Pages cutting off

I'm having this problem where some of the pages on the site I'm building cut off prematurely. When I look at the pages in iWeb I can see the problem: The main text box isn't big enough to accomodate the type on the page.
The problem is, I can't get the main text box to illuminate, so I can't enlarge it. Sometimes after futzing around with it for several minutes the little squares appear at the corners and along the sides, and I can fix the problem. But I've never figured out what it was that made it work.
Suggestions?

I'm not sure why, but it seems to be related to the use of the <fieldset> tag around the content. Firefox apparently doesn't paginate that tag as expected.
To see how it would appear in print preview substituting a styled <div> tag, you could run the following snippet of script:
(1) Copy the following to the clipboard (it's all one line):
<br>var fs = document.querySelector("fieldset"); var dnew = document.createElement("div"); dnew.setAttribute("class", fs.getAttribute("class")); fs.parentNode.insertBefore(dnew, fs); while(fs.childNodes.length > 0) dnew.appendChild(fs.childNodes[0]); dnew.setAttribute("style", "margin:0 2px; padding:0.35em 0.625em 0.75em; border:2px groove #eee;");
(2) On your test page, open Firefox's web console (Ctrl+Shift+k or Web Developer > Web Console)
(3) Paste the code next to the caret (>) and press Enter to run it
(4) Try print preview

  • Why is part of the page cut off in Adobe Muse 2014?

    I installed Adobe Muse 2014 and experiencing a few issues. The Master pages are cut off at the bottom of Plan page. When I go into design, some of the toolbar is cut off & I can't access icons. When I go to page properties, the box opens up at the top left of the screen with only the bottom right of the page properties tool box showing. I don't have any scroll bars available (assuming they're cut off just as the toolbar) When I click to expand options, empty boxes flash and nothing shows up. I did not have these issues until I uploaded widgets from the library.

    It may have been rasterized (during flattening) if it interacted with any object containing transparency.
    Placing the text on a unique (InDesign) layer would alleviate such interactive flattening.

  • Product Page Cut Off

    hi
    I just had a customer send me a screenshot of our site on her CPU and the product page is slightly cut off.
    She is using a new iMac viewing on Chrome and Firefox.
    Attached is the screenshot and the url is www.chaserbrand.com
    I work on a mac, as do most of my colleagues, and 70% of our customers are mac users and this is the first I've seen or heard of this.
    If anyone knows of a fix on our or her end, much appreciated.

  • Web page cutting off

    When using Safari on the iPad, some web pages seem to be cut off at the bottom of the screen. I can't scroll down to see the rest of the page. I have tried clearing cache, history etc and restarting but this doesn't help. Does anyone have any ideas pls?

    What pages do you mean? Can you give an example? It could be a page that require a two finger scroll if there is text that you cannot get to on the page, but that's just a guess.

  • NY Times application bottoms of pages cut off

    I downloaded the NY Times application on my new iPad...it looks good, but the bottoms of the columns of long columns are cut off. I tried scrolling the page up by pulling it with my finger to show the type, but the visible type didn't move.
    Any ideas? Thanks

    It might, I will have to try that out. I use portrait 100% of the time for newspapers. With portrait the menu disappears on its own after you open a story, except when the story freezes on first page -- then the menu never descends. (Fyi, when one story freezes, all of them lock and the only to fix is to power down ipad.)
    My contact at NY Times just emailed me a few minutes ago and said he was told last week's update should have solved the freeze-up problems. I told him I downloaded that update as soon as it was released, and ever since then I've experienced freezes on every single use (and the freezes are different from the ones I experienced previously). For me the app has been rendered unusable. I'm beginning to wonder if I have a localized problem if this guy at the Times isn't hearing about it from everyone.

  • This is a problem. The new layout for apple mail in iCloud shows the body of a mail or any attachments on the right half of the screen. But it won't print just the attachment, it prints the whole email page, cutting off the bottom of the attachment.

    Even if I try to 'screen shot' just the attachment, the view won't move down as I enlarge the 'screen shot' to get all of the attachment. Previously, I could "SAVE" the attachment and only the attachment would be saved. Now the whole email page including the address info from the top is saved, so when I try to print what should be an 8.5x11 attachment the bottom of it won't print because the top 2" include the email address info.
    Suggestions?

    That's one of the weird things.. it recognizes it maybe 10% of the time. And usually, only after I do the two-button reset. Problem is.. since it won't charge above 2%, anytime I try to do a restore or anything like that using iTunes, my device shuts off and I lose whatever progress I'd made.
    So, an update... after reading through a bunch of similar complaints (there are literally 1000's of them so there's NO WAY this isn't somehow ios7 related, thanks a lot APPLE ) I decided to try a restore in recovery mode. After 3 hours and several disconnections... I ended up having to just set it up as a new iPad, as the restore did nothing. Weirdly though... as I was doing the restore in recovery mode.. I noticed I'd gotten up to a 10% charge.. higher than it's been since September, so after setting it up as a new device, I turned it off and plugged it in using the wall charger. 2 hours later and I was up to 38%. Still not great, as my iPad, before ios7 could've fully charged twice in the amount of time it took for me to now get 28% more of a charge. And that's with a fully cleaned out device.. so that really ***** and I'm now more confused than ever.
    But I'm gonna leave it overnight charging and see what I come up with tomorrow. Sadly, when I paid $600 for it in February, I never expected to have to play "wait and see" with it...

  • How do you adjust Firefox to print what is on email page without adding a 1 inch left marghin to that page as it cuts off some of the right side of the page?

    When I receive an email the page often has a certificate that I would like to print. Using the print function at the top of the page brings up the email as a page as it looks in my web email. When I hit the print button on that page there is always a 1 inch margin added to the printed page cutting off the right side of the desired page to be printed.
    My printer accepts what ever I send it from word, pdf files as they appear on the screen, Why doe Firefox not send the same images as is displayed to the printer?
    This seems to occur whenever the screen shows an image that is almost border to border and not text. When a margin is part of the email message or it is text this doesn't seem to occur.
    HELP Please. I really need to be able to print what is displayed to print the proper document.
    Thanks

    Some pages add their own margin to the minimum margin set in Page Setup. First you might reduce the margin here:
    Alt+f (displays the classic File menu) > Page Setup > Margins & Header/Footer tab
    Second, you could try using Shrink to Fit. However, if the image is a background image rather than part of the content of the page, that might not have any effect.

  • Printing pdf files made from Filemaker docs on HP 7410 cuts off top margin

    Just bought a MacBook Pro and jumped from Tiger to Snow Leopard.
    Also bought FileMaker 10 replacing the FileMaker 8.5 I used up till the MacBook Pro purchase and system upgrade.
    Still using the same HP 7410, but during installation, I think I remember upgrading the printer driver. At any rate, this HP Printer is now much more responsive. It was previously very slow.
    When I now save documents printed as pdf's from filemaker (as I used to) and then try to print them on the HP 7410, they open fine in Preview showing the whole page with no text cut off. But when I press Print in preview and I get the HP driver preview of what will print as part of the print dialogue box, it shows the top margin of the page cut off (down to at least 1/2 ") and actually prints that way. Before the switch to Snow Leopard and the MacBook Pro, a top margin of 1/4 " worked fine and printed in pdf docs.
    (top margins of 1/4" on Word & Excel documents I tested still seem to print fine)
    I use the borderless printing work-around, but that seems inelegant. It also takes much, much............much longer to print when it's in that mode (even fast draft).
    Why is this happening?
    Is there a setting I am missing?
    Can this be fixed?
    Steve

    What print driver are you using?
    I set my printer to use the open source Gutenprint driver in place of the one supplied with my printer to resolve an issue I was having - see my post http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1626340&tstart=0
    The Gutenprint home page is http://gutenprint.sourceforge.net/index.php3

  • Webpage cuts off, no scroll bar.

    Hey,
    I'm a beginner so please take it easy on me.
    I'm trying to create a website for my wife.  Everything is completed and it looks great.  The only problem I'm having is that when my wife goes to view the websit on her computer (much smaller size).  The page cuts off and there's no scroll bar feature which I thought was like a fixture on websites.  I've been looking for hours on how to add a scroll bar to my entire website .. like the standard browser scroll bar but I can't seem to find it anywhere.
    Can someone here please help, I'd be much obliged.  I have two files, one is the index.fla file which i used to create my page in using Flash CS5 and the other is the index.html file which I can edit in Dreamweaver.
    Thank you kindly.
    Sincerely,
    Ali
    feel free to contact me directly at [email protected]

    Hi
    I just wondered if this was resolved. I am having exactly the same problem with the same template. I have tried every combination of settings in the publish settings but cannot get the scroll bars.
    The only way I have got to get it to work in any fashion has been to publish the page then rename the flash page created (index.swf) to flashmo_188_chrome_black and copy it to a fresh directory conatining an unedited version of the template. This does not really resolve the problem. It seems that the html file I create after editing the template is different to the file that comes with the template.
    Any help or thoughts greatly appreciated

  • JInternalFrame - print cut off

    Hi there,
    I have tried to print out the JInternalFrame's content by overriding the print() mentod.
    However, it seems only those that shown on screen was printed out, i.e., if I resize the frame to a smaller size, I print out fewer things.
    On top of that, even if I maximize the frame, only half the page is print out (i.e., I got half a blank page which I need to fill).
    Here is my code for printing the frame
    public class JPInternalFrame extends JInternalFrame implements Printable {
       public JPInternalFrame() { }
       public int print(Graphics g, PageFormat pf, int pi) throws PrinterException {
       if (pi >= 1) {
           return Printable.PAGE_EXISTS;
       Graphics2D newG = (Graphics2D) g;
       newG.setClip(0,0,650,850); // reset to a new clip cooedinate
       newG.scale(0.6,0.6);
       Font  f = new Font("Arial",Font.PLAIN,10);
       newG.setFont(f);
       RepaintManager currentManager = RepaintManager.currentManager(this);
       currentManager.setDoubleBufferingEnabled(false);
       super.paintAll(newG);
       currentManager.setDoubleBufferingEnabled(true);
       return Printable.PAGE_EXISTS;
    .and
    public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent e) {
          PrinterJob printJob = PrinterJob.getPrinterJob();\
          printJob.setPrintable(one);
          if (printJob.printDialog())
          try { printJob.print(); } catch (Exception PrintException) { }
    }Thanks for your time.

    Hi there,
    I just found out that my JInternal Frame can now print a full page. But this only happens when I open multiple JInternalFrame.
    - If I only open 1 frame, it only print half a page (cut off at the middle);
    - If I open multiple, print any one of them would be a full page;
    - If I open multiple 1st, close them down to 1 frame, it would still print a full page;
    - If I close them all, open 1 frame and print, it would back to half-page-cut-off...
    Would anyone able to give me some direction please?
    Much appericate for any help!
    Cheers

  • C3180 bottom being cut off

    I've looked at other threads and tried everything they said but still getting bottom of the page cut off!

    When printing tax return the last 1/2 is not printed is cut off.  This is on a pdf form.

  • I can't print multiple pages from a website using the site's print button or 'file - print' and if I try to save as a PDF, it still only saves the first page and then cuts off.

    I'm using Mac OS X 10.5.8 and Firefox version 3.6.8. When I'm on a website and try to print the info on the site, whether I use the site's own 'print' option, or I go to the Firefox toolbar and try to use 'File->Print', only 1 page prints out - it just cuts off mid-page. If I try to save as a PDF instead, the same thing happens in exactly the same spot - it saves as a 1-page PDF and cuts off in the middle of the page. I've already tried all of the suggestions here https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Printing+a+web+page?s=printing&as=s and the suggestions here http://kb.mozillazine.org/Problems_printing_web_pages and nothing has worked.
    I appreciate any help!!

    I have the same problem... not being able to print website 'Print' pages. I have read carefully the above link and have followed the reset directions in about:config, but I still cannot print in Firefox. Both Google Chrome and IE work perfectly every time. I have verified that the correct printer is selected and that the margins are in order (0.5 all around happen to be what mine are set for). I have resorted to use the Firefox Add On "View this Page in IE" whenever I need to print something. Works like a charm, but come on... it should work in Firefox too! I know there is some setting or something, but the Problems_printing_web_pages link had nothing there that worked for me.

    All pages after the first page are full size with information cut off

    Can print from Safari and other software just fine

    One suggestion worked from the Firefox prints incorrectly link mentioned above by mha007. I'm thrilled since this has been annoying me for weeks. Thanks mha007!
    Reset all Firefox printer settings
    # Open your profile folder:
    # On the menu bar, click on the Help menu and select Troubleshooting Information. The Troubleshooting Information tab will open.
    # Under the Application Basics section, click on Show in Finder. A window with your profile folder will open.
    # Note: If you are unable to open or use Firefox, follow the instructions in Finding your profile without opening Firefox.
    # On the menu bar, click on the Firefox menu and select Quit Firefox.
    # In your profile folder, copy the prefs.js file to another folder to make a backup of it.
    # Open the original prefs.js file in a text editor (such as TextEdit).
    # Remove all lines in prefs.js that start with print. and save the file.
    # If something goes wrong when you open Firefox, close it again and overwrite prefs.js with the backup you made.

  • Exporting to PDF cutting off right side of the page.

    I am exporting a Crystal Report to PDF. This works perfect on our development and staging server. However, on the production server the PDF is cut off on the right. Like, instead of being 8.5" wide, it looks to be about 7.5" wide? It just cut off the right side of the PDF. Very weird. Republished the site but did not change anything.
    But here's the odd part. We have another Crystal Report on the production server that exports to PDF just fine. Just this one report, "invoice2.rpt", is having issues. "invoice2.rpt" was originally copied from "invoice.rpt" so all of the settings (that I have looked at) are exactly the same. This report was formatted a little differently than the original.
    Does anyone have any thoughts about what might be causing this to happen?
    Thanks,
    Randy

    Hi Randy,
    I have seen a similar issue in the past and the problem was due to the fact that some fields and or objects were placed in part or completely outside of the margins of the report. This can be checked opening the report from Crystal Reports > Design view.
    I would suggest opening the report from Crystal Reports, select the option 'No printer' from File menu>Page setup and double-check that the report has been created inside the report margins (From Design View, the report space should be white except if the background colour has been modified).
    If this does not help, please clarify if the issue is faced from Crystal Reports or from Business Objects Enterprise/Crystal Reports Server and the version you are using.
    Thank you,
    Selenia
