Partial Page Navigation in Oracle ADF

Hi!
I am looking for a solution in Oracle ADF for rendering different page content inside the current page defined layout using AJAX. Currently on command button i am able to send XMLHttpRequest but it is going to another page rather than rendering the other page content on the current page.
my index page code is:-
<?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8'?>
<jsp:root xmlns:jsp="http://java.sun.com/JSP/Page" version="2.1"
xmlns:f="http://java.sun.com/jsf/core"
xmlns:h="http://java.sun.com/jsf/html"
xmlns:af="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adf/faces/rich">
<jsp:directive.page contentType="text/html;charset=UTF-8"/>
<f:view>
<af:document id="d1" binding="#{backingBeanScope.backing_index.d1}">
<af:form id="f1" binding="#{backingBeanScope.backing_index.f1}">
<af:commandButton text="Go"
binding="#{backingBeanScope.backing_index.cb1}"
id="cb1"
action="#{backingBeanScope.backing_index.cb1_action}"
partialSubmit="true"/>
<af:panelFormLayout id="pfl1" binding="#{backingBeanScope.backing_index.pfl1}" partialTriggers="cb1"
inlineStyle="height:403px;">
<af:outputFormatted value="this is index page, click go button to go to home page" id="of1" binding="#{backingBeanScope.backing_index.of1}"/>
</af:panelFormLayout>
</af:form>
</af:document>
</f:view>
<!--oracle-jdev-comment:auto-binding-backing-bean-name:backing_index-->
</jsp:root>
my home page is:-
<?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8'?>
<jsp:root xmlns:jsp="http://java.sun.com/JSP/Page" version="2.1"
xmlns:f="http://java.sun.com/jsf/core"

</af:document>
</f:view>

Thank you in advance

Hi.
You can do it using ADF TaskFlows,Create two page fragments as index.jsff and home.jsff.Also need to create container page(.jspx) to add taskflow and finally need to run Content page.Then you can navigates page fragments within taskflow using controle flow case(navigation between page fragments).
See:

  • Need more clarification on Page navigation in Oracle ADF Mobile and How to add add a AMX page in feature (beginner)

    Hi
    i am an android app developer and new to ADF Mobile , so there are some doubts on Navigation through pages and mapping the new AMX page to features.
    Steps i have followed
    1. i have created an  project using Mobile Application (ADF)
    2. right clicking on ViewController , i have added  AMX page and added some componets
    Now i just want to show this page while executing this application in mobile. i have added this page path in to feature also but i am getting a blank screen.
    please give me solution or give me a good example or any link which will help out.
    i have added a button in the first screen and i want to go to next screen if the user press it. i know that task flow will help to achieve this but how i will add this with page. i am bit confused on those topics.
    Thanks in advance

  • How to use Partial Page Navigation

    according to Web User Interface Developer's Guide for Oracle Application Development Framework section 7.4.1 How to Use Partial Page Navigation,
    I set 'oracle.adf.view.rich.pprNavigation.OPTIONS' to 'on' in the web.xml.
    and in the jspx, I use af:commandNavigationItem to navigation and set the tag 'partialSubmit' attribute to true.
    But it does not work. does anybody know how to use this feature?

    Hi,
    the question is "what does not work". Partial Page Navigation is there to improve performance on page navigation. So if you navigate from page1 using a navigation case to end up at page 2 then the outcome of the command action's action property should match the navigation case name.

  • Page navigation problem in adf application.

    Hi All,
    I developed one application in ADF that is working fine in integrated WLS. But While deployed in standalone WLS the page is not navigating.
    in my application i created two pages like in First page search with table.second page details of particular row from table for that oi used
    Execute with perms with key value method from Data-control in table for row i changed to command link when i click on link the page should be navigated to details page
    in integrated WLS but its not working in standalone WLS. please give some solution.
    Regards,
    Shankar

    Shankar,
    Did you try searching for the problem first?
    Check the URL that you are using to run your application in the standalone WLS (and compare it with the URL that you use with the integrated WLS).
    I'd guess your standalone URL has ".jspx" or ".jsf" at the end of it, which means you're running a page directly and not a taskflow view activity. Try removing the ".jspx" or ".jsf" from your URL and see what happens.
    For more explanation, you can search the forum or read the Fusion Developers Guide for ADF - this question is asked about once or twice a week.

  • Partial page navigation

    hi everybody ,
    i have a page wich content a menu , i want when i clic on a menu only the content of the page change (from table to form in my case) .
    how to achieve this with adf i think i can use ppr but how ?
    thanks

    Hi,
    if you only want to change the way data is presented (from form to table) then you use af:switcher and PPR the parnet container holding this tag. Each facet of the af:switcher tag would then hold the UI you want to switch between. If you want to change business context, then you use bounded task flows and from your menu change the display of a dynamic region by changing the associated managed bean.

  • How can i insert data into DB from my page programatically in Oracle ADF..?

    Hai, this is praveen.
    I have created  an EO and VO, when i have inserted data by dragging and dropping from DataControl -->Operations-->Create. I have successfully inserting data. But how can i do it programatically. What are the pre-defined steps that i can use over there to insert data into table programatically. Could u plz help me?

    Hi,
    You have to create an action Listener in the bean for any button.
    Then call an AM method.
    In that you have to do the following
    ViewObject yourVO = getYourVO();
    Row r = yourVo.createRow();
    r.setAttribute("Column1", value1); //the name of column should be as it is in your vo attribute.
    yourVO.insertRow(r);
    this.getDbTransaction().commit();
    Thanks

  • Previous page navigation after on click of cancel button of a form in adf

    Hi,
    Can any one tell how previous page navigation works in adf?
    I am working on a portal page which is having a common footer for all jspx pages.This footer contains a golink for feedback form.
    so the problem is when I Navigate to any page (# page 1)and then Navigate to some other page (#page 2) and on click of Feedback link displayed on footer of page 2 Feedback form is displayed. and on Click of Cancel button of the form.
    Expected Result:
    User should be navigated to the page that they were on. (i.e., Page 2)
    Actual Result:
    User is navigated to page 1 instead of page 2
    i.e it is taking browser previous url.
    I am using the following code for the cancel button
    <af:commandLink text="Cancel" id="cl5">
    <af:clientListener method="goBack" type="click"/>
    </af:commandLink>
    java script....
    function goBack()
    window.history.back()
    Edited by: 993530 on Apr 23, 2013 3:35 AM

    Hi,
    Immediate = true is already been set for cancel button
    The problem is when i come back to the 1st page vo is getting executed again and is taking lot of time.. i need to see that vo does not get executed again
    in the vo for view criteria -- query execution mode , i have made as in memory and now it has become fast on click of cancel button. But i am getting the following error when i perform search in the first page
    Missing FROM in a SELECT statement
    An unexpected expression token is found.
    Thanks,

  • ADF Faces : partial page rendering in f:subview

    hi
    Please consider this blog post, "ADF Faces: How-to issue a PPR event from a f:subview and how-to PPR of subviews" :
    http://thepeninsulasedge.com/frank_nimphius/2008/02/14/adf-faces-how-to-issue-a-ppr-event-from-a-fsubview-and-how-to-ppr-of-subviews/
    In this post, Frank Nimphius writes : "... PPR from a containing page to the subview - unfortunately - only works for the whole subview, which means that the included page is getting refreshed. Because the f:subview component does not support PR, you need to work with a wrapping ADF Faces container, like af:panelGroup ...".
    But, it looks like such partial page rendering in a subview can be done without a specific "wrapping ADF Faces container" like this ...
            <h:form id="firstPPRPageFormID">
              <af:panelPage title="firstPPRPage">
                <af:panelHeader text="components on firstPPRPage">
                  <af:panelForm>
                    <af:panelLabelAndMessage label="dateUtil.currentDateAsString, with partial trigger">
                      <af:outputText value="#{dateUtil.currentDateAsString}"
                                     partialTriggers="firstSubviewID:firstSubviewCButton"/>
                    </af:panelLabelAndMessage>
                    <af:panelLabelAndMessage label="dateUtil.currentDateAsString">
                      <af:outputText value="#{dateUtil.currentDateAsString}"/>
                    </af:panelLabelAndMessage>
                    <f:facet name="footer">
                      <af:commandButton text="firstPPRPage button"
                                        id="firstPPRPageCButton"
                                        partialSubmit="true"/>
                    </f:facet>
                  </af:panelForm>
                </af:panelHeader>
                <f:subview id="firstSubviewID">
                  <jsp:include page="/firstSubview.jspx" flush="true"/>
                </f:subview>
              </af:panelPage>
            </h:form>... and where firstSubview.jspx contains something like this ...
      <af:panelHeader text="components on firstSubview">
        <af:panelForm>
          <af:panelLabelAndMessage label="dateUtil.currentDateAsString, with partial trigger">
            <af:outputText value="#{dateUtil.currentDateAsString}"
                           partialTriggers=":firstPPRPageFormID:firstPPRPageCButton"/>
          </af:panelLabelAndMessage>
          <af:panelLabelAndMessage label="dateUtil.currentDateAsString">
            <af:outputText value="#{dateUtil.currentDateAsString}"/>
          </af:panelLabelAndMessage>
          <f:facet name="footer">
            <af:commandButton text="firstSubview button" id="firstSubviewCButton"
                              partialSubmit="true"/>
          </f:facet>
        </af:panelForm>
      </af:panelHeader>Note the value ":firstPPRPageFormID:firstPPRPageCButton" for the partialTriggers attribute.
    see http://verveja.footsteps.be/~verveja/files/oracle/PartialPageRenderingInSubview-v0.01.zip (check README.txt)
    questions:
    (1) Why exactly does this approach seem to work?
    (2) Because of question (1), what could be potential issues with this approach?
    regards
    Jan Vervecken

    Jan,
    good job ! I actually never thought of reversing what I said about PPR'ing a component from a subview.
    Actually
    partialTriggers=":firstPPRPageFormID:firstPPRPageCButton"/>
    works because the leading ":" makes ADF Faces to start the component search from the root container. Note that if you use af:form instead of h:form, the trigger is
    partialTriggers=":firstPPRPageCButton"/>
    I'll update my blog

    Please suggest if you know of any documentation on ADF UIX partial page rendering.
    ADF UIX has very little documentation online and finding it hard to debug this issue.
    It ll be of great help.
    Thanks

    Hi Jason,
    As of EA9, all rendered components support a partialTriggers attribute. This attribute takes a list of master component IDs. If any of the master components are updated via a partial event, the dependent component will be rerendered in the partial update.
    If you are on an earlier release, you should upgrade.
    Thanks,
    Jeanne

  • ADF Menus for Page Navigation

    I have completed the [ADF Menus for Page Navigation|http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/11/cuecards/adf_set_43/ccset43_ALL.html] tutorial.
    Everything work as expected, with one exception. The 'Add and Bind Navigation Pane Components' section has you put a Navigation Pane in the menBar facet of the panel header. In the Hint dropdown you select 'buttons' and set some other properties.
    When I run the finished project, the menu items in the menbar are displaying vertically instead of horizontally as the image with the tutorial shows. Why? How do I get them to display horizontally?
    I really like that menu model and plan utilizing it in real world application; unfortunately, have the menubar dislay vertically in the panel header is unacceptable.

                      <af:commandNavigationItem text="#{menuInfo.label}"
                                                id="pt_cni1" icon="#{menuInfo.icon}"
                                                destination="#{menuInfo.destination}"
                                                action="#{menuInfo.doAction}"/>
                  </f:facet>
                </af:navigationPane>
              </f:facet>
              <f:facet name="legend"/>
              <f:facet name="info"/>
            </af:panelHeader>
          </f:facet>

    Ok, I am still at a loss as to why this is happening.
    It seems to be related to the either navigationpane or the menu meta data.
    I have only foudn one difference so far. The tutorial states that JDeveloper us org.apache.myfaces.trinidad.model.XMLMenuModel managed bean class by default; however, my project used oracle.adf.view.rich.model.MDSMenuModel. When I use the XMLMenuModel, the only visible diference is in the Visual Editor and the Preview panes. The menus appear horizontally in those panes, but not when you run the application in a web borwser.
    Still troubleshooting.

  • ADF Faces : simultaneous partial page rendering

    hi
    I'm wondering what I can expect from "simultaneous partial page rendering".
    I would like to have some af:selectOneChoice components on a page, with next to them some related information about the selected value.
    This example application, created using JDeveloper 10.1.3.3.0, does this using partial page rendering (check README.txt):
    http://verveja.footsteps.be/~verveja/files/oracle/SimultaneousPPRApp-v0.01.zip
    It as a pprPage.jspx with these components ...
              <af:panelPage title="pprPage">
                <af:panelHorizontal>
                  <af:commandButton text="some button"/>
                  <af:objectSpacer width="10" height="10"/>
                  <af:outputText value="requestCounter.value = #{requestCounter.value}"/>
                </af:panelHorizontal>
                <af:panelHorizontal>
                  <af:selectOneChoice label="selectOneChoice A"
                                      id="selectOneChoiceA" autoSubmit="true"
                                      binding="#{backing_PPRPage.selectOneChoiceA}"
                                      valueChangeListener="#{backing_PPRPage.onChangeSelectOneChoiceA}">
                    <af:selectItem label="null value label"
                                   value="#{null}"/>
                    <af:selectItem label="first choice label"
                                   value="first-choice-value"/>
                    <af:selectItem label="second choice label"
                                   value="second-choice-value"/>
                    <af:selectItem label="third choice label"
                                   value="third-choice-value"/>
                  </af:selectOneChoice>
                  <af:objectSpacer width="10" height="10"/>
                  <af:outputText value="#{backing_PPRPage.selectOneChoiceARelatedValue}"
                                 partialTriggers="selectOneChoiceA"/>
                </af:panelHorizontal>
                <af:panelHorizontal>
                  <af:selectOneChoice label="selectOneChoice B"
                                      id="selectOneChoiceB" autoSubmit="true"
                                      binding="#{backing_PPRPage.selectOneChoiceB}"
                                      valueChangeListener="#{backing_PPRPage.onChangeSelectOneChoiceB}">
                    <af:selectItem label="null value label"
                                   value="#{null}"/>
                    <af:selectItem label="fourth choice label"
                                   value="fourth-choice-value"/>
                    <af:selectItem label="fifth choice label"
                                   value="fifth-choice-value"/>
                    <af:selectItem label="sixth choice label"
                                   value="sixth-choice-value"/>
                  </af:selectOneChoice>
                  <af:objectSpacer width="10" height="10"/>
                  <af:outputText value="#{backing_PPRPage.selectOneChoiceBRelatedValue}"
                                 partialTriggers="selectOneChoiceB"/>
                </af:panelHorizontal>
                <af:outputText value="userAgentHelper.info = #{userAgentHelper.info}"/>
              </af:panelPage>... and has a backing bean like this ...
    public class PPRPage
         public String getSelectOneChoiceBRelatedValue()
              return "some " + fSelectOneChoiceB.getValue() + " related value"
                   + ", requestCounter.value = " + ELHelper.get("#{requestCounter.value}");
         public String getSelectOneChoiceARelatedValue()
              return "some " + fSelectOneChoiceA.getValue() + " related value"
                   + ", requestCounter.value = " + ELHelper.get("#{requestCounter.value}");
         public void onChangeSelectOneChoiceA(ValueChangeEvent pValueChangeEvent)
              // simulating a slow operation/response
              try
                   Thread.sleep(2000);
              catch (InterruptedException ex)
                   ; // ignore;
         public void onChangeSelectOneChoiceB(ValueChangeEvent pValueChangeEvent)
              // nothing here to slow things down
    }It is important to note that changing the value for the "selectOneChoice A" dropbox has some time consuming operation to perform (possibly calculating/querying the related information to show next to it).
    Using IE 6 ("userAgentHelper.info = ... MSIE 6.0 ..."), this behaves like this:
    (ie-1) Run pprPage.jspx in JDeveloper, which results in a page that shows this:
    selectOneChoice A [null value label] some null related value, ...
    selectOneChoice B [null value label] some null related value, ...(ie-2) Select "first choice label" from the "selectOneChoice A" dropbox and immediatly after that select "fourth choice label" from the "selectOneChoice B" dropbox, which results in a page that shows this:
    selectOneChoice A [first choice label] some first-choice-value related value, ...
    selectOneChoice B [fourth choice label] some null related value, ...(ie-3) Select "second choice label" from the "selectOneChoice A" dropbox, which results in a page that shows this:
    selectOneChoice A [second choice label] some second-choice-value related value, ...
    selectOneChoice B [fourth choice label] some fourth-choice-value related value, ...Using Firefox 2.0 ("userAgentHelper.info = ... Firefox/2.0.0.12"), this behaves like this:
    (ff-1) Do the same as in step (ie-1), which has the same result as step (ie-1).
    (ff-2) Do the same as in step (ie-2), which results in a page that shows this:
    selectOneChoice A [first choice label] some first-choice-value related value, ...
    selectOneChoice B [fourth choice label] some fourth-choice-value related value, ...
    questions:
    (q1) Why does the related information, for the selected "fourth choice label", not show up in step (ie-2) (as it does in step (ff-2))?
    (q2) Why does the related information, for the selected "fourth choice label", show up in step (ie-3) while the value was only/already changed in step (ie-2)?
    (q3) Does some general approach exist to prevent "simultaneous partial page rendering" behaviour as described in (q1) and (q2)?
    many thanks

  • Oracle ADF refresh as deferred does not execute query on page load

    In the oracle ADF page I have two panel boxes. (Oracle ADF 11.1.1.4)
    a) Personal information panel box with PanelFormLayout (PersonalInfoViewObj) - ReadOnly View Object
    b) Address information panel box with Table (AddressInfoViewObj) - Read Only View Object
    For the iterators in a) and b) I have kept refresh condition as deferred and cacheResult=false. Also in b) for af:table, I have kept contentDelivery="immediate"
    When page loads it fires SQL query for a) and populate the data in Personal information panel box. However for b) it does not execute the SQL query and the data is not getting populated ( in AddressInformation panel with the tables. Please note data is there in the DATABASE......)
    Becasue with the refresh as deferred it was not executing the sql query for Panel b) (panel with Table and table iterator). I have tried refresh as always and refresh ifNeeded/renderModel/prepareModel however in that case it is executing the SQL query two times (twice).
    Please let me know the best way to fix this issue.

    Hi,
    I think you need a method in an application module to init your data.
    In your AM : create a method like :
    public void init(){
    getViewObject().executeQuery();
    }In your adfc-config.xml create a methodCall from this method and a "control flow case" from the methodCall to your page.
    and keep refresh as "deferred " in your pageDef.

  • Partial Page Redering in ADF

    Hi,
    How to implement partial Page Redering in ADF

    Have a look at the documentation - Web User Interface Developers Guide for Oracle Application Development Framework - chapter 7 - Rendering Partial Page Content
    Everything is explained there and a lot better than I can do :-)

  • Oracle ADF Security Login page

    hi.
    I am using oracle ADF 11.1.2.2.0 (oracle Jdevelopr 11g release 2) in my job environment. There are 3000 users working as client level in our company. They have separated user Id and roles. They can change their passwords. There are expiration period for passwords which is handle by in database level. when the employees are going to terminate or retirement , we can control their login status. that mean we change their Active status as a Inactive status. some times we recruit number of emplooyes for cover our business targets. Their User Id also in database table level.
    My main problem is how we can handle number of employees using Oracle ADF security configuration.
    second one is how user can change their passwords.
    Third is how number of employees going to terminate ,handle their Active/Inactive State.
    Fourth one is If we use this Oracle Security system ,project managers or project cordinator or Adminstrator level authenticator must need to deploy time to time war file, because of adding removing users in jazn-data.xml.
    hoping help from you.Thanking for all.

    So, you can define SQLAuthenticator/SQLReadOnlyAuthenticator on Weblogic which will retrieve users from your db table(instead of jazn-data file) to application server.
    Then, in your application you can enable ADF Security and this will generate login page.
    And, this is it :)
    If you need some custom processing before users login to your app, then you can create custom login page and do whatever you want in Java code:
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E16162_01/web.1112/e16182/adding_security.htm#BABDEICH
    >
    But 11g has Database connection in Application Resource. Using that connection I need to log to the system using user's User iD and Password
    >
    This connection is valid only in design time. When you deploy your application to application server, then you can include this connection in .ear file, or you can define Data Source on Weblogic(which is better approach).
    To programmatically retreive db connection, you can create utility method in your Application Module.
