PAPI-WS Webservice

Hi, I am trying to run a sample ALBPM project that comes with studio as a web service. I am also trying to publish a WSDL for this process to an external client. Any idea where the PAPI-WS web service bundle is installed? I don't see it in the studio evalution version at least. I want to try this feature as this might be the one of the options we go as we want to separate the Web layer and BPM layers. I am getting error message when I tried to access the wsdl with the following url...
http://localhost:9595/IssueTracking/webservices/ProcessService?WSDL
I am guessing the PAPI-WS bundle is not installed in the eval copy of the studio. I would like to know how to get it and installed so that I can use the WS features.
Another quick question, any idea if PAPI-WS can support the SOAP/JMS as well? or only the SOAP/HTTP? Thanks in advance!

if you are using 5.7 the url would be:
http://localhost:9595/workspace/webservices/ProcessService?WSDL
and if you change the axis configuration file in the workspace you could enable SOAP/JMS in PAPI-WS, but it is not officially supported, so you are on your own.

  • PAPI WS and Process Webservice in the same BPM process

    Hello All -
Can we use PAPI-WS and Process Webservice in the same BPM process?
Here is my plan for usage.
    i. Use PAPI-WS for instance creation, workflow details and getting process instances.
ii. Use Process Webservice to execute particular task.
Did any one tried this and / or any idea on this?
    BR,
    Justin.

    Hi,
You can use both interfaces but keep in mind that when exposing a process as a webservice the two activities that you can invoke are the Begin and the Notification Wait.

    Hi,
When I am trying to Launch PAPI Webservices in Oracle BPM Studio 10.3.1 and in Oracle BPM Enterprise Standalone Server, I am getting the error: "HTTP Status 404 - Servlet PapiWebServiceServlet is not available".
Please help me in sorting out the issue.

To see how to invoke PAPI-WS when using Oracle BPM Studio, go to this thread: PAPI Web Service (PAPI-WS) Example for Oracle BPM Studio
Just a guess, but I'd suspect that the "Start PAPI Web Services" Studio Engine checkbox has not been checked (right mouse click the Project in your Project Navigator tab -> Engine Preferences -> click the "Advanced" tab on the right -> check the "Start PAPI Web Services" checkbox).
Here is the location of a step-by-step explanation on how to use PAPI Web Service (PAPI-WS) to create a work item instance and then run the instance inside an activity in a process running on Oracle BPM Enterprise Standalone.
    http://www.4shared.com/file/128249957/9bd6ef61/PAPI-WS_for_Oracle_BPM_Standalone.html
Be sure to use the project that is in the zip file for this example.

  • Need PAPI WebService WSDL files - INPUT & OUTPUT schema will do

    Dear Friends,
I need all the wsdl files or atleast input and output schema for all PAPI Web Services. Currently I dont have access to development env but need to put this in a document. The Oracle documents related to PAPI WS does not include this. They just show a few examples and code snippets.
    Thanks,

Try using SoapUI to view the PAPI-WS... It will list out all the methods that are available, and should allow you get what you need. You can even do this from studio, so a DEV environment isn't needed.

  • Deployment of a WebService on WLS that uses PAPI code

I have a web-service that uses PAPI code..
We need to deploy it I am guessing on the WLS server.. Where do we deploy it inside WLS? Is it under deployments or services?
Do we make a WAR or an EAR file?
We need to give the exact path for the directory.xml which is used in our code ...Where can we find this path on WLS or Enterprise Server?
    i.e.
    configuration.setProperty(ProcessService.DIRECTORY_PROPERTIES_FILE,
Also once we deploy it on WLS, what would be the WSDL path to access and make a client out of it?
    http://testServer:1234/testTicket/services/CallPAPI?wsdl
    does not work..

These jars could be found from your BPM Studio installation.

  • Question about using OC4J in a webservice test

    Hi,
I'm new in Java, and Web service world. In my company we have 9i Oracle Database with a large application developed in Forms, now they are creating a new corporate website and want to communicate with DB via Webservices.
We want to do a 'Concept test' with a PL/SQL procedure to be deployed as a webservice to OC4J in a personal computer, then try to access this webservice from the internet corporate website).
    Our questions are.
1.- Are We in a right path?
2.- OC4J embbed version is good enough to working as a web-J2EE server and run this test.
3.- What kind of configuration we have to keep in mind to make our webservice 'visible' from the internet.
4.- Is there any white-paper you recommend..
    Thanks!
    John.

2000 concurrent sessions...now that would require quite a big application server farm if you are using forms for this project. As you have experience in PL/SQL and none in Java/ADF the decision shouldn't be that hard. Java is an Object Oriented language whereas PL/SQL is procedural which means quite different ways of doing things when you e.g. want to write APIs. If you don't have any expierience in any Object Oriented language starting off with a quite big project in java might not be a good idea. This doesn't mean that you shouldn't learn java at all, but when learning a new language you usually start with a "Hello World" application, and not with writing a operating system with that language.
APEX on the other hand is plain PL/SQL and not just for small websites; a good sample is the asktom site; it is written in APEX and I guess it has a fair amount of traffic.
    So APEX has some benefits
    - you have already knowledge in house
    - you are familiar with the language
    - APEX doesn't require an application server license; you can use oracle XE and if you don't want to expose the database to the www use a plain apache server to handle the http request
So if it were me, APEX would be the way to go.
    cheers

  • Webservices in BPM10g and SOA Suite11g

    Dear Friends / Gurus -
Now I'm working on BPM 10g and PAPI-WS (and I know that, 10g also having Process as Webservice implementations)
But blocked on PAPI-WS Object mappings on arguments, and I'm sure that 11g having some good and advanced implementation for WS.
Can you please share some inputs on Webservice implementations in 11g? Or its same like 10g?
Following are the Object issues I'm facing with 10g : (second post on this thread)
    1. Re: PAPI Web Service (PAPI-WS) Example for Oracle BPM Enterprise Standalone
    Thanks in advance !!

    Justin.

    Hi,
1)To pass the value at the time of deployment, you can use config plan.xml.
2)To pass the value at run time on em console, you can use below link.

  • How to create process instance throught PAPI?

    Hi,
Can someone share how do we use PAPI to create a process instance for the Expense Management process (process in the BPM tutorial)?
I believe it is through calling the processCreateInstance() method from a ProcessServiceSession object, however, what exactly do we pass in as a parameter? I tried simply by passing in the process name and an empty Arguments object and the following exception was logged:

I'm wondering why does it complain that "fuego.papi.ProcessNotAvailableException: Process '/ExpenseReport#Default-1.0' not available.", when the ExpenseReport process is indeed a process that was published?
P.S.: I know this thread is sort of a duplicate of another thread, however I hope we can get some real examples of how to create a process instance for the Expense Management project, using PAPI (instead of PAPI webservice).

    Hi Mark,
Thanks for your prompt reply.. I tried with the above option but still am facing the same problem.
    Let me give you the brief idea of what am working on;
    1) I created a process using Oracle BPM Studio V: 10.3.1.0 & Build: #94375
    2) I publish & deploy the process using Oracle BPM Admin Center which running on top of tomcat. But in the configuration I configure the directory as well as weblogic server.
    3) I created a "Java Project" & included following jar file "b1base.jar","b1oracle.jar","b1util.jar","bcel.jar","ejb-api.jar","fuegopapi-client.jar","jms-api.jar","ojdbc14.jar","weblogic.jar","wljmsclient.jar".

  • BPM 10.3 WebService and SSO

    Hi,
I exposed a Process as simple WebService, (e.g.
    http://localhost:7001/albpmServices/bpmengine/ws/ProcessTestServiceListener?wsdl=true), and works fine.
My problem is, in our enviroment we use a custom Single Sign On class to log into workspace and
PAPI. As I discovered, the application that expose webservices derivated from process is the engine app, not PAPI or other application.
Is there a way to configure a custom SSO class in engine?
Or use another kind of authentication in exposed webservices process?

    Hi Fernando,
Thank you very much for the tip. It worked indeed. Although it worked only in a seperate process that had also a seperate global interactive process creation activity in it and calls my main process. It did not work with my main project.
Although it is actually another question, but just out of curiosity: does a process indeed need a process creation activity to be able to be started using a WebService?
    Regards,
    Martien

  • Authentication mechanism - PAPI-WS-Instance Creation

    Hi,
I am trying to create instance using papi-ws. Each instance is created for each webservice call from one system. so i dont have any specific user login to connect for login. Otherwise we use single sign on. Could anyone help me out how to proceed for authentication in BPM login. Many thanks..

    Hi,
You can use both interfaces but keep in mind that when exposing a process as a webservice the two activities that you can invoke are the Begin and the Notification Wait.

  • Oracle BPM 10gr3 PAPI-WS SSO

    Hi all,
I am trying to implement custom SSO for PAPI-WS.
I reference the following link http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12483_01/albsi60/pdf/ALBPM60_PAPI_Developer_Guide.pdf
but i don't know how to test my configuration.
I have no idea how to configure in my client.
actually my client is Oracle Service Bus.
we expose PAPI WS as Business Service in OSB.
    1. how should i configure in OSB to test my PAPI WS SSO.
    2. after i configure SSO in OBPM Admin Center, do i need to configure Transport level authenticatioin and webservice security?
if necessary, which one i should use?
