to fit on one page will now overflow to two but that isn't a problem, and I can remove the occasional empty page. Don't know if there will be other problems. I changed the paper size in the Inspector/Document. Not sure if that is the correct place as there seems to be somewhere else to enter gutter etc. measurements.
I ams till undecided whether to mess with this or leave it as is and go with the smaller text, but I'd like to try, to see how it looks.
    Thanks for any suggestions

    Contini,
Maybe a reading of p. 64 of the Pages User Guide will refresh your memory of how you did the TOC. As far as I know, your course would be to delete the incorrect TOC and insert a new one.

  • Page Resizing with Spry Panesl

Developing a new site with CS3 but am not getting consistent
behaviour with standard DIV or SPRY areas.
On some pages the main text area containing the DIVs and
Sprys will resize when a spry accordian panel opens to be higher
than the original page height, on some pages it overlaps the page
base and runs off the bottom.
Is there any way of getting consistent behavious, seeing as I
don't know why the ones that work, do...
    For examples of problem see

    and surrounding pages.
All pages controlled from one css and master template.

Spry widgets are pretty rudimentary. I imagine you are
    talking about this
    page:
    http://79.170.40.182/johnholloway.co.uk/performance.html
It flashes all of the Accordion content as visible first,
    then when the
script constructor is encountered, it all snaps shut. That is
    pretty typical
of Spry. You can get around that with some custom
    programming, which the
Adobe Spry folks might be able to help you with - but you
    should post on the
Spry forum instead of this one.
Our widgets do not have this behavior, have lots more
    features and
    automation, but are not free.

  • Oracle ADF 11g : Invoke managed bean method on page resize.

    Given the following code:
    <af:clientListener method="getElementWidth"
                                       type="propertyChange"/>
                    <af:serverListener type="customEvent"
method="#{columnSizeBean.handleRequest}"/>Is there a client listener that can be triggered on browser window resize ?
    Something like:
    <af:clientListener method="getElementWidth"
                                       type="[[[[something like a window resize]]]]]]"/>
                    <af:serverListener type="customEvent"
                                       method="#{columnSizeBean.handleRequest}"/>NOTE:
getElementWidth is a javascript method in my current code, while columnSizeBean is a sessionScope bean that is doing some computations on a table column width.
Edited by: Andrei C. on May 18, 2010 5:49 AM

    Hi,
no there is not. However, in this case you can use vanilla JavaScript and register to the browser DOM to receive the event notification. If you rceive the notification you access the server Listener you put on the af:document component. This should work

  • Liquid header - once page resized middle content goes in the gap

Hi currently I have a liquid header, the logo is floating to the left and the navbar is floating to the right, and in the middle of the page (below the header) I have photo thumbnails which move to fit the page width. Once the page is expanded the thumbnails jump up into the gap that opens up between the logo and navbar... is there a way to make the header closed of from the thumbnails below?

Dreamweaver is not a browser.  You can't rely on it for previewing.
That said, this is how I approach galleries in a semi-liquid layout:

  • Automatic page resizing for a DPS articles

    Hello all
Am working on an iPad app, horizontal dimension, and the pages have a number of different vertical sizes.
Is there a way for the vertical size to be set to auto fit for the contents??
I have master page items at the top of the page, and they disappear when I amend the depth of the page.
I could use the liquid layout feature?? Is this the best way to achieve this??
    Thanks

    Some thoughts:
Instead of using hard-pixel-measures, use percentages for widths so your page elements will readjust for viewport size differences. (don't say you can't do it "because"...if you want to maintain a modicum of similarity to your original design, you just can't use hard pixel measures because they won't shrink when you need them to. That's the coward's way out.)
Use floats on the left if you absolutely must have hard measures. Everything else will flow up to the right. Insert the divs with float: left; (they'll need to have declared widths...not necessarily pixel widths; could be percentages...) just before the material you want on the right.
If you want to look really savvy, you won't design for 1000 pixels, you'll design for 850 or 900 pixels that will expand gracefully (and, ideally, shrink gracefully...). You don't want to be stuck showing your page on someone else's monitor/system setup (that you have no control over) and have it hang off the side of the viewport and not look terrific. VOE here...voice of experience.
Look up basic tutorials on using float...you should find some right on the Adobe.com site. You'll be amazed at how good they'll make you look right off the bat.
In fact, if you have not designed pages in 10 years or so, you should treat yourself to a whole lot of modern Dreamweaver tutorials. Cruise the Adobe.com site and look at Adobe TV. If you can't afford to upgrade your Dreamweaver right now (if you are using CS2...is that even Dreamweaver?) do the thirty-day demo and then find a way to upgrade/buy it. You'll amaze yourself at how it's changed in a couple of versions's time.
Bone up on CSS. Even if you used it 10 years ago (was it even around that long ago?) it is even better now, especially used in concert with Dreamweaver CS4.
    Have fun!
