Paramter visibility in Report Output

Hello All,
I am having a requirement to "Print Parameters in a output(pdf,xls,csv) of a report", which i am providing to my query for fetching a data.
Is this possible, yes then how?

If you've tried it, then probably not; I'm lucky enough to have BI Publisher.
An alternative approach would be to UNION it into your query. E.g.
SELECT

empYou can play around with this to get the layout you want. If you don't want the page item to appear in the main report on your Apex page, then you can have two reports on the page, one without the page item which displays as a standard report and the other report with the page item that only displays as a CSV link. To get a report to display only as a link, create a report template that only has a CSV link in it.

Hierarchy in properties of characteristics item is not visible in report

Hi,
It has been observed that the Hierarchy name in u201Cproperties of characteristics" of an infoobject for example 0GL_ACCOUNT is not visible in BEx output report. The report shows complete hierarchy with all nodes / subnodes but NOT HEADER description!
Also whenever you change the hierarchy (by changing global / local view), Same problem exist.
This is one of the high priority problem users are facing since they canu2019t see hierarchy name (Key / Text) causing confusion.
Please advice.

URGENT HELP:Reports Output in RTF Format

Hi,
I have a problem with Oracle Reports 3.0
I am generating a report output to a RTF file.
The report is output in landscape orientation in Reports Runtime
window.
But when I open the RTF document, the output is in
Portrait orientation and some of the information is getting out
of the view. If I manually change the orientation in the RTF
Page Setup, I am able to view the output properly.
Can this be automated by using some property/setup in Oracle
Reports 3.0?
Also, the BMPs are not visible in the RTF file.
Can anyone help me on these issues?

I dont think there is any help in HTMLDB for this. There is this technical note: http://www.oracle.com/technology/pub/notes/technote_htmldb_fop.html I dont really like this approach.
You should consider using XML Publisher. Its a new Oracle product that is easy to use and really works! Actually its an Oracle Application product that is now standalone. Its much faster to use than making the xslt manually. You can make the templates in Word. We have a project where we dont make any templates. The customers make their own on each site.
There of cause is a licensing issue. Depending on you setup it can be expensive.

We have a requirement to download the output of a classical report into a Excel sheet and it should be in the same format as the report output.We don't just want to dump the internal table data into excel but need to display the classical report outputas it is in the excel sheet.

Discoverer report - Output from Discoverer plus is not the same as Discoverer desktop

As a part of Upgrade project we are migrating the discoverer reports from 11i (11.5.10.2) to R12 (12.1.3) .After migrating to R12, for a custom discoverer report the output given by discoverer desktop is correct (24 rows for a scenario). But the report output from Discoverer plus does not show the credit transactions (2 rows). The output from Discoverer plus shows only 22 rows (24 - 2), which is incorrect. The query is the same in Discoverer desktop and Discoverer plus.
Please let me know why these transactions that are appearing when the report is run from discoverer desktop are not appearing in discoverer plus. Is there any setup in discoverer plus for this?

Pretty hard to answer a question like this. Best bet would be to copy the existing discoverer plus book and start removing conditions, fields, etc until those two rows from desktop show up and see if you can work it out.

Change order of key figure is not working in Web report output (using WAD)

Hi,
We are using BI 7.0, release 701 and level 008. We are facing problem in WAD (web report output). When ever we do 'Select filter' for key figures and 'change the order' of key figures, it does not get reflected in new order. Though drag and drop of key figures is working.
Though same change order is working fine in Bex Analyser.
Kindly suggest some inputs.

How To Restrict Number Of Rows For Multiple Group In Report Output

I have a requirement to restrict number of rows in report output.I have three different group , if i use same no of rows to restrict then output is as expected but if i want Deduction group should have 7 rows , earning should have 5 rows and Tax group have 3 rows in report output then XML tag is not working.

variable lpp2 is declare to restrict EarTaxLines -
<xsl:variable name="lpp2" select="number(2)"/>
This will help to restrict the no of rows on one page , if we have more then two tax benefits line then layout will roll over to continuation page.
As part of report output my expectation is if i restrict Earning , Deduction and Tax benefits to same no of line for example - variable lpp ,lpp1 and lpp2 have same value "number(2)" , we can see the layout is continue on next page (restrict every group can have max two lines) .This is the reason we have 4 header grid , deduction and Tax Benefit lines are rolled over to continuation page .But if we restrict different value for each variable then continuation page layout is missing .
When we tried for <xsl:variable name="lpp2" select="number(3)"/> value continuation page layout is not getting generate for both employee number .

Intermittent Blank Rows coming in BI Publisher Report output

Hi,
We are working on a BI Publisher report output.
Issue
The report sometimes creates a blank row along with the headings of the report columns. Table has multiple records and between 2 records we have a data being displayed which is optional. When this record is null, it is creating an extra space and hence creating a new page with the headers and a blank row.
Reducing the space is one issue we have thought of. Are there any other pointers to this.

I did not got the complete thing but as you told you need to remove the blank space in the report and at the same you told when a column returns null the row get displayed as blank row.
Then can you try using the Conditional region so that when ever you find the column value as null so you can hide that row.
Just try it i donot no if your requirement is exactly like this or what.

Send Vendor Balance confirmations report output (F.18) to External email ID

Dear Friends.
I have following requirement
Our Client requirement is to send Vendor Balance confirmations report output (Tcode F.18) to external email ID of vendor.
So please guide accordingly.
I have done BASIS Settings for SMTP (Tcode SCOT, RZ10) and Through SAP office using BASIS consultant and i can able to send sample test mail to external email ID through SAP Office (tcode SO00)
I will be thankful if anyone gives me exact solution.

Hi,
You can craete Background Job and send Mail.
e.g.
Goto->SM36->JOBWIZARD ( Create the Job and specify the Spool List Recipients ).
After Creating the job.
Again SM36->Start Condition ( You can create here when to send the mail ).
And Release it.
Be sure that your BASIS guy has done the required settings for Outgoing Mail.
Please check in SCOT.

Not able to save report output in a text file and RTF file

I am using Oracle Developer6.0 . I am facing problem with reports. I am invoking reports from form using run_product.
1. I could not able to save the report in text file . Whenever i try to save the report output in a text file.It gives dump and application get closed.
2. In RTF format , it execute the query which i have given at the design time while creating a report . But while running i am passing query either through lexical parameter or passing value of where criteria user parameters. It display the output for the specified value. But when i save this report output in rtf file . It execute design time query and save that in a rtf file.
If any body is having any idea about it . Please let me ASAP . It is very urgent for me.

Try the following:
Do not generate the report to .rep file, but rename/copy the .rdf file to .rep file and execute it.

PAYABLES NOT GETTING THE REPORT OUTPUT IN PDF AFTER APPLYING RUP5 R12

Problem Description:
We are presently facing an issue in Payables not getting the report output in PDF esp for the reports "Invoice Register", Invoice Hold Report and also other reports. We were able to generate the reports till our last test performed on last Thursday. This instance was cloned over the last weekend and probably the new upgrade to RUP5 R12,would have impacted it.
Concurrent Programs submitted are completed normal but on clicking "view output" results in Blank PDF output.
The error message what was shown is as below:
"Adobe Reader could not open 'AcrC.tmp' because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded)".
Where could we locate ther above 'AcrC.tmp' of Adobe Reader..
could anyone please share such an experience encountered for resolution..

I suggest you speak to your DBA/sysadmin. This is not likely to be a reports problem.
Check that you can see the output from apps through the viewer (the report may not hav output anything)
Check whether you can print anything on that printer from apps.
May also be worth checking to see if you can print to another printer from this report.

<u>Background</u>
Monash University environment is SAP ERP ECC6 - no BW. The University has undertaken considerable analysis of spend as part of developing a strategic approach to procurement. The data used to undertake this analysis was extracted from SAP MM and FI using a developed ABAP report which collates, categorizes and consolidates all spend information from MM (for our Purchase Order based commitment and expenditure) and FI (for direct invoices and Corporate Credit Card expenditure). This information is then currently exported to MS-Excel to produce a report containing graphs, pie charts etc.
<u>Requirement</u>
To present output from our Spend Analysis Report in a more readable dashboard type presentation. This facility should allow easy manipulation (slice and dice) and drill down of the data.. Our requirement is to have something operating within a very short time-frame, say within a month or two. Although you might suggest Web Dynpro Business Graphic or SEM /BW (as the optimal solution) we understand the set up time for either of these solutions is prohibitive. Visual Composer has been suggested as another option but we have no in-house expertise to determine if this is a viable solution.
