Parameter Files Error

Hi everybody,
I am working with Oracle BI Apps, and I use Informatica as ETL tool and DAC(Datawarehouse Administration Console) as a manager of Informatica.
In DAC I have execution plans that execute informatica workflows.
My problem is next:
I have this 3 paths where I have parameters file:
/tfnac3/3rdparty/oraclebi/infrmatica/901/server/infa_shared/SrcFiles
/tfnac3/oraclebi/product/OracleBI/DAC/bifoundation/dac/Informatica/parameters/input
/tfnac3/oraclebi/product/OracleBI/DAC/bifoundation/dac/Informatica/parameters
Inside this parameters files I have this value mplt_BC_ORA_ProductDimension.$$MASTER_ORG='204' by default, then I changed to mplt_BC_ORA_ProductDimension.$$MASTER_ORG=136, because this is the real value that I need, but when I execute my execution plan in DAC, in this path /tfnac3/oraclebi/product/OracleBI/DAC/bifoundation/dac/Informatica/parameters the value in parameter file return to '204'.
My question is,
Do you know why is this happen?
Is there another path where I can find more parameters files?
Is there any another way to change this value, I mean another configuration that I can do to change this value?
Regards,
Arnulfo.

hi,
if this parameter is listed under dac-->design -->source system prameters
change the value of mplt_BC_ORA_ProductDimension.$$MASTER_ORG to 136
and assign the physical path of parameter filename given in workflow manger ( default is $PMSourceFileDir\) to InformaticaParameterFileLocation     in dac
under setup-->dac system setup properties ex:
InformaticaParameterFileLocation     C:\Informatica\9.0.1\server\infa_shared\SrcFiles

  • ZAV 10 - Unable to open parameter file error

When trying to launch a ZAV 10 app, C-Cure Administration Console, users are getting an error "**Unable to open parameter file cc800cl.pf, errno 2. (1247)". This only appears to be happening on Win7. This did work when first created, but after a few weeks the error has started to pop-up.

If this was working and is not now, and you are certain nothing has changed on the client systems (or at least nothing that could interfere here), then this might be an issue with the license used when building the application. What is the expiry date of your license and was it applied prior to building this exe?
If this isn't expiring please open an SR for this issue, if you can. This is the information the support team will require:
    - Copies of any warnings or errors around the time the issue occurs (or a copy of the application and system event logs, in .evtx format)
    - A copy of the exe you are using
    - If you can build the exe again as a diagnostic-mode executable and provide the diagnostics generated when attempting to run, that can be very helpful
    - It may also be required that you send installation media for the application and your build process, so the team can attempt to reproduce the issue in-house
    - You will also typically be asked for the .xappl file and associated Files folder, if reproducing in-house is required. This will become absolutely necessary if a ticket needs to be filed with Spoon, so sending it ahead of time is a good idea

Check the value for the parameter "COMPATIBLE" in the source and standby database instance parameter files.
    "COMPATIBLE" should be the same.
    See http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14239/create_ps.htm#i70517

    Hello Experts,
The file system /sapdb/data was 100% full some time ago, and since then we cannot start one of the database instances anymore.
When trying to start the instance it returns:

However, there is no indication which parameter file is corrupt. There is nothing written in directory /sapdb/data/wrk/WD2 when I try to start, so the KnlMsg file does not change either.
My question is for which parameter file is the checksum not correct? Is there a way to fix this parameter file?
I have searched google and SDN but not found anything usefull so far.

    Hi Rob,
there is just one parameter file for each MaxDB instance - the currently active one.
    It's the file /sapdb/data/config/<SID>.
As your current file seems to be damaged, you may rename it and run a
    param_restore 1
to get the last backed up version of it back.
ATTENTION : If you modified the volume configuration before the file got corrupt and no backup version of the parameter file had been created since than,  restoring the old version will make your database unstartable.
The missing volume configuration parameters would then need to bee added manually again.

  • "Missing parameter values" error on Export

    Hi,
I am getting "Missing Parameter Values" error if all required parameter values are not passed in the report through application. Same error is not coming when all the parameters are passed.
And parameter window also not displaying if all parameters are not passed to the report for export option. (Parameter window displaying on preview option if all the parameters are not supplied).
I have tried both Report Viewer's ExportReport function & ReportDocument's Export function. But both are results same.
    Software details:
Crystal Report created in Version: 10.0.0.533
    .Net 2005
10.2 Crystal component. Crystal Runtime Version - v2.0.50727 and DLL Version - 10.2
Please help me to resolve this issue.
    Thanks,

Given example is not working as expected.
    1) Calling of  ExportReport() function invokes the file Save As window to save the exported file eventhough exported path & file name supplied in the program.
    2) After accepting the output file name, "Missing parameter values" error coming instead of displaying Crystal's Parameter window.
Below is the piece of code to export the output. I am calling Export() function if all the parameters are supplied by the application otherwise i am calling Viewer's ExportReport() fuction. Please have a look and let me know if any code change is required.

  • Parameter file not found in the location as specified by infa workflow log

    Hi,
I am unable to find the Parameter file in the location, /u01/obi/inf_svr/server/infa_shared/Temp/SDE_ORA_APTransactionFact_ExpenseDistribution_Full_vxqbGa, as specified in the Informatica workflow log. But Informatica maps are succeeding without any error. Also Parameter file location specified by DAC is different ie /u01/obi/inf_svr/server/infa_shared/SrcFile and proper parameter file exist in this location. Please someone help clarify what is happening here and how the maps are succeeding with the parameter file as specified in th workflow log.

How to configure the task(Informatica workflow) which contains two sessions in it?
Because I found a recommendation that every workflow should have only one session in it and the session name must be same as that of workflow name. But my requirement is, I have to configure a workflow in DAC which contains two sessions in it.
Thanks a lot in advance for all your help sir.

    4. When I log on as oracle user and query v$instance, then error shown above occured. And also when startup  the database then another error occured as in above. WHY?
    5. When I edit /etc/oratab file manually why second row saved but the first one is changed after restart the system?
    6. Normally, which user have to start, stop or manage database? I think that oracle user is necessary for managing database and the grid user is only for managing ASM and Oracle Restart.

I have installed an Oracle 11gR2 on Oracle Linux Server 6.6 (Virtualbox)
Pl identify exact version of 11gR2 to 4 decimal places. As noted in your other thread - Failed to start oracle-ohasd, error: Inappropriate ioctl for device ohasd failed to start at roothas.pl - you will need a minimum version of 11.2.0.3 for Linux 6.x - using a lower version may result in unexpected issues or problems.

    Thnaks,

Hallo! I have just installed Oracle 10g in Solaris 10.When I logged into sqlplus / as sysdba if found that I was connected to an idle instance. When I tried to startup open the db, the following error appeared
    Connected to an idle instance.
    SQL> startup open;
ORA-01078: failure in processing system parameters
LRM-00109: could not open parameter file '/export/home/oracle/product/10.2.0/db_1/dbs/initsolaris.ora'
My pfile has the name init.ora and not initsolaris.ora.How can I change the settings to make the Oracle database start via pfile init.ora.
Eventually,I would like the db to read the spfile spfileorcl.ora during the startup. How can I achieve this?
    Thanks

By default, oracle will look first for a spfile named "spfile<ORACLE_SID>.ora". Lacking that, it will try to find "init<ORACLE_SID>).ora.
Eventually,I would like the db to read the spfile spfileorcl.ora during the startup. How can I achieve this?
Once you have started the db (I believe a startup nomount will be sufficient) you can issue CREATE SPFILE ... Details are in the fine SQL Reference manual found at tahiti.oracle.com
BTW, "open" is the default behavior of "startup", so no need to specify it. A simple "startup" does the same thing.
    Thanks

  • Alert log and Trace file error

Just found this in one of our alertlog file
Thread 1 cannot allocate new log, sequence 199023
    checkpoint not complete
    and this in trace file:
    RECO.TRC file
    ERROR, tran=7.93.23662, session# =1, ose=60:
    ORA-12535: TNS: operation timed out

Why would you increase the log files when the problem is a distributed transaction timed out?
Distributed transactions time out when the data they need to access is locked. Unlike a local session that wants to update a row, which will wait forever, a distributed transaction times out. In earlier versions of Oracle you could set init.ora parameter distributed_lock_timeout to manage the timeout period. Oracle has since made this into an underbar parameter.
The solution is to ignore the problem unless it appears regularly in which case you have an application design issue.

What steps did you use to add the Replicat?  Can you list those commands out.
Also, does this file actually exist on the server where Replicat is running: C:\app\Oracle\product\gg\dirdat\tr000000
