Parameters report whit StoredProcedure

Hi everyone,
i've a big problem with a report:
This reports uses a StoredProcedure with 3 parameters, one of this is "Agent NAME" (string).
This report is used by an application and it pass to the report the "agent value"...
The problem is this:
When an agent open the report, he can see in a combo his value name but he can modify the name too ( typing new values).
Unfortunately, I cannot change the parameter and i cannot set 'FALSE' in the parameter proprieties: "CUSTOM VALUES".
How can I avoid that the agent inserts the custom values?
I want that the agent opens the report and doesn't insert any values.
PLEASE HELP ME!!!!
Thanks!

  • Error in generating parameterized report in siebel 8.1.1.5

Hi, we recently upgraded to siebel 8.1.1.5. My report displays the values selected by the user in the parameter applet. I have done the following as indicated in the Reports Guide:
    1) Define parameters in Siebel UI
    Label: Report View Type
    Name: Report_View_Type
    Type: LOV
    Picklist: Plan List Report Type
    2) Declare the parameter in rtf template
    <?param@begin: Report_View_Type?>
    3) Upload template in Templates view
    4) Associate view
The parameter applet appears but after clicking the Submit button, Siebel goes idle. I can't do anything so I resort to closing the entire window. I don't seem to find any error logged in the xdo.log file:

As you can see, I am testing for only one parameter and am unsuccessful in generating the pdf. Anyone who has a success story with the enhanced parameterized reporting in Siebel 8.1.1.5? We have no problems generating the regular BIP reports (non-parameterized) so I think we can rule out any patch installation issues. Appreciate any help :)

Please close this thread...it appears that the error occurs when the report involves a big set of records. I tried trying to filter only one record and was able to produce the pdf

  • Siebel BIP Parameterized Report Date Comparison

    Hello,
we are working on a Siebel/BI Publisher integration and are using parameterized reports.
In the parameters we would like to enter 2 dates, "From" and "To" date to receive eg all Service Requests (from an employee) in this timeframe.
<?param@begin: ’string’?> Problem is that date is not working?
We also tried to achieve this with this function but were not sucesfull yet:
    xdoxslt: date_diff ... psfn: getCanonicalDate
Main Problem is to get the Date from the parameters into the report.
How can i achieve this, is there any best practice out there?
    Thanks,
    D.

    Hi BIPuser:
Thanks for the response. The link provides on how to convert the Siebel date data but not enough details on passing the start date and end date which is then compared with Siebel date data( In our case Activity Creation Date). We are working on generating reports from Siebel through Integration with BI Publisher. In the parameters we would like to enter 2 dates, "From" and "To" date. I have declared the parameter in RTF as <?param@begin: StartDate;'mm/dd/yyyy';'Date'?>. From Siebel able to get the parameter declared passed onto Paramater applet. When I enter Start Date which is passed as string rather than date. We want to pass the start date and end date as date parameter and then compare it with creation date which is coming from XML (Data Field) and filter records based on the start date and end date. How can we achieve this. Please suggest.

  • Dynamic report columns in parameterized report

    Hi all,
Just wanted to share some ideas... I was looking for a way to allow users to seect which columns to display in a parameterized report.
I came across Denes Kubicek's solution on his APEX demo site (the "Pick Columns" page)... works beautifully.
The only problem I had was that some of the report columns required joins to other tables. (up to 5 left outer joins). Could not figure out how to do this based on Denes sample solution. I then thought of creating a view, which joined all the required fields for output. I then run my report against the view... this works even better.
I also used a shuttle instead of a multi-select list, since I have about 25 columns to pick from... I find the shuttle a lot more flexible (re-ordering of columns etc..)
One thing I still haven't figured out yet though, is how to make the columns sortable? If I check off the sort check box on the report atttributes for the generic "col0"... I get an oracle error...
If anyone has figured this one out, please let me know..
Thanks to Denes for the solution...
    Stephane

Actually, getting the error, albeit intermittently...
Here is the SQL debug output

    failed to parse SQL query:
ORA-01785: ORDER BY item must be the number of a SELECT-list expressionFor some reason, in the order by it puts 4,1... but I only have 3 columns in my select list...
If I choose an additional column, then the query works. I'm also confused as to why it sorts on the 1st column as well? In my report attributes, I do not specify a sort sequence, so I figure it would simply sort on the chosen column index.
This query used was working fine yesterday with one or two columns...
    Any ideas?

  • Parameterized Report Bug? Or am I missing something simple

    Hi Guys,
I have experienced a wierd problem when creating parameterized reports - I have followed exactly the example in Chapter 2 of the XE 2 day plus apex developer guide - here is a description of my problem:
The report displays correctly and clicking on the Go link after selecting value from the select list dynamically changes what is displayed as expected. However, if the query returns more than 15 rows then I start to encounter this wierd problem. Essentially if you click on the next arrow link to look at more information it displays the next set of results as expected. The problem occurs though when I then select another value from the select list and click Go - nothing is displayed even though I know that it should have! It seems to be a problem when navigating to the secondary results page?
Does anyone have any ideas how to overcome this as I need to use this type of functioanlity in a app that I am building.
    All pointers much appreciated.
    Stuart

    Stuart
This is an age old APEX/HTMLdb problem. If you are viewing page 2 and you change the filter so that there is only one pages worth of report, then you end up with a pagination error. You have found the fix. You also need to be careful when delete values from a report for the same reason.

  • Displaying parameterized reports in sharepoint 2013

    hello experts...
i have parameterized reports in ssrs 2008 r2 and i want to deploy it on sharepoint 2013...how can i deployed it?
i have deployed the un-paremeterized reports on sp 2013.

The approach is same. All parameters displays normally like in SSRS report viewer.
I understand you are doing integration in traditional way with SharePoint.

  • Parameterized Report

    Hi,
I am very new to HTMLDB, so I am still trying to get a handle on it.
I create a Parameterized Report using a select list paremeters as per the documentation.
I tried to switch the parameter to a multiple select but the report returns no data when two values are selected.
Can somebody exaplin how I can get around this?
    Thanks

I have a Reports Region of type SQL Query (PL/SQL Function Body Returning SQL Query)
In my Region Source I have a PL/SQL block.
    I declared a variable called Q defined as a VARCHAR2(4000)
    DECLARE
    Q VARCHARE2(4000);
    BEGIN
Then before my query I have my multiselect item named p5_organization that I have formatted with the statement of:
    :p5_organization := REPLACE(:p5_organization,':', ''''||','||'''');
    In my query I have:
    Q := 'SELECT organization FROM ';
    Q := Q||' account WHERE a.organization IN (';
    Q := Q|''''||:p5_organization;
    Q:= Q||'''' || ')' ;
    RETURN q;
    END;
I'm concatenating single quotes (4 of them) before and after the variable in the select which will get resolved to just a single quote at the beginning and a single quote at the end of the string.
HTML DB returns the selection, as you found out, as value:value:...
The replace function will take out the : and replace it with a single quote when it gets resolved. That's the reason for the 4 quotes that I'm concatenating in the replace.
    Does that help at all?

  • Parameterized report by name search

    I have an employees table.
I want to be able to have a parameterized report where the user will enter the FirstName of the employee and it will return all employees with the entered "FirstName"...
Thanks for your answers in advance...
    Dhananjay Rele

you can simply use  procedure like below
    CREATE PROC getEmployeeData
    @FirstName varchar(100)
    AS
    SELECT columns...
    FROM EMployee
    WHERE FirstName = @FirstName
    GO
I'm assuming column names so make sure you use correct column names instead
Once you create it you can go to SSRS, add a new report and create a new dataset using below query
    EXEC getEmployeeData @FirstName
When you try to execute it it prompts for Firstname value. Give a test value and execute it to show the results. then click refresh and it will automatically add fields as well as parameters to report.
In left window right click on parameters, click properties and property window appears. You can edit properties like datatype, label etc here for the parameter. Then go to preview tab and you can see prompt for firstname. Pass any value and click view report
to see the report with the data.

  • How to Create a Parameterized Report - The select "- ALL-" for department and manager not working.

I downloaded the OEHR Sample Objects application and followed the steps in Oracle® Application Express Advanced Tutorials

The parameters and report seem to be working correctly except when I enter "all" for department or manager I get no matching hits.
What's the most efficient way to retrieve "all" if the users selects all for dept and mgr - thus we'd want to return all records in the table.

  • How To Run a Parameterized Report Stored in Crystal Enterprise on demand

I have been integrating into Crystal Enterprise 10 for  many years now with no problem.  We use .net to schedule and run reports as well some administration tasks.  Users can view reports through our asp.net web application using the crystal viewers.
However, I now have a task that requires us to run a report that is stored in CE on demand.  This can NOT be done through the viewer because it will not have direct user interaction.  The crystal report has to be bundled with other documents and then displayed to the user in a single PDF.  I have everything working right now if the report has already been scheduled and ran through CE.
What I can't figure out to do is how to actually run the report in CE on demand and immediately get the results back.  I can't schedule it (even for immediate running) because I can't have it backed up in the job server queue.  If the report was local on the machine that Integerate with CE, I think it is as simple as loading document, setting parameters, and calling refresh.  However, I need this to happen in CE with the RAS or PageServer server.  In other words, the execution of the report needs to occur on server and I need the end results.
I have scoured the Net looking for an example but everything either talks about scheduling through Job server or on demand through the viewer.
    Hopefully someone can help.

Thanks for the answer Elaine, but I am still not quite there.
We already had interactive on-demand report viewing working through our web app.
The problem is that I need non-interactive on-deman report running.  Let me explain the process a little more to help paint the picture of the process we have.
    1.  While working in our application, the user selects an "information dump" on the selected the employee.  This dump is information from a number of different places and document types.
    2.  The application then goes to each of these different information areas and converts the information to PDF format.
    3.  Application stitches all the individual PDF files into a single PDF which is what is returned to the user via the web application.  The delivery mechanism cannot change due to requirement limitations.
Currently, the information is coming from multiple MS Word mailmerge documents merged "on-the-fly" with data for the employee and a stored HTML worksheet that is also converted to PDF.
We now have to add a PDF version of 2 reports that are ran when the user requests the information dump.
I already have the code to connect to CE and get a reference to the RASReportFactory.  We do this today using the interactive viewer.  However, we use the viewer to display reports that have already been scheduled and ran.  This means we simply make a call to RASReportFactory.OpenReportSource to get the source for the viewer.
We now can't have a viewer in this process.  I found the call to the method OpenDocument on RASReportFactory to get a handle to a ReportClientDocument.
I know how to properly set the values for the report arguments as well as the database information.
What I don't see is a method to tell it to run the report.  I see Save and SaveAs but this simply saves the document by to CE or to a local file with the changes I made to parms and db info.
What do I call to tell it to execute the report so I can turn around and export it to PDF?  Thats the million dollar question.

HelloI use CR XI R2 Developer on my computer and offered version of BO XI SP3 with five users named on Windows 2003 server All reports are based on Oracle 10G database with the same server, user and password parametersIn Infoview, all reports work fine but when a report is used, database parameters are visible (only password) and can be modified Is there a solution to lock and hide all databases parameters (In CMC, I have only find how to not display filters) ? Thank you by advanceXavier

  • Even with parameters, reports reading entire data source and then filtering

I'm working with an Oracle database (read-only access) and Crystal Reports 2008.  I have created a report and added three parameters for which I have already done all necessary steps in the select expert.  But when I do a Print preview of the report, and after selecting the parameter values, the report tries to read all of the data source records before the parameters are utilized by the report.  In other words, if the data source has 100,000 records, the report will return (in the background) all 100,000 records and then filter among these returned records to present/display the data according to the provided parameter values.  Instead, I would like it to use the parameters first so that only those records that meet the parameter value criteria are read into the report from the "get go"...Since I only have read only access to the Oracle database, I cannot write a stored procedure either...(company policy)...Can parameters be used to read in only pertaining records instead of filtering already read in records in a given report?  Is there some syntax that can be entered into a Command type connection to do this?

I've tried that but I'm now getting an error on line 6...

  • Problem with parameterized reports in InfoView interface with Russian local

    Please, help!
We have a problem with users, who have u201CRussianu201D as Info View portal interface language. Users have problems with reports which are parameterized. When user tries to select a custom date he gets prompt with incorrect template "Enter Date Report: - jj.nn.aaaa H:mm:ss". As a result the report is not updated. If User uses English interface all is OK.

    Maksim,
Could you provide the following info:
    1) BOE XIR2 or BOE XI3.1?
    2) Which Patch-level?
    3) Are you using the JAVA infoview or .NET infoview?
    4) Which kinds of reports are you attempting to put the custom date range in (CR, Webi, Deski)
    Thanks!

  • Maximum size - Lexical Parameters - Report 2.5

    Hi
We are using Oracle Reports 2.5 .
Want to know what is the maximus size we can have for a lexical parameter .
    Is it 2000 chars ?
We have 3 lexical parameters in our where clause of the query .
What is the maximum Length of the 3 lexical parameters (combined) we can have ?
    Thanks

Hi Kai,Thanks for the reply.I can see that the maximum cache size has been set to 10000KB.Does this govern the number of records that is returned by a report? The idle jobs get closed in 20 minutes. Could you please provide me a pointer of where do we set up this parameter of limitting the number of records that a report returns? Thanks again,Aravind.

  • Bursting and Parameterized report

    Hi,
    My scenario is as follows:
I have a report which displays customer details for particular month.
Previously, I created this report with two parameters -
    a) Customer ID
    b) Month-Year
Now, I have to use bursting to generate report for each combination of customer and month-year
    My questions are,
    1) In this case, I have two KEY values - Customer and Month-Year
But, we can give only one KEY value.
How should I add Customer ID as well as Month-Year in KEY tag?
    2) If I have to use bursting capability, I have to remove parameters - Customer ID and Month-Year
Because, if I keep it, my data set query has filter on it
and I don't get any result for bursting.
Can we use parameters and bursting at the same time?
    For example:
    Previously my query was,
    Select Customer_ID, Month_Year from Customers where Customer_ID = :Customer_ID and Month_Year = :Month_Year
    In Bursting Query will be,
    Select Customer_ID, Month_Year from Customers
I want to use both the capabilities -
    a) User should be able to view report with parameters
    b) User should be able to burst the report
    Thanks for help

    Thanks for reply..
    Following are my comments:
    1. I will try that. Thanks
    2. Ok. Good.
    3. See,
    My Data Set Query is,
    Select Customer_ID, Month_Year from Customers where Customer_ID = :Customer_ID(Parameter 1) and Month_Year(Parameter 2) = :Month_Year
Here, :Customer_ID and :Month_Year are parameters
    Default values would be,
    Say, Customer ID = '123456'
    And, Month_Year = '201412'
In this scenario, user can enter customer ID and month-year
In case of bursting, how we can handle this?
    4. We don't expect NULL values as reports will be fetched from processed data
    5. When bursting, we wnat to create PDFs for each Customer ID and Month-Year combination
So there will not be any input parameters (Customer ID and Month_Year)
