Parent Child Relationship and Child Search Criteria

Hi,
My question relates to the DB Adapter used in BPEL.
I posted the same question on BPEL forum but NOONE answerd me.
I post this also to the TopLink forum because although i am using DB adapter, i chosed to query a database using TopLink Select Query.
I have a two tables, TABLE_A (table_a_id, column_a) and TABLE_B(table_b_id, table_a_id, column_b, status). TABLE_B has a foreign key to TABLE_A.
I created a synchronous BPEL process and created a DB adapter. I imported the two tables, i selected TABLE_A as my root database table and in the 'Define Selection Criteria', i specified a TopLink expression, to get only data when TABLE_B has status of value 1.
Hoever, the expression seems to not work. I gets ALL data from TABLE_B, even with status of value of other than 1.
Please help me as i am stuck.
Thank you

Hi,
The reason we have a foreign relation is that the field should be preenet in some other table and it should be a Pkey in that table.
why do you want to have a child with out a parent key, if it is that way why do you want that relation.
Do you want to create the foreign key relation or is it already there.
thanks

    Before updating to 4.0 I could do library searches and my previous searched criteria was saved as was my library card number. Now these items are no longer being saved.

  • Spotlight and Find search criteria is missing

    When I try to do a "find" from the finder or "show search criteria" when using spotlight most of the search criteria is missing. Nothing is listed under "other". A minimal amount of options are available is I choose "date" or "kind".
    Where is the list of search criteria stored and how can I get it back into the find feature?

    Most like a component of the Spotlight.app which resides in /System/FInder/CoreServices/. Where? I don't know. Maybe the simplest thing to do is retrieve it from your Time Machine backup or bootable backup/clone. Barring that, download Pacifist and extract it from your install disk and replace the faulty one. Once, you've done that and solved the problem, reinstall the latest COMBO update.

  • SRM-MDM Dynamic catalog call structure and implicit search criteria

    Hi experts,
    We need to define the catalog call criteria for the SRM-MDM.
    Our client requires content visualitzation restrictions but there is not any logic indentified to determine the records that must be viewed for every user.
    Now, in their Non-SAP catalog, they are using users lists to which they assign the catalog records.
    There are more than 150 users lists and is posible too to assign some catalog records to only 1 or 2 users, by user id.
    We want to reproduce this scenario in SRM-MDM.
    We are analysing two alternatives:
    First alternative: badi BBP_CAT_CALL_ENRICH implementation for mask dynamic determination and custom z.
    We've though in creating one mask for every user list.
    Then, in SRM create a custom table with the userid and the user list id (mask equivalent). A user can belong to more than one user list.
    Finally implement the BBP_CAT_CALL_ENRICH, searching in the z table the users id and obtaining the specific masks for this users and pass these masks as catalog call parameters dynamicly.
    Is posible to use the BBP_CAT_CALL_ENRICH badi to pass dynamic parameters?
    (in this case, maybe we could use a new org.est. attibute to assign user id and mask, instead of the custom table).
    Second aternative: implicit search criteria based on a new org. est. atribute for mask
    Is posible to create new implicit search criteria for org. est. atributes?
    We could assign to every user the masks in the org. est. and then, create a new parameter which could look for the mask value in the org.est.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi Silvia,
    I am not sure of the answer to the second part of the query but as for the usage of the BBP_CAT_CALL_ENRICH catalog in combination with various masks for the users to access catalog subsets, this should work quite well, best to try it out in a DEV environment and see how it goes.

  • Question about File Content Conversion and parent-child relationships...

    Hello!
         I have read probably every blog, article and SAP Help document on the topic, but I am stuck on this one.  I am trying to convert a General Ledger flat file to an IDoc using the classic file --> IDoc scenario.  The setup is done and working, but the IDocs are formatted incorrectly and I believe at least part of the reason is how I am converting the file content.
    The root of my problem is that the flat file has a parent-child relationship between the document header and the document item and I want to maintain that since the IDoc type (FIDCCP01) has the same structure in the BKPF and BSEG segments.
    Here is the flat (non-XML) file layout that is coming into the file adapter:
    FileHeader
    DocumentHeader
    DocumentItem
    DocumentHeader
    DocumentItem
    and so on (until the number of documents is complete
    I would really like the content to be converted so that the line items stay under their parent document headers like this:
    <FileHeader></FileHeader>
    <DocumentHeader>
       <ItemHeader>
       </ItemHeader>
    </DocumentHeader>
    <DocumentHeader>
       <ItemHeader>
      </ItemHeader>
    </DocumentHeader>
    But I keep getting this, where it lists the document headers first (one after another), and then all of the line items after the document headers like this:
    <FileHeader></FileHeader>
    <DocumentHeader></DocumentHeader>
    <DocumentHeader></DocumentHeader>
    <DocumentHeader></DocumentHeader>
    <ItemHeader></ItemHeader>
    Is is possible to maintain that parent-child relationship from the flat file and pass it over to the XML?
    Thanks,
    John

  • Work Order and parent/child relationship

    I have been looking into the vision instance. There is an Asset-Rebuildable relationship, that is Forklif and it's battery. If there is a work order on the forklik "replace battery" can this be done automatically, or is this all manual.
    1. When I pick the new battery from stores the S/N of the battery is associated with the forklif (automatic I tested this)
    2. When I say "remove the old battery" should't the old battery parent/child relationship between the parent be broken and a child work order "charge" for the battery be logged. I could not reproduce that, but queried that this is what happens in vision. Are all these supposed to be manual?
    Regards

    From this plan, we can't easily get the parent child relationship like autotrace. Is there a way to get like autotrace?

  • Multi level parent child relationship and datacontrol

    I have an existing application with multi-level parent child tables. For example three of the tables in the applications are related as Table 1 ( parent of Table 2) ---> Table 2 ( parent of Table 3 ) --> Table 3. When i create ADF Business components using these tables i see only the nesting between the parent and its immediate child tables. How can i create a nested data control for Table 3 to Table 2 to Table 1?. We have a usecase where we need to access data from the child table to parent to parent in the reverse order. Currently there is no direct relationship defined between Table 1 and Table 3.
    Any thoughts?
    thanks

    Hi,
    double click the Application Module to open the AM editor. Select the data Model category. On the right hand side you see what is selected for use in an application, on the left hand side is what you have available as View Object. To create T1-->T2-->T3, you
    - Select T1 and move it to the right
    - Select T2 under T1 on the left and move it to the right under T1
    - Select T3 under T2 on the left and move it under T2 in T1 on the right

  • EJB 3, OneToMany that Acts As Tree, or Parent Child relationship support?

    (Sorry for the RoR reference)
    I first searched the forum and found this post that came close, but not exactly what I'm needing since my table doesn't reference the PK:
    http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?forumID=13&threadID=767913
    I have a table called Folder that represents a folder hierarchy. It has a 'Path' field and a 'Parent' field, and of course 'ID'. Each Folder knows its parent by the 'Parent' field, which references 'Path', not* 'ID'. Both are Strings.
    To find all the children of a Folder, the sql for a PreparedStatment might look something like this (shared for clarity of the situation):
    SELECT * FROM Folder
    WHERE Parent = ?Question:
    What are the proper annotations in EJB 3 / JPA to allow this kind non-primary key parent/child relationship mapping?
    Can I specify a named query that handles the logic and then reference it in the OneToMany annotation? Other cool tricks?
    Here is what I am trying (no runtime errors, but no results either). (Example simplified)
    @Entity
    @Table(name = "Folder")
    @NamedQueries(value = {@NamedQuery(.......)})
    public class Folder implements Serializable {
        @Id
        @Column(name = "ID", nullable = false, updatable = false)
        private Integer folderID;
        @Column(name = "Path", nullable = false)
        private String path;
        @Column(name = "Parent")
        private String parent;
        // v Here's the kicker v
        @OneToMany(cascade={CascadeType.ALL}, fetch=FetchType.EAGER)
        @JoinTable(name="Folder",
            joinColumns={@JoinColumn(name="Parent")},
            inverseJoinColumns={@JoinColumn(name="Path")})
        private List<Folder> children;
        // getters and setters ....
    }Thanks!

    It looks like the relationship is bi-directional.
    Will this work...
    // Parent.java
    @Entity
    public class Parent implements java.io.Serializable {
    @Id
    public Long parentId;
    @OneToMany(cascade=CascadeType.PERSIST,mappedBy="parent")
    public Collection<Child> children;
    // Child.java
    @Entity
    public class Child implements java.io.Serializable {
    @Id
    public Long childId;
    @ManyToOne
    public Parent parent;  // target of mappedBy
    }Then, in your code (a session facade?), you'll create the parent first, create the children, then add the children to the parent. Your code is also responsible for maintaining the reference back to the parent.
    Parent p = new Parent();
    for(int i=0; i<10; i++) {
      Child c = new Child();
      p.children.add(c);
      c.parent = p;
    em.persist(p);

  • Help needed in retrieving parent child relationship values

    Hi,
    I have a requirement to get parent child relationship values as below.
    Ex: Address table
    cont cont_code state state_code
    C1 10 S1 1
    C1 10 S2 2
    C1 10 S3 3
    C2 20 S4 4
    C2 20 S5 5
    C3 30 S6 6
    C3 30 S7 7
    C3 30 S8 8
    I want a result of country/state and corresponding code like below.
    corresponding states should be displayed under each country with some space appended to it.
    Geography code
    C1 10
    S1 1
    S2 2
    S3 3
    C2 20
    S4 4
    S5 5
    C3 30
    S6 6
    S7 7
    S8 8
    I am using oracle 10g version.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    When you post formatted text (like your output) on this site, type these 6 characters:
    \(small letters only, inside curly brackets) before and after each section of formatted text, to preserve spacing.
    I think you're saying that you want this output:GEOGRAPHY CODE
    C1 10
    S1 1
    S2 2
    S3 3
    C2 20
    S4 4
    S5 5
    C3 30
    S6 6
    S7 7
    S8 8
    If so, UNION, as Hoek suggested, is a good way.
    GROUP BY ROLLUP is more efficient, but harder to understand:SELECT     CASE
              WHEN GROUPING (state) = 1
              THEN cont
              ELSE ' ' || state
         END          AS geography
    ,      CASE
              WHEN GROUPING (state) = 1
              THEN MAX (cont_code)
              ELSE MAX (state_code)
         END          AS code
    FROM     t
    GROUP BY cont
    ,      ROLLUP (state)
    ORDER BY cont
    ,      state          NULLS FIRST
    By the way, this looks like a bad table design.
    In a relational database, the fact that the name 'C1' belongs to cont_code 10 should only be stored in one place.  You have the same information on 3 separate rows.
    Also, if 'C1' and 'S1' are both names, they should probably be in the same column, so that (to give just one example) you can find the information about 'x1' without knowing if it is a cont or a state.
    A better design would be.NAME     CODE     PARENT     DSCR
    ====     ====     ======     ====
    C1     10          CONT
    S1     1     10     STATE
    S2     2     10     STATE
    S3     3     10     STATE
    C2     20          CONT
    S4     4     20     STATE
    S5     5     20     STATE
    C3     30          CONT
    S6     6     30     STATE
    S7     7     30     STATE
    S8     8     30     STATE
    If the data is this simple, then the dscr column isn't needed.  Whether parent is NULL or not tells whether the rows represents a cont or a state.
    To get the results you want from a table like this, you could use CONNECT BY.  Using either UNION or ROLLUP, you have to know, at the time you write the query, how many levels there will be in the parent-child tree, and the length of the code is proportional to that depth, and the table has to be changed if you ever need to add another level.  CONNECT BY can handle any number of levels, and the length and complexity of the code is the same whether you have just 2 levels (countries and strates), or 7 levels (continents, regions, countiries, states, districts, cities and neighborhoods) or 72 levels.  The table doesn't need any more columns, no matter how deep the tree gets.

  • Simulate 1-N relationship as N-N by using Parent-Child structure

    Hi,
    i have a 1-N relationship between SKILL and USER tables meaning 1 skill can be applied to several users. A skill can have a parent skill meaning that a ParentSkill inherits all privileges of it's child.
    I would like to simulate a N-N relationship between users and skills by building a view which goes through the parent-child relationship... Can this be accomplished by building a view?
    Current structure:
    |USERID | USERNAME | SKILLID  |
    +-------+----------+----------+
    |   1   |  Jack    |      1   |
    |   2   |  Simon   |      1   |
    |   3   |  Fred    |      3   |
    +-------+----------+----------+
    |SKILLID | DESCRIPTION   | PARENTSKILL  |
    +--------+---------------+--------------+
    |   1    |  Mechanic     |      2       |
    |   2    |  Inspector    |      3       |
    |   3    |  Supervisor   |      null    |
    +--------+---------------+--------------+Preferred output (ordering of skillid is not important):
    |USERID | USERNAME | SKILLID  |

    |   1   |  Jack    |      1   |
    |   2   |  Simon   |      1   |

    Probably something like below. This may not be exactly what you are looking for, but one way to get what you are asking for.
    Only if you can give specifics, of your Input being passed and the Output, it might be possible to provide more help. But you also need to help us with your best effort on this.

  • Parent child relationship is not displaying for IDOC_OUTPUT_ORDERS (PO)

    Hi,
    Can somebody help me the reason why parent child relationship not displaying properly for ORDER05 basic type?
    If we go in details about the problem, a purchase order is creating in R/3 through EBP. To modify my requirement I am using userexit EXIT_SAPLEINM_002. Here I am appending the records in the segment for E1EDKT1 and E1EDKT2. IDOC is creating with an error of status record 26.
    When I check in the transaction WE19 for the respective IDOC the data is showing correctly for all the segments including e1edkt1 and e1edkt2 segments and also I check in the table EDID4 segment number is showing correctly and the for the segment E1EDKT2 PGNUM also showing correctly, but when I see the IDOC in the transactions WE02 unable to see parent child relationship between E1EDKT1 and E1EDKT2 segment. Simply the data is displaying one below other like other segment.
    I don't know the reason why it is displaying like that?
    If anybody is having the solution is highly appreciable.
    Regards,
    Noorul

    hi hassan,
    When you are appendng the REcods which belong to the purticular segment..
    all the segment needs to be appended in in the proper order as in the WE30..
    I<b> think you are appending the segment E1EDKT2 at the end of the EDIDD.. or IDOC_DATA in the user exit..</b> .. eventho no eerror will be displayed but idoc will generted with sataus 26 .. if check the <b>STATUIs Recored u ewill find the SYNTaX ERROR.</b>
    <b>Sollution for ur probelm is</b>... don append the E1EDKT2 at the lastr instead <b>you ahve to insert the segment E1EDKT2. only afer E1EDKT1..</b>..
    Tehn you r problem will be solved.. I had faced the Same proble when i worked on material maser idoc..
    <b>Close this thread if when u r problem ise solved</b>
    Reward if helpful

  • Parent-Child Relationships in Essbase Studio

    In Essbase Studio, I am defining a hierarchy in which a parent member (Wholesaler) is from one dimension table and child member (Rep) is from another. When I preview this hierarchy or build an outline to include it, a few of the Reps that should rollup to a certain Wholesaler are missing. They are not dropped, but Essbase Studio just never recognizes these Reps as being children of that Wholesaler in the first place. However, if I run a sql query against the source data mart with the correct joins, these missing reps do show up in the records of that Wholesaler. Also, the missing Reps are showing up fine in the hierarchy preview as long as I don't make them children of anything in the Wholesaler dim. So Essbase Studio is able to see these Reps, but just can't figure out how they are related to the given Wholesaler. Again, this is only happening for about 10% of the Reps for the Wholesaler. Other Reps are showing up fine in the parent-child relationship.
    In the source data mart, I don't see any NULLs or anything amiss in the records for the missing Reps. What other reasons would Essbase Studio not recognize a particular joined record?

    it really does sound like a join issue. You say if you just load the children without the parent, they load, but if you associte them to the parent, they don't. You might try when creating the joins to do a full outter join to see if they load and to what.
    One other thing you could try would be to create a user defined table that has the join in it. I've found data atype issues in joins from different tables before. Studio is very pickey about this

  • How to output the outline parent-child relationship using a report script?

    I'd like to extract the outline's dimension members with it's parent-child relationship using a report script. Anybody can provide a sample script? Thanks.
    Example:
    DimensionX
    -----MemberX
    ----------ChildX
    Output:
    Dimension X MemberX
    MemberX ChildX

    Sorry a report script won't do it. You have two options
    1. Use at Essbase Outline API to walk the outline and get it for you
    2. Use the Outline extractor available from Applied Olap (it is a free download). It can be run interactively of as a bat file.
    Frankly, I would rather use 2 since I don't have to code it myself

  • Implement Parent child Relationship using SSIS

    Could you please suggest the best way which should not impact the performance of data loading, to implement parent child relationship using SSIS.
    We have a flat file RECON80.dat which need to be loaded into the database into 2 tables.
    Parent Table JobMaster  and Child Table RECON80 .
    In the flat file we have a fields Jobphase which will get inserted in JobMaster table and the remaning details like EIN, DATE etc will get inserted in RECON80 table.
    The Parent table JobMaster has JobId as an identity column which is the Pk of the table and it will get inserted into the child table i.e RECON80 JobId as FK of the child tale.
    Please suggest the best possible way to achieve it.

    Hi SubhadipRoy, I think you might need to create a procedure for this task.
    Because in SSIS, we cannot directly get the Identity ID.
    As my experience, there were serveral ways to do. But all are workaround.
    So, My suggestion is.
    In SSIS:
    1. Create a DataFlow
    2. Drag a flat source and load the data from dat file
    3. Create a procedure which receive the parameter from your data of each row.
    4. Drag a OLEDBCommand to the Panel and Invoke the Procedure also don't forget to pass all your rows to the Procedure in OLEDBCommand control.
    5. In Procedure, after insert 1 row you could get the Identity ID throuth SCOPE_IDENTITY()
    That's it, hope it works for you even this may not the efficency way.
    Althrough, I expect someone can give the best way if there is.
