Setting a CellEditor on a single table cell

I am trying to get a combo box of choices to display for single cell of a JTable. I currently implemented a 2 column table that contains a key in the first column and a value in the second column. What I want to do is set the second column for a particular "key" to use a combo box to display a list of choices. Is this possible??

You can set the editor for a specific column, but if you want to set it for one specific cell, you probably have to subclass JTable and override getCellEditor(int, int).

Color of single table cell

I have created a Web Dynpro table. Now I want to set the color of a single cell depending on its value and the row number.
Is it possible? Are there any examples or tutorials for CE 7.11?

Multiple rows in a single table cell - Adobe forms

Dear All
I am developing an adobe form which conatins a table alongwith other screen/ form elements.
This table is bound to a data node and contains only two columns. Number of rows will be determined at run time.
Each cell of the table will contain three rows seperated by a space in between them. Please refer to the diagram below for more understanding.

I have no idea how to achieve this. Can anyone help?

Hi,
Here are the steps how you can do it.
1. Create a table.
2. In the Library palette, click the Standard category and drag the Table object into a cell in the main table.
Note: If you selected Donu2019t Show This Again in the Insert Table dialog box, when you select the Table object from the Library palette, LiveCycle Designer automatically inserts a table with the same number of columns and rows that you inserted the last time you used the Insert Table dialog box.
3. In the Insert Table dialog box, enter the number of columns and rows. You can enter a maximum of 20 columns and 50 rows. You can add more columns and rows after the table is created by using the Insert commands on the Table menu.
4. To add a header row, select Include Header Row In Table.
5. To add a footer row, select the Include Footer Row In Table.
6. Click OK.

Adding a single table cell

In other spreadsheet programs I have been able to add a single cell to a column without having to copy and pste the entire column. Is there a way to do this in Numbers?

Gavin is right. You are bound to lose images in tables of docs made in previous versions. If you wish to continue using Pages 5.0 to edit docs from previous versions, you can try re-inserting your images using the following method:
1. Click on the cell you want to insert to.
2. Select CELL on the right contextual menu.
4. Click on FILL and select IMAGE FILL.
5. Click CHOOSE then select the image you need from Finder.
6. Tweak the appearance using the SCALE slider or drop down menu.

Table cell is longer than 176 cm in smartforms

Hi all,
While printing the smart form output it is giving
error : single table cell is longer than 176 cm
I found the problem , one of the table field is getting more records
Those records are not fitting in the screen , what I will do?

Inside main table i find one loop condition which is printing more data..

the problem is the length is so huge it will probably not fit on a single page...
anyway the smarter way to solve it would be to split the contents of your field into another internal table and put the records of this internal table in different rows of your table
I guess your field is of string type, then you can use function module SO_STRING_TO_TAB to get your contents into SOLI format then it will be easier to output it

Inserting multiple checkboxes into a table cell

Hi all, new to Livecycle so I could use a little advice.
I'm trying to insert multiple checkboxes into a single table cell, but as far as I can tell that seems impossible as one checkbox fills the entire cell. Now how do I go about splitting the table cell into 2 rows so that I can insert both of the checkboxes?
I've also got to add a button to create new rows for the table on click so I don't know if that will factor into the answer.

This is a feature removed in the change from Pages 09 to Pages 5.0.1.
If you need this facility, revert to Pages 09. If you upgraded to 5.0.1, then the earlier version is still in your Applications folder in a folder called iWork.

Can I split a spreadsheet table over more than one page?

Is is possible to split a table so that data can be linked from page to page?
I would like to have a table with formulas on page 2 referencing data from another linked table on page 1 of a Pages document.
I know this used to be possible in Appleworks. In fact I have some old Appleworks docs like this, but when I try to open them in Pages they get scrambled. Any ideas anybody?

Neither of the 2 options suggested quite fit the bill as my document is a text document report with embedded tables, which do need to refer to each other across more than one page, but still needs to be well laid out for printing and easy reading by others. It seems strange that something which was easy to achieve in Appleworks should be impossible in iWorks, since I thought this was meant to be the replacement program after Apple stopped developing Appleworks.

Can a table cell be split across pages?

If I have a table, several rows, and one of the cells is longer than a page, can it be split between pages? I have not yet found a way to do it. Surely, it can be done.

You have CS5? Make your page size twice the height for that page, then cut page in Acrobat later.
You would also have to add a manual page number to the 'second' page and restart page numbering...
Not pretty, but it may suit your needs...

Table cell spanning pages

Hi all,
I'm having a rather major problem with Pages. I've managed to convince my sister-in-law to buy an iBook and star using Pages for her school work, however we've encountered a particularily difficult problem:
Pages (and AppleWorks) does not allow her to use table cells that span more than one page! Not only is this a problem because she has whole load of old MSWord documents that she needs to read, but she definitely needs to continue working like this. First because it's the only sensible thing to do, second because her teachers require her to.
Here's the problem: She creates a table, 2x8 cells (for example). In the rightmost column she generally writes quite a lot of text, often so much that it does not fit inside a cell that is limited vertically to the size of the page. In MSWord, this cell automatically wraps to the next page, however in Pages, the cell simply stops growing and the text appears to continue "behind" the next page.
We've tried to devise other layouts for her work, but tables seem to be the only feasible alternative. Using columns would not help her at all, text boxes would be too cumbersome, manually splitting the cells would make the document extremely difficult to edit (all her documents are, for a very long time, a work in progress, so editing happens all the time).
Can anyone help us out here? I'm || this close to going out to buy her a copy of MS Office, as no other word processor I've tried (Pages, AppleWorks, NeoOffice/J, OpenOffice) manages to deal with this properly. This would be a major admission of defeat.

I have a Pages document with a single table that spans 11 pages. Unfortunately, it took a bit of fiddling with it & I can't remember how I did it. This is a table I had converted from AppleWorks, which also doesn't easily allow tables to span page breaks. I think I got it to do it by inserting new rows in the middle of the existing table. Then I would select & drag the contents from an unconnected table on another page into these new rows.

When you say
FROM    emp e
,       emp e1you are using two copies of the same table.
Can you imagine using two copies of the same book at the same time?
Say you see a word (like "hyrax") that you don't know. You might look up that word in the dictionary.
The English sentence "Open the dictionary to the page containing the new word." is like this SQL query:
FROM    dictionary
WHERE   :unknown_word BETWEEN low_guide_word and high_guide_wordWhat if you saw that word while reading a book (let's call it book_a).
You might want to leave book_a open, and place the dictionary beside book_a, so you can easily compare how the word is used in book_a with the definition in the dictionary.
This corresponds to joining two tables in SQL:
FROM    book_a
JOIN    dictionary ON unknown_word BETWEEN low_guide_word AND high_guide_word
WHERE   book_a.page = whatever -- NOTE: both tables have a column called pageor you can use aliases for one or both of the tables
FROM    book_a      a
JOIN    dictionary d ON a.unknown_word BETWEEN d.low_guide_word AND d.high_guide_word

You can do a side-by-side comparison, as above, if you have two copies of the dictionary. Leave one copy open to "ibex", and open the other copy to "hyrax".

In this case, you must you a table alias, at least for one copy. It wouldn't make any sense to say "Leave the dictionary open to "ibex" and open the dictionary to "hyrax". You have to have some unique way of referring to each copy, such as "Leave the dictionary on my left open to "ibex" and open the dictionary on my right to "hyrax"."

Can a Table Cell span more than one page?

I'm working with tables in Pages to create a list of literature and important takeaways from each article. Sometimes the important information is more than I can fit on one page. However, Pages doesn't seem to be able to handle splitting cells across multiple pages. Instead, it seems to "push" the overflow text beyond the page, so I can't even see it as I'm typing.
In Word, such situations just cause the table cell to continue on to the next page. But I can't figure out how to do that in Pages. (And I'm a little concerned that there's not a way to handle this.)

The cell in question does split across 2 pages. "Do I need to" do that isn't really the point.
My question was whether Pages can handle splitting a table cell across 2 pages.
Pages can't; Word can.
(I'm trying to switch over for all of my future work into Pages, so there's a learning curve for me. The type of work I'm doing does have cells that split over 2 pages. In Word, it's not a big deal. Unfortunately, in Pages, I need to split the row in order to do the same thing. Which is kind of a pain, since I'm building the table dynamically and may insert rows above, below or between existing rows. In Word, it automatically handles moving the cells across multiple pages - or merging them back if I edit the text or insert/remove rows above.)

Exporting a single table from an acrobat created form

I created a 5 page document InDesign (CS5.5), On one page I created a table that is 4 columns x 25 rows (with the first row being a header), using the table feature. I then exported to pdf and finalized the form in Acrobat 9.2 Pro. After running the Form Field Recognition the table was populated with the appropriate fields. I finalized the form and distributed. When the form is returned to me, I am trying to export JUST the information in this table to a spreadsheet (employee name, title, phone, email, ) and do not seem to be able to do so. Is this possible from a form? It doesn't seem like the pdf recognizes this table as a table any longer. It is a list of attendees, so I want to take this list from each returned form and combine them all into a master list.
With the selection tool I have tried to select all the text > right click > Open Table in Spreadsheet and only the header rows appear. If I choose just the text and not the headers, then nothing appears. If I export the entire document then each cell of the table is its own column in excel, which makes sense since they all have different field names, but this doesn't make the spreadsheet useful. The only thing I have been able to do is select all the cells, copy into notepad, place a tab between each piece of information > save and open that document in excel. I am hoping there is an easier way. Basically all I am trying to do is have that table appear in excel as it does the pdf. I have searched several websites and have not been able to find anything that specifically deals with exporting a single table from a completed form.
Perhaps I need to set the table field names differently? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

The "table" idea here is just a design idea, the identity as a table no longer exists in a PDF. The feature you're trying to use is for tables which are part of the regular PDF, not form fields.
You can export form data. All fields, but then process to exclude the ones you don't want.
