Page Set-Up has odd defaults

For last few months, my page set up has been defaulting to Tabloid size at 77% for apps like Safari, Preview, Quark and CS suite. Programs such as word and tect edit have the normal letter size, 100% default.
Any idea what is causing the weird settings? it lets me change it, and then it is no problem.. at least until I restart.
It's just annoying, because I forget on occasion and I just print a page only to find it wasting tabloid paper.
I've installed all recent system updates, and apped my pram. Any ideas would be helpful...

Try this: move to the Desktop:
~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.print.PrintingPrefs.plist
Then go to System Preferences/Print & Fax and in the "Default Paper Size in Page Setup" field select your prefered paper size.

I have 10.6.8 and have installed two new printers HP 8610 and an Epson 7880 and can not find the Page Set-up menu anywhere in the applications I a trying to print from. This is regardless of either printer selected.
I primarily print photos from Photoshop CS5. The term Page Set-up has gone missing in the file pull down menu. Can't make any choices There are no page sizes, paper types, appearsto be locked on a 13x19 size paper format. Either being too large or too small.
Saw a 2008 locked issue about this however none of the help fit my situation, options discussed are not available to me.
Preview has no "Page Setup" - or does it?
Does the constant struggle with computer compatability weirdness issues ever end or is it a enslavement scheme?

Hey,
if you know the name(s) of the root folder(s) you want to access (eg. by making a note on the Windows side) then you can make them appear by just doing Shift-Command-G in Finder ("Go to Folder…"), and entering the full path to the required folders. You can then navigate all the contents as normal.

For viewing PDFs without embedded IV options you can set values under Preferences > Page Display, but if a file has the zoom or scroll mode defined in its properties, those will always win over the application defaults.

Hi, I am a newbie to OA Framework extensions. Could you please advise me how to get rid of below error ?
"The window title attribute for the page layout region has not been set. This attribute value will be used for the browser window title and should be set according to the UI standards. A default window title will be displayed for all such pages that violate the standards. Action: Set the window title or title attribute for the page layout region. The title attribute is used as a secondary source for the window title if the window title is missing."
My requirement is to extend a VO and almost done with that but when i run the PG ( HomePG.xml ) file to ensure everything is fine , The target page is being displayed with above error. Just to let you know that i have already set the Titile and Window Title attributes for the HomePG.xml region i.e PageLayoutRN.
One more thing i would like to share is that i was set the Window Title to 'Oracle Applications Home Page' , but target page name is being displayed as 'Oracle Applications'.
Any suggestions ??

Custom Master page set as a default on feature activation in Moss

I've a site in moss. I have created feature in my solution and on feature activation it will set the custom master page
CustomMaster.master as a default master page and on feature deactivation it will set as a default master page
default.master.
The problem I'm facing is that if I'm activation the feature at first time then it will set the CustomMaster.master as a default master page but when I'm deactivate the feature it will remove the
CustomMaster.master page and module. but when I'm again activate feature at that time it will not create mo1dule and CustomMaster.master in "_catalogs/masterpage/". So, no error was given on feature activation but
it will give error while I'm accessing my site as a "File Not Found" because
CustomMaster.master is not created.

When you are calling "RemoveCustomMasterPage" function?
Also make below change in web.config file your web application to know the problem:
1. Open up your sites web.config, and make the standard custom errors edit. You want it to be < customerrors mode="Off"/>
2. Then, search for the CallStack="false" and change it to CallStack="true", you should find this in the "<safemode>" node.
3. Find: <compilation debug="false" />, Replace with: <compilation debug="true" />

Setting target blank as default for my page

I know how to set each link on my page to target_blank and I know how I can code my page to make this the default but is there a way to do this without actually writing the code in myself?
I'm very new to Dreamweaver and still feeling my way around. I tried looking under page properties but didn't see anything there. I don't know where else to look.

Not only is the target="_blank" attribute deprecated, it's a usability faux pas. If site visitors want to open links in new tabs/windows they can use right click. If ALL your links automatically launch a new tab/window you're crowding their browser and making a decision that isn't yours to make. The golden rule in web design is "don't mess with people's browsers."

Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache.
Note: ''This will temporarily log you out of all sites you're logged in to.''
To clear cache and cookies do the following:
#Go to Firefox > History > Clear recent history or (if no Firefox button is shown) go to Tools > Clear recent history.
#Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
#Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
#From the details list, check ''Cache'' and ''Cookies'' and uncheck everything else.
#Now click the ''Clear now'' button.

Anthony, thank you very much - this works, though I thought I had tried your process previously without success. I've tried so many things who knows. I've had zero luck going with the Send to Compressor or Export Using Compressor Settings under the Share menu. I'm also finding Compressor 4 to be a real dog on my system even though I have a brand new quad core machine with 8G of RAM. Prior to receiving your post I did come up with a different work process. Using Export Movie from FCP X and then loading the result in Compressor 3 works flawlessly. Thanks again!

How to set Pages and Numbers to become default applications for attachment?

I installed Leopard and have just installed iWork.
I started noticing that the applications of .doc and .xls that come in file attachments in my mail do not use Pages and Numbers as their default application.
.doc uses TextEdit
I copied the file to the desktop, changed the default app to Pages, but it still doesn't work. All new mails with .doc still uses TextEdit as default app.
How to change this?

Certain websites require IE, and accidentally setting Firefox as my default browser has completely messed up my desktop shortcuts.

When I changed my default back to IE, the icons changed back, but everything still opens in Firefox... How can I get the shortcuts to open in IE? I've tried deleting the original shortcuts and creating new ones, but they still open in Firefox...

I'm not 100% sure I understand your problem. From what you've said, I think you're saying you've changed your default browser to Firefox, and the desktop icons all changed from the internet explorer icon (the blue e) to the firefox icon. You've changed the default browser back to IE, but the icons haven't changed back, and when you click on them they open in Firefox.
If that's the case, the problem is with your default browser setup. From what you've said, you've already set it in the browser similiar to [[How to make web links open in Firefox by default|the support article]]; for some reason Windows hasn't changed the default browser.
You could try (in Win 7) opening the control panel, then Programs ->Set Default Programs, and click on Internet Explorer in there, then "Set this Program as Default".

Spry Tabbed Panels and Master/ Detail Page Set interraction

Hi,
I have created a feedback form and am using a Spry Tabbed Panel to allow users to review all responses to one question and then all responses to the next question in different tabs, there are 6 tabs in all. In each tab I have created a Master/ Detail Page set - well actually just the Master appears in the tab. This is working fine. I allow up to 20 responses to be shown on each tab, after which the user selects First/Previous/Next/Last. When they do this the screen refreshes and the tabbed panel display goes back to the default tab, clicking on the tab previously used correctly displays whichever of First/Previous/Next/Last the user selected. I'd like the display to remain on the user's current tab when they select First/Previous/Next/Last.

The 4G LTE SIM card in your device contains information about your plan, device and more. You can set a SIM PIN so others won’t be able to access that information if your SIM card is removed from your device.
If you remove your SIM card and insert it another device (e.g., when you upgrade to a new device), you’ll be asked for the SIM card PIN. You can find your SIM card PIN in My Verizon if you’ve forgotten it. Or, if you’ve entered your SIM card PIN unsuccessfully 3 times, you’ll need the PIN Unblocking Key (PUK) to unlock your SIM card again. After using the PUK, you’ll need to create a new PIN for your SIM card if you want to secure it again.
To locate the SIM PIN / PUK numbers for your 4G LTE SIM card:
Navigate to the Overview page in My Verizon.
Click My PIN and Unblocking Key (PUK) under About My Device.
Your default PIN and PUK will be displayed in a pop-up window.
Click Close when you’re finished to return to the My Verizon Overview page.

I get "application not found" when clicking on a http link in a mail, even after having set firefox as the default program for http links.

After installing firefox 15.0, I can not open links form email or other office 2010 applications. I get "application not found" error. I tried setting firefox as the default program both manually (in the Windows default program panel) and automatically (having Firefox to do it automatically on startup (tools->options->advanced->General). I still have the error.

That sounds odd. Is this error coming from a particular e-mail program you're using? It could be that that program has its own settings for which web browser to launch, ignoring the "default browser" setting in Windows.
Does the same thing happen if you click on a web link from any other external (non-browser) application on your computer? If it happens with other apps too, I would suggest to re-download and install Firefox (www.mozilla.org) and see if that takes care of it.

Zero bleed at inside page on even and odd master pages

Hello guys! Going directly to my question would be how to apply bleed option specifically on inside pages when working with individual master pages for master and facing pages on the main document. The thing is when I've set no bleed on inside on my Document Setup it has applied on my even and odd master pages (remembering I have individual master pages set on my document). I am not sure if I was clear enough but I keep it open for eventual comments and so on. Thank you.

Ok. If you use transaction fbl1n, for example, then when you get the screen with the open and closed items of the selected vendor go to option Print (CTRL+P), or List -> Print. On the next screen choose your Output Device (for example, LOCL or PDF), then go to the tab Properties at the bottom of the screen. On the next screen under General attributes find Format and double click to it, then go to the field Format, press F4 or go to the possible selection, choose the desired Format, for example X_65_255, then go to the tab Settings at the bottom of the screen. On the next screen under Default for field select again your format (I think it will already be there) and then select tab Copy settings. At the end press Enter.
