Parameters via Administrator?

Hi
I am setting up a series of Discoverer folders. Each is based on a table that will have an effective_start_date and effective_end_date column on them. I want to set it up so that when running any report on these folders, the user will be prompted to enter the 'date' they want to run the report for - which will in turn invoke a condition on each folder of 'where "parameter" between effective_start_date and effective_end_date'. I want it so that the user only enters the date once but it's filtered through to the condition on all folders so would like to set it up via administrator but can't see a way to do it.
Is there a way to do it or can anyone suggest a clever alternative?
Thanks
Martin

You would need to case the infoobject as IWebi instead of IReport as IReport is an interface to reference crystal reports. Please refer to the dev guides available at help.sap.com for understanding the SDK's better.
Below is the example how to do it
IWebi boReport = (IWebi)boInfoObjects.get(0);
  IWebiFormatOptions boReportFormat = (IWebiFormatOptions)((IWebiProcessingInfo)boReport).getWebiFormatOptions();
  //Set report format.
  int boFormatType = IWebiFormatOptions.CeWebiFormat.EXCEL;
  boReportFormat.setFormat(boFormatType);
Also if you are on BI 4.x version, you would not be able to schedule webi reports with prompts using the BusinessObjects Enterprise Platform Java SDKs, however simple schedule is still possible.
You would need to go for the Restful webservice sdks for that. Search on the scn forum and you will find a lot of posts which would explain why you cannot schedule a webi report with prompts from BI 4.x
For any queries regarding Restful API's refer to the below forum. It has many blogs and documents which might help you

  • Passing Parameters via Post Method from Webdynpro Java to a web application

    Hello Experts,
    I want to pass few parameters from a web dynpro application to an external web application.
    In order to achieve this, I am referring to the below thread:
    HTTP Post
    As mentioned in the thread, I am trying to create an additional Suspend Plug parameter (besides 'Url' of type String) with name 'postParams' and of type Map.
    But when I build my DC, I am getting the same error which most of the people in the thread have mentioned:
    Controller XXXCompInterfaceView [Suspend]: Outbound plug (of type 'Suspend') 'Suspend' may have at most two parameters: 'Url' of type 'string' and 'postParams' of type 'Map'.
    I am using SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio Version: 7.01.00
    Kindly suggest if this is the NWDS version issue or is it something else that I am missing out.
    Also, if it is the NWDS version issue please let me know the NWDS version that I can use to avoid this error.
    Any other suggestion/alternative approach to pass the parameters via POST method from webdynpro java to an external web application apart from the one which is mentioned in the above thread is most welcome.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Anurag

    Hi,
    This is purely a java approach, even you can try this for your requirement.
    There are two types of http calls synchronous call or Asynchronous call. So you have to choose the way to pass parameters in post method based on the http call.
    if it is synchronous means, collect all the values from users/parameters using UI element eg: form and pass all the values via form to the next page is nothing but your web application url.
    If it is Asynchronous  means, write a http client in java and integrate the same with your custom code and you can find an option for sending parameters in post method.
    here you go and find the way to implement Asynchronous  scenario,

    Hi,
    how can i pass parameters via POST method from WD Application using WDPortalNavigation.navigateAbsolute method

    Thanks,

    What is the procedure to pass parameters via POST using WebDynpro ?
    I am required to pass XML Data via POST.
    I have gone through the following :
    a) http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/9e/a073001903c9419592b14c2aa63669/content.htm

    Can anyone throw light on the same ?

  • Pass procedure/function parameters via URL

    how to pass procedure or function parameters via URL? External link processes payment, and returns some data. I have an example procedure that forms correct URL like:
    http://www.website.lt:7777/apex/f?p=109:6:1512552728675996::::P23_LOGIN_ID:UTREEP7Q84FHG
    but the other procedure returns with URL (and its wrong):
    http://www.website.lt:7777/apex/nora.pay_cancel?token=EC-76F379209K155914F
    the source of pay_cancel procedure:
    create or replace procedure pay_cancel
    (token in varchar2)
    as
    begin
    owa_util.redirect_url('f?p='||'109'||':'||'5'); --some test page
    end pay_cancel;
    whats wrong with the return variable?

    Sorry, permission problems, everything is OK with +<schema>.<procedure>?<variable>=<value>+ syntax.
    Execute sql: grant execute on pay_cancel to public;

  • Reference additional parameters via the URL

    Is it possible to reference additional parameters via the URL?
    I would like to be able to reference the value of CUSTOM_PARAM in the following simple example
    f?p=4000:1500:3712511906556636:::RP::&CUSTOM_PARAM=12345

    Hello Craig,
    I dont know if you already solved the problem but as you probably noticed I had the same, if you are running on a remote host with minimum privileges this is simply not possible but if you have your personal server and database this is the solution to go(thanks to your idea).
    create or replace procedure APEX_040000.f2(
    P in varchar2,
    P_SEP in varchar2 default null,
    P_TRACE in varchar2 default null,
    C in varchar2 default null,
    PG_MIN_ROW in varchar2 default null,
    PG_MAX_ROWS in varchar2 default null,
    PG_ROWS_FETCHED in varchar2 default null,
    FSP_REGION_ID in varchar2 default null,
    SUCCESS_MSG in varchar2 default null,
    NOTIFICATION_MSG in varchar2 default null,
    CS in varchar2 default null,
    S in varchar2 default null,
    TZ in varchar2 default null,
    P_LANG in varchar2 default null,
    P_TERRITORY in varchar2 default null,
    code in varchar2 default null, <-- Custom variable
    error_reason in varchar2 default null, <-- Custom variable
    error in varchar2 default null <-- Custom variable
    +) is+
    begin
    --write your code here+
    APEX_040000.f(P => P,P_SEP => P_SEP, P_TRACE => P_TRACE,C => C, PG_MIN_ROW => PG_MIN_ROW, PG_MAX_ROWS => PG_MAX_ROWS, PG_ROWS_FETCHED => PG_ROWS_FETCHED, FSP_REGION_ID => FSP_REGION_ID, SUCCESS_MSG => SUCCESS_MSG, NOTIFICATION_MSG => NOTIFICATION_MSG, CS => CS, S => S,TZ => TZ,P_LANG => P_LANG,P_TERRITORY  =>  P_TERRITORY);
    end f2;
    Then it is important to indeed grant public access to it with:
    grant execute on APEX_040000.f2 to public;
    Now here comes to part that actually does it and where the right privileges are needed.
    create or replace public synonym f for APEX_040000.f2;
    Overloading the F procedure didnt work for some reason, probably because F is a wrapped procedure.
    But this worked perfect !!!

  • How to configure some of VMX file configurations / VM Configuration Parameters via vCloudDirector REST API

    Hi
    We need to configure some settings for VM using vCloudDirector REST API other wise which can be down in 2 following ways.
    1. On VCenter -> select VM  ( in Power Off Mode ) -> Edit Settings -> Options -> Advanced -> General -> Configuration Parameters
         Add row with values like below
               ethernet0.ctxPerDev = 1
    2. -OR- directly login to Esxi Shell .. Open VMX file ( of the VM  - which can be located in /etc/vmware/hostd/vmInventory.xml ) and  add entries manually.
          Follow this KB http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=1714
          for editing VMX file.
    We would like to know how this can be achieved using vCloud Director REST. We are using 5.5 versions for both VCD and VCenter.
    Thanks for help.

    This level of modification is not available via vCloud Director's API afaik.  A similar question came up recently about modifying the amount of Video Memory on a VM, which you have to create some sort of custom workflow directly to vCenter/ESXi about.

  • How to modify a part of task parameters via worklist (not all paramenters)?

    I am making a demo of showing the functions of human workflow / worklist using Oracle SOA Suite. The following process is not a real project. But I have some questions about how to modify parameters in worklist and jdeveloper. Please help me.
    I create a BPEL with human workflow. It has 2 human tasks.
    The first human task is a single approver type and the parameters contents can be modified via worklist. The user is oc4jadmin.
    If oc4jadmin rejects it, the process will go to the second human task.
    The second human task is a sequential lists of approvers type and the parameters contents can be modified via worklist. 3 users (the order is : jcooper -> jlondon-> tolstoy) can access it. The process is able to abrupt completion if anyone rejects it.
    After the process is invoked in BPEL control,
    1, oc4jadmin login worklist and modified the data, than reject it.
    2, jcooper can login worklist and changed the data, save it, and approve.
    3, jlondon login, view data, change data, and save it. However, if jlondon modified the
    My questions are as follow:
    1, If oc4jadmin rejects the task in worklist, how can I set the parameter cannot be modified and saved.
    2, schema:
    <schema attributeFormDefault="unqualified"
         elementFormDefault="qualified"

    3, One element likes gender=male/female. In the worklist form, the default graphic component is an input field. How can I set the component to a dropdown list and it highlight value.
    4, The default form is jsp file and it is beautiful. Could I make a jspx page and replace the jsp page? How to replace the jsp to jspx?
    5, If I use sequencial approver type for the human task, how can I set various page layout? For example, user 1 can view and modified all parameters. User 2 can view some part of the parameters and changes it. User 3 can view all paramters but can just modified some of them?
    Thanks a lot!

  • Call stored procedure(with parameters) via odbc

    In my application I like to use the below statement to call a stored procedure with parameter and return a result set.
    {CALL PP.getPerson('daniel')}
    but this will just return errors to my application.
    If I change the statement to:
    {CALL PP.getPerson(?')}
    and bind a parameter and its value, it will work.
    My question is, is it possible to call a stored procedure via ODBC without binding parameters in application? I mean, what will be my SQL equivalent if I don't want to do parameter binding in my application?
    Thanks in advance. I appreciate any help :-)

  • Calling Transaction SP01 (Display spool requests) with parameters via URL

    Hi,
    I would like to be able to list all spool requests of a certain title via a URL.
    Unfortunately ITS does not seem to work. A URL constructed like this
    http://host:port/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/webgui/!?sap-system-login-basic_auth=X&sap-client=500&sap-language=EN&transaction=SP01&S_RQTITL-LOW=Testing123&okcode=CRET
    causes a short dump that SP01 (Program RSOSP01NR) is a Module Pool.
    I am therefore considering the following options:
    1. BSP Program
    2. Java WebDynpro
    3. ABAP WebDynpro
    Ideally, I want to be able to enter in my browser something like
    http://host:port/<BSP_or_WebDynPro_stuff>&~title=Testing123
    and for this to show in the browser a list of all spool requests that are named "Testing123".
    Can someone advise whether any of the above options are preferable?
    Also, whether such a program should call transaction SP01 with parameters (skipping first screen) or look to using the associated function modules.
    Many thanks for any assistance.

  • Call Bex Workbook with parameters via ABAP

    Dear all,
    I have a problem with Excel workbook run from the functional module and transfer parameters to it.
    For this purposes I have used FM RSAH_LAUNCH_EXCEL. I use SAP BW 2004s version.
    In fact this FM opens the Excel workbook but these parameters (that were defined in the table I_T_VAR) are not available in Excel. The window with variables pops up anyway and fields in this window are empty.
    What I would like to do finally is to run this Excel workbook, send some parameters to avoid of appearing this window. It was possible to do in Sap BW 3.5 (according to my experience). Probably it is possible to do in some other way in 2004s? If you know please give me a clue.
    One more question: I try to use the function SAPBEXsetVariable() in BeX that I used to use in 3.5. In 2004s it is not available. Does somebody know what can be used instead of it in 2004s?
    Thanks in advance.

    How about putting values of variables into filter area of WB?

  • Call Plugin-Function with parameters via JavaScript

    Hi!
    I have following problem: I wrote a plugin for Illustrator CS2 in C++ and now I would like to call a function of the plugin from outside of illustrator (from a JavaScript).
    This can be done with the Actionsuite. But how could I then give some parameters to my function?
    For example:
    In the plugin, I have a function "void myFun(char * test)" and I want to call this function in JavaScript with test="Hello World" for example.
    The only possible way right now seems to write parameters into a file and open that file in the plugin to "receive" them.

    Hi,
    Could you send your plugin coding.

  • Parameters via POST using WebDynpro ?

    Hi all,
    I need to pass parameters between two web dynpro applications of length bigger than the limit that HTTP GET method allows.
    I'm thinking to use HTTP POST method or HTTP Session to share data.
    Anybody knows if web dynpro provides a way to handle this?
    Thanks in advance,
    Diego.

    Hello Diego,
    From where are you getting startup parameters initialy? Or are they hardcoded?
    More information about "transient attributes" https://media.sdn.sap.com/javadocs/NW04/SP9/ume/com/sap/security/api/IUser.html (methods getTransientAttribute and setTransientAttribute). The main feature of transient attributes is non-persistance. They are not stored.

  • Passing Parameters via OpenDocument URL to OLAP Analysis .amw

    Hello together,
    did anyone ever manage to successfully create an OpenDocument URL which passes parameters to an existing analysis workspace .amw?
    We already linked to other .crp and BEx reports, but maybe .amw needs some special syntax..
    I appreciate every hint
    Thanks
    CR Enterprise 4.0 SP2 in usage

    Hi,
    I can confirm: The situation for A-OLAP is the same as it was for Voyager.
    Analysis, like voyager, supports outbound opendoc params (ie pass context to WebI/CR) but not inbound params. The only exception is that you can specify which Voyager workspace to open.
    Voyager/analysis supports SAP connection parameters on opendoc, but this is a manual selection in prompts. You cannot programmatically set connection variables.
    Today we also support "Jumplinks"... a feature in both Voyager and A-OLAP that allows contextual information to be passed to a pre-defined Crystal Report.
    For BI4.1 (end 2012) SAP plans to make A-OLAP more open. This includes supporting SAP's Report-Report-Interface (RRI) and extending the OpenDocument parameters beyond just the workspace name that is supported today.

    H

  • Calling a function and passing parameters via Variables

    I've got an XML file that is loading in data and is calling functions.
    I've figured out how to call the methods from classes with variables set from the XML file:
    var functionToCall:String = xml.functions.func[0].to_fire.toString();
    myClass[functionToCall]();
    This calls the function perfectly.
    I was wondering if there is anyway to pass parameters into the function as well through variables.  Some functions may have no parameters, some functions could have 5... so the xml could be like this:
    <functions>
       <func>
        <to_fire>function1</to_fire>
        <param>
         <value>true</value>
         <type>Boolean</type> <!-- Must be set to Boolean, String or Number -->
        </param>
       </func>
       <func>
        <to_fire>function2</to_fire>
        <param/>
       </func>
       <func>
        <to_fire>function3</to_fire>
        <param>
         <value>false</value>
         <type>Boolean</type> <!-- Must be set to Boolean, String or Number -->
        </param>
        <param>
         <value>My String Value</value>
         <type>String</type> <!-- Must be set to Boolean, String or Number -->
        </param>
        <param>
         <value>10</value>
         <type>Number</type> <!-- Must be set to Boolean, String or Number -->
        </param>
       </func>
    </functions>
    whats the best way to set something like this up?

    how would I set something like that up?
    in the class:
    public function myFunction(_param1:String, _param2:Number):void {
    then to call it, would ParamTypes be cast as an array or object or something?
    var functionVariable:String = "myFunction";
    myClass[functionVariable](??);
    Or do I structure the XML file in some way to pass in the information?
