Parsing code from a database table
Hi,
How do I output / parse / evaluate HTML and CF code stored in
a database table? For example, I have the following query which
retrieves some HTML and CF code:
<cfquery datasource="MyDatasource" name="GetEmailCode">
select Mail_Content
from Message_Table
</cfquery>
<cfset Subject = "Test email subject...">
<cfset Message="Test email body message....">
Then I have:
<cfoutput query="GetEmailCode">
E-mail message:<br>
#Trim(Mail_Content)#
</cfoutput>
The actual content of #Trim(Mail_Content)# is:
<TABLE WIDTH="750" BORDER="0" CELLPADDING="0"
CELLSPACING="0" ALIGN="center">
<TR>
<TD ALIGN="center">
<TABLE WIDTH="100%" BORDER="0" CELLPADDING="5"
CELLSPACING="0">
<TR>
<TD ALIGN="left" BGCOLOR="tan">
<B>#Trim(Subject)#</B>
</TD>
</TR>
<TR>
<TD ALIGN="left" BGCOLOR="aliceblue">
#Trim(Message)#
</TD>
</TR>
</TABLE>
</TD>
</TR>
</TABLE>
But the output of GetEmailCode displays #Trim(Subject)# and
#Trim(Message)# as is. In other words, it's not outputing the
actual value of Subject and Message which are "Test email
subject..." and "Test email body message...."
How do I output and parse the code correctly? I've tried the
following, but it gives me an error:
<cfoutput query="GetEmailCode">
E-mail message:<br>
#Trim(Evaluate(Mail_Content))#
</cfoutput>
Any help/suggestiong is greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!!!
I was looking for something like this last week, thanks for
posting your own answer instead of just saying "nevermind, I
figured it out" and leaving all to wonder what the solution
was...

Extracting Values of a Field from a Database Table in SAP ECC System
Hi,
I downloaded Extracting Values of a Field from a Database Table in SAP ECC System Using MII 12.0
senario from sdn. I'm trying to do that senario in MII 12.05. But I have problem with section 6 in page 7 (you can supply senario from sdn)
"6- Under the loop of Repeater, use action u2018Rowu2019 to append just the string part of the WA which will display only values for field u2018Batchu2019"
I did not find WA elemen in Output element of Repeater_0
How can I create WA element?
Thanks.Cemil,
Set up a SAP JCo Interface action block. Use the RFC name RFC_READ_TABLE.
In the link editor map the table to "MARA", set RowCount to something small (20 is good sample size) and create an xml transaction property named FIELDS and copy the following into it:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?><FIELDS>
<item>
<FIELDNAME>MATNR</FIELDNAME>
<OFFSET/>
<LENGTH/>
<TYPE/>
<FIELDTEXT/>
</item>
<item>
<FIELDNAME>MTART</FIELDNAME>
<OFFSET/>
<LENGTH/>
<TYPE/>
<FIELDTEXT/>
</item>
<item>
<FIELDNAME>BSTME</FIELDNAME>
<OFFSET/>
<LENGTH/>
<TYPE/>
<FIELDTEXT/>
</item>
<item>
<FIELDNAME>XCHPF</FIELDNAME>
<OFFSET/>
<LENGTH/>
<TYPE/>
<FIELDTEXT/>
</item>
<item>
<FIELDNAME>DATAB</FIELDNAME>
<OFFSET/>
<LENGTH/>
<TYPE/>
<FIELDTEXT/>
</item>
</FIELDS>
Then link the Transaction.FIELDS to SAP_JCo_Interface_0.Request{/RFC_READ_TABLE/TABLES/FIELDS}. You may run into problems with two other fields and optionally they can be removed (set link type to remove xml). I usually remove them initially for testing. The two fields are:
SAP_JCo_Interface_0.Request{/RFC_READ_TABLE/INPUT/NO_DATA}
SAP_JCo_Interface_0.Request{/RFC_READ_TABLE/INPUT/DELIMITER} (or you can set this to something like a semicolon,";" or tilda,"~". I find it easier to caclulate position by length, but that is my own idiosyncrasy.)
Once you get this one working, we can explore how to do filtering on the dataset. Your output should be something like this:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<RFC_READ_TABLE>
<INPUT>
<DELIMITER />
<NO_DATA />
<QUERY_TABLE>MARA</QUERY_TABLE>
<ROWCOUNT>20</ROWCOUNT>
<ROWSKIPS>0</ROWSKIPS>

Add a repeater sourced on:
SAP_JCo_Interface_0.Response{/RFC_READ_TABLE/TABLES/DATA/item}
Link your repeater output to a tracer with this:
Repeater_0.Output{/item/WA}
What you will see in each tracer message is a single line of data with all the fields contents concatenated together. You can look up what each field in the string represents by the length of the field as returned in the Response segment of the RFC_READ_TABLE rfc. Then you can parse out the data you are interested in.
Give this a try and let me know how you succeeded.
By the way, I could not find the scenario you referred to. Can you post a link?

Mike

Hello Anybody, I have a question. Can any of you please suggest me how to make an xml file from the database table with all the records?
Note:- I am having the XSD Schema file and the resulted XML file should be in that XSD format only.The Oracle documentation has a good overview of the options available
Generating XML Data from the Database
Without knowing your version, I just picked 11.2, so you made need to look for that chapter in the documentation for your version to find applicable information.
You can also find some information in XML DB FAQ -
What's the best way to create XML file with a schema from a database table?
Hi,
I want to create an XML file from a database table (which has over 600 columns) using XML schema (.xsd file). I want to know the best way to do this.
The output XML file is NOT a direct data dump from the DB table, therere some logic around it, such as the XML file has some hierarchy with repeating tags.
I have done this using JAXB by creating Java classes form XML schema, but I dont want to map 600 DB columns to these Java classes manually, and loop through the record set to create repeating tags.
I know there are few tools around now like MapForce (Altova), how do people do these now?
Thanks,
ChandiCan you use a schema when we compose XML doc from Database tables?
Actually, I'm using SQL Server (sorry, wrong forum). But, I thought a Java tool would have a solution for me. -
Generating an Entity Bean from a Database Table
I am following the tutorial "How Do I: Generate an Entity Bean from a Database
Table?" and in that process doing the "Configuring a Data Source". This is the
message I get when I configure a data source per the tutorial and click OK. This
data source exists and the information is correct that I have supplied.
Do I need to put the MS jars somewhere to enable this?
See attached fileI've just figured it out. An input source also takes a Reader in its constructor. I was thinking that it only took an InputStream, and as the Serializer requires you to set a Writer on it, I was finding it impossible to convert between bytes and chars. Now, I have simply set a blank CharArrayWriter on the Serializer, got a char[] from it once the Serializer has written the Document to the stream, and then constructed a CharArrayReader with this char[]. It works fine now. Not that anyone read the problem anyway cos I solved it a few minutes after I posted it. Considering it first cropped up about 4 months ago and it has been niggling ever since, I am pleased!

How to select alternate entries from the database table
Hi Experts,
can u help me, how to select alternate entries from the database table.
ThanksAs there is no concept of sequence (unless there is a field specifically included for the purpose), there is no meaning to "alternate" records.
What table do you have in mind, what data does it hold, and why do you want alternate records?

Insert data into fact table from source database tables
here i try to insert data into fact table from source database tables here is the query

The INSERT statement conflicted with the FOREIGN KEY constraint "FK_Dimfact_Dimproduct". The conflict occurred in database "pp dw", table "dbo.Dimproduct", column 'Prod_ID'.

HOW TO SOLVE THIS PROBLEM?I cant see any join conditions in your query posted. Whats the purpose of the query above. It will just bring you a cartesian product (cross join) of tables involved subjected to filters. Are you sure this is the correct query?
The error you're getting may be because you've not yet populated DimProduct or may be because of logic you used in popultaing DimProduct causing it to miss some records which is what query is referring to in above case.

Selecting the last record from a database table
In my ABAP Program, I have to use a select statement to retrieve the last record from the database table with the same key. In other words, the Program will get more than one hit on the database table for the selected keys and I need to retrieve values from only the last record and not the first. I know I can use an internal table to sort the records first and then retrieve the right value. But to make things easier, is there a SELECT statement keyword than I can use to do this in one single step? Thanks!
hi,
tables:mara.
data: begin of it_mara occurs 0,
matnr like mara-matnr,
meins like mara-meins,
mtart like mara-mtart,
end of it_mara.
select-options:s_matnr for mara-matnr.
select matnr
meins
mtart
from mara
into table it_mara
where matnr in s_matnr.
if not it_mara[] is initial.
sort it_mara by matnr descending.
read table it_mara index 1.
endif.
then you get the last record of the select statement.

To fetch Data from multiple database tables!
How to fetch Data from fields of multiple database tables!
Give me one example!use <b>join....</b>
c the SAPHELP docs...
FROM tabref1 [INNER] JOIN tabref2 ON cond
Effect
The data is to be selected from transparent database tables and/or views determined by tabref1 and tabref2. tabref1 and tabref2 each have the same form as in variant 1 or are themselves Join expressions. The keyword INNER does not have to be specified. The database tables or views determined by tabref1 and tabref2 must be recognized by the ABAP Dictionary.
In a relational data structure, it is quite normal for data that belongs together to be split up across several tables to help the process of standardization (see relational databases). To regroup this information into a database query, you can link tables using the join command. This formulates conditions for the columns in the tables involved. The inner join contains all combinations of lines from the database table determined by tabref1 with lines from the table determined by tabref2, whose values together meet the logical condition (join condition) specified using ON>cond.
Inner join between table 1 and table 2, where column D in both tables in the join condition is set the same:

Example
Output a list of all flights from Frankfurt to New York between September 10th and 20th, 2001 that are not sold out:
DATA: DATE LIKE SFLIGHT-FLDATE,
CARRID LIKE SFLIGHT-CARRID,
CONNID LIKE SFLIGHT-CONNID.
SELECT FCARRID FCONNID F~FLDATE
INTO (CARRID, CONNID, DATE)
FROM SFLIGHT AS F INNER JOIN SPFLI AS P
ON FCARRID = PCARRID AND
FCONNID = PCONNID
WHERE P~CITYFROM = 'FRANKFURT'
AND P~CITYTO = 'NEW YORK'
AND F~FLDATE BETWEEN '20010910' AND '20010920'
AND FSEATSOCC < FSEATSMAX.
WRITE: / DATE, CARRID, CONNID.
ENDSELECT.
If there are columns with the same name in both tables, you must distinguish between them by prefixing the field descriptor with the table name or a table alias. -
Randomly selecting some rows from the database table
Hi can some one help me in selecting some rows from a database table which has around 90,000 rows.
Thanks.One thing you might try is the "sample" clause if you have 8i which is supposed to return a random percentage of the table. Say for example, you have a sequence number on your table as the pkey. Then you might try:
select * from <table_name> where pkey in(select pkey from <table_name> sample(10));
This should give you a random 10 percent of the rows in the table but I tried this once and the results seemed unpredictable. For example it returned a different number of rows each time even though the number of rows in the table didn't change.
Hope this works for you. -
How to select first several records from a database table by using select?
Hi,
I want to select first 100 records from a database table by using select clause. How to write it?
Thanks a lot!hai long!
well select statement is used to retrive
records from the database.
following is the syntax to be used.
1) select * into corresponding fields of itab from basetable where condition.
endselect.
ex: select * into corresponding fields of itab from mara
where matnr >= '1' and matnr <= '100'.
append itab.
endselect.
select * is a loop statement.it will execute till matnr is less than or equal to 100.
note: you can also mention the required field names in the select statement otherwise it will select all the field from table mara.
note: itab means your internal table name.
hope you got the required thing.if it really solved u r problem then award me the suitable points.<b></b> -

"I have deleted the BW Statistics data, <b>not the actual data in RSDDSTAT tables</b> through
RSA1 -> Tools -> BW Statistics for InfoProviders -> clicked 'Delete' bin to delete data."
If you used the RSA1 -> Tools -> BW Statistics for InfoProviders -> clicked 'Delete' - <b>then you deleted the data from the RSDDSTAT tables</b>. This assumes you accepted the default date range that would have popped up after the clicking on the Delete button which specified to delete thru the current date. If this is what you did, the data is gone. Your only hope is be to recover from a DB backup.
The data in the RSDDSTAT tables is what is used to feed the BW Statistics cubes, generally on a daily basis.
