Parametrize Reports automatically in Diadem Script

Hello first my Prolem:
I have a huge TDMS file with series of measurements.
I made several REPORT templates such as title, measurement set, overview and so on.
Now i wrote a script, which first loads a data file, then generates the title and after that it should generate a measurement set page for all measurements. For that i wrote a for loop over the amount of all channel groups so thats not the problem. But how can i force the system to put the right data into the template?
Second problem: How can i generate ONE pdf document of all generated pages?

I"m going to need to ask you for more information. Are you saying that you made several separate *.TDR files, one for the title, one for the measurement set, etc.? Are you then saying that you load each of these *.TDR files one after another-- with each *.TDR file replacing the previous one in REPORT?
What data do you want to force into the template correctly? Why can't you just reference the data you want to display in the template with standard Group/Channel strings and property names?
You have two choices on the PDF front. The first option is to continue to load portions of the REPORT from separate *.TDR files with PicLoad and use the DocStart and DocEnd commands to spool them all to the same PDF print process. The second option is to use PicFileAppend instead to load all the REPORT sheets into REPORT at once and use the regular PicPDFExport command to create the PDF file.

I am working with DIAdem 9.1 Advanced. I would like to create a report with a 2D graph object containing one curve (X,Y1) or (X,Y2). The user has to choose between (X,Y1) and (X,Y2) via a dialog box. I want to generate this report with a VBS script without loading a predefined TDR report.

Variable: ObjType
The terms 2D-curve and 3D-curve are valid keywords for new 2D-curves and 3D-curves and the enumeration terms of the ReportObjType variable for all other objects.
I attached some topic of the DIAdem 10 help that descibe some variables that correspond to this topic.
The following script create a 2d-Axis system an a new curve and defines the data for this curve

I am encountering a simple problem with DIAdem script: when automatically creating a report, I am not able to change the orientation of my report by script. Code is as follows:

Generate AWR Report automatically every day

Hi Friends,
I would like to generate AWR Report automatically every day. How do i do it.
The Start Time will be 00:00 of Previous day and the end Time will be : 00:00 of current day. The File format is html.
Currently i am using awrrpt.sql to generate report manually and i would like to achieve it automatically,I am not sure how to pass the values of start and end time (From which table i can get the values)?

You may use the below sql script , the sql script generates the AWR report for the duration of 2 days in HTML.
So you change
1) the where condition as per your requirement,
2) report name in sql script,
3) and convert it as shell or bat script based on your environment, and schedule it in your OS job scheduler / crontab.

Controlling dialog boxes in a DIAdem script from LabVIEW

I have a DIAdem script that prompts the user for the data file it will process. The datafile was created from a labview test routine. I can now run the script from LabVIEW using the "DIAdem Run Script.VI", but in the interest of automation, I would like to have LabVIEW place the filename in this dialog. I would like to keep the dialog in the script, since sometimes we run this script manually. (without LabVIEW)

Bill,
Which dialog are you using to prompt for the file name? It
appears that you cannot send any information to the script through the
Run Script.vi. However, you can call automation commands using
the "DIAdem Run Automation Command.vi". If you want to pass data
to the script, then you can set a Global Variable, or a DIAdem Script
Variable. As an example, you could use the global variable, T1,
and send "T1 := 'myfile'". When the script is executed, that
variable will be accessible within the script and it will be set to
"myfile". You could also set the FileDlgName variable to your
file name. Then it may be possible to send those variables to
your dialog so that they are automatically populated.

Wie Diadem Script im LabView am besten erstellen?

Guten morgen zusammen,
ich bearbeite im Moment ein Projekt, in dem Messdaten aus LV in Diadem Report umgewandelt werden, dazu übergebe ich die Messkanäle und ein Script. Das Script habe ich in einen großen String getippt, der Schlüsselworte wie "PFAD1" enthält, die dann mit "String suchen und ersetzen gegen die richtige Werte ausgetauscht werden. Dann wird dies in eine Script Datei gespeicher, die an Diadem übergeben wird.
Gibt es eine Möglichkeit dies "eleganter" zu lösen?
Ich fände es praktisch, wenn man Diadem Code so erzeugen könnte, wie mit dem "Formelknoten", dies wäre viel übersichtlicher.

Ja das wäre eine Lösung, aber ich kann es den Usern nicht zumuten sich selber mit Diadem-Script zu beschäftigen, die Möglichkeit mit den String Konstanten habe ich als erstes getestet, dies wird aber viel zu unübersichtlich.
Meine jetzige Lösung sieht so wie im Anhang aus.
Ein VB-Script/Diadem-Script - Knoten wäre eine sinnvolle Ergänzung, da man ja den Export eines Scriptes an Diadem anbietet, sollte man auch die programmatische "Konstruktion" des Scriptes ermöglichen.

Save settings for rainflow-analysis at DIAdem-Script

I wrote a script with DIAdem-Script. This script does a rainflow-analysis from a signal.
My problem is that I need 64 steps but the standard setting is 8 steps.
I program the rainflow-analysis with 64steps in DIAdem-Script and the script does is till I shut down DIAdem.
If I restart DIAdem and load the script with the 64step-rainflow-analysis, it makes only 8steps (the standard setting at my Diadem).
Now I want to know what I can do to solve these problem.
I want to have a script that makes a rainflow-analysis with 64steps at any time.

We should be able to get this to work as you desire it. These are the variables behind the class number dialog in the Rainflow calculation:

How to send Oracle AS report automatically by email

Dear Gurus,
I would like to generate a Oracle report automatically and send it by Email. so for that I am trying by using below command

But I am getting below error.
REP-0177: Error while running in remote server
Executed successfully but there were some errors when distribute the output.
But if i tried to generate the output as a file in local machine its working fine and below comand is generating report on local desk

Problem-Report generation using shell script

Hi
We have the Production database and the Reporting database (copy of Production database),
both on Oracle 9.2.0.5 and Solaris 5.8. There is a package inside the Oracle database, which extracts some data from inside the
database, and would generate a report. A shell script has been created in Solaris which would
send in the parameters and call the pakage to generate the report. The parameters it is sending is
the name of report to be generated, and the location where it is to be generated, both hard-coded into
the script. The script is scheduled to run through crontab.
The problem we are facing is that, if we run the script for Reporting database, it successfully
generates the report. But if we use that script for Production database, it gives the error
"Invalid directory Path". I have tried using various other directory paths, even '/tmp'
and '/', but it still gives the same error when executed for Production dataabse.
Could somebody provide any ideas what might be going wrong.
The reasons it is to be executed on Prod db and not the Reporting database are unavoidable.
It anyway runs in off business hours and takes about 10secs to execute.
Please do let me know if there is any other info that I missed to provide here.

I will be just guessing because you didn't provide contents of script and package.
The "Invalid directory path" as you said could be ORA-29280 due non existent directory.
Try execute (as sys or system) select * from dba_directories; (or select * from all_directories; as user which the script is login to) on both databases and compare the results. If there is missing your important directory then create it using create directory <dirname>; (from sqlplus and don't forget to grant rights for user).
This error could come from shell script. In that case you should find resolution yourself because you didn't provide script source.

First you should not include the whole path to your report in the call ...
Use like this:

In $ORACLE_HOME/bin/reports.sh:
1) Verify that you have updated the REPORTS_PATH variable to include your folder where you have the report in question
REPORTS_PATH=/ora/u20/app/qits/env1/run:$ORACLE_HOME/reports/templates:$ORACLE_HOME/reports/samples/demo: ....
2) Verify that the REPORTS_TMP variable is pointing to a valid location and that the oracle user has access to write on it.
After that, post the content of the tracefile located at $ORACLE_HOME/reports/logs/{in-process report server name folder}/rwserver.trc
If no file is present then it means that you need to enable trace in your reports's conf file.... go to the $ORACLE_HOME/reports/conf folder and and locate the .conf file that correspond to your in-process reports server name (as specified in the rwservelet.properties file)... open/edit the file to enable trace logs ..
i.e.
Change the following line:

to <trace traceOpts="trace_all"/>
Bounce the reports server and try to run the report again, this time the .trc file should be generated, post the content so that we can take a look.

Using variables in a calculation function in Diadem script

I'm new to working with Diadem Scripts. I have tried the two different ways below to make the values of a channel equal to the results of a formula containing created variables. I can do it if the formula contains values in place of the variables using the calculator method. I would appreciate any guidance on how to correct the syntax in the below scripts.

I think you need to use channel name strings of the format "Group Name/Channel Name" in your ChnCalculate function. I usually use a formula, a symbol array, and a value array to get this done:

How can I create a simple app that will automatically add folder script

Hi! I hope I can get a little help on this. I tried searching online and haven't found anything.
Is there away I can make a simple "application" that will automatically add a folder script to a users folder?
Basically I need a folder script to run but I don't want to explaint o a user how they'd have to do it in automator.
I'd like to be able to create an application they double click. The app tells them to select a folder then automatically runs the script.
Does anyone have any ideas of how'd I'd do this?

Oh I get it. Yeah I read you post on one of the other pages and didn't quite understand, but not that you say that your're makeing this for another user, it makes sence.
So what you want to do is have the computer automatically install a script on a customer's computer, right?
(I'm using "custumer" loosly; i.e. just another user)
If that's what you'd like to do, then you'll probably have to write an actual program in Xcode, since I imagine automiticlly installing folder action scrips will be highly discuraged by Apple because it would cause a huge security hole in the OS. (You wouldn't want some random person sending you a folder action installer disgused as a regular app LOL.)
But I will actually suggest the following, which I think will work great for your users:
Make a regular Automator app, and drag it to your Dock. Now, have the user click and drag a bunch of photos to the application icon, and it will run the app automatically on those files.
You could try a work flow like this:
ask the user Are you sure?
convert pictures
save pictures to ConvertedPics folder
pop up a confirmation message saying that everything was resized

Calling ABAP Subroutines: PERFORM
You can use the PERFORM command to call an ABAP subroutine (form) from any program, subject to the normal ABAP runtime authorization checking. You can use such calls to subroutines for carrying out calculations, for obtaining data from the database that is needed at display or print time, for formatting data, and so on.
PERFORM commands, like all control commands, are executed when a document is formatted for display or printing. Communication between a subroutine that you call and the document is by way of symbols whose values are set in the subroutine.
Syntax in a form window:
