Parametric reports and report server

hi,
how can I invoke parametric reports on report server.
parameter form is not visible while invoking the report, hence
giving errors.
if any one can help

use paramform=html when you invoke reports from web. Report
server creates html page for you based on parameter form defined
at design time.

Reporting and analysis Server Issue

I have Installed OEPM 11.1.2 and configured everything and all of them were successfully configured except for Reporting and analysis where it failed to deploy to the application server. What could be the issue. I couldn't log in to workspace as it says the reporting and analysis server is not up and running at port 6800.
When I validated the setup it advises me to start the web analysis application and run the configuration again but there is no specific Web Analysis service in listed in the services window. Whatever the services are listed I've started and ran the configuration again but no success. Am i forgetting something?
Please help me with this guys. Thank You.

Hi Junaid,
OS is OK!
It seems some services not configured correctly; I can just comment if possible then you can stop all hyperion services and reconfigure most of the time it resolve issues related to Configuration.

Reporting and Analysis server down need to move to another server

I lost my original server for RA and re-installed the components on another server, however, when I try to access from workspace, I receive the message *"Could not find a Hyperion Reporting and analysis server running on "old server name' at port 6800. Please veriify your server connect string and confirm the server is set up".*
I've re-run the installer and configuration to no avail. Is there a configuration file that I have to update someplace?

This basically means that the HSS registry is still pointing to the old server name for RA_FRAMEWORK component.You will have to check through the registry report whether there are multiple instance of RA framework registered (one with the old server and another with the new server).If yes you can delete the old one from registry through the epmsys_registry command tool and reconfigure with the new server.
If you want assistance with the same,please raise an SR with Oracle support and should be able to guide you through.

PLEASE HELP! members deleted after refreshing, current report and report layout

Hi ,
First of all , before explain my issue, I read the note about March Microsoft update, and my symptoms aren't exactly similar but almost the same.
And it appeared last week, so one month after the ms update.
So, I opened my report, and I see that current report and report layout are greyed out,
I try to refresh the report and some members in rows axis are deleted.
I'm only one to have this problem in my team.
Is there anybody able to solve my issue please ?

First of all, sorry to reply long a time after you answer but I was so very busy with another things.
In fact, It's was a mistake, It's sure that it's not about an update. My issue comes only when I save my report in a different server, When I'm in the source server, I select the target server with "Select Another Connection" process And I save my report in the target server.
After that, lot of members are dissapeared in my row axis.
I don't know why.

Difference between Asset Intelligence 09A report and reports in the Software Metering folder

Dear all,
I can not seem to grasp the difference between Asset Intelligence 09x reports and reports in the Software Metering folder. Do they extract conclusions based on the same data and which data are those? I also have come to notice that there are occasional dicrepancies
between them. Why would this be?

1. Software metering allows you to create a rule and meter application usage very granular, when it is started, how many times , how long it has been used e.t.c, Asset intellegence doesn't require you to create any rules it will only inventory start/stop
so you can get reports like "all computers that hasn't started a application in x days".
2.It depends on the license agreement for that application, but yes you can get how many has started a specific application within a timeframe.

Hi,
With the help of report painter you can create(design) your customised reports. The report painter does not require any ABAP coding, The functional consultants use this report painter tool to create the reports.
For example, In profitability analysis the report painter tool uses vastly where you can design your own report with the combination of characterstics (Customer wise, product wise, etc.) and value fields (Sales, Cost of goods sold, Gross profit, Net profit, etc.) to analyse the profitability..
Beside these reports, the ABAP reports require ABAP coding.

Crystal Reports and SQL Server 2000

Hi all,
I read the document "Troubleshooting Database Connectivity for Crystal Reports" and tried all SQL Server jdbc drivers (1.2, 2.0,2.0.1, 3) and I could not find a working driver with crystal reports at all.

Are there anybody who suggest me a jdbc driver for SQL server which also supports Crystal Reports?
The connection is ok, but the problem is I don't see tables and other staff under the connection...According to the document above, this means the driver does not support crystal reports...

Crystal Reports 11.8 (Comes with IBM RAD 7.5 IDE)

I gave up this issue since I learnt that Crystal Java Reporting Component does not support portlet. I also tried with SQL 2008 and I also updated my IDE for updating Crystal plug-in in it. It was finally working at portal but the pager buttons and other staff in the viewer were not working since it still does not support portlet.

Creating OLAP report with Crystal Reports and SQL Server Analysis Services 2005

I am currently using the trial version of the Crystal Reports XI and I wanted to do an OLAP report. The problem is I cannot select a cube using "OLAP Connection Browser" (the popup window). I already selected Microsoft OLE DB Provider and entered the server name but still can't connect.
I don't think the problem is with SQL Server Analysis Services (2005) since Microsoft Excel - Import Data can detect the server as well as the cube I have created.
I also tried the "Database Expert" of Crystal Reports, created an OLE DB (ADO) connection with "OLE DB Provider for OLAP Services 8.0" driver, entered the server name, checked the integrated security and then I can readily select the database created at SQL Server Analysis Services. However, I still need the OLAP grid create the report but it goes back to my original problem... selecting a cube.
I hope somebody would help me with this issue.

Hello,
I don't recognize those variables as CR ones so it's likely something the original developer is setting in code.
You'll have to discuss with that person.
If your have SDK issues then post your question to one of the .NET or Java SDK forums.

Crystal Reports and Windows Server 2003 R2

Having huge issues with Crystal Reports for Visual Studio .NET 2010 Beta 2. I downloaded both the runtime and software as provided and restarted the pc. No matter what I do, I can not use it
I get these errors in my IDE:

First at all, I think that you created this thread in the wrong SDN forum; I'd rather search whether under the [Business Intelligence (including SAP BusinessObjects and SAP Crystal Solutions)|http://forums.sdn.sap.com/index.jspa?categoryID=1#45] or the [Business Intelligence SDK Application Development (SAP BusinessObjects and SAP Crystal Solutions)|http://forums.sdn.sap.com/index.jspa?categoryID=1#46] categories and, if nothing found, create a new thread on the category that better fits your question.
Let me also warn you that Windows Server 2008 R2 is a completely different operating system from Windows Server 2008, and it is not generally released for SAP NetWeaver; check [SAP note 1383873|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1383873] ("Windows Server 2008 R2 Support"). I don't know if it is supported for Crystal Reports specifically; please check it.
However, and just to provide you some Windows tricks to trace bad or lacking modules (.exe, .dll, .ocx, .sys, etc.), you can generally use the free tool "Dependency Walker". Can Some One Tell me what Hyperion Reporting Analysis Server Is? How do we get this Installed at Port 6800 and what is the name of the executable.
I can't login into Workspace or Reporting Studio becuase of this server?

Reporting and Report tools for CCM

Can anyone point me in the right direction or give me some suggestions on reporting in CCM. To be a little more specific; for example if a few users complain they are tryin to make outbound calls, and getting a busy signal, is there any reporting tool that I can use to pinpoint the problem or eventually be able to say, hey we need another phone line, etc...
Also. User calls can complains that the calls they are making lack in quality, how do I report on this or research?

In order to determine if there are any records in the Structured Query Language (SQL) database, complete these steps:
Choose Start > Programs > SQL > Enterprise Manager > Microsoft SQL Servers > SQL Server Group.
Choose Publisher Server > Databases.
Choose CDR > Tables. Right-click the CallDetailRecord table.
Choose Open Table > Return All Rows. Determine if there are any records.
If many records appear, complete this procedure to remove records from ART:
Choose Programs > SQL Server > Query Analyzer. Log in and choose ART database.
Run these queries:
delete from Tbl_Load_History
delete from Tbl_Dump_PkID
delete from Tbl_Error_Id_Map
delete from Tbl_Billing_Data
delete from Tbl_Billing_Error
delete from Tbl_Dump_CallDetailRecord

This forces ART to get all the old CDRs into ART in the next scheduled loading time. By default, CDR data is loaded every day from midnight to 5 a.m.
Restart the CDR Insert and DBL Monitor Services from CCM Administration > Application >Cisco CCM Serviceability >Tools > Control Center.
Refer to the How can I manually purge the ART database? section of CallManager Issue Resolution with CDR and ART FAQ for more information.
Note: Information deletes from the ART database but not from the CDR.
Note: If you do not see any records, there are no CDR entries for that time and date range. Determine if conditions are met for CDR generation. CDR records are generated in these circumstances:
The service parameters CdrEnabled and CallDiagnosticsEnabled are set to True.
The call is established and has a talk duration greater than 0.
The call fails and has a cause code that reflects the error.
In order to set the service parameters, choose Service > Service Parameters, and make sure that the service parameters CdrEnabled and CallDiagnosticsEnabled are set to True in all of the Cisco CallManager servers, both publisher and subscriber.

Collect information from an exprenal SQL DB and collect it into a SCOM Databag so we can collect the data, report and report on it.

The DB is collecting counts. We want to collect the counts into a bag, then once in the bag be able to report the counts (need to collect on an hourly basis)

you can use a timed powershell or vb script to connect to the db and run a sql command against it. The result must then be parsed and returned in the property bag.
As a starting point you should have a look at Pete Zerger's blog post

Just wrap around the creation of a property bag and replace the eventlog entry generation with returning the value.
Please keep in mind that you should always should return a property bag, even it is empty.

Character mode report and Report Width & Height

I need to print a report on a pre-printed pay slip which is 4" height x 9" width.
May i know what value should i set for these parameter?
Report Level: Unit of measurement: Inch
Report Level: Design in Character Units: Yes
Layout Model, Main Section: Width: 9, Height: 4
Layout Model, Character Mode: Report Width: 132, Report Height: 24
Apps SRW driver: width: 132, height: 24
If i need to print the character with 15cpi, is the value of 24 for the height (above) correct?
What should be the value to set for Ruler Settings, character cell size: horizontal & vertical?

In fact the ISO standard is 8.3" × 11.7". 8.5" x 11" is "Letter", which nobody uses any more.

BI content InfoCube missing for reporting and reports show'~' in with KFs

Hello friends,
I need help with the following two issue with the business content query that I have
installed in DEV system.
1. I have installed a BI content infocube and 5 standard
   queries with it, I am able to see and execute the query but some other
   users are not able to see the Infocube listed under Infoarea. The same
   users were able to see the Infocube if they tried creating a new query.
2. When I execute the same installed standard BI content query all the key figures values in columns are shown with a '~' symbol before and after it.
   example: $ 198.63 and -$ 0.02
   How do I over come this ? and what might be the reason ? Please suggest.

Hi Sonu,
In Tcode SU01 check roles and profiles for your users.
Then in PFCG check the authorizations for that specific roles you have found in SU01.
Maybe your users have restrictions on query names: maybe they are authorized to execute only query starting with "Z" and BC query start with "0".
