Pagination in custom reports

Hi,
I have formatted my report using PL/SQL with htp.p. Hence the layout is derived from my SQL . I am unable to use the available pagination schemes even if I mention them at the report level. Is there any way I could use them ?
If not , do I need to incorporate the whole Pagination thing in my SQL ?
Thanks

I think Sharon from the APEX product team summed up your options on the other thread at Grouping report
You might want to take a look at one of Carl's similar examples at
http://apex.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=11933:1
http://apex.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=11933:17
where the master rows are shown on the report and the detail row(s) are pulled (on demand using xmlhttp) when you click on the Detail link.
Hope this helps.

  • Custom report sorting + pagination

    Hi,
    We have a classic Apex report which can be sorted by three different columns. These columns are indexed, so that with a first_rows(n) hint the first page of rows are fetched quickly, even though the entire result set has > 5 billion rows.
    We need to alter this report to use a pipelined function in order to remove the SQL from Apex. Therefore we need the pipelined function to do the order by and pagination internally, rather than Apex adding the order by and pagination - otherwise Oracle would have to materialise the entire result set.
    Can anyone suggest a way to do tihs?
    Is there a way to get a user's sort preferences and pagination for a report in PL/SQL?
    I traced apex_util.remove_sort_preferences to see them in WWV_FLOW_PREFERENCES$, but would prefer to use an Apex API if one is available.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    I have found the solution to control the message.
    In tread Translation or Replacement for Message This form contains unsaved changes.. it says that there is an undocumented text message WWV_RENDER_REPORT3.UNSAVED_DATA.
    Now i still have the wish to change the java alert box to an modal dialog, anybody??

  • Custom Report Template Issue

    Hi,
    I have a Custom Report Template, it is a Named Column(Row) Report that I have created. It seems I can get the look and feel I want on a per row basis. But when I try and convert it to be able to loop through for a specific type, like a break on the first column, it gets all messed up. I was wondering if someone might be able to shed some light for me on this I have tried everything
    Here is the row template
    <table width="100%"  border="0" cellspacing="1" cellpadding="0" bgcolor="#000000">

    Yes this html is probably from 1998 or 1999 I think they told me actually lol
    So there is no way to accomplish what I am trying to do then?
    There is no way I could use a break on first column and modify the header info to get the same sort of look and feel?Still not really clear what you are trying to accomplish, and in my view there are so many problems with the "look and feel" that it's not worth perpetuating.
    Making a lot of assumptions, I've come up with the kind of HTML structure I'd use when marking up this kind of data. I added a page 2 to your example on apex.oracle.com, showing a basic presentation of this structure alongside the original for comparison, and another styled using the default theme L&F.
    <li>Given the requirement to use multi-level headers (and because I prefer to have total control over the HTML), I stayed with a custom report template rather than trying to utilise column breaking with a generic column report template. This also permits use of more advanced table structures than can be supported by standard templates, such as s<tt>colgroup</tt>s to organize the table columns as well as the rows:
    Before Rows
      <table cellpadding="0" border="0" cellspacing="0" summary="" #REPORT_ATTRIBUTES# id="report_#REGION_STATIC_ID#">
      #TOP_PAGINATION#
      <tr>
        <td>
          <table class="fish">
            <caption>Some fishy summaries</caption>
            <colgroup span="1"></colgroup>
            <colgroup span="4" class="evaluation-trips" align="right"></colgroup>
            <colgroup span="4" class="other-trips" align="right"></colgroup>
    After Rows
          </table>
        </td>
      </tr>
      #PAGINATION#
    </table><li>Rather than separate tables, the report is contained in one HTML table, utilizing the <tt>tbody</tt> element to subdivide this into separate row groups to meet the "break on first column" requirement. This is achieved using conditional row templates, with PL/SQL Expressions based on the values of metadata columns added to the query:
    Row Template 1
    Header rows and first data row for each row group. <tt>scope</tt> attributes are added to multi-column headers for improved accessibility:
      <tbody>
        <tr>
          <th colspan="9" scope="rowgroup">#C1#</th>
        </tr>
        <tr>
          <th></th>

    Row Template 1 Expression
    This template is used when the row metadata shows that the current row is in a different row group from the previous row:
    #ROW_GROUP# != #PREVIOUS_ROW_GROUP#
    Row Template 2
    This is the "default" template, used for any subsequent data rows in the row group:
        <tr class="#ALT#">
          <td class="desc">#C8#</td>
          <td>#C9#</td>
          <td>#C10#</td>
          <td>#C11#</td>
          <td>#C12#</td>
          <td>#C13#</td>
          <td>#C14#</td>
          <td>#C15#</td>
          <td>#C16#</td>
        </tr>
      #CLOSE_ROW_GROUP#Both templates make use of a <tt>#CLOSE_ROW_GROUP#</tt> column value conditionally generated in the query that returns a <tt>&lt;/tbody&gt;</tt> tag if the current row is the last data row in the row group. (Mixing logic and structure in this way is not good practice, but APEX only allows up to 4 conditional row templates, which is completely insufficient for any moderately complex structure.)

      border-collapse: collapse;
    .fish tbody tr:first-child th {
      border-top: 1px solid #fff;
      font-weight: bold;
    .fish th,
    .fish td {
      padding: 3px 6px;
    .fish th {
      border-bottom: 1px solid #fff;
      border-left: 1px solid #fff;
      background-color: #275096;
      color: #fff;
      font-weight: 300;
      text-align: left;
    .fish td {
      text-align: right;
      .fish tr.\30  td {
        background-color: #dde;
      .fish td:first-child {
        text-align: left;
    </style>The default theme L&F report adds vertical borders to separate columns and column groups (latter may not be fully effective on IE: I'm not wasting my time on quirks mode fixes for that).
    The resulting report uses 60% less vertical space, and 87% less HTML code[1] than the original. Usability and accessibility are improved by eliminating nested tables and useless table cells and shim images, increasing the contrast between text and background colours, and using alternating row backgrounds for better visual tracking.
    [1] Including whitespace, but neither template is compressed in any way: both are in fully readale format including normal whitespace indentation.

  • Custom reporting for UCCX 7

    Hello there,
    I am looking for easier ways to generate custom reports for UCCX 7, I am asking incase I go away an spend heaps of time programming stored procedures and crytal reports if there is a report pack out there or some documentation to make it a bit easier.
    Our call center team leader is asking for reports to be written for the system or modification of existing reports as the ones included are either too crowded with information or do not display what we actually want.

    As an example, there is a report called ‘Agent Not Ready Reason Code Summary Report’, this report lists some not ready codes such as 32756 etc.. (i.e. Pre-defined system codes), however we want to list our own not ready codes as well as remove some of the system ones from the report as we don’t really want them there.
    Another example is the Agent state details report, one of the columns is 'Reason Code', this is fine, however it would be nice to have a summary at the end of the report for a total count of each not ready code (with the not ready code name not just the code).
    Is there anyone out there who has written/customised reports for UCCX or know where I can find some more documentation? I have searched around but not found anything, Cisco TAC have said that they only deal with the connection of Crystal Reports to UCCX, the coding itself and help with regards to that you are basically on your own with.
    Thanks

    Hi
    There are other ways of reporting, but you are still on your own with it unless you find someone who writes a package. I'm not aware of any...
    Re your specific queries though:
    ‘Agent Not Ready Reason Code Summary Report’ - when running the report, you can go to the 'detailed' tab, and on that tab you can select 'Reason Code' as a filter and pick the codes you are interested in.
    Also that same report shows the summary (i.e. totals) of the time in those reason codes doesn't it? So that's what you wanted to see on the other report?
    Final point (and this is a common one that comes up) is that for some reason the 'reason' codes only appear as numbers in the DB. There are no lookup tables where you can link them to names for reporting. This basically means the best you can do is to edit the Crystal templates so that the static table listing the codes at the top of the report has the codes you have configured. Obviously this isn't dynamic, but it is easy as far as Crystal goes...
    Hope this helps
    Aaron

  • Pagination in HTML Report

    We currently are testing XML Publisher 5.6.2 and are very new to the this product. I have it running in OC4J test instance on 10g 10.1.2.0.x.
    My question is reqarding pagination support for reports via xml publisher in HTML format. Can someone give me an example of how to do this?
    I have created a sample .rtf template using the XMLP users guide. What I need is the following:
    Call the report from anywhere ( in this case from Oracle Portal) in HTML format (already have this working). Need the ability to pass page numbers to the report so that I can get back only the page(s) I need. So basicly I want to call the URL with a pagenumber param and have xmlp only send me that specifc page. Well, I assume this is the correct way to do it.
    Also I want to be able to inlcude the links to the different pages of the report within the HTML content that is generated so that users can click on either a previous/next button or acutal page numbers, which again would be sent to XMLP for the report in question. I guess that would mean that I have to do all this using XSL-FO within the report so that I can display these as hyperlinks as well as determining the total number of pages so that I can calculate how many page links I need to display.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    I thought somehow I could send the page numbers to XMLP and in the template we could just bring back the data based on these params.
    Currently I am already passing customer specific data to only get back what I need for example in this particular report I am passing customer name and site which brings back details for this customer/site, however, the issue is that this report/data could bring back 20 or 30 pages, in HTML the file size could be huge.
    Is there no way to set up parameters in the template itself, so the when I passed the parameter I would only get back a specific page? So lets say the report has 20 pages, I pass a parm that specificies page 4, could I not use XSL FO somehow to only deliver page 4 back? Basicly just filerting out all the other records in the XML.
    Thanks

  • EBS 11i custom report format in Excel

    We have developed Oracle EBS 11i custom reports in PDF / Text output format for a Customer. Now, the customer wants all of them to be converted into excel format since they want to do some data manipulation on the output. Are there any tools / utilities to quickly take care of this conversion?
    The output has to look like an authentic excel file with proper pagination / headers etc. Any help is appreciated.

  • Custom report to track the documents

    Hai All,
    My Client requires a custom report to track the document flow any time i.e., once the material arrives the purchase dept makes an entry like PO date the date of arrival,and Gr date the GR approval date and document handed over for  Invoice verification date and payment made date.
    How is achieve this?
    Regards

    No My client requirement is not like that,suppose one fine day if he wants to track the positon of GRN document or a bill at what stagei.e.,if in FI if they say they have not received any document to process or they hold the document for days and say just today GRN has been handed over to him ,The Materials guy has to generate a report and say this is the day the document is handed over to you.
    Is this can be done.or only out of SAP.

    Hey,
    From OIM 9.1.0.2 Reports you have two options:
    With OIMReports:
    1- Including in XML files the parameters as section: Examples of InputParameter tags and ReturnColumns tag
    2-And Creating a New Entry in the REP Table.
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E10391_01/doc.910/e10365/reporting.htm
    Section: How to create Report in OIM 9.1.0.2.
    With BIPublisher(easiest way-license is needed):
    Once you downloaded and install BIPub in your application server you will have access to all OIM report definitions.Then it is just a matter of learning how to change a report definition. It's very simple.
    It has a 'desktop tool' that you can install in your desktop. This specifc tool provides an extension to MS Word(MACRO) and you can even work with Word to generate report templates.
    Descriptions:
    0- deploy BIPublisher and OIM reports to your apps server
    1- Install the BIPublisher desktop tools in your desktop
    2- Modify the report query using the BIPub interface and add your UDF fields
    3- Run the report you want to modify from BIPub and export the generated data as XML
    4- Download the report template in RTF format
    5- With RTF file(open it) in your MS Word
    6- Load the XML file you generated in step 4 in your MS Word
    7- You could load this specif xml change what you want. (word will have a 'BI Publisher' menu with different operations you can do)
    7- With Report template(save it).
    8- Update the report template in the report definition(using the BIPub web interface
    9- Run the report again
    It means that front end page you need to edit this in Word page.

  • Error while running a custom report in OIM

    Hi All,
    I have created a new custom report for OIM and written a stored procedure for that. But while running the report from Admin console, its throws the below error:
    java.sql.SQLException: ORA-00911: invalid character
    ORA-06512: at "IDM.XL_EXCEPTION", line 149
    ORA-06512: at line 1
    ERROR,19 Jun 2011 22:09:31,665,[XELLERATE.WEBAPP],Class/Method: ReportAction/displayTabularReport encounter some problems: Error executing stored procedure
    Thor.API.Exceptions.tcAPIException: Error executing stored procedure
    Line 149 : DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE('select stmt ='|| select_stmt);
    "select_stmt" is a select query based on the OIM tables.
    Please advice.

    Seems like there is a invalid character in your SQL (Report's store procedure). Could you share with me whole content of this "select_stmt" variable?
    regards,
    Thiago L Guimaraes

  • Migrate custom reports UCCX 8.0 to 9.0 issue

    Dear all,
    We migrated UCCX 8.0 to the new UCCX 9.0. After the migration the customized reports (designed with old version of Crystal Reports) not work in the new CCX Historical Reports 9.0.
    Any idea or procedure to migrate easy the customized reports from UCCX 8.0 to 9.0 without re-design the report with Crystal Reports 11?
    Thanks so much!

    The advice I have seen in this forum, many times, is that you do NOT have Acrobat and Reader installed together, since some components are the same (same module name?) and installing Reader causes problems for Acrobat

  • Reading values from standard report in custom report dynamically

    Hello Gurus,
    I have a strange requirement, We have some standard reports which displays output in drop down blocked data. I want to create a custom report which will get that data in my internal tables.
    Just to elaborate this requirement, I will give you a example:
    I have a standard report which output as first line 'A' and second line as 'B'. Now when I press drop down in 'A', it displays line items say 1,2,3,4,5.... Similarly block 'B' once when pressed displays line items 6,7,8,9,10.
    Here I want a custom report which directly read data from this standard report and gives us the values of line items 1,2,3,4,5 in one internal table and similarly items 6,7,8,9,10 in another internal table.
    Hope the question clarifies the requirement now.
    Request you to please provide the resolution.
    Thanks,
    Harjeet

    Hi Harjeet,
    Use sumit statement for standard program and export the list to  memory. and then read list from memory and use in your custom program.
    Use below code for reference.
    DATA: t_list TYPE abaplist OCCURS 0.
    SUBMIT rfdopr10
                    ************** your options
                    AND RETURN
                    EXPORTING LIST TO MEMORY.
    CALL FUNCTION 'LIST_FROM_MEMORY'
      TABLES
        listobject       = t_list
      EXCEPTIONS
        NOT_FOUND        = 1
        OTHERS           = 2.

  • How to register custom report under Custom Development Application

    Hi 2 all
    How to register custom report under the Custom Development application in R12 vision DB, and also confirm location/folder of Custom Development application in R12.
    Thanks
    Zulqarnain

    Hi,
    You may or may not need to "register" the workflow - it depends on the changes that you made and which Item Type you modified. Some applications are essentially hard-coded to use a specific item type and process, some hard-coded to use an item type but you can configure the process to use, and some allow you to specify which item type and which process to use.
    Without knowing exactly what you have done, though, there is no specific advice that anyone can give you here on what you need to do, apart from to ensure that you have saved the new definition to the database.
